2023.06.02 15:17 static48 I need advice?
This is very long- so thank you to anyone who takes the time to actually read it all.
Currently, my husband and I are living with his parents with our 3 children. My MIL is from hell and has been abusive the entire time we have been living with them. I work in healthcare- my husband works from home. I can’t obtain a full time job where we live because I won’t get the covid booster shot. I have already gotten both doses of the Moderna, but had a serious reaction to it and my doctor refuses to allow me to get another shot. I have had my doctor write letters and I have submitted medical exemption requests to the occupational health and HR departments of 3 hospital systems in the state and they have all denied me employment. Because it is a state regulated mandate, private organizations have the right to either terminate employees or deny medical/religious exemptions if they choose to do so. I have consulted with an attorney and my lawyer said that I can sue these companies but it’s not going to help me get a full time job out of them once I slap them with a lawsuit.
So it leaves me unable to work. I have been offered jobs in other states where this requirement no longer exists. After a long period of time, I have finally found a way to come to terms with the fact that I am going to need to move away. That’s fine - but here is the problem.
I have been sucking it up and living with an abusive person and literally tortured my life for MONTHS. It got so bad that my one child threatened to commit suicide and is now in intensive treatment/therapy. Before you say anything about me keeping him in this environment, there is a reason for my madness. Living with them has finally offered me the ability to save $ for the first time in my life with 3 children. Since I have only been able to rent in my life, I finally have enough $ to afford a down payment to buy my children their own house. We have lived in 10 different houses over the course of the past 12 years of our marriage, due to always being kicked out of our rental. It was never our doing (we always paid our rent on time). It was always either the owner wanting to occupy the house again or then wanting to sell it. That is why we have been living with my in-laws, to begin with. We got kicked out of our previous house due to the owner wanting to sell it. Ofcourse, again. My kids need a stable home, and so do I. I just can’t live like this anymore. I want him to have some level of stability and not be told that they haveto go to a new school again because we have to move. AGAIN.
I have been looking for houses with my husband in this new state so that I can start one of the job offers and the deadline is quickly approaching. We have put in many offers on houses and haven’t won a single one.I have started searching for a rental, but I have a big issue with this. Let me try to explain it in a way that others can understand…
I have put up with the torture of an abusive individual for nearly a year just to save money to provide my children with stability. Every single time we have gotten a rental, they require close to $10,000 for the deposit, and we never get all of it back when we have to move out. These scum bag landlords find “reasons” to always keep the $ and not haveto return the security deposit. Out of the 9 houses we have rented, we only got a partial refund of our security deposit from one of them, and that was only because we took the dude to court and we won! We didn’t have the $ or the time to sue each of them, one by one. But the last one, we did actually follow through with and we won the case.
Being that I have put up with so much agony just to save this little bit of $, I am extremely overprotective of it and I don’t want to let it go so easily. I saved all of this $ on my own by going to work while living here, before the booster shot became a mandatory requirement and just kept working to put it away. That is how we are now affording housing. I know that it’s not a lot of $, but I worked REALLY hard for it and I am proud of myself for enduring such a horrible living situation but doing it for the best interests of my children.
So now I need advice on what to do. I really don’t want to turn this $ over to some landlord and never see that $ again. But, we haven’t won any of the offers on the houses we have found. How can I keep this job offer and start the job in the other state without having to spend every single penny I have saved and blow it on a rental? It doesn’t help that my husband has been super picky about the house as well and won’t budge on many of the ones I have found that were decent. Would you suggest that I consider the other job offers in other areas that might possibly have better housing options available? Would you give up on this particular job offer (the one that I really want to do the most) and look for housing near the others? It’s not like I don’t have other job offers available. I do. It’s just that this particular one is giving me a really good sign-on bonus ($40k) that I intended to use for future investments. I have to commit to working there for 2 full years to receive all of the funds as they are broken up into payments. The other two job offers are giving me $15k and $5k, respectfully. These are commitment bonuses to retain medical staff in facilities. The offer for the $5k one really won’t be much after taxes, so it’s not going to help much towards savings. The $15k one is in a state that I am not too keen on living in because there is literally that one hospital and then no others in the surrounding areas. So I feel it limits my options should I not really like that facility too much. I’ll kinda be stuck there with no alternatives and I won’t be able to move again.
I guess what I am trying to figure out is do I need to give up this offer and consider other ones because I can’t find housing? Or should I find a way to accept that I need to get a rental and be “OK” with giving over all of the $ I have struggled so hard to save? I just know my luck and I never get any of it back. I also don’t want to go through moving again. I want my kids to finally have a permanent home that they can count on me to keep them in and finally have us all, as a family, feel safe and happy.
Thank you to anyone who has read this. It really means a lot and I appreciate the help. Thank you so much!

