Cannabis seeds are flooding New Zealand's mail system with 19,000 caught at the border this year alone.
One recent case, involving multiple packages containing more than 30 seeds each, resulted in a significant drug bust in the South Waikato with two men arrested.
The Class C drug is mainly being imported from the Netherlands and United Kingdom, Northern Ports NZ customs manager Dominic Adams said.

"These guys will import some seeds, we will seize them but before we have even had a chance to pass the information to police they will order some more," he said.

"That is the reason why we work very very closely with the NZ Police, particularly in the districts.
 "We see large fluctuations each year on seizure amounts so I wouldn't say it is less or more prevalent now compared to a number of previous years.

Senior Sergeant Jason Henderson said two Tokoroa locals were arrested recently following the execution of a search warrant at a house seeds were addressed to.
"At the house we found other drug related equipment and items of interest and just on 100 cannabis plants," he said.
Henderson said people try to import cannabis seeds to guarantee getting female plants.
"The female plants are the ones that grow the buds which hold the highest tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) but if you have a male plant anywhere near them, instead of growing a bud, they will go straight to seed.
"If you get seeds here in NZ chances are you might get a male which doesn't grow any buds so they are basically worth nothing and that is why they are importing them, they are guaranteed females," he said.
Adams said it was not worth the risk with New Zealand Customs and police coming down hard on importers.
 "My message is that it is best that you don't because either New Zealand Customs or the NZ Police will come knocking on your door and we will be asking questions as to why.
"The ramifications can be quite serious," he said.
The maximum penalty for importing, growing, cultivating and/or supplying cannabis is eight years imprisonment.

9 months after a court order, I am back to sleepless nights thinking of court. We were talking about working a plan out. Then this hits me.
Right now, we have equal/shared parental responsibilities (50/50) of a 2yo.
The other parent will be moving in two months due to the military. I have tried to find jobs close to other parent but it is quite out there.
Reading a copy of the motion, they are requesting 67% of the child’s time. This is a massive contrast to 2-2-3 that was ordered by the court. I am pretty taken aback considering they are always in the field.

Right now, we have equal/shared parental responsibilities (50/50) of a 2yo.
The other parent will be moving in two months due to the military. I have tried to find jobs close to other parent but it is quite out there.
Reading a copy of the motion, they are requesting 67% of the child’s time. This is a massive contrast to 2-2-3 that was ordered by the court. I am pretty taken aback considering they are always in the field.

i’ve jumped across different classes in the same community college after high school and have seen family members deal with student loans in front of me until they were 50 so i’m afraid of investing so much money on university if i had transferred and not even having any direction in what i wanna do in life , i know for a fact i have a lot of ptsd and trauma and want to be okay mentally as well but i get anxiety everyday knowing i still am so indecisive about what i’d like to pursue in life , i feel like time is slipping away, i really wanna pursue something i can find healing in as corny as that may sound, i feel as if i chose something in the art realm i’ll be able to healthily express myself while being sober since i’ve been trying to be sober recently and quit smoking herb, im just over trying to cram my classes in my unhealed head and normalizing smoking herb to cope, id much rather just be sober like i am right now and even try to learn some techniques in art , something that keeps spinning in my head is the idea of having my own art studio, i feel like i could genuinely be happy making something with my hands i put my blood sweat tears in , i feel like i could heal too , i want to try taking some lamp work & torch sculpting classes because i’ve always gravitated towards making jewelry and i already run a small vintage business on my insta but i want to re direct that energy to my passion and run a small business selling perhaps pieces i made and poured my heart into instead of clothing even tho that’s my main source of income right now , i just wanna express myself through something i can create i feel like i can find it therapeutic and find peace and happiness in a future little art studio one day

Carini - Deploying an array of instruments and effects, including the theremin and bass effects, the band uses these tools to create a lush, densely textured and largely upbeat jam which -> to "Taste."
Taste - -> in from a excellent "Carini." Page is great in this version, which is also features Trey playing both a "Norwegian Wood" tease early in his solo, as well as the "NICU" riff signaling the concluding section. > to a strong "Ghost."
Boogie On Reggae Woman - Segues out of "Ghost" and includes some serious hose from Trey and reaches several satisfying peaks. Drops back into a funk groove for the last minute and the jam fades away into "If I Could".
If I Could - > in from a powerful "Boogie On." Heartfelt and thoughtfully executed version adds a graceful ending to an impressive string of improvisational music.

