Trulicity Weight Loss
More doses. More weight loss.3
Trulicity is not indicated for weight loss.
In clinical trials with primary endpoint ranging from 26 to 52 weeks, weight change was a secondary endpoint. Mean weight change from baseline ranged from +0.4 lb to -10.1 lb for 0.75 mg dose to 4.5 mg dose respectively.3,4
Mean weight change from baseline at 36 weeksTrulicity 1.5 mg (n=612; mean baseline wt: 210.6 lb); Trulicity 3.0 mg (n=616; meanbaseline wt: 212.3 lb); Trulicity 4.5 mg (n=614; mean baseline wt: 210.4 lb)
WHAT IS TRULICITY®? One of the numerous GLP-1 drugs that Calibrate doctors have recommended as part of Calibrate's One-Year Metabolic Reset is this once-weekly injectable prescription.
Semaglutide (marketed under the trade names Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Rybelsus®; all made by Novo Nordisk) and liraglutide (marketed under the trade names Saxenda® and Victoza®) are two additional GLP-1s that Calibrate prescribes.
Eli-Lilly and Company, an American pharmaceutical firm, produces Trulicity®.
In 2014, the FDA authorized Trulicity® as a type 2 diabetes medication for people who will also need to make lifestyle modifications.
CAN YOU USE TRULICITY® FOR WEIGHT LOSS? Individuals with higher baseline BMIs lost the greatest weight when taking Trulicity at increasing doses. According to the authors' findings, patients across all BMI groupings saw equal mean percentage weight losses, with those
Like all other GLP-1 drugs, how well Trulicity works for weight loss will depend on how well you’re able to incorporate lifestyle changes such as dietary modifications and exercise.
Calibrate uses proven methods for long-term results—the latest science, FDA-approved medication, one-on-one doctor visits, and
accountability coaching—for weight loss of 15% or more.
With Calibrate, members benefit from comprehensive, one-on-one support and coaching that spans four key areas: Food intake, exercise, sleep, and emotional health. These are what we call our
Four Pillars of Metabolic Health.
Throughout your Calibrate year, you’ll apply these pillars by making small changes to your daily routine. Small, sustained lifestyle changes combined with GLP-1 medication, a support team, and a science-backed curriculum all come together to make metabolic health achievable.
HOW DOES TRULICITY® WORK?
Trulicity®, like other GLP-1 drugs, works by mimicking the natural incretin hormones that your body produces.
This results in a complex cascade of hormones and neurotransmitters which effectively communicate feelings of satiety (feeling full) and slow down the rate at which food leaves your stomach (making you feel fuller for longer).
In addition, GLP-1 medications can improve blood sugar levels in people living with impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes. As explained on the brand’s website, Trulicity® “helps your pancreas release insulin in response to high levels of sugar in your blood after you eat” and “can limit how much sugar gets into your blood from your liver.”
If you’re worried about hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), rest assured that GLP-1 medications pose a relatively small risk. Hypoglycemia is typically only a concern when GLP-1s are used in conjunction with other diabetes medications such as insulin.
As one 2015 study evaluating Trulicity® concluded, “The long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonists improve glycemic control and help to promote weight loss. Furthermore, based on their glucose-dependent mechanism of action, the GLP-1 receptor agonists have a low risk for hypoglycemia.”
How to take Trulicity® for weight loss
Taking Trulicity® is easy. Even if you’re intimidated by an injectable medication, the pen is designed to be simple to use and relatively painless. Better yet, Trulicity® can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, and only needs to be injected once per week. Your doctor will provide thorough instructions to make self-injection easy and stress-free.
Trulicity® is available in prefilled pens in the following doses:
- 0.75 milligrams (mg) pen
- 1.5 mg pen
- 3.0 mg pen
- 4.5 mg pen

2023.03.21 22:30 VAMPVHS Why Do I Have MW2 for Free?
I have an Xbox Series X and I was looking around the game store and when I scrolled over MW2 it said install and when I went to check it, it showed what I could choose to install and I was allowed fo install campaign, multiplayer, etc. I know for a fact I never purchased the game at all and I’m now installing the full game, and I don’t know how. Was it made free at some point (even if it was you usually have to add it to your library within the free period which I didn’t so I should’ve missed out if it was free) I’m basically very confused as to how I have this $60+ game that I’ve been thinking of buying for the past couple months, for completely free and it’s not a demo or anything I just have the full game I just wish to have some kind of explanation, I’m definitely not complaining I’ll be seeing some of you online soon, I haven’t played a recent call of duty in many years and I’m very excited to play again

2023.03.21 22:20 ProfessionalRoom9748 Watch 'Jesus Revolution' OnLine Free
Lionsgate Movies! Here’s options for downloading or watching Jesus Revolution streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit,1movies, 9movies, and yes movies, including where to watch the real-life true story movies at home. Is Jesus Revolution 2023 available to stream? Is watching Jesus Revolution on Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix, or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
In a surprising turn of events, Kelsey Grammer‘s new Christian drama film, Jesus Revolution, has surpassed expectations after over-performing at the box office during its debut weekend.
The movie, which brought in $15.5 million in its three-day domestic debut (more than double what was projected), follows Chuck Smith (Grammer), a pastor from Southern California, as he works alongside a hippie to evangelize his friends.