2023.06.02 15:16 CaptainStinko Rain water dripping down furnace vent
We had a storm the other day with a lot of rain, and when I opened the furnace closet in the basement I noticed a lot of water on the ground. It's dripping from the pvc vents that run off the furnace and up through the roof. I wiped it up with a towel, left a towel down and put a bucket under where the pipes where for the night, but I'm just wondering who I should be calling about this today? Is this an hvac issue and should I be calling my hvac people? Or is this a roofing problem?
I'm also wondering if this is something we should be concerned about from a safety perspective. Beyond getting the leak fixed, should there be anything else I get them to look at while they're here?
I've included pics of the pvc pipes that the water is dripping from. They go up through the wall into the attic and out the roof. We're new to the house and the furnace was purchased within the last 10 years by the previous owners, but the house itself is from the 70's. We had a home inspector check the place before buying and had the furnace serviced after we moved in and neither mentioned anything crazy or wrong about the setup.

2023.06.02 15:16 WalkingTaco42 Looking for advice, IN eviction of 21 year old
This is in central Indiana, USA.
Backstory
My fiancee moved in with me at the start of November of last year. A couple of weeks after this, her daughter (21) moved in to to get a local job since she had just finished college. Neither fiancee nor daughter pay rent for my property in any way. Their only financial contribution has been to buy groceries (she was supporting another residence that was a rental owned by her father until this past May).
The daughter isn't a very nice person. She's aggressive and rude, but then will also flat-try to ignore me. Last night there was an incident where she made a rude comment at me, I let it go, then she went and indicated I had done something negative to my fiancee, who became involved like I was a bad person - which I just feel puts this over the top for me.
My fiancee also has another daughter (19) living with us over the summer until college is back in session in the fall. I don't have any problem with her.
Things with my fiancee haven't been the best in the past few months - I'm thinking our relationship is nearing an end. In some of our arguments, she's said "why don't you just ask me to move out?". But once she indicated that she believes I can't just ask her to leave because she's had things like her (and her daughters) mail switched to my address.
My problem
Since nobody is paying rent, do I just google/download an eviction form for my state and get them to sign it? I was thinking of declaring a month's timeline for them to find somewhere else to live. Is this detailed enough I should hire legal representation (or can I afford to wait and see if they are being uncooperative first before I have to worry). Ideally I just want to setup something that even if they are wanting to play dirty I'm protected with some reasonable ending.
tl;dr:
My fiancee and daughter have been living in my house in Indiana since last Nov 2022. They have not paid any sort of rent/utility bill, but have established the house as their address with things like the post office. If we decide we are truely done with each other, looking for a good way to establish a reasonable "get out" timeline.
House is 100% in my name and I am the only person that contributes to the mortgage, utilties and expenses of the house.

2023.06.02 15:16 Unethical-Vibrant56 [H] Gift any xbox game [W] PayPal/Offers
I want 75% of PayPal for the price of an Xbox game but this percentage is negotiable - please don’t bother lowballing me
I can buy Xbox games with my gift balance I have. I can also show proof of all balance but you need to have rep for me to show you the balance so u can’t use it to scam people and so that I know I’m not gonna get scammed. Don’t bother sending a straight DM because I already know about you filthy scammers! Comment before DM. I have around £140 max balance and we can negotiate how much PayPal you pay for an Xbox game or something.
I can go first if you have a lot of rep but if you have only two or something reps I want you to pay first g&s then I gift you. Only gifting to Xbox gamer tags directly because scammers don’t want to get their Xbox gamertag exposed. Obviously gonna be checking if the account is used or not to avoid getting scammed with a fake Xbox gamertag
Steam games i am looking for: AC Syndicate, TABS, Total war rome, napoleon, and medieval 2, homefront 1 and 2, my little blacksmith shop, mist survival, house flipper, and paint the town in red.
Give me offers on games you got because this list isn’t really complete
The games are not in ranked order of what i want apart from AC Syndicate which is what i really want.

