I think I have ADHD, although I'm not 100% sure. I can confidently say that I have it thanks to the 2 years I've been experiencing symptoms and reading about other people's experiences with ADHD. Throughout my academic life, I've been labeled as "The smart kid who doesn't study," "The lazy one", etc. You get the idea.
I recently visited afriend of mine who has a degree in Pedagogy and Psychology. He told me that it's so rare that a 18yo man survived highschool without any problems (even with high marks on the subjects I liked the most) without getting diagnosed. Anyway, the point is that I told him that I have been strugling to study a lot more since I am in college (because having troubles to study aint new at all) Getting to a point where I can barely study even if I have a test the next day.
He told me that I shoudn't worry about it if I dont loose the focus while doing other things but studying. I didn't want to start talking about how much I ALT+TAB while playing videogames to watch twitter, or how much do I pick up my phone while watching a movie, So I went home (after all, this was just a meeting between friends, nothing paid or something like that). He also said that I probably have ODC (seems like a little rush, but he knows me well, so he could be rigth) I honestly think that I have adhd, but what if this is some made up shit my mind came up with to try to explain why I do the stuff I do and this is just a coping mechanism?

Context : 28M, 220lbs. Never ran in my life before 2020
So I picked up running like half of the world during COVID. I got good and fast pretty quickly, didnt follow a training plan. Eventually I plateaued in 2022. I got too many niggles, got slow with every run, fatigued after every run and did not recover properly. I gave up running in September 2022 to take a break and let my body heal.
All this while I read about Z2 training and low heart rate training. In hindsight, all my runs from 2020 to 2022 were at 155-165BPM, running in the grey zone. I knew about easy runs but i was trying too hard on my easy runs as well since i was fatigued after easy days. I knew about the concept but wasn't applying it well.
I finally began running on 5/27. Ran and walked with no ego. Kept my HR under 145 at all times. My pace was humbling but all i focused was my HR. I ran for 30 mins and for the first time, I didnt feel like i was miserable and dying. My energy at the end of the run was the same as the beginning of the run. I woke up the next day and felt fresh. I was looking forward to this run again. I have so far ran 4 runs consecutive days and not been tired at the end of it. Recovery has been good and I have always kept my HR below 145 if that means walking in intervals
With that being said, I want to know what the long term implications are of MAF and low HR training for a novice like me. Goal : Lose 40lbs and run easy miles at 11min/mile pace w/ HR of 140ish Current Pace : Average 16:40min/Mile ( walk + run to keep low HR ). Diet : keto/carnivore ( to lose weight) Workout : Strength training 3x week and hoping to run 5-6 days a week
With my goal should i continue to just do low HR training for the next 6 months and build my aerobic base ?
I dont intend to include speed work until 2024. I dont think i am ready for it physically and want to build my foundation first So if I just do 6 -12 months of MAF as a BEGINNER, will I see progress on my pace ? My pace currently is terrible and nothing to be proud of. i know Low HR will help me lose weight with my diet in check. But will it over time also improve my easy pace ?

My husband and I have been married 3 years and together 7. He came to me months ago unhappy and we decided to work on things. Things had been getting better and i had an inkling to look at his phone. i (f17) recently quit my job at a fast food chain after working there for almost ten months. this story is part of the reason why i did not want to stay much longer.
i worked the drive thru from 5pm to 11pm almost every weekend. seeing regulars was not uncommon for me and i would even memorize most of their orders and fill it out as soon as i heard their voice. most were very polite and occasionally tipped.
but on one particularly busy day, there was an unfamiliar, weary presence. i had just started my shift so i was running food to the window. i made eye contact with the man at the window in his car and immediately felt uneasy. i brushed it off because we were busy and i had work to do. later, once my manager set up my cash drawer, i took over drive thru orders, payments etc. there were lots of orders so i was not paying special attention to specific voices or menu choices, but one caught my attention. it was a low, hesitant voice asking for a sandwich. i give the man the total and he waits in line. he arrives at the window and it’s the man from earlier. i assumed he just forgot to order something. now, his car was pretty low to the ground so he had to extend his arm out to hand me his debit card. as he does this, he mumbles something under his breath, without breaking eye contact with me.
“im sorry what was that?” i question.
“i said ‘youre looking beautiful today.”
at this point im super uncomfortable. not only do i have a boyfriend, but im also underage, and not at all interested.
“oh uh thank you” i say nervously.
i handed him the bag of food and quickly shut the window until he drove away. i half heartedly complained about him to some coworkers (all male) as we usually do with weird customers, but i still had a strange gut feeling.
a little while later, when the average wait in our line was about 10 minutes, i hear a familiar voice over the mic, asking for a cup of water. it was low, but agitated and forceful. i saw his face through his windshield and walked away from the window so my manager would take care of him. this happened a couple more times that day, asking for straws and other free things. at that point i was sure that he was just trying to look at me. i was so frustrated with him and the rest of my workday that i went to the bathroom and cried. i usually have pretty thick skin when it comes to this stuff but i was just so over it.
the rest of the night went on and i did not see him again. i thought id probably never see him again, until my very last shift at the store a few months later.
we werent busy that evening, but it was much later in the day than the first encounter. i did not recognize the voice but i immediately recognized his face and car. i swallowed my pride and took his payment, trying not to make eye contact. i called my manager and he said that he would give the food out for me. as suspected, the man was back in the drive thru not long afterwards for a cup of water. this time i knew better. i sent a male coworker to the window to get it for him since i was busy anyway. once given the water, the man asked my coworker, “you guys close at eleven now right?”
i was so glad i was getting picked up by my mom that night. i was constantly looking out the windows and making sure he wasn’t out there waiting for me. call me paranoid but i listen to enough true crime to be overly cautious.
so to the creepy man in the drive thru with blood shot eyes, lets not meet again.

