The device also supports Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad, as well as game controllers for gaming2.
The Vision Pro is set to be available for purchase in early 2024, with a price tag of $3,4992. This makes it one of the most expensive XR headsets on the market, but also one of the most advanced and innovative. Apple claims that the Vision Pro is years ahead and unlike anything created before, with thousands of groundbreaking innovations1.
But how does the Vision Pro compare with other XR headsets, such as Meta’s Quest 3? And how will it change the user experience and UX design of computing? The Vision Pro differs from Meta’s Quest 3 in several ways. First, the Vision Pro uses augmented reality rather than virtual reality. This means that it allows users to see digital content overlaid on their real environment, rather than being fully immersed in a virtual world. Users can adjust how immersive they want to be by using a rotating crown on the headset2. This may make it easier for users to integrate the technology into their daily lives, without being completely cut off from their surroundings.
Second, the Vision Pro relies on gesture-based inputs rather than controllers. Users can use their voice, eyes or slight movement from their hands to move apps, expand pictures and even take notes. This may make the interaction more natural and intuitive, as well as more accessible and inclusive for all users.
Third, the Vision Pro has a much higher resolution than Meta’s Quest 3. Each panel on the Vision Pro has 23 million pixels, which is more than a 4K TV for each eye. This means that details should be incredibly crisp and realistic. Apple claims that users can view the world in full color while wearing the headset.
The Vision Pro may change the user experience and UX design of computing by introducing a new dimension of spatial interaction. Users will be able to place virtual screens around their Mac, take FaceTime calls without digging into their pocket, and write emails from their couch Users will also be able to interact with digital content in a way that feels like it is physically present in their space.
However, creating spatial user interfaces will also require new challenges and opportunities for UX designers. Designers will need to understand 3D spaces and how users interact with them, create new interaction models based on human gestures and body motions, consider accessibility and inclusivity of all users, use immersive storytelling to increase user engagement and emotional connections, and account for the real-world context in which spatial UI interfaces are used.
The Vision Pro may also not replace other input devices in some scenarios. For example, some users may prefer keyboards or touchscreens for typing or drawing. Some users may also find gesture-based inputs tiring or imprecise. Some users may also not want to wear a headset all the time or share their eye movements with others.
The Vision Pro is certainly an impressive device that may revolutionize the UX industry by developing it in a new format. However, it is also just the first generation of spatial computer. It may have some limitations or drawbacks that need to be improved over time. It may also face competition from other XR headsets that offer different features or advantages. It's often said that people quit bosses, not jobs. A bad boss can make a good job miserable and a bad job unbearable. Unfortunately, I find myself in the unfortunate position of having one of the worst bosses in my entire career at my current workplace, and I simply cannot stay silent about it any longer.
Here are the reasons why this boss has driven me to the point of frustration and led me to make the difficult decision to leave:

1. False Promises: What was said during the interview process turned out to be nothing more than empty fluff. The boss made grand promises about the work environment and support that would be provided, but it quickly became evident that those were just words.
   
2. Lack of Respect: During my notice period at my previous job, this boss had the audacity to ask me to start working for the new place immediately. It showed a complete lack of understanding and respect for my previous commitments.
   
3. Lack of Support: This boss fails to support the team in any meaningful way. They rarely offer guidance or assistance when needed and seem to be more interested in their own personal agenda than the success of the team as a whole.
   
4. Ignoring Input: The boss consistently disregards the opinions and suggestions of the team. It's as if our voices are nothing more than background noise, and our ideas are brushed aside without a second thought.
   
5. Credit and Blame: This boss has a habit of taking credit for any victories or successes, while promptly placing blame on the team when things don't go according to plan. It creates a toxic work environment where we are always on edge, fearing the consequences of failure.
   
6. Poor Communication: Not only does this boss rarely let others finish speaking, but they also have a tendency to go off-topic frequently. It makes meetings and discussions unproductive and frustrating for everyone involved.