So where can you stream Jesus Revolution? Will it be on Netflix? What about HBO Max? Here’s everything we know about the movie:
When Is Jesus Revolution's Release Date?
Jesus Revolution debuts exclusively in movie theaters on February 24. It's a fitting bit of counter-programming if the R-rated Jesus Revolution movie is not necessarily your speed.
Where To Watch Jesus Revolution:
As of now, the only way to watch Jesus Revolution is to head out to a movie theater. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Watch Now: Jesus Revolution (2023) Online Free
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple.
Is Jesus Revolution Available to Stream?
It is not yet known when or where Jesus Revolution will be available to stream. However, the movie's production and distribution companies (Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company) lead us to speculate that when the movie becomes available to stream, it will likely be hosted on a couple of different platforms depending on your country. Last year, Lionsgate signed streaming deals with both The Roku Channel and Peacock, that'll allow the streaming services to host their films.
In the United States, Starz is available with any Hulu plan starting at $7.99 per month. In the United Kingdom, Amazon Prime customers can purchase LIONSGATE+ alongside any plan starting at £5.99 per month.
When Will Jesus Revolution Be On Streaming?
While a digital release date for Jesus Revolution has not yet been announced, we can make an educated guess based on a previously released Lionsgate movie.
Plane, which premiered on Jan. 13, came to digital platforms on Feb. 3 — about three weeks after it was released in theaters. If Jesus Revolution follows the same trajectory, we could be watching it from the comfort of our living rooms by late March.
Will Jesus Revolution Be On HBO Max?
No, Jesus Revolution will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. While the company used to release its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Will Jesus Revolution Be On Netflix?
While Jesus Revolution could potentially come to Netflix in the future, there are no current plans for it to join the streaming giant after its theatrical run. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on digital.
Is Jesus Revolution Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new true story movie Jesus Revolution on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is Jesus Revolution on Amazon Prime?
Even though ‘Jesus Revolution’ is not for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, you can still make the most of your subscription by tuning into similar spiritual films on the streaming giant. We recommend you watch ‘The Girl Who Believes in Miracles‘ and ‘God’s Not Dead.’
Where to Watch Jesus Revolution Online?
‘Jesus Revolution’ has been released exclusively in theaters, which means that you don’t have the option to watch the drama movie online, be it by streaming or purchasing. Thus, to get an immersive viewing experience, you can check show timings and book tickets on the movie’s official website and Fandango.
Jesus Revolution cast
The biggest name attached to Jesus Revolution is Kelsey Grammer, who is set to play the role of Pastor Chuck Smith. Grammer is of course best known for playing Fraiser Crane in both the Cheers and Fraiser TV shows, the latter of which is getting a reboot on Paramount Plus. More recently, he's been seen in Dr. Death, Moneyplane and he continues to voice Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons.
The movie also features Jonathan Rumie as Lonnie Frisbee. Rumie has experience in faith-based titles, playing Jesus in the TV series The Chosen. Playing Greg Laurie in the movie, meanwhile, is Joel Courtney, who is best known for his role in the Netflix rom-com franchise The Kissing Booth.
Also starring in the movie are Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Dog Gone), Anna Grace Barlow (The Big Leap), Nicholas Cirillo (Outer Banks), DeVon Franklin (Canal Street) and more.

Get ready to add another superhero movie to your queue! Four years after Shazam hit theaters, it’s finally getting a sequel with John Wick: Chapter 4.
The DC movie follows Billy Batson (Zachary Levi) and his foster siblings as they turn into superheroes upon saying the word, “Shazam!” In the 130-minute film, the group must stop the Daughters of Atlas from using a weapon that could destroy the world.
So where can you watch John Wick: Chapter 4? Is it on HBO Max? What about Netflix? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:
When Will John Wick: Chapter 4 Be Released?
John Wick: Chapter 4 was set to be released in theaters on march.
Will John Wick: Chapter 4 Coming to Movie Theaters?
Yes, John Wick: Chapter 4 will be released exclusively in theaters on March 24, 2023. Originally, the movie was expected to be released on April 1, 2021, but was then pushed to November 4, 2021, and again to March 17, 2023, with these delays ultimately being caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Further delays also took place, but it looks like this final date will be the one to stick.
Where To Watch John Wick: Chapter 4:
As of now, the only place to watch John Wick: Chapter 4 is to go to a movie theater when it drops on Friday, March 17. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Other than that, you will have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Prime Video, Apple, and Vudu or stream on HBO Max. Read on for more information.
Will John Wick: Chapter 4 Available for Streaming Online?
Right now, there are currently no confirmed plans for streaming John Wick: Chapter 4. As more cinemas open up and theater attendance continues to rise post-pandemic, simultaneous streaming and theater releases are becoming less common. However, if past titles are anything to go by, it’s a safe bet that Fury Of The Gods will join its DCEU siblings on HBO Max within the next few months. It’s possible that you’ll also be able to rent or buy copies of the movie on other
streaming platforms, such as Amazon or YouTube but again, it’ll be a while before the movie becomes available anywhere other than in theaters.
When Will John Wick: Chapter 4 Be Streaming On HBO MAX?
