I’m a Spotify user and they have pulled some podcasts from YouTube to put them on their own platform. I haven’t found a CC option on any of these videos so far.
That seems fucked up to me? Are deaf people just excluded from podcasts?

Hi guys, I wasn't sure if this would be the right place to post because, as I will explain, this was never a relationship. It's been exactly six months since I had my heart completely broken by a man (21M) that I will call Luke here. Going into details would be really long, so I'll keep it short. We were never together. We were never really "with" each other, as we were friends. Then some things happened that made me think that he loved me, and at that point I was completely and hopelessly in love with him. For context, we slept together (not sex) multiple times, cuddling and holding each other and such things that could easily be mistaken as a romantic context. He'd push the hair out of my face and tuck it behind my ear, then trace my jawline/caress my cheeks, etc. He'd pull me back into bed if I had to get up, we'd hold hands while spooning, things like that. Needless to say, I was frustrated so I told him how I felt and how the things we were doing confused me. He said he just went with it because he didn't know what to do. So I asked if he ever once felt anything, and he said no, but later said that he did feel things, but that he'd pushed them away because they felt wrong. I then asked, later in that phone call, "you'll never see me that way, right?" He responded with, word for word, "would it be unfair of me to say no? I'm not saying things could change, but if I say yes, I won't see you that way now and then let's say a year down the line, I do feel things, you'd think I'm full of shit, right?" Eventually he said yes, he'd never see me that way because I told him I needed closure and we ended the call around 2 am. I went to my friend to cry, then I got a call at 4 in the morning because he needed me again so I went over (I know, stupid move, but I was so terribly in love that I did it anyway). Anyway, we had another conversation where we talked more about how to proceed from there. He begged to stay friends, saying things like the last thing he wanted was for us to be cold and distant. I agreed, but told him I needed time and space to heal. Later, though, he started acting distant so I stopped talking to him altogether. It also didn't help that I found out that he was victimizing himself behind my back. I still see him staring at me across the room sometimes. I don't feel anything anymore, I don't love him, but I'm still haunted by our memories. By his ghost. I've tried writing journals, I've focused on myself. Frankly I haven't felt this good about myself in years; I'm exploring a new career that I actually love and enjoy, I've revisited my hobbies, I've made new friends and reconnected with old ones. I exercise, I take care of my physical and mental needs. I am doing great. But why does he still linger in the back of my mind? Will I ever stop thinking about it? How do I move on from something that never happened?

2023.06.01 08:42 Sukkarat I lost my finger in an accident, what are some good ways to cope with it?

I don't know a better place to post this/ask for advice, it doesn't have to be professional, I just want to know if anyone knows ways to cope with such loss, whether or not you have been through a similar incident or not.
A few days ago, my finger was severed off in a work related accident at about the halfway point and could not be reattached by doctors. I'm still a young person (18) and am having a rough time with the thought that I will have to live the rest of my life with one less finger on my hand. It's not my dominant hand, but what's left of the finger has very nasty and deep wounds on it. I know I won't be able to go back to work for a long time (I work a construction job) and that my finger will end up looking pretty nasty even when it heals. I'm happy that I didn't lose more than one, but I'm still upset about it and need some advice on how to deal with it.
Can anyone help a fingerless patient out?

I've noticed that most products (from fruit, veggies, cookies and etc) are wrapped individually 1 by 1 despite multiple of them being in the same packet, or being part of the same product line up, for instance: meiji melty kisses, there are many of them in one box but each piece is wrapped in plastic, to add, they do this form of packaging for a lot of snacks or finger foods including fresh produce by using so much plastic.
It all comes down to the culture of cleanliness, as they have a fear of food being tampered with, as due to this incident which an anonymous caller notified the parties involved that he tampered with Glico's products with a dangerous substance, as this case remains unsolved since 29 years ago. This may be one of the factors why Japan developed a fixation on wrapping literally most food items 1 by 1 instead of grouping them together.