Divided Sky - Determined to make up for some serious flubs in the 5/31/11 version, Trey in this instance introduces some very cool and very different staccato playing during the jam section.
Rock and Roll - Another excellent version with an extended jam that at various times is rhythmic, melodic, spacious, and powerful. Segue to "Mango Song" continues to draw praise from fans.
Show Notes:
This show marked the Phish debut of Rhymes. Antelope contained Meatstick, Bug, and Divided Sky teases. Suzy also contained Meatstick teases. After Bug, the crowd chanted "Let's Go Bruins" prompting the band to play in rhythm with the crowd's clapping. During the "Rye Rye Rocco" segment of Antelope, Trey introduced Fish as "Ladies and Gentlemen, on cymbal, Jon Fishman!" after he had missed the band's unified stop in the song.

Fee - Like 7/5/98, a vocal flub leads to an extended outro jam that quickly moves beyond the norm. Page's ambient effects and Trey's use of the whammy pedal combine to create a jam reminiscent of the late '90's sound.
Sand - One of the first great jams of 3.0. This version contains an old-school groove which goes "type 2" via a funk jam and an uplifting conclusion by way of a repetitive, descending riff from Trey.
Tweezer - The "Camden Tweezer." Old school, repetitive, amazing groove. Like a '92-'94 version.
Show Notes:
After forgetting the lyrics to Fee, Trey remarked that "We knew this one backstage." This show marked the debuts of Sugar Shack and Joy. Before the extended encore, Trey asked, "You guys in a rush to go anywhere?" He then talked about how much they had enjoyed the northeast run and that they wanted to play a few more songs before heading south (though he was careful to note that they love the south, too).

Possum - Several sections have a bleak and desolate tone, especially from 4:30 - 5:45, but the foreboding sentiment returns later.
Taste - Debut. Jam section features the same spiraling Trey and Page musicianship, but the lyrics, vocalist, and ending would remain a work in progress for another year. "The Fog That Surrounds" and "Taste That Surrounds" are both very similar (related) songs performed in 1995 as the band tinkered with the format for "Taste." See the song history for "Taste" on this site for more information.
The Wedge - "The Wedge" reemerges to close a 135 show gap. Notable principally for the now-familiar Fish-driven intro, this compact version also features cool and confident play from Trey.
Theme From the Bottom - Jam section has an unusual, repeated descending chord progression. At 8:20, it morphs into a creepy, nerve-rattling jam, returning to "Theme" proper at 9:55. The quality versions from 6/25/95 and 7/1/95 have a similar descending chord structure.

I’m about to attend my first retreat in the Amazon and do 3-4 ceremonies plus smoke the toad if I can find the courage. For my first experience it felt right to make a pilgrimage to a reputable retreat in the Amazon. Although they were very tempting since I decided to bypass some of the more spa like options in Mexico and Costa Rica.
Assuming it all goes well and I decide to do some follow on work with Ayahuasca, I’m wondering if there’s a more practical way to do that work other than heading back to Iquitos from New York.

- Has anyone done it that way and if so can you comment on whether you lost something by not going back to a ‘real’ retreat outside the U. S? Is it realistic to think that follow on ceremonies could be effective and helpful if done over a long weekend in say Florida, Maine or upstate NY, etc?
- If so, can you recommend any places I should research along the Eastern Seaboard that might have shorter retreats for a long weekend, etc.