Since John Wick: Chapter 4 is being distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery, it will, indeed, join HBO Max. However, unlike last year when the company would drop their movies on the streaming platform the same day they were released in theaters, we are going to have to wait at least 45 days before we can watch from the comfort of our living rooms.
While there is no official streaming release date yet, Black Adam, another Warner Bros. movie, was released in theaters on Oct. 21 and didn’t make its way to HBO Max until Dec. 16 — just over 45 days after it debuted. If John Wick: Chapter 4 follows the same trajectory, it’s possible we won’t be able to stream it until early May 2023.

2023.03.21 21:44 phantomroguegalaxy 23 f Yearning for that friendship spark
Significant note: Please only message me if you're 21+ years old and from the U.S ONLY (due to the difference in timezones past 3 hours (PST) and I would like to hopefully meet up one day) no minors. I'm not interested in NSFW, drugs, or alcohol either so please don't contact me if you like those things
If you don't know what I'm talking about based off of the title, it's basically when you meet someone and everything just seems to align. Your values, morals, interests, etc are shared and you both share the same excitement to consistently chat with one another throughout your days and night everyday! It also means that things don't feel forced and the conversations just flow naturally instead of the other person ruining things by constantly saying 'so what do you want to talk about?'. I want us to both be our truest selves, no need to hide who we are. Plus what's the point of trying to cultivate a friendship with someone online just to turn around and be a fake? I've also grown tired of the types of people who send me messages. People who are super vague and don't really go in depth, people who are low effort and just tell me they liked my post, or people who can't say more than a 'hi'. I want to talk to people who actually read these friendship posts instead of skimming or not even reading them at all. What happened to all the people who had personality and a fun energy to them? And why do you think some of us put so much time and energy into writing these things? I sure as heck don't do it for nothing. I absolutely don't expect to find the right person or people right away but I expect to at least be met with a few people who share my plight
My availability is super open! I'm basically able to chat all throughout the day and I love sending and receiving long, thought out messages. I absolutely deplore small talk and refuse to have it with you. If you engage in it with me don't be surprised if you never hear back again. I love deep and meaningful conversations, but I'm also not opposed to having random chats as well! Heck, if you're going through stuff I'm more than happy to listen and give you advice. But please understand we don't know each other all that well and I'd rather not be used solely as an emotional punching bag. We are all humans here (I hope). Plus I'd really like more positive, supportive, and uplifting friendships honestly. I'd also like to say I usually mirror the other person I'm talking to so what you give me is what you will receive back!
When I'm not on reddit, I'm usually irl binging the hell out of YouTube, Amazon prime, or random sites I find because Netflix doesn't have the shows or movies I desire to watch. Life hasn't been the best without new music, that's for sure. Spotify seems to be getting worse and worse the more I use it. Constantly they are recommending shit that doesn't at all fit with what I am looking for and I still haven't found anyone cool who matches my music taste. I'm into a wide variety of stuff ranging from 80s-00s, alternative, post hardcore, punk, pop punk, rock, indie, synthwave, some goth, and plenty more. I'm not really interested in sharing playlists but instead actually listening to music together on (like a group sharing or something? Can't remember what it's called) would be nice to have for a change. I'm also a bit of a gamer but haven't been playing much lately. I have a modded ps vita, a PS4 I share with my bf, and a computer. I am not looking for gaming friends but if you'd be open to playing a lesser known battle royal with me let me know! I never get to play due to the fact I have no one to play with. I also love reading comics, fiction, manga, going to bookstores, arcades, shopping (online and real life), thrifting, collecting too many cute plushies (as seen on my profile), taking nature pictures, always eating too many sweets, and tons of other things you'll get to know about me once we talk more
If this sounds like a friendship you'd like to be a part of, feel free to send me a message! All that I ask is that you read this post and possibly any other post on my profile if you wanted to know more about my interests. As well as put some freaking effort into your responses. I can't do anything with responses that are low effort! See ya soon :)

2023.03.21 21:41 pndjr FULL HD 1080p Fantasy Adventure Best Free Movies Full Length English - Best Hollywood Action Movie
2023.03.21 21:34 Dry_Bison_7901 Originally, I wrote this wall of text to r/SuicideWatch, but I've decided NOT to post it because it might encourage somebody to actually end his/her life. As for us, we are used to suffering, year after year, so I guess I can share it here
This was the topic name:
Lately, I've been having thoughts about suicide And here is the text, I'll just copy/past it. I've just finished writing, so sorry if some parts do not make sense. I've lost my concentration so I cannot read and edit it. But I still feel like sharing it with somebody.
As a side note, I tend to avoid this subreddit because reading your post makes my hopeless situation even more desperate.
Before you start reading, my situation is not urgent. If you are suicidal, you better do not read this post at all.
Sometimes I did follow those thoughts, sometimes I did not. Either way, as a Stoic practitioner, my view on death is a lot different from most people. I do not see death as something terrible, now did I ever believe in God on such things. For me, death is just death. You stop existing and that all. In fact, it it a good thing, as you get rid of this body which is always a pain in the ass. You have to feed it, clench it's thirst....do everything for and it still gives up on you. It is a source of so much suffering.