Title says it all really. I have a 12 year old cat who was overweight. I adopted her from someone who had multiple cats using one box. She had been urinating and pooping outside the box but I attributed that to cleanliness of the box and amount of cats using one box.
I’ve since helped her lose weight with a prescription food and I’ve had her checked out at the vet and she is healthy with no discernible conditions at the moment. I have 2 other cats (bengals). I have 5 litter boxes and I scoop them daily or at worst every other day when I’m super busy.
I’ve used litter attractant to get her in the box, given her treats when she used the box, given her head scratches when she uses it. I’ve used sprays to mask her scent where she went outside the box, had the carpets deep cleaned, moved boxes to where she normally goes and even tried minor discipline like a stern voice. I’ve even put her poop in the litter box and then put her in the box and used her paw to cover it while praising her as she covered it. The boxes are upstairs but even with one downstairs she still would go upstairs and then use the bathroom right NEXT to the clean box.
I’m at my wits end, I love this cat, she is a sweetheart who cuddles and purrs like a motor but she is destroying my carpets and making my house smell horrible. I don’t know what else to do and I need advice. I don’t want to get rid of her but I can only take so much and I can’t deal with this much longer. I will not put her in a shelter EVER but I may have to rehome her to someone who can deal with this.
Help me please! Any advice is appreciated.

The antimatter engines roared as it ripped open a wound into space. The crew of the GFR Ijin were too focused to pay attention though. Too early to call it successful. Though the newbie on board, well, he was mesmerized.
Xynder belonged to a recently spaceborn species and he was the first of his kind to be accepted into a galactic federation research vessel. He stood there watching space envelope itself and form into an infinite void.
The Ijin lurched forward, slowly making its way into the entrance of the wormhole. Shadows seemed to jump out and grab onto the ship, enticing it to enter. The navigation crew played a wondrous dance with those shadows, making sure to only enter at the time of their own choosing.
And then they were in. Traveling through the wormhole, but Xynder could tell something was wrong. As an empath, the tension amongst the navigators felt claustrophobic. All until the entirety of the ship seemed to jostle.
The ship shook to a simple rhythm. One, two, three and four. The ship seemed to bob up and down, calmly matching the rhythm of the universe. It was soothing. Not knowing any better, Xynder was worried until he felt the room’s tension subside. He looked around to see crew members jump up and clap. The captain came forward,
“We’ve caught the wave, all smooth sailing from here.”
Cheers broke out.
Now, wormhole travel wasn’t dangerous by any means, it was simply difficult. One wrong tug from those shadows and boom, you’re 15 light-years off course. One wrong mathematical value and off you go, into the ether.
But Xynder was left wondering why the wave was the sign. All that math, skill and talent of the navigators. Why did the wave matter?
So he started asking around. And one of the navigators answered.