I’m a F working in the Bollywood Film industry since about 2019 second half. Have always wanted to work behind the camera, is what I told my dad & to my luck got my first gig right on the day of my last diploma lecture.
I was over the moon when I was selected for an internship for a film, with a well known director & a known face. It took me a while to convince my mom to be okay with what I was pursuing because c‘mon as we all know Bollywood hasn’t had the best of years recently. It even came to a point wherein she sobbed that I had to work in the industry & as I was about to leave for the shoot, I was like I can’t do this, I can’t make her cry. But then, my dad pushed me to go ahead & that he’ll convince her.
Fast forward to, I completed my shoot & already got offered another series. But then, the dreaded Covid hit. Everything’s shut for 6-7 months. Things start to open up & now I got offered another series. Took it, moved on & kept getting offers.
Then came 2022, a year that was slow & made me learn a lot of things. Completed a shoot internationally & that’s when things realllllyyyyy slowed down for me. Around May, got offered a project & it was about to go on floors in 3 months like the usual prep time. But, the shoot kept getting pushed until 2023 first half. I was a part of the project as they had kept me on a retainer. At the beginning, it was nice that you get paid for not much work but by ‘22 year end it started to hit me that I’ve invested half of the year on this project & it’s nowhere near completion. But still, I begin my NY with a positive attitude & look forward to completing this shoot. But to my fate, it gets pushed yet again & this time mid year all of the people who were retained were laid off overnight (our industry doesn’t work with a 1 month notice) Though, we were compensated with a 7 day notice fee.
It’s been a month almost & me or my colleagues haven’t got any opportunity & now its taking a toll. Freelancing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It was all cherry & roses in the beginning but after a while it hits you hard. I’m itching to work, to go on shoots, to be occupied. I’ve enjoyed working on sets, it used to make me happy despite it being extremely tiring as we work 18/20 hours at times depending on the shifts & work.
The whole boycott gang thingy has affected really bad. It affects the ones working behind. Not the actors. They already have money. It’s us freelancers who work on a day to day basis that it affects. I’ve messaged all my known friends in the industry if there’s an opening but can hardly see a ray of light. With people choosing to ditch cinemas, you think you’re affecting the producers & actors but in reality it’s the 300 people working behind the camera that it really affects. Because, Producers don’t put in their money & hence can’t employ us. Projects have really slowed down.
So it’s easy for people sitting behind the screens to say boycott but imagine the day when the tables turn, the level of helplessness you will be under.
I agree to the fact that the content too has gone downhill but by boycotting you’re not giving a chance to the films that actually are really good. So next time, fellow Redditors do give films a chance & for 0.01% think about people like us :)

I currently own a masterbuilt digital vertical smoker and love it, but I am looking at adding a pellet grill to the arsenal this father's day. I am hoping the higher heat range will give me a good bit more versatility in my cooking. My cooking is generally just for my wife, toddler, and myself so I'm not sure that I need a large grill, although I'm sure it would be nice when we have company. I still have the vertical smoker if the need to smoke 4+ racks of ribs or 2+ pork butts arises. My intention is to use the pellet grill for smaller, shorter cooks. I am wanting something entry level and I am looking at options from three different makes. My only real requirement is that the grill have a sear or broiler type of function where I can open grates in the drip pan.
I have my eyes on the Pit Boss Lexington or Austin XL, Z Grills 450A, and the Expert Grill 28" pellet grill from Walmart. I saw the PB Austin and the Expert Grill in person today at Wally World and both looked to be decent units. Seems to be pretty limited reviews on the Expert Grill, but it seemed like a great value for the price ($277). Are these known to be junk? I like the Pit Boss models but I'm unsure what size would make more sense. Additionally, my WalMart has a damaged package PB Laredo 1000 discounted to $497, so I wonder if it's worth the extra cost over the Austin XL model.
I am open to suggestions regarding the options that I have listed as well as any alternates in the sub $500 range that are worth looking at. Thank you!