2023.06.01 08:41 Itza_me_x I (f27) am terrified after my first sleep paralysis episode- literally crying

My boyfriend who has lived with me for almost 2 years went to work early morning and woke me up as he usually does to say goodbye and to give me a kiss.
I went back to sleep. Suddenly I could hear him downstairs jingling his keys and so I shouted to him “love you” but realised nothing was coming out I was able to open my eyes slightly but still unable to speak. I closed my eyes again and then heard him in our room jingling his keys and grabbing stuff from the dresser I tried to open my eyes and ask what he was doing but every time I finally managed to half open my eyes I realised he wasn’t there. I went back to sleep. Then I could hear the keys but suddenly felt his arms wrap around me in bed like he was spooning me. I could physically feel his arms but I couldn’t turn around and I couldn’t speak. I used all my strength to look around and suddenly something that I thought was him was on top of me. But I finally was able to speak and said “you are not real who the fuck are you” and went to strangle him where he suddenly disappeared and I was able to wake up fully.
I have literal goosebumps, I feel sick and exhausted and called my boyfriend who is in the car and said he never came back. This is the first time this has ever happened to me and I’m terrified- I can’t go back to sleep now because I’m scared it will happen again.
TLDR- first time sleep paralysis where I could hear someone in my room who I thought was my boyfriend and it hugged me from behind in my bed - I couldn’t talk or move and I’m terrified

2023.06.01 08:41 Accurate-Access-5698 ADVICE NEEDED: am I a procrastinator or an over-achiever?

While I know that a lot of young people go through the same, I don't know the proper term for this, so I came here to find an answer, hopefully.
I've always been an A+ student at school, I was able to keep my grades high my freshman year of college, then came my sophomore year and it turned bad. My grades dropped from A to a C, which is not that bad honestly, but the main reason why it happened is cause I just don't wanna go to classes. I'm also working a part-time tutoring job. I'm not sure if it's laziness, procrastination, or something else.
The real problem is not the grades, but that I feel absolutely terrible because of it. Like I'm a disappointment, everyone is doing better than me, and I'm going to regret it later. I don't know how to shake off these feelings, but at the same time, I feel like I don't have the energy to do better.
Also, important detail - there is an active ongoing war in my country, I can't say it affects me much now, but I defo have a light form of PTSD. The thing is that everyone in my uni is going through the same stuff, so nobody gives you more time to complete your assignments and some of my classmates are doing better than me.
I don't know how to deal with this feeling of wanting better grades and torturing yourself for the bad ones, while not having the energy and desire to show up to a class. Maybe I'm just lazy and need a reality check - please share your thoughts.

I have a question regarding the entire business structure of the Star Suites residences. They seem to have lots of operators to rent out their service apartments and for some reason, from the said operators, there are more middlemen to go through to be able to get a room. The chosen operator is Star Sky Park KLCC, however, when i got to the counter, theres another agent to assist us with everything. The agent only accepts cash up front and writes a paper receipt before getting us the room key. The counter operator gives us the key. The company behind this operation is caller A.R. Hospitality Services. I have googled them but it only shows an Indonesian company. If anyone has any idea on how their operating system works. Also, in KL, service apartments agencies are usually located in a same building, why is that?

Let's imagine we stage a "trial" for judging the best way to decipher the origin of Judaism and Jews.
The judge is a fictional 100% honest and just individual, who will only operate by logic and common sense. The witnesses are an atheist and a religious Jew, each presenting their point of view on the topic of the Sinai Revelation.
This WON'T touch upon the topic of "God", though, just upon "the historical origin of Judaism".
Here we go.

Judge: We know for a fact that Judaism and Jews exist today, so let's hear your explanations on where those factual concepts came from.

Jew: Well, we have a very detailed account of how that happened in the Torah itself (with some commentaries, which we Jews hold being an integral part of the Torah as well). It tells us that:
a. It involves 600k (almost precise) male Hebrews of the age 20-60, which is approximately the total of 3mil (approximation based on the previous number having families) of Hebrews of all ages and genders.
b. They came to the Sinai Desert (precise) and encamped near the Sinai Mountain (unknown).
c. On the 6th day (precise) of the Jewish month Sivan (precise) of the year 2448 since Creation (precise) there was the revelation of the Ten Commandments (precise), and it followed up into writing of the entire Torah (opinions on the precise timing over the next 40 years).
d. The factual writing of the entire Torah text (precise) was performed by Moses in person (precise) and then transmitted to that generation's elders (precise) and the entire Hebrew nation of that time (almost precise). The text of the Torah from that time and till our days has never been changed (barring minor insignificant grammatical errors in some Jewish communities, at least until the advent of the easy travels and Internet).
This is the Jewish (precise) explanation to how come there is Judaism, the Torah and the Jews in existence.

Judge: And now let's hear what the other side has to say, shall we?

Atheist: Well, let's see:
a. I have no idea who wrote the current Torah text (unknown), but we know that all religions are man-made (assumption), so the same must be true about Judaism (assumption).
b. I have no idea where it happened (unknown), but we know that the Jews are just Canaanites who slowly reduced the number of their gods from many to just one (assumption).
c/d. I have no idea when the Torah text was written in its current form (unknown), but we know that it might have been invented by some Jewish king who was ruling over Israel that had been an explicitly Jewish country for centuries by then (unknown plus baseless assumption).
Look, can we just outright say that there isn't and can't be God (biased presupposition), and be done with the whole waste of my time, please?