2023.06.02 15:15 Yeeyeetyall Back again for advice on the same stuff...
Dealing with sexual sin WHILE struggling with cptsd on sexual topics sucks.
I dissociate because I'll get triggered by something and then immediately run to porn after, do something sexual, come out of dissociation and regret it, feel gross and disgusting and living in constant fear that God will punish me for what I've done..
Every time I fall in to sin the day(s) after is always horrible simply because everything and anything will go wrong... it's gotten to the point where I'm now terrified to leave the house or talk to anyone in case something happens....

2023.06.02 15:15 EggYuk Prepping MDF to use outside - how?
I have a simple MDF cabinet that I put together myself some years ago for storing bits and pieces in a storage room inside the house. It's held together with woodscrews and glue, and is currently unpainted. I no longer need it for its original purpose, but would like to use it outside in the garden to store plant pots and similar items. Of course, it will be exposed to our usual range of rain, frost and occassional baking heat. I need to know: is using MDF like this even possible? Can I protect the MDF with some kind of paint?
I've Googled the matter, but after trawling endless clickbait articles with no real answer, or promotional sites masquerading as helpful blogs, I'm none the wiser. I've seen people suggest Hammerite, wood stain, varnish, fence paint, etc.
What's your view? Is there an effective way to protect my MDF for use outside?

2023.06.02 15:15 nikhilkkalra Guys, pls hear me out.
I have worked as a Copywriter for the last 4.5 yrs(2 yrs as a Vendor for Google and 2.5 yrs in an in-house marketing team for an emerging EdTech brand) and during the Edtech tenure(in the last 2.5 yrs) I have not been able to upskill myself for many reasons which still prevail but that's not going to change I'm sure.
Furthermore, I couldn't handle the workload and unsustainable expectations of the senior leadership in the last Edtech company as I got highlighted for all the wrong reasons in the first 8 months itself and thats why I needed to escape somehow as I had to start feeling dishonest and burned out in my work.
I was looking out for any other opportunity but wanted to move on from that environment ASAP and this led me to a role where now I have to work as a Google Ads specialist(again as a vendor for Google) and this has been overwhelming for the last one month.
Please guide me if I should continue or go back to the Copywriting space - but I don't have the courage to churn out creative ad punch lines and compelling emailers again n again. Have done over a dozen of webinars in the last 7 months.
Please tell me what I can and I must do to grow professionally.
What skills will this Google ads account manager teach me?

2023.06.02 15:15 static48 What would you do?
This is very long- so thank you to anyone who takes the time to actually read it all.
I have posted on here before regarding my home situation and how bad it is.

2023.06.02 15:15 throw-it-away82649 Being the parent home with the baby
I’ve been arguing recently with my partner about life at home with the baby vs him going out to work (England for reference).
I can’t tell if I am in the right or wrong about it. He is working 50+ hours per week in a semi-manual job (not sitting down all day but also not using much physical strength). He gets a 15 minute break every few hours and a good lunch break.
I am home with the baby and have the usual chores to do, laundry, cooking, cleaning, and generally ensuring that all members of the house have what they need for the next day.
I keep trying to get jobs done but as I get interrupted frequently (4.5 month old baby) I seem to run out of time easily and can end up doing a task which I didn’t even intend to start with just to feel I have accomplished something.
My partner has said that I am too much with the baby and should let them cry, also that I make too much of a deal about breastfeeding (making sounds when it’s uncomfortable, letting the baby feed until they unlatch themselves).
We don’t have any support around us hence the long hours my partner is working. What do others do in this situation?