Mark Wahlberg is a looter and stealer of antiquities who gets together with the younger brother of a fellow looter of antiquities to go loot antiquities. In the process of doing this the wisecrack and pull off amazing stunts.
For some reason I like Mark Wahlberg, even if he nearly beat a Vietnamese gentleman nearly to death in his youth. Even movies like Daddy’s Home, which is just a throw away movie, I really enjoyed. Sadly, this movie, although a throw away movie, I found to be completely unenjoyable. I’ll chock that up to the huge amounts of CGI, the stupid characters, the stupid plot, the complete lack of originality, and the fact that just two movies ago I watched Romancing the Stone,which is the same basic premise, but with no CGI and originality. This isn’t the worst movie I’ve seen while doing this challenge but it’s a bad movie that should not be watched for any reason. 1 Star out of 4 stars.

How it happened.
I was 16 and my girlfriend was 15. We were both in high-school. For the sake of incrimination I’m going to use fake names. Her name was Lucy. I’m going to call her that as it’s the closest thing to Lucifer as she showed me that she was definitely possessed by it.
She grew up with her friends Karen and Meredith. Since kindergarten. I was diagnosed with ODD and ADHD at a very young age. I moved around a lot. I mean, a lot. Until I went to their school in 2014, I had been to 9 different schools in the surrounding area due to being bullied.
With that said, you can understand a bit more context. I was new to this school, before I went into highschool. I began to cut myself the first year of that school, and met a girl who had similar issues as me. Just a bad upbringing. We were similar in the sense we were both a little messed up. This one was Meredith. We talked for a very long time. Shy to eachother in person, but always texted every single night. Her best friend growing up was Lucy. Inseparable those 2. Later on down the line highschool began. I built the courage to ask her on a proper date. We went to the movies. A few months after that she started dating this wannabe gangster fellow. Wore all red from head to toe. It broke my heart she would do that, and I went to Lucy for advice. That same night Lucy kissed me. I realized I liked her back. Her and I started dating and it pissed Meredith off. She didn’t talk to me for months. Lucy and I were our first. We had sex almost every day, going out for lunch during break and going to my house. For about 6 months straight. Then she cheated on me. I caught her at the graveyard with another guy and confronted them. I said things like I would slit his throat and he got scared and ran off. Lucy said I was fucked in the head.
Soon after I messaged Meredith about it, as they were best friends. Meredith met up with me that night. Cheating on her boyfriend with me. I began dating Meredith after she dumped her boyfriend. Karen got transferred to our highschool about 5 months into mine and Meredith’s relationship. Meredith cheated on me with my old friend from the trailer park. I walked in on them one night. Smashed a bottle and told the guy I was going to bury him outside. Realized I didn’t want to go to jail, I put the bottle down and walked out and went home. Karen messaged me that night. Asked if I was okay. Saying no she asked to meet up with me. We met up and I showed how upset I was. She kissed me then. Probably out of pity. I asked her out about 3 weeks later as I was lonely and needed someone. She became friends with Meredith and Lucy which I found strange. Very strange. As a young kid I told her that I didn’t want her to hang around them anymore and she told me I can’t make her. Which I couldn’t, I just accepted it. They hung out a lot. Which made me suspicious. Soon after Karen began talking sexual to me. I did the same, being a teenager.
She said things like she wants to be tied up and left marks on her. She seduced me one night and asked for all of it. Verbally asked for it. The day after we had school. It was like any other day. I was in class on the computer talking to her through Facebook. The conversation was normal. Until it wasn’t. She warned me. Said “oh by the way, me and Lucy are charging you with rape” I laughed and said “lmao” and she said “I’m not kidding” panic set in. Not even an hour later police came to my classroom and escorted me to the principles office. There I saw through the glass both of them fake crying. I was handcuffed and treated like a terrorist locked in a room inside the school. I was asked questions without my rights being told to me or even a parent or guardian present.
I was charged with 3 counts of sexual assault. As Meredith sneakily did the same. They planned this on me.
I took it to trial. Court went on for 4 years. So long that they were going to charge me as an adult even though it supposedly happened when I was 15. I had a lot of evidence against them such as text receipts and the fact they tried to do this to another guy in which they redacted their statement without any repercussions
It got so bad that a female officer I suspect one that they went to, attempted to withhold my evidence in court and was found doing so. She didn’t lose her job but got demoted to traffic officer I was told by my lawyer. I was found innocent in 2020 but after it was done and over with, they went around my town and told everyone that I raped them. For 6 years I was assaulted by people throwing stuff at me by driving by, called a rapist by hundreds of people, threatened, my house was paintballed, my brothers truck had gotten his windows smashed out. And now I’m very mentally fucked up.
Reddit is lagging too bad so I can’t type any more. It’s taking a long time for my words to be written. In conclusion I just wanted to share my story. Get it off my chest as I have been living with this for a long time.