Even writing this here, I am feeling kind of guilty, that's probably because if you knew me, you would think I would be on the other side of the screen, cheering people and not writing this long ass post.
So, the story goes like this. For the record, I am 36 years old, male.
I won't go into great lengths to tell you what got me into my current situation, but I do have to write a short summary.
So...I've always been a problematic kid. Did drugs, alcohol, smoked, basically, was one of the "cool" kids. I've skipped class, was a real pain in the ass to teachers, and that eventually lead to me being expelled from school in my final year of school. Finished it later so at the end of the day, that was not a big deal. However, that is where my issues started.
At that point, I got access to home internet and as I had no obligation, and my parents were ok (they still are) with whatever I do, I've become completely socially isolated. So, from the ages of 16, up until the 26. My days were always the same. I've been spending 16+ hours a day online!!! Rest of the time I was sleeping, most of the time waking up multiple times trough the night to check on my games, because most of that time I've spent playing games, randomly browsing the internet and watching porn here and there.
Life was GOOD. At that point, I actually enjoyed my life. I did not know any better, so I am not the kind of person who regrets my past. It is what it is. Sure, from this point of view, that was stupid, but, I did not know better back then and I could not do better.
Anyway, the real problem was not the addiction to the internet novelty, the real problems started happening when I actually had to leave home and do stuff, which happened once or twice a year. Long story short, every time I went out, I felt like I was about to die- And slowly, but surely, my comfort zone shrunk, and shrunk. Things that I used to do, suddenly become impossible for me to do, because I genuinely believed "something bad was going to happen" if I even try and do stuff.
That was the beginning of my real issue, that is, agoraphobia. Since most people do not know what that is, in short, it is a fear of leaving home. Not because you are afraid of anything in particular, such as dentist, flying or many other fears and phobias that people have. You are afraid of the feeling of fear, of the way you FEEL in particular situations. That is, you become afraid of the fear itself, so you start avoiding and avoiding.
Now, I never actually went to doctor to get diagnosed, because for me, if I could do that, I would consider myself recovered. For me, going to doctor is simply one of the hardest things to do. It is just the way it is. If I ever went, my diagnosis would be, without a doubt: "panic disorder with agoraphobia."
As the day, weeks, months and year went by, I was getting worse, not better. Eventually, I got to the point where all I did trough the day, was hide myself under the blanket, because of how much anxiety I had pretty much all the time, with frequent panic attacks.
At that point, I had enough. I could not live on like that, so I did my best to try and recover. I started by downloading plenty of books about agoraphobia, panic, and generally self-help books. But, I could not actually read them, or concentrate at all, as long as I was online. So, the first step was going offline. After that, I heard that meditation was good and something that might help with anxiety, so I started it. And I've been meditating for 7+ years, logging over 2500 hours of meditation in total. Spoiler alert, it sure is good, it helped with general anxiety so I've started feeling OK, when I was at home. No more constant anxiety and panic attacks at least in my safe zone. Although, if I am being honest, I would not attribute that to meditation, that happened because I was offline.
So, from that point on, I've started caring about myself and my body, for the first time, ever. I did stopped smoking, drugs, and alcohol before, so at last I did not have to deal with that.
Anyway, I've started what I had to do. I've started practicing exposure therapy, and slowly, but surely expanding my comfort zone. And from that point on, until now, I've been spinning in the same cycle. Getting a bit better, than having a massive setback, depression, going back online and wasting few weeks or months online, and that repeat. Restarting the entire cycle.
I had some success and failures, but every time shit got hard, I hid online. That is, until I actually started CRAVING real life, and wanting more of life than what I currently have.
I know exactly what I want from life, I know how to get it, and I am extremely motivated to put in necessary work and get what I want. After all, trough the years, I've put massive effort into recovery. Heck, 3 years ago, I considered myself like 75% recovered. That is when I lost my grandpa. I withdrew at home, and that lead to full blown relapse, once again.
All fine, still. I am still motivated and I still want to get my life back. However, that's when it got from bad to worse. I did some physically activity, and from than on, I've started having issues with my legs. That is, I've been under a lot of pain.
Eventually, it got better (after plenty of internet and inactivity) and last year, at August, after pushing myself day in, day out, I've completely burnt my legs. I did a lot of walking (as part of my exposure therapy) and from than on, my legs are always hurting. Even if I am resting. That is, my hamstrings are killing me.
Because of that, I had yet another setback, was online for like 2 months, but I started hating my life even more and I've decided I am I going to give recovery another go. Give it my all, and if I am not better in 180 days, I told myself, I am going to give up completely. Surrender, spend my days online, and live my life for as long as I have somebody to support me. Once I am out of support, I would finally end my life.
And, I did good during that period. Expanded my comfort zone, once again, leg pain slowly but surely subsides (not completely, but it got a lot better). That was all until I had another setback.... That happened when I had a massive panic attack in situation that I considered "safe." I did not withdraw completely, I kept going out and trying my best. But, my comfort zone got smaller and smaller, until I eventually got back to where I am now. Unable to take public transport, which is MASSIVE for me. Because without it, I have to walk a lot and the more I walk, the more my legs hurt.