Characters: Look, I'm someone who aspires to be a writer, I've been trying to make “perfect” characters for years, therefore, I always make characters with PERSONALITY, COHERENCE, and THAT IS INTERESTING IN THE ROLE, so I look for characters that comply with that, I don't want the typical for him to play (example) a prince who is arrogant, at the minute he is cute and cares about everyone, this and that. Leaving that aside, normally my characters are not dominant (How do I explain this without sounding weird? XD) Well, normally my characters when it comes to gay characters, I prefer to take the submissive position (Amino traumas, people) and in the straight roles, I prefer to be a girl, if it's lesbian characters, I usually don't care because of my lack of experience in that area. A little extra, but I typically only use OC characters, that is, created by me, I can use a photo that looks cute on you without any problem (Although I typically prefer to choose myself, it's kind of… I like to choose photos that I barely see, feel that they tell me their story XD) I can choose names that you like and so on, but I prefer a character totally made by me and for me, than a PJ that has a history, life and so on, especially if I don't know her, I just don't know what to answer, and I get stuck and bored. Plot Here I am not someone so… Obsessed? With the plots, I mean, yeah, they're important and all, but I honestly think I can role-play almost any kind of story as long as it relapses into clichés and doesn't get repetitive and boring. Now yes, with my greatest respect to all the people who role-play like that, I certainly cannot tolerate plots that are always about sex, or where incest or pedophilia are constant, I can't stand it, I can tolerate constant sex between PJ', for my sake. Good (Xd) but there is something else in the plot apart from that, please. Development: I already talked about this but… It is what matters most to me in terms of feeling good role-playing. With this section, I just want to make it clear that… BE CONSISTENT AND DO NOT DESPERATE. I like long roles, that leave feelings when they are played, where I get attached to the PJ, you to mine, where the plot is understood, A WELL DONE THING. Please, don't come to me with a plot that is role-played in two days, I want something that is long-lasting, and that we both enjoy. File Firstly, I want to make a lot of things clear regarding my roles, I don't normally care about the tokens, I'm happy with a photo or detailed description, and then the visible or necessary data. I can role-play with people who just send me the photo and name, and after that, describe everything my PC can see. 2023.06.01 08:39 jubbagalaxy anxiety/stress is overwhelming and the last straw was a broken a/c.

i get that i'm privileged to live in a house with a/c when many don't. i noticed tuesday night when coming back from a doctor's appointment that the house was hotter than it should have been, especially since we replaced the whole unit last year when it fully died. so i got up way earlier than my usual, to call the hvac company who confirmed that the part in our basement was leaking coolant, but the tech did not have the parts nor the time to fix it today. he topped off the coolant to last us today (which it did thankfully) but now i have to get up way early again (5.5hrs from now) to call them to get someone out today to fix fix it.
3 things are complicating this: 1. i have to call social security after i call the hvac people and i've been trying for the last 4 non-holiday business days to speak to a human but have had to hang up to go to other doctor's appointments, run errands, etc. i started a very part time remote job recently and despite asking for help, i was told i'd get a call back but never did. 2. i have yet another medical appointment to go to and won't be here after 2ish pm. 3. when i told my stroke-victim mother's partner he'd need to be available for them to come after 2, i was told if they couldn't come in the morning or while i was still here, they'd have to come ON A DIFFERENT DAY because he was going to lunch with his daughter. and i'm livid because he did not tell me he was going anywhere despite my appointment being on the calendar for 6 weeks and this is A FUCKING EMERGENCY!
me, my mom, and he are all medically fragile, but fuck me if i get overheated, right? my mom, who he calls "his sweetie" is also now taking two ssri's that cause heat intolerance. so fuck if i live, but he should care about her enough to get this sorted but no. the other thing is, i can't change this appointment and he's unwilling to change his very-easy-to-change plans, and this will leave my bed-bound disabled mother alone for several hours which i'm not comfortable doing.
this is all exacerbated by me starting a job where a lot more responsibility than i can handle with my anxiety being given to me already, my ssi payments being messed up because i can't fill out this form because social security never called me back when i requested help, and if feels like i'm drowning on dry land in a drought. i need help but have literally no local support people. my therapist said i should consider scaling back work till i can get health things and social security sorted, which i have formally asked for. but i just feel like absolute shit mentally and physically and have been recently diagnosed with OSA and lymphedema and its just...a lot.