2023.06.02 15:14 javelindesign My electrician went ballistic on me yesterday about back-stabbing outlets...
*** - I seem to have put this under the wrong sub-category, so am re-trying it here... ***
Dear Pro Electricians, I'm hoping you can take a minute to read this and weigh in.. first some background. We're rebuilding my mom's house down at the Jersey shore from ground up. In order to save money where I can, I'm doing some of the work myself - tile showers, paint, etc. - basically anything that doesn't involve safety or permitting. I get down to the project house about once a week and have made it a point whenever I'm down to introduce myself to the sub-contractors, chat with them and possibly even order lunches if the timing works out. I sincerely believe that if everyone is happy, they are more inclined to "go the extra mile" for you. Everything has been good and I considered myself on good terms with everyone until yesterday.
Our general contractor on the job said the electrician (we'll refer to him by the first letter of his name - "R") was looking for a final punch list because he didn't want to come back and back again to the job. I thought this was surprising as there were still a lot of obvious things to be done (missing can lights, no switch plates screwed yet, etc.), but nonetheless I went through the house and tried to find all the issues I could. I sent a mulit-paragraph text to R and the GC outlining things I saw floor by floor.. I also included at the end of the punch list this: - "Also, I'm very disappointed to see that the outlets have all been backstabbed.. it's widely known to be an inferior method."
Well H-O-L-Y... the the next afternoon around 5:30, R called me.. He immediately started with yelling obscenities and telling me "you don't know what the F you're talking about..", I really barely said a word other than at least in the Philadelphia area and what I've heard from other electricians and read online that screwing the wires to the outlet terminals instead of back-stabbing was always a better method. He dismissed that he did the back-stabbing to save any time
He said it wasn't an issue because he had wire nutted the circuit wires in every electrical box and it was only the 6" pig tail that was back-stabbed. I totally understand this and realize that this is a better way of doing it rather than relying on the outlet to be the "bridge" to the next downstream outlet, but even so, it seems (to me) that it would have been better off to SCREW the pig tailed wires to the outlet instead of back-stabbing. I understand that with the way he wired it, even if a back-stabbed connection became loose, any "downstream" outlets would still function, but in a coastal area where there is high humidity, wouldn't it make more sense to use the terminals? After all, there could still be a safety issue if one of the back-stabbed blades becomes loose of if someone hooks up a high-draw device to the one outlet.. right?
I remained very calm on the phone during his tirade - he even escalated it to physcially threatening me saying that if he saw me on the job site (my mom's house remind you), he would "kick my F'ing ass". It's a duplex my GC is building on our lot and I'm only in charge of one side of it, but the electrician is doing both. In an effort to get the house complete at this late stage, my GC is telling me to just let R's comments go, but it's crazy to me..
So I'm doing my best to let it go, and as un-professional and crazy as his screaming was, that's not the point of this post.. I wanted to double check my thinking here with all you pros... while I appreciate the wire-nutted connection he did in the boxes, wouldn't it have been better to use the SCREW terminals on the outlets instead of back-stabbing - even if we're just talking about the 6" pigtail?
Thank you very much!
Jay

2023.06.02 15:14 KrypticEon DV360 - Single CPA Goal WITH Mutliple Conversion Tracking? Am I Insane?
Hey all!
I feel like I'm losing my mind a bit, I've gone through the mill of half-baked Support articles from Google trying to seek an answer and always seem to end up going in circles.
I wanted to know if anyone knows how to achieve what I want:
I'm currently running a campaign for a Client who has a CPA goal. The "A" (of CPA) in question is Sales
However, within the reports that we give to the client, they also want to be able to track things such as Homepage landings, and "Book Tickets Now" button clicks.
Now in the linked CM360 advertiser we have Floodlight Activities for all 3 Conversions (Sales, Landings, Button Clicks), they're all firing no issues.
But when it comes to DV360 Line Item settings, I'm hitting a huge roadblock
I cannot, for love, nor money, find a way to have the Line Item only optimise towards a CPA based on one Conversion Activity whilst simultaneously tracking all 3 Conversion Activities.
If I take off the other 2 Conversion Activities off the Line Item then when I pull a DV360 standard report I literally cannot even report against them. This is another absolutely f***ing baffling nuance of DV360 that I cannot understand - if the Floodlights are synced from CM360 why is there literally no attribution possible against them unless they are assigned onto a Line Item it makes no sense to me.
Does anyone have a proposal for how I achieve what I'm after here? Is it actually impossible? Does anyone else share my pain?
