Id love for folks to share their opinions on longer term destinations between NC and FL. I've been living nomadically across the U.S. for the last year or so, but I lost my job recently. I have been offered a new fully remote role, with the caveat of only being able to live in a handful of states (I don't fully understand why, but it is a federal contract.) Of those listed, I'm most interested in living in the aforementioned, but would also be able to reside in D.C, VA, MD, AL, and TX. I've spent time in Charlotte, NC and St.Petersburg, FL and enjoyed those places, but am curious if there are some other areas in those states that nomadic folks gravitate towards. In terms of geography, I am more of a temperate climate person in general and enjoy mountains, but i'd be happy living by the beach for a while as well. I appreciate any and all input!

Two days ago, I checked myself into the mental health ward. I was having suicidal thoughts because I was extremely depressed. It took a lot of courage to go. I suffer from anxiety and I do not want anyone to know that I suffer from depression. I was happy to get the help that I needed at the hospital and they said they would call me the next day. I got a call from a staff member the following morning who informed me that the crisis worker forgot to get my phone number but that he was able to call my family doctor to get that information. Fast forward to after 10 pm at night. Someone kept ringing my door bell. I live in a three story flat adjoined to several other apartment buildings. I wasn't going to answer the door for safety reasons but had to because the door bell kept causing my dog to bark. The person would not go away and I could also hear them knocking on the main front door of the building. When I went downstairs to open the door, I saw mental Health Crisis worker worker talking to my neighbour at the next building. Then a man in taxi cab asked out loud - "are you such and such." The crisis worker then excused the neighbour and said, I am from the crisis team and I forgot to get your phone number last night. I was so humiliated because I just moved to my building and didn't want the neighbours to know that I checked into the hospital for my depression. By the way, she could have just gotten my phone number from her colleague, or called 24 hour referral to get my phone number.

The few times I've gone to this location in the past there was usually a really long wait, plus you can't leave the drive thru lane, so I usually avoid this location and go to Southpointe where I have no issues. Wanted to avoid the construction on S 27th the other day though so I went to this location instead. Ordered the steak Chile Verde nacho fries with a few customizations, omitting two ingredients and adding one. Received the complete opposite with only the ingredients I wanted omitted and nothing else. Not even the Chile Verde sauce. So I'm just like whatever, I guess I'll have to try to order them again sometime. I ordered the exact same thing through Doordash tonight, not realizing the food would be coming from the same location. Same exact thing - only received the omitted ingredients, no Chile Verde or anything. I've worked in fast food before but never saw a screw up this consistently bad. I don't typically complain but it's almost like they're doing it on purpose or something? Just wow.