I am offline(commuting/working) M-F 630AM-6PM PST. Right now I'm the only player on my server. I have made a fire near a wagon with some dirt blocking the rain and that's it. Traveled maybe 5 minutes from spawn. I've fired some pots and advanced a little bit in single player, so I'm not a complete noob, but I want to play multiplayer and learn the game. It's a default NA/Los Angeles server with 10 slots. Time stops when nobody is on the server. Posting this on Wednesday, but won't kick in to high gear until Friday after dinner.
None of my friends want to try this game. We often play Divinity Original Sin 2, but one friend gets so drunk he attacks friendly characters or turns one of us into a chicken. I've been struggling with sobriety for 7 years, so I'm not putting up with that. No crazy requirements or application other than playing sober. I'm far from perfect, but I'm trying to grow my sober circle to spend time with. I'm 33, male, not looking for relationships because I'm focusing on being happy on my own. Friendships are welcome! Anyone who has gone through addiction knows how lonely it can be, so I'm reaching out to find some people who want to play this game.
I'm mainly an alcoholic and pothead, but I have been in groups with narcotic users and sex addicts, so whatever your d.o.c. is, you're welcome to join my server. We just try to be better people, and that's what we have in common (which is really fucking cool). 2023.06.01 08:39 xievictor12 Introducing cats that were socialized in the same house at different times

So funnily enough these two feral cats(born in the wild, though personalities are not very feral) are actually twins, both around 3 years old. You can see them on our instagram(https://instagram.com/place_of_gathering?igshid=MzNlNGNkZWQ4Mg==)where we keep track of all the strays/ferals in the abandoned lot. Their names are Agora and Gummy.
Basically, the friendlier twin was socialized by us 4 months ago and behaves like a housecat at this point. We sent him to a friend's apartment for catsitting, and he acclimated in just about 2 days, and strangers can usually pet him now.
During the time he was being taken care of by our friend, the other twin was trapped, fixed, and we've been working on socializing him. They had a brief overlap of about 5 days, but during this time we kept the new cat in a crate, and used a room divider and did not let the two cats interact at any point. Now we've had about 2 weeks with the new cat only - but the process was very different. This new cat would cry at night for hours, and though he actually got comfortable with petting sooner, the crying behavior still remains to this day. Nowadays, he might start crying at some point between midnight-2am, and usually I'll get up to distract him with a treat, a few pets, cat hemp/melatonin, and he'll settle down.
One big difference between the two is that the 1st cat used to claim the couch in the center of the room and was very active and comfortable. The new cat has gotten more comfortable, but tends to stay on only one side of the room(think a room the size of two studio apartments). The other biggest difference, besides the crying, is that the new cat does not play yet. We've been trying and have made a little progress, but nothing that really resembles play.
My girlfriend wants to re-introduce the cats tomorrow, but im worried there is too much to account for. The old cat will probably have forgotten the layout of his old home and will be a little scared. Meanwhile the new cat isn't even confident enough to play yet, which makes me think another cat showing up will also be reason for fear and regression. I do have feliway multicat but it is just a large studio apartment - we don't have separate rooms and the bathroom is too small. Please all, let me know your thoughts. Thanks

2023.06.01 08:38 Responsible-Camp5834 Guy I know in college was just red flagged by the school