Wormhole travel was dangerous centuries ago. Six centuries to be exact. The finer details hadn’t been sorted out yet. Forget wasting fuel or time, you might find yourself exiting directly into a star or crashing into a planet.
And six centuries ago, a human sorted out the finer details. Well, technically she’s the one who started it all.
Six centuries ago, humanity joined the greater federation. Among the first they sent out into the galaxy was an engineer, an engineer named Dawn.
She was slightly shorter than the human average though her personality was easily in the upper echelons. She never stopped smiling, though she learned to stop showing her teeth as it scared the other species. But that wasn’t the first thing the others saw about her.
You see, everyone expected a Deathworlder. A terrifying, monstrous specimen known for war and an agent of chaos.
What everyone saw was a human with Down syndrome and autism.
Humanity had long since stopped discriminating, knowing among itself that such differences bore no real meaning. But that memo about humanity hadn’t spread to the rest of the galaxy yet.
Whether it was an herbivore or carnivore, a prey or a predator species, everyone onboard the GF Destiny took advantage of Dawn.
They gave her tasks that would eat up her entire day. Then they’d laugh as she was scolded and punished by her commanding officer for failing to meet her quota. They would trip her down the hallways of the ship, or hide her tools away from her. A sort of retaliation for being a Deathworlder.
Dawn would smile and do as she was told, act as if nothing had happened. She wasn’t dumb. She knew what was going on. But she feared that humanity itself would be looked down on and she wouldn’t have any of that.
She worked on the engine, keeping it maintained. She fixed it when it was broken and, most importantly, she kept a journal full of ideas that could improve the engine and create better wormhole travel for all.
Though Dawn never got the chance to directly implement her changes.
The GF Destiny was ordered to open a new wormhole. One that was only theorized. Rather than opening and closing a wormhole each time, the mathematicians argued it was possible to keep a wormhole open permanently.
So off the crew went, hard at work. Far too busy to bother Dawn, she was finally left alone for the first time since she had left human territory.
The entrance was opened and it remained stable for several cycles. Then the exit was chosen, again left open to show stability.
Finally it was time to make the trek.
The navigation crew was nervous, though all the vectors were correct. Their flight plan was perfect. The engine was perfect
But 600 years ago, the finer details weren’t ironed out yet and so a few shadows lunged out and attached onto the ship.
To the outside world, the GF Destiny and the wormhole tunnel completely disappeared leaving behind entrance and an exit.
To the crew aboard, the alarms in the engine bay were blaring
The engineers aboard huddled around the engine consoles, ripping through them to find the problem. Several went into the corollary engines rooms and came out with terrible news. The engine was nearing critical mass.
Their engine wasn’t built on antimatter, but nuclear power. Rough around the edges but supplied ample power. Going critical though wasn’t on anyone’s maintenance sheet. No one was certified in “Stopping Nuclear Explosions
Fail safes in the engine bay turned off most automatic processes such that experienced professionals could fix such an issue physically. Luckily for the GF Destiny, there was a Deathworlder on board.
Dawn quickly took charge from her commanding officer, forcing most engineers to relay information back to the navigation crew or remain on the consoles to prepare to fix the issues.
She then turned around and charged into the nuclear core.
The engine bay was silent. Waiting for a sign, waiting for life or death, waiting for her.
A blinding blue light flashed for only a couple seconds.
Then the alarms subsided.
Runners went to report the news to the other crew, shocked engineers began fixing every error that popped on various consoles.
Until a second alarm rang, an alarm that didn’t blare but beeped in quick succession. They all looked up to see Dawn walking towards them, clutching her left arm.
Translators embedded into their bodies translated Dawn’s final words, “I fixed it.”
Though what they saw was no longer Dawn.
Her fingers were dark red and engorged. Her arm was riddled with blisters, deep enough to reach bone.
And her face when she spoke?
The left side of her face was completely melted. No skin, no flesh, only bone. Her left eye was glassed over, no hint of life while her right eye was darted around looking at everything all at once. There was blood dripping out, leaving puddles on the once-pristine engine bay floor.
Dawn collapsed. She was dead before impact.
To the outside world, the GF Destiny and the wormhole tunnel reappeared, though the ship seemed much worse for wear.
To the crew aboard, there was no longer a Geiger alarm going off. There was simply a trail leading to a puddle of blood, with no corpse to be found.
Cycles later, the scientific community demanded to know what happened aboard the ship. To delve into its findings and observations.
What they found was that a human had fixed the engine and now that human was nowhere to be found. The human was pronounced dead.
Humanity demanded to know what happened to their Dawn. Where was she? Was she okay?
And they were answered with news of her death.
At first that was a fine answer albeit a terrible end to such a bright star. The first human engineer to travel through a permanent wormhole and the first to solve its problems but at what cost?
But as with any death, an investigation started. And the longer the investigation took, the more humanity learned.
What her daily life was like. What happened the day of the incident. And where her remains were.
And as it learned of Dawn’s fate, humanity burned. It burned with unbridled rage.
And for the first time in its space-faring age, the galaxy heard humanity’s roar.
It was deafening.
With tears in their eyes, their voices screamed.
“So she was different, we’re all different you sick fucks. What’s wrong with you?”
“Why would you do that?”
“She was a Deathworlder? That’s not an excuse! There is no excuse!”
But what the galaxy heard the most was,
“We can’t trust you.”
Humanity retaliated the only way it knew how. With extreme force.
Politically, humanity paused its status as a federation member until changes were made as a galactic society. Terran science communities stopped all collaboration and rescinded access to all materials and information. Business partners paused trade, only allowing current shipments to be delivered.
Moreover, the Terran military began to occupy the space around Dawn’s last known location, where her body was most likely to be.
All scientific vessels were forced outside of the wormhole’s presence. Any military show of force by a galactic member was dealt with swiftly and surely.
No one was allowed near the Tomb of Dawn.
And humanity lashed out at anyone who tried.
A few months passed by with no signs of political easing when Terran construction crews began to gather around the wormhole.
A year passed as two immense statues were built.
At the exit of the wormhole lay Dusk, a planet-sized statue of a crying human female reaching out to the other statue, desperately wanting to help.
At the entrance lay Dawn, an even larger statue of a smiling woman, her arms wounded and her face damaged, as she waved goodbye.
A few years passed again with no peace in sight on the galactic scale when Humanity finally found Dawn. Or at least as close as they could get.
The Terrans heard it first, or rather, felt it.
One, two, three and four. A rhythm. A wave. The Terran ships seemed to sway, side to side in the same rhythm.
The other species around the galaxy also felt it. A soothing rhythm surrounding every wormhole.
Humanity came out of its rage to confirm and the galaxy answered in kind.
Decades passed before everything was well again, but it seemed that both Dawn and the universe had a response to the mess. A comforting message that transcended translation.
“Be well and Be kind.”