Lately I’ve been smelling weed when I go on a walk in my neighborhood. From people chiefing in their backyards, to people blowing smoke out their cars & sometimes as they pass by me with their vapes. It’s everywhere.
And suddenly I start to wonder if I’m strong enough to get lit “just for a day”. Eventually common sense kicks and I ultimately know that if I break my two year sobriety for one little time, I will absolutely fall off the wagon.
Does this feeling ever go away?

Okay, so, I have known my partner (35m) for around a decade. Best friends for 10+ years and have been together for nearly a year. I know this man better then any of my other friends, we’ve spent hours and hours countlessly together. I have known his exes, all of which speak highly of him, except for one. Which is his most recent ex partner.
My partner & I began seeing each other casually around 3-4 months after he split with his ex partner.
Now he was with this said ex from August til December. So, a good four months. In this time, she threw tables at him, threatened him, accused him of cheating on her with every woman- even family members and also, accused him of hacking into her devices & watching her via a router in her wall that she believes he had installed but she couldn’t find. She also accused him of selling her “internet” to 67 different countries (oddly specific I know) and selling photoshopped pictures of her and her son to the Russian government. Now, I know all of those allegations have come directly from her mouth because she has said them to me & my family. She was a single mother who seemed kind and sweet when he met her, however things quickly changed.
I was around a lot during this time so I have first hand seen her outbursts & how she treats her son & my partner ( back then just friend.) Now, she has been obsessed with my partner since they broke up. Constantly trying to contact him, antagonise him ect. He has ignored her as he wanted to just move on.
We never thought it would come to this.. Things had gone quiet for a few months, we were thankful. She lives a good 5+ hrs away so we never have to worry about seeing her, however, the other day we were out at dinner, after we ate we went onto the balcony of the restaurant to have a drink & we seen a friend of hers who we knew lived in our city. The friend was sitting not to far away from us, has picked up her phone & dialed his ex, stating very loudly “ You’ll never guess who is here redacted and he is with her.” She got up and walked out of the balcony area that we were sitting at, I was absolutely furious but my partner just said to ignore their childish games nothing will come from it. We shrugged it off.
The next day, my partner gets a call from a supposed friend of hers, stating that he was an IT professional & friend of said ex partner who had been in contact with him stating my partner was hacking into her bank, Facebook ect. After a chat, the friend of hers that called even agreed with my partner that he is worried about her mental health and thinks she may be suffering from some sort of drug paranoia, as he stated that he has heard she has been hanging with a new crowd and smoking Methamphetaime. My partner said he hopes her mental health is okay & she gets the help she needs for her & her son but he has moved on and just wants to have zero contact with her or anyone she’s around and definitely has not hacked her accounts.
Obviously her IT friend has relayed this information back to her because 24 hours later, a car rocks up at my partners brothers house. It was supposed detectives in an unmarked car from the domestic violence unit investigating into allegations made by his ex partner. They were looking for my partner. They didn’t state there was an arrest warrant or anything of that sort, but they stated they needed to find him & speak to him. His brother was a bit worried and let us know straight away. As we have recently moved, his brother didn’t know our address and stated he hadn’t seen him in person in quite a while which is the truth. We were confused as to why they hadn’t called my partner and why they went to his family members house. So now, here I am, writing this & worried as hell that my partner could potentially be charged with something he hasn’t done over false DV accusations. He is a very sweet, down to earth person. I’ve seen her physically assault him, verbally assault him & threaten to ruin his life multiple times until he had enough and left. He isn’t too worried as he said there can’t be any proof because he hasn’t done anything but I, on the other hand am worried. She worked for an IT company & worked a lot with software manipulation ect & what if she frames him? I don’t know. What should we do from here? I feel like I’m going to be sick. I can’t stop shaking. How can they let this happen?
TDLR: My boyfriends ex has falsely accused him of DV, hacking, fraud and several other things & now detectives are investigating him. I don’t know what to do.