The more my legs hurt and the less I walked, the more and more I've become depressed. Until finally, thoughts about just ending it all started creeping in. As someone who did a lot of meditation and who practiced Stoicism, I was able to see those thoughts for what they are. Just fleeting, and impermament. I did not have to follow any of them.
Sometimes I did follow them, sometimes I did not. Either way, as a Stoic practitioner, my view on death is a lot different from most people. I do not see death as something terrible, nor did I ever believed in God or such stiuff. For me, death is just death. You stop existing and that all. In fact, it it a good thing, as you get rid of this body which is always a pain in the ass. You have to feed it, clench it's thirst and take a lot of care of it. It is a source for a lot of suffering and pain, pretty much from the moment you are born. On death, that all just stops.
Before I was born, people existed, our planet did spin, people got married, people got into wars, movies were mad, kids were born, people died, birds sang, books were written...Basically, the world existed. Even Hitler happened and I was not part of it. Once I am gone, people will still exist, our planet will spin, new post on reddit will pop up, people will get married, people will divorce, sun will shine.....everything will keep on happening, whether I am alive or not.
Now, Stoicism, especially Seneca (one of the 3 main Stoic which works somehow survived to this day), actually encouraged suicide to people who cannot bear life any more.
If I were alone, I might have actually done it. However, I know I can still contribute to my family, and they need me. So, doing that, is the least thing I would do. Although, lately it started sounding compelling...
Basically, during my Stoic studies and practice, (I read a lot of Buddhism before that), death has become one very positive topic for me. I used it to motivate me to live my life..
I've been going off topic a lot, because this turned into the rant. I guess I had to get it off, to share it with somebody, so it's fine. I'll try to return to my current situation.
I've been online for the past 2 weeks. Spending 16+ hours online and generally hating it. I want to change it, but I am not ready for all the leg pain I am going to experience as soon as I start working on my recovery once again.
The reason I wrote this post, and the reason I went online once again, was because I started to hate my life, from the moment I woke up, I could not wait to go to sleep. It went on for days and the more it went on, the more thoughts about ending it all I had. I cannot say I was depressed, because I know how depression feel. I am more unhappy about my life situation and my inability to do the things I want to do. I know exactly what I want from life.
I want to fully recover.
I want to rebuild my social circle since I've always been very good at socializing.
I want to IMPROVE my physically fitness, by running, doing body weight exercises, riding a big, swimming...the list goes on. I so want to be pain free and to be super active.
I wan to start working, to have my own income.
I want so much more from life than this.
BUT...I simply cannot go to doctor, and I know as soon as I decide to go offline once again, and start working towards recovery. I'll have to deal with all this shit, shit I can easily hide away from as I am online. But, being online do not help, it just makes things worse.
I also know that just being offline is not the way to go, you have to actually build the life in which relapse will not even be an option. And I know how to do that, but, because of the leg pain, I am extremely limited in that which I can do.
Anyway, this is indeed a rant. Rant is mostly because I really dislike this leg pain, if it were not for it, it would have been much better.
What would Stoic recommend in this instance is something along the lies, "to love everything happens to you, because, it could always get worse." Like, how would it been if I got cancer and I am not able to get and get adequate treatment?
As for doctor in general, I've considered doing it plenty of times during the last 10 years, but that never happened. So, I am feeling stuck, and that sucks the most. I would have a better time if I did not know what I want from life and if I could just waste my life online. But, unfortunately, that is not the case.
Going to doctor, knowing what is actually wrong with my legs, and what I can do, would indeed be a life changer for me. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen, yet..
In the next few days, I'll go offline and give recovery another go. I will have to experience plenty of leg pain because of all the walking I'll have to do. It will get better once I get back to buses. But, that will take time.
At the end of the day, this post seems more appropriate for
DecidingToBeBetter than this sub. I wrote it here because this was the first time I ever told someone I did actually start contemplating suicide.
Hopefully, things will get better this time. Because, every time I go 120+ days offline, depression creeps in and I have a very hard time.
If anyone read my rant, thank you.

2023.03.21 21:27 TheDinkLife Mom died dad looking for women of "breeding age"
I understand my 51 year old dad is grieving from my mom's death however finding out that he's looking for someone who isn't "old and barren" to start over with is really what childfree people are looking to avoid. My dad has a 6 year old son who is my full brother, all my siblings came from my parents marriage of 29 years 11 months. I am 29 and my sister is 30.my 24 year old sister just got pregnant and all I hear is how my decision is great but what is really the best is starting a family. My dad wants an additional 5 kids so my brother grows up in a big family. I think he's just looking for a 20 year old to bang. He said any age no matter how young is fine as long as she's a young catholic girl (he goes to mass daily now) and is willing to have 5 kids.
I can't help but feel like he's pushing away his older kids. Why breed at 51? Especially going online and taking about how these "barren old ladies" keep on trying to talk to you when they're in their 41 or 42. He wants someone younger than his kids who are "limited".
I mean why do I get to hear about how bad it is to be child free yet banging someone 30 years younger than you to start over is seen as fine as long as you don't get her knocked up before marriage. It's fucked up, right?

2023.03.21 21:23 htrish88 Obsessed much?!