The navigator finished the story and looked back toward Xynder to find him crying.
“I thought your species couldn’t cry?”
Xynder wiped his tears with his wing, “I don’t believe we can actually.”
The navigator laughed, “Weirder things have happened because of wormholes.”
Xynder looked at the navigator, begging for an explanation. The navigator replied,
“594 years and they’re still looking for her Xynder. They believe, sorry, they theorize that the waves aren't some weird universal coincidence but Dawn’s doing. Perhaps, even her heartbeat. They think she’s still alive and trying to communicate with them. To help them find her body.”
Xynder started to tear up again while they both looked back out into the wormhole and its inky darkness.
“I hope they find her.”
“We all do.”

Hi Everyone,
This will be a long post with details to share what I did to get our passports so quickly. We had a unique context for needing the passport but the same urgency as everyone else in the country needing a passport for travel.
Context: My mother surprised our family with a trip to travel abroad on May 1st. Bless her heart and thankful for her generosity. But I immediately panicked because she was not aware of the current backlog of passport requests. She was under the impression we could just apply in person and get a passport the same day. My wife and I have passports but mine was expired. My three children, all under 5 years old, do not have passports. We needed 4 passports total. We were prepared to not go on this trip and I was not optimistic until I came to this sub. We decided to submit applications rather than wait the 14 days from travel as recommended by others on this sub so that we at least had applications in process.

Our entire family went to the clerks office as soon as we could. Due to our work schedules, the earliest we could go to the clerks office was on 5/12, one month out from our travel date. We filled out all the paperwork, got pictures, birth certificates, and check, all paper clipped per applicant. We paid for expedited service. We were at the Clerks office for a total of 1 hour including 20 minute wait time.
Passport received at Locator 45 (National Passport Center in New Hampshire) on 5/18 -- apparently 45 was a new locator number.

Marked in process on: 5/18
I read ALL of the posts of success and failed stories on this sub every day. It was helpful and anxiety inducing.
I email my senator on 5/26 --I emailed three days earlier on Friday 5/26 because Monday was a Federal Holiday, Memorial Day. Our 14 day mark landed on Memorial Day 5/29. Here is my email: I took out the context but feel free to copy and paste:
Dear Senator XX,
My name is XX and I'm humbly requesting assistance in reaching out to the Department of State to mark our passport applications as urgent. ---- I explain context here for the urgent request---- Our applications are currently marked as "in process." We are approaching the 14-day calendar period from our date of travel on May 29, 2023, a federal Holiday. I'm reaching out three days early due to the holiday weekend.
Two factors are affecting our ability to join my family from our date of departure: (I think this was important to state to the senator)