So after you have read that post, I just wanna say. I started avoiding the guy because all the crazy things he was doing. Well, he was red flagged a week ago. Before we get to the incident, I just wanna say that after all the things he had done to ppl, he still had the nerves to ask for their help and wanted to be roommates with them. Anyways.
Apparently, it was so bad that even people from other dorms have heard of the incident. Basically, he came back to his dorm, and started throwing a tantrum. He then proceeded to pray to God to kill his roommate. At this point, his roommates are already used to him threatening to kill them all the time, so they just told him if he was gonna cuss him, he should do it outside. He also went through a list of names of people that he's gonna yknow like potentially kill, and voila, I'm like the 8th guy on the list. the first 7 are all ppl from his hall.
Sure, he goes outside, and then he starts going ham. He starts ranting how everyone is shit, how girls are shit, because he gets rejected all the itme (no shit ur personality is ass). He just calls girls hoes. Basically an incel. He starts slamming the chairs and tables. Then, he starts shouting slurs everywhere, like basically the worst of the worst, and even the nword. Idk why the school finally bothered to take action when he said the nword but not when he wanted to kill his roommate. Anyways, the RA came and was scared, so she called the Resident Director.
They come down and start to try to calm him down but it was futile. He just keeps talking about how shitty his roommates are. Eventually he ddi calm down. Btw, this all happened during 2am where half of the ppl are asleep, so it woke everybody up. Later, he was red flagged because they interviewed his roommates who revealed his murderous tendencies and his anger issues. He was removed from the dorm to a private room.
Now, I havent talked to this guy since March, and then I suddenly meet him in the dining hall. I talked to him a bit but I went to sit with some other guys instead of sitting with him. He later comes up and ask why Ive been avoiding him. One of the guy sitting with me also knows him (he's the 7th guy on the hitlist), and this unhinged guy just completely ignores him. At first, I wanted to lie to him, but nobody told him the truth. Everybody just avoided him and no one told him the truth. So I decided to tell him the truth. That I dont hate him cuz he hasnt done anything to me specifically, but I told him you cant go around threatening to kill ppl, and how his behaviors and attitude are problematic. I told him that I'd still be fine with hanging out with him if he changes, but I dont think he cares, and he just left.
His now ex-roommates told me that he probably just hate me for telling him that, and he wont give a shit about all the things I told him. I thought that at least I tried. Voila, I later realized he blocked me everywhere. I dont really care but this guy taught me an important lesson. That not everyone can be fixed and some people are just psychotic. I truly hope he does learn from his mistakes, and if he doesn't, eventually someone will give him a reality check,
TL;DR Guy from my last rant threatened to kill his roommate and also cussed a shitload of racial slurs while wrecking the lounge. Gets red flagged and removed from the dorms. Proceeds to block me after I told him what he needed to change.

2023.06.01 08:38 NewWorldExperiences Weird but exciting news

So I wanted to post this here as only you guys would understand why I kinda feel weird about this as our parents wanted us to stay an age where they can control us forever and tbh part of my brain is telling me that I should not be happy about this but I am so onto my little excitement rant.
In thirteen hours I'm going to pick up my little brother from his first day at freshman academy (he is a high schooler now) and I can't wait for him to tell me all about it, if he enjoyed it, if he didn't, what he did, any friends he made, teachers he likes. I'm so excited for him to be moving onto high school, I'm looking forward to school supply shopping either with him or for him, I've tried to get him to come along in the past but he finds it boring so I try to get him things he likes, but also are good quality.
I'm excited for him to join the marching band as he is really good at tuba and I hope I'm reading this right and not projecting but I think he generally enjoys band. The day before the concert he was messaging me trying to get me to guess what songs they were going to play and after the concert he asked me if I liked it and told me his favorite piece to play and why but then he stopped when our mom came up and interrupted him by saying "this thing is stupid let's go home." She's been calling so many things that he may be interested in doing stupid or boring or she lies about them to him.
Like I tried to get him to do middle school band night so he can just get the experience see if he's interested in band as at the time I couldn't tell I told him I would be there all throughout the night (high school football game, parents/adults had to buy their own tickets if they wanted to stay with their child of course my mom saw it as a waste of money when it was my time for middle school band night. But I told him no matter what I would be there the whole night and we could find something to eat before or after. And he was so on board, but then my mom started her shit saying "oh she's lying, the first chance she gets she's going to run, she won't be there to watch you play, she doesn't wanna spend any time with you, she will leave you in a crowd of strangers and make you find your own way home" so he got scared which was reasonable and didn't wanna go anymore I tried to convince him otherwise but she was stuck in his head so I didn't force him.
For freshman academy she called it stupid and boring and she lied about how it's just going to be him doing senior level class work which was a lie. It's all just games and walking around campus so you get used to how it's laid out and don't get scared your first day. He was iffy on it so I bribed him, I don't know if you should bribe a kid or not to do something but I really wanted him to experience something with her flying around him. I also bribed him to get good grades as our mom would always call him stupid and lazy and pathetic which makes him not wanna do his homework or pay attention in school and when he came to me bragging about how he got over 100% in one class as he did so much extra credit to not only catch up but go over and he turned in all his late assignments as well.
He was so happy and giddy and I felt so proud of him showing off the grade to me "look look what I did look" are etched into my brain and it makes me so proud of him. He is so smart, but I don't know if it's adhd making him struggle, our mom or a mix. I also bribed him to do marching band as he was iffy on it, but I told him I'll give you x dollars if you do it he was in. I have a feeling he is going to hate the first few weeks but I'm going to try to have him go until his first game or competition whatever comes first before he makes the final decision to leave or not and I want to do my best to see him every game or after and support him the best I can.
My little brother is growing up and I am so proud of him, I can't wait to see the kind of person he turns out to be.