Aww she loves to name drop me how cute! Does that mean she’s in love with me? I mean she talks about ZK all the time and how she’s in love with him so the same must be true for me cause she keeps talking about me! Aww how sweet! I don’t think she likes the fact that I know so much about her to the point where she can’t lie her way out of it. She wants to claim she is a Christian and is seeking a godly man but any Christian man can look her up online and see that she is far from a Christian. She swears to much, dances half naked on camera and posts it for the world to see, and she is clearly not a member of any church. I get that you don’t have to be involved with a church to be a Christian but it certainly helps. I have a friend that is Christian down to the core. They go to church every Wednesday and twice on Sunday’s. Her husband is also the youth pastor. They don’t listen to anything but Christian music, they don’t watch movies that have nudity, drugs, violence, witchcraft or anything. They also make sure the kids never see any of that. Hell there was a show they loved watching on the Disney channel and one day they characters pulled a cauldron out and it was an instant you can no longer watch this show. She also dresses very modest as well as her daughters. No super low cut shirts and shorts and skirts must be knee length. The only person who sees her half naked or full nudity is her husband and only her husband. And if you are a Christian like you say you are then you wouldn’t curse, flip the camera off, dance inappropriately(twerking etc.), and you definitely wouldn’t be dancing around half naked and posting it for the world to see. A Christian man will look the other way and run. I’m sure she will have something to say about this after she reads it cause she has nothing better to do lol

2023.03.21 21:16 -Morel Breed Recommendations: First time owners
Hi, I've been reading tons of these threads and you guys have been super helpful when thinking about what breeds would be right for us. We are probably about 6 months to a year away from seriously looking at the available dogs in the area, so I've been doing breed research - figured I would post my exact answers to confirm or deny the breeds I had in mind. SO and I are in our mid-20s and will be in apartments for the forseeable future (thanks housing markets!). Here are my answers to the questionnaire:
Introduction
1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?
I have had dogs growing up, and am generally pretty good with handling them and understanding their cues - but my SO has not, so I am mostly considering breeds that are better for first-time owners.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?
I am somewhat mixed on this. Both have unique challenges. I like the idea of a rescue, but will need to keep reading about this.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
Good companion dog, medium energy, super friendly, basically the temperament Goldens have, but maybe in a medium sized dog. Emotionally supportive would be great especially, as my SO is a very emotional person. Something with soft fur would be great for the same reason!
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
Personally, I just love the look of Spitz breeds. Samoyeds, Shibas, Schipperkes, Keeshonds - just adorable dogs. But I understand that there are various reasons certain spitzes are either not great for new owners or are fairly rare dogs to come across that would require traveling or going through a breeder with a waitlist. Hence my research has shown me a lot of dogs that are more accessible and suited for first time owners, namely goldens, labs, and greyhounds.
5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
Nothing showy, just enough to behave on walks/at the park.
6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
No, just a companion dog.
Care Commitments
7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
We both work full time, thankfully I am remote so I can pretty much hang out with the dog all day.
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
I am remote and flexible, so I can do a 30m-1h walk in the morning and another after work or even during the day. I have heard that dog parks can mess with a dog's socialization so I'll need to keep reading about this. I understand that high energy working dogs, while adorable, are not suitable for new owners so I've been ruling out Aussies, Huskies, and Border Collies.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
I don't mind regularly brushing a dog to control shedding. I would prefer to do trimming at home, but I'm not fully against paying for a groomer if the breed is better in the hands of a professional.
Personal Preferences
10) What size dog are you looking for?
So, I have only had large dogs and am looking at something more on the medium-smaller size. I've never had a small dog, so I can't rule them out, but to me a dog around the size of an Aussie is good. My SO is pretty light, so a dog that couldn't drag them but is large enough for them to walk alone and feel safe would be perfect.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
I don't mind regularly brushing a dog to control shedding. Excessive barking in the breed would be a problem since we are in apartments, so we'd need to train this away if it's an issue. Same with slobber, "reasonable" is fine.
12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
Not important. If I'm on a hike I'd rather keep a dog on a leash to be considerate of other hikers.
Dog Personality and Behavior
13) Do you want a snuggly dog or one that prefers some personal space?
Snuggly dog! Velcro OK. Part of the reason a medium-sized dog would be great would be to allow it to sit on our laps when we watch movies. A teddy bear dog.
14) Would you prefer a dog that wants to do its own thing or one that’s more eager-to-please?
Leaning eager to please?
15) How would you prefer your dog to respond to someone knocking on the door or entering your yard? How would you prefer your dog to greet strangers or visitors?
We are new to our city and live in apartments for the foreseeable future and plan to meet new people here. Ideally the dog would be friendly to strangers, but "guarded" is okay - just not outright aggressive or nonstop barking around strangers.
16) Are you willing to manage a dog that is aggressive to other dogs?
Willing to try and train this away and finally keep it away from other dogs if need be, yes.
17) Are there any other behaviors you can’t deal with or want to avoid?
Really just aggressive behavior that can't be trained away. This accounts for some hesitancy when we look at rescues.
Lifestyle
18) How often and how long will the dog be left alone?
While SO and I are remote at the moment, that could obviously change. I would prefer a breed that could be left alone during the workday without tearing up the apartment, if needed.
19) What are the dog-related preferences of other people in the house and what will be their involvement in caring for the dog?