I receive a response on Saturday 5/27 from my Senator. They will try their best to help and shared they will reach out to NCIS.
Our 14 day mark was on May 29
May 30: I call NCIS and request our applications be marked urgent and request for 1-2 day return shipping. I provide my credit card information.
I wait and read more posts on this sub.
June 1: I call my senator for an an update and they share that they have been in contact with NCIS but their is no update and I have to wait until Monday June 5th to request an in person appointment. They share there is a possibility to get the passports before my travel date but they cannot guarantee it. I asked my questions in a calm voice and didn't press the issue when they said there are no guarantees and passports time tables have expanded due to high demand. Again, I wasn't optimistic. It did not look good. We decided to make peace and prepared to tell my mother that we wont be attending because we simply didn't have enough time to apply. But I told my wife, lets wait until Monday and then we can tell my mother.
5/5: I call NCIS to schedule an in person appointment. One in LA at 11:30 am. I say, I'll take it. It was booked before the agent could get it. I call my senator to request for help in getting an in person appointment. They replied they can only assist 72 business days from DOT (6/12). They shared to call back on Weds 6/6. For context, I spoke to a different person each time I called the senator's office and they were all very helpful.
I call my mother to cancel my families reservation but she insisted we try for an in person appointment. I shared that that would be expensive and stressful and next time, while I appreciate the generosity to please check with us first before booking something like this. She was optimistic I gave up.
6/6: I look on the passport tracking applications for myself in the morning. marked "Approved" - wow!! I call my mother and tell her not to cancel. I check my kids applications all approved. I get an email from my senator this afternoon sharing they have an update and that our applications have been approved and will be shipped. Tracking numbers were provided. They will arrive tomorrow on 6/7. 13 business days, 27 days , or 4 weeks total from application to Passport potentially in hand.
I'm grateful, lucky and relieved. I'll update this sub once passports are in hand.
Things I learned:
Apply as soon as you can if you are able. Senators can help track and find your applications if you have a locator.
Get organized and create a task list of what needs to be done. Thoroughly check your applications. It will help with the application process if you go to the clerks office in your city and all items are ready.
I got lucky. Period. Our applications were sent to locator 45 (new locator) who also process applications with 69. Lots of success stories at this location based on this sub.
Passport centers are processing application a week out based on travel date to manage the que. Information shared by my Senator
Be through in your written communication with the Senator. I provided all the documentation and information needed for my request. They responded right away and I didn't need to submit information in an additional email.
Follow up. Be diligent but nice and not demanding. I'm sure the staff at the Senator's office and NCIS get berated daily based on the high demand. The folks processing and reaching out on our behalf are definitely working very hard. I'm grateful for their efforts.

I (28m) have been married for 7 years to my wife (28f). We both grew up in Christian homes, my family was / is extremely conservative Christian. My wife and I got married within 6 months of meeting when we were 21. I / we were so deeply in Christianity we never even kissed much less had sex before our wedding day. We were in Bible school going to be missionaries for the next 4 years toward the end of which I started to have serious questions about the truthfulness of Christianity and left the faith a year later (4 years ago now). At which point I went through some pretty deep depression and our marriage was rocky for a bit. My wife was a Christian up to 6 months ago. We have 2 kids ages 3 and 5 now, I have an extremely profitable business and we have a great house, also our kids are amazing. From every outside measure we are living the dream. I have an extremely strong drive to pursue sex with other people, and have ever since I was first married and before (but obviously that’s not something conservative Christians do). I think it comes from me fighting so hard against my sexual urges as a teen. I use to channel every “dirty” impulse into physical exertion in other areas when I was a young and I was homeschooled and isolated so didn’t have much exposure to girls which also amplified my tensions. I have a seemingly bottomless libido where as my wife has a small libido. Her personality is and always has been extremely security oriented and quite happy with a regular routine, whereas my personality is way more adventure / danger seeking. The daily routine drives me insane. I have voiced my desire to sleep with other people very delicately in the past, which went over about as good as you would expect, not well at all. Now that she is not a Christian and doesn’t have any moral issue with NM I figured she might be open to / even want to try it out, but I was very wrong. We have been talking about it off and on for the past month or two now and I have come to realize she wants nothing to do with NM Christianity or not. I came tho the realization even if she concerned to it I would t want to because I know her heart wouldn’t really be in it. We have talked about swinging, various forms of open relationship but she was skeptical. I realized I could probably manipulate her into agreeing but I’m not the type of person to do that, and that would be a poor long term strategy anyways. My strongest value is truth and honesty so I decided a long time ago I’m not going to cheat. I have never had sex with or kissed or anything anyone other than my wife, but I desperately want to experience it and just be free to explore sex with other people. I see my youth slipping away, and I hate the thought of growing old having never experienced sex with anyone else. I tried to repress this drive and thought my whole life but it keeps surfacing whenever I’m not distracting my brain with something else. And I dream about having sex with people almost every night. But I love my wife and my kids and the life we have built so I don’t want to leave.
But what am I to do? I keep thinking my wife has only been out of Christianity 6 months and maybe her outlook will change as she gets “less Christian” but the more I think about it her personality doesn’t seem like she will ever want to do anything but what she has right now (me exclusively). What do you think about people (my wife) changing their (her) view on monotony? I don’t want to leave my family, the last thing in the world I want to do is destabilize my kids lives, but I’m also so ****ing aggravated by not being able to do anything else sexually. I feel like my life is passing me by. And it’s not a bad life just. Would appreciate any thoughtful input.

