2023.03.13 09:40 jail-house-lock North Wall in Ao Nang Krabi: Any Tips or Advice?
https://www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/thailand/krabi/area/1720715394 Hi everyone, I'm considering a climbing trip to the North Wall in Ao Nang Krabi and was wondering if anyone has any information on accessing it. Specifically, I'm curious about the difficulty of finding the wall and whether it's possible to get an Uber from Ao Nang to the wall. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

2022.10.16 11:35 thelollies ClimbLocator - A sideproject of mine to help roaming climbers find crags
NOTE: Currently only supporting France, Spain, Italy and Germany. More countries coming soon :).
This is something I made to scratch my own itch and I hope will be helpful to others! I travel around Europe climbing regularly and I often find myself in unfamiliar places searching for a crag nearby. This usually means pulling up each of the main websites (thecrag, climbingaway, 27crags) one by one and seeing what they have. This can take a while (especially on a phone) so to make this easier I've made a website which shows all of the crags on one map and then directs you to those sites for more information.
Here is the website:
https://climblocator.com/ I'm very interested in feedback/suggestions.

2022.09.08 11:03 stille [Europe] Totems, possibly stolen
Hey guys,
I bought 4 Totem cams off my country's ebay equivalent for a price that's a bit too good even considering the seller's explanations (caver, got them as a gift from a clueless friend, would prefer money)
Since Totems apparently have serial numbers on them, if you've had any stolen and have the serial numbers, please PM me so we can work something out if they turn out to be yours.
Also, any idea where else I could post this? I know the US has mountainproject, but I'm not sure if there's a comparable forum for Europe (beginner trad climber here :) ) Will post on thecrag also, but that's not the hugest of places :)
Cheers

2022.08.25 22:56 Tofu1312 Informations about Möja and public transport in Stockholm
My Girlfriend and me are traveling to Stockholm soon. Close to the Island Möja is a small Deep-Water-Climbing Area, which I really would like to try (
check here). So I have some questions: How easy would it be to go there with public transport? google gives me different options, all around 3-4 h. All include a boat. So does public transport in Sweden also includes boats? How expensive would be a ticket for public transport to Möja? And in general, how much do you pay for a ticket in Stockholm, so you can drive around for a week or a day? How far out can you go with these tickets? The website I linked tells me, that you can rent a SUP on Möja. But I couldn't find anything online. So is there an option of renting a SUP or similar on Möja?
Thank you all for your help!

2022.06.07 18:51 TheRealBeakerboy Muir Valley climbing route on Practice Wall with a right hand crack.
I forgot the name of a route I did this weekend. It’s between Dragon’s Mouth and Acrophobiacs. It basically follows a significant crack where two walls meet at 90° on the climber’s right. I’m guessing it’s Low Exposure based on wall position at thecrag and mountainproject, but the photo at the later does not match.

2021.11.26 10:02 christoosss Looking for guidebooks for sport climbing in Austria
Hi,
I've been searching (not throughly) around for options to buy guidebooks for different crags in Austria.
I'm mostly interested in Kanzi cause it's super near from Slovenia where I live. But other suggestions for crags in Austria would be great too. I would be interested in any similar stuff for via ferrata routes around Austria.
It can be in German (or English) but would be great if it had more information then thecrag.com.
Thanks for the answers or suggestions!

2021.06.22 22:41 WilliamH123456 Climbing in Zakynthos, Greece (bouldering, free water solo)
Hi guys and gals! So I am going on a trip to Zakynthos this summer for two weeks, I was bummed that I could not train my climbing but then I thought, of course this Island must have some cool free water solo/bouldering spots. A quick google search brought me to 'thecrag' website. There it lists two spots, 'the keri caves' and 'korakonisi', and boy these spots did not dissapoint me. But it doesn't have any other specific info.
Has anyone on this sub ever climbed there? Any tips/experiences/accesability/grades on these locations/other locations etc. are welcome! Also, how is the climbing community in Greece, are these spots usually visited by other climbers? I myself am going in august! Would be cool to meet some fellow climbers there.

2021.04.15 22:53 mathistdificil Is there a social media for math?
Hi all, my 2021 purpose was to climb and read more. So far I've been climbing and reading more. I feel one of the main reasons is that I'm using goodreads for recording my reading and TheCrag to record climbs. Is there anything similar but for math problems, physics etc?

2019.06.04 02:36 ShambleStumble List of Online Logbook Sites
I'm trying to get together a decently comprehensive list of the popular online logbooks for a project (8a.nu, mountain project). Trouble is that there seem to be kind of a ton of small ones and I wanted to throw the question out there to make sure I wasn't missing any significant ones. Thanks!
Current list is as follows (will update):
Mountain Project
27 Crags
8a.nu
Sendage (kinda small but eh)
bleau.info (specific to font but a massive database nevertheless)
ukclogbook
theCrag
Climbnz.org.nz
Camptocamp
Rockclimbing
castlehillbasin.co.nz

2019.04.28 09:51 youngaliveandbald Cross post with r/climbing. Does anybody have info on outdoor sport routes in Hokkaido?
My brother and I will be traveling there this summer. We’ve found some very vague info on mountain project and thecrag, but have been more lucky with word-of-mouth stuff. We’ve managed to find a few coastal crags and spots that don’t show up on mountain project and thecrag , but topos seem to be non-existent, or only in Japanese. If anyone’s got any recommendations, info, or anything at all, I’d super appreciate it. We’re gonna be in Sapporo for a week or so, Otaru for a while, and might check out Iwanai as well. Thanks!

2019.01.20 09:00 ImaTryMyBest Beginner Bouldering in Sydney
Hey
bouldering!
My friend and I are interesting in trying some outdoor bouldering in the Sydney area. I was wondering if anyone had some good advice on places we could find some beginneintermediate routes to start with? I've been looking through
thecrag.com but I seem to only be able to find locations with mainly harder grades.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