SO is new to dogs, but they will be involved. It's just the two of us.
20) Do you have other pets or are you planning on having other pets? What breed or type of animal are they?
No other pets. I suppose years down the line when we're in more suitable housing we'd want a second dog.
21) Will the dog be interacting with children regularly?
Nope.
22) Do you rent or plan to rent in the future? If applicable, what breed or weight restrictions are on your current lease?
Yes, we rent. Apartments here have various rules against pits, dobermans, rotties, GSDs, Malinois. My last dog was a lovely pit/GSD mix that never bit anybody but I'm fully conscious of why apartments often don't allow them. I'm unaware of weight restrictions but am mostly looking at medium breeds anyway.
23) What city or country do you live in and are you aware of any laws banning certain breeds?
Seattle, Washington. Not aware of laws, but will hold to the above apartment banned breeds.
24) What is the average temperature of a typical summer and winter day where you live?
It rains a lot here and spans 35-80 degrees throughout the year with a week or two of snow in the winter. A dog that doesn't mind the rain would be ideal. I understand that short-coat breeds would need winter gear.

2023.03.21 21:14 Interesting-Bat3993 HOW To WAtch "65" OnLine For FREe Streaming?
Sony Pictures! Here are options for downloading or watching 65 streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch the anticipated science fiction movie at home. 65 (2023) available to stream? Is watching 65 on Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
Watch Now👉 65 Full Movie Online Free Watch Now👉 65 Full Movie Online Free In a world with social media at our fingertips, it often seems as if marketing a film is easier than ever. This, of course, has its benefits for both production companies and audiences, with studios having better marketing success with their films and audiences having greater knowledge and therefore choice when it comes to their next viewing experience. Many may argue that this is largely a benefit to the film community, but that debate is for another day. What this does mean however is that when a film with a great cast, crew, and premise comes along and for some unknown reason, chooses to stay mysterious, the attention of many is instantly caught. There are many indie flicks or art-house experiments that go under the radar but, with a film as large as 65, it comes as quite a shock.
65 has been spoken about for years now, with the film being announced back in 2020 and Adam Driver being cast in the movie shortly after the announcement. This gave ample time in this marketing-driven climate for a whole lot of details about the film to emerge. Alas, there have been mere whispers and surface details announced and, to many, it has been long enough now that we must assume this is a marketing tactic. It took until December 2022 for fans to finally get a trailer so with that in mind, and with intrigue rife, here is everything we do know about 65... so far.
When Is the Release Date of 65?
For some reason, the release date of the film has changed several times during its production and post-production process, with many sources often giving conflicting information. In May 2020, it was announced the film would release on May 13, 2022, however, other reports suggested a date in April. More recently, the date was pushed back considerably to March 10, 2023. But that wasn't the end of it and the 65 was delayed by another week and then brought back to the original date. If the current schedule holds, eager fans will be able to catch 65 in theaters on March 10, 2023.
Is 65 streaming or in Theater?
"65" is not streaming for sure yet. Besides this, given the lack of information available on the movie, we are unaware of any streaming websites where the movie might be available. Let alone the date, when will it be? All we know about the film is a mysterious astronaut on a mysterious planet, which has led to mysterious marketing for what seems to be a mysterious film.
Where to watch 65 Online Free:
As of now, the only way to watch 65 is to head to a theater when it releases on Friday, March 3. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Vudu, Peacock, Apple and YouTube, or become available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Following its release in theaters, the film will be available to stream on Prime Video. Expect the movie to hit the streamer 45 days after its theatrical run, which should be sometime in April. it's most likely that Prime Video will be the main platform that will stream 65.
Is 65 Streaming on Netflix?
65 won't probably be available on Netflix because Paramount Plus should be the only streaming service to provide it. That would be a very bizarre move on the part of Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group to permit the horror film to stream elsewhere.
Is 65 streaming on HBO Max?
65 is expected to stream on HBO Max at some point after its theatrical run. No official streaming release date for the movie has yet been given, but as it comes from Warner Bros., it will likely arrive on the platform after its cinematic debut barring some unprecedented events or a unique deal.
Is 65 streaming on Prime Video?
After completing its huge $8.5 billion acquisition of MGM, the movie studio behind 65, in March 2022, Amazon Studios will undoubtedly be making the film available to stream on their Prime Video platform.
The first two Creed movies are available to watch on the streaming service, so it is just a matter of time before 65 also makes an appearance. No official date has yet been set, but it will likely take a couple of months from the film’s theatrical release before it is available for streaming.