Hey fellow MicroVision-aries. Its been a long few years since the last sneeze when we saw the stock shoot up well over $20. Since then its been a long slow bleed, all the way down to the most recent bottom a little over a month ago. Because of that, many of us were deeply in the red on our investments (I was down 70% at one point). I just started using hinge, and I will honestly say it's the best dating app I have used thus far. I don't get random bot likes that add up and make me think I'm wanted. I really enjoy the prompts and profile engagement methods used on the app. Voice recordings, question polls and the sorts I'm in it. But why is it that after I send out my daily allotted likes I start getting profiles that are much better and people that I personally like more. I close the app and make no further swipes so I can like these people the next day when I get more likes. But I open the app and these people are no where to be found and once I swipe away all my likes for today they magically appear again. Why? I left my last swipe where I left it. Why is it refreshed? Why can't I see the person I saw yesterday when my likes ran out today before I exhausted all my likes for today? I definitely looked for them and stayed on the app swiping away but they never came up again. I know they want me to buy hinge+ or whatever but why refresh my feed when I'm fine having limted likes a day I think it's better that way.

Hello, veterans of the "Tales of" game.
I am a newcomer to the "Tales of" franchise. The only "Tales of" installment I knew before was the Tales of the Abyss anime that I watched back in 2011. It was a great anime, and I still have the opening song in my daily playlist up till today. However, apart from that, I haven't followed any "Tales of" games. I consider myself an avid veteran JRPG gamer, having played all the entries of Persona, Final Fantasy, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Suikoden, and many others. Recently, I decided to buy the latest entry, Tales of Arise. I had a blast playing it; I loved the graphics, gameplay, story, Japanese voice actors, skits—everything. Then I choose to buy every DLC except the Gald and Level Up. I really am into the game for more than 15 hours.
However, I'm now in a dilemma because my friend, who hasn't played Tales of Arise due to not having the console or PC for it (as he mentioned himself before), he played all the other entries up to Berseria. He keeps telling me that I wasted my money on the worst entry in the entire franchise by buying the Ultimate Edition of Tales of Arise and all the DLC. We often don't share the exact same taste in games, but we frequently discuss gaming topics. At first, I didn't really care about what he said and thought he was just being salty because he couldn't play it. However, after reading all the negative comments online about Arise, I feel really bad, and his argument seems valid.
Please enlighten me. I feel like I didn't experience the same vibe I had when I played it initially because of all the negativity. I hate to admit it, but your negative comments are haunting me and making me wonder if I truly wasted a lot of money on this game.

This may be the karma I've received for being grumpy about people who kept saying that Persona 5 Royal or Final Fantasy XV were the best. As a veteran myself, I consider them to be one of the worst entries, offering little more than impressive graphics. But still I want to play the awesome game called Tales of Arise, without too much care about other people negative comment, pls help me get the positive vibe.