My friend (23f) (I’ll call her Jane) recently broke up with their partner (27) (I’ll call them Alex) of 3 years, and said ex-partner is, understandably, quite upset about it. Jane told me her decision to break up last week, since it was Alex’ birthday and she had a deadline earlier this week.
Alex and I have gotten along pretty well, so before all of this I’d asked Alex to join me catching the premiere of a movie we’ve both been anticipating - luckily, they were given tickets by another friend as a gift and thus had to reschedule.
Yet, the possibility is high that we both show up at the same screening tonight. We live in a smaller town and unless they’re taking the train to the city there is only one theatre showing the film, and they only have two screenings for it.
Which is where I am in need of advice: If we happen to run into one another, Should I say hi? Should I act like normal and strike up conversation? Should I avoid them entirely? Does the rules change as time goes on?

One thing we can be sure of, they were not innocuous. What reason could he have for stealing documents relating to the EPA, Federal Trade Commission, or Federal Pension Board?
The CIA, the FBI, yes; the Commission on Housing and Development? Probably not.
Some say, ‘What’s the big deal if he took home some papers?’
Think about it, in that we don’t know his motivation, it could be a very big deal.
What we do know is that he can be vindictive, petulant, and go to any lengths he deems necessary to get even with an opponent, even if the opponent is the United States Government and its citizens.

I'm 16. And 2 months ago, my mother(bio) got me a private Language Tutor for 2 weeks straight after seeing my practice results. He was always close to me and I assumed it's to teach better. He groped my chest before leaving the last class and I collected myself from the shock and told my mother and older brother(3 year gap) after he left. It was a split second of pride that I spoke up before my heart dropping as they ask where? And my mother says that's why you can't wear certain clothes. She made me avoid raising my voice because my father was there. The conversation honestly still pains me. I didn't ask for anything but said please post in Telegram that this man is unsafe. He could be doing this to younger kids. I got you don't understand.
This was my last straw. I plan to go no contact after college(kind of Compulsory in my country) but I think I'm too weak. I don't want to be a back up to the golden child. But unsurprisingly that child crashes and now the expectations are on me. Unfair, I didn't receive the attention but I bear the responsibility?

since then, we’ve gone on a few trips together to different places like an hour our two from the area we live, and gone on walks and talked about further trips we want to go on.
we have also decided to go on a long vacation around europe together which he’s very into travelling so i didn’t really know if it meant anything and he’s been on trips before like this with other people.
we’ve been comfortable enough that he starts to rub my back when we hug and he seems to have lowered his guard in all honesty. he’s come over a few times and we’ll watch a movie and whatever but nothing really happens besides us just joking around and sitting close but that’s it.
he’s become more vulnerable and open to talking about things which is really nice and communicates if we’re upset about something. he takes photos of me whilst we’re on these trips which was new because he’d never done that before with me. i’m unsure whether i’m looking too deep into it. obviously he’ll make sexual innuendos but nothing actually goes towards it.
i’m a bit worried that because i have feelings and possibly he doesn’t that i don’t wanna ruin it because i don’t want him to feel like he can’t talk to me just because desire is a thing on my end.