Is 65 Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new movie 65 on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service. fedsg

2023.03.21 21:11 chinadigital_agency Remote Business in China: Overview on Chinese Cross-Border Platforms
| Since the beginning of the 20th century international trade has been a major driver of China's GDP growth. The liberalization of trade associated with free trade zones is now supported by the development of cross border ecommerce and online retailers business. There are some famous examples of Western online retail sites such as Amazon. China, however, is now a leading country in the field of online shopping development. Today we have prepared a detailed article for you with an overview of the TOP 9 popular and working cross-border ecommerce online marketplaces in China for remote business. In this article, you will learn why cross-border ecommerce is one of the most convenient ways for global brands from other countries to do business in the world's second largest economy using the potential of today's largest ecommerce market. Author: Alexander Sabantsev, China Digital Marketing Agency https://preview.redd.it/wcvrcwo2f5pa1.png?width=861&format=png&auto=webp&s=696bf2aa1ffad51d19558471ea2c748b5d775d8b The benefits of working with Chinese customers through cross border e-commerce are a driver for any Chinese company to increase revenue, as leading e-commerce platforms and online shopping help to improve the connection between Chinese sellers and Chinese shoppers. Chinese shoppers are mostly online shoppers, as the average Chinese spends more than 5 hours a day on mobile services. Modern Chinese consumers consider online retail as the most convenient way to easily select goods from both Chinese businesses and international sellers, who in turn are interested in online sales as a way to reduce costs and benefit from the flash sales effect. Nowadays, the cross-border Chinese ecommerce system allows foreign companies to conduct business activities through a global supply chain and enter China's complex market without having to establish a Chinese legal entity, open an account in a Chinese bank, and create a very expensive operational infrastructure such as opening an office, a warehouse, hiring employees, etc. In order to attract as many foreign brands as possible, most of China's major marketplaces, interested in increasing the number of third party sellers, have launched cross-border trading sections on their platforms in recent years. Tmall Global Founded in 2014, Tmall Global is a leading cross border China online marketplace and one of the fastest growing ecommerce platforms with a large market share among other online marketplaces in China which are engaged in international trade. This China marketplace is a special online platform for trading imported goods of the flagship Chinese online marketplace – Tmall owned by Alibaba Group. 800 million people are active Tmall users, and one in eight of them shop on Tmall Global. About 30% of the more than 100 million audience belong to Generation Z, the most active group of Chinese consumers on China market. On the other hand, Tmall Global sells 35 000 international brands from over 90 countries through its online marketplace market. For 80% of them, Jack Ma's online marketplace has become the first sales channel in the Chinese market with one of the highest transaction volumes. Such popularity of this China marketplace is explained by the fact that Tmall has never had a clear specialization in the sale of goods related to a very narrow product niche. As a result, Tmall Global generally attracts a wide variety of shoppers with a wide variety of needs. However, unlike Taobao mall which operates on the consumer-to-consumer model, Tmall is not an online marketplace for small businesses. Entry requirements are high for both domestic companies and international merchants. Chinese online marketplaces Tmall and Tmall Global are more attractive for global brands specializing in manufacturing high quality products, the probability of buying counterfeit products on one of the largest chain store in China is minimal. We should note that manufacturers of beauty and health products and light-weight snacks with medium and high margins should pay special attention to this platform. Home page (left), product card (center) and Tmall Global online store page (right) Kaola Kaola is another leading Chinese marketplace and is one of the largest online marketplaces engaged in cross-border ecommerce. The Kaola platform attracts over 30 million users with a 25% market share of all cross-border Chinese marketplaces trade transactions in China. The name of the Chinese marketplace (consonant with the word "koala") suggests that it was originally focused exclusively on Australian brands. But a little later, the scope of the Chinese online marketplace expanded to include the sale of imported goods from all over the world. However, unlike Tmall and some other Chinese marketplaces, Kaola is positioned as a slightly more "prestigious" China online marketplace for the Chinese middle class whose representatives often go to the platform for shopping. The loyalty of this demanding group of consumers is ensured by a strict system of product selection and quality control. The online marketplace has even developed its own system that helps shoppers track the customs history of goods using QR codes. Thanks to this, users have no doubts about the authenticity of the goods sold. As a result, the brand's presence on Kaola increases its appeal in China. The main product categories on the Chinese marketplace are infant formula and other children's products, snacks, health foods, cosmetics, apparel, accessories and home appliances. Home page (left), product card (center) and online store page (right) J.D. Worldwide JD Worldwide, the import section of another popular third party marketplace JD.com, is seen as an alternative to the top online marketplaces such as Tmall Global for exporters looking to generate revenue from cross-border trade. JD has become a famous China marketplace for having the most developed system of its own warehouses and delivery of goods. The company is also trying to maintain its brand by working with foreign merchants. JD Worldwide has partnered with global (DHL) and regional (Australia Post and Yamato) logistics leaders. In addition, the Chinese online marketplace has 32 warehouses for cross-border trade. In January 2022, JD announced a partnership with western e-commerce giant Shopify. This allowed Shopify sellers to enter the Chinese market through JD with little to no effort. As with Tmall, almost every conceivable category of B2C products is sold on the JD platform. However, manufacturers of goods for automobiles, home appliances and electronics should pay special attention to JD Worldwide. The majority of Chinese consumers look for such goods on JD, expecting the high quality approach and effective after sales services. Today, it is difficult to consider JD as one of the pure play marketplaces because its scope is quite broad. JD Worldwide home page (left), promotional offers section (center) and product card (right) Duoduo International The Pinduoduo marketplace (PDD) became a major Chinese ecommerce sensation in the second half of the 2010s due to two reasons. First, unlike other popular Chinese online marketplaces, Pinduoduo is a group shopping system that allows users to buy together at very deep discounts. The second is its focus on consumers from China's affluent hinterland. But it has also become a source of vulnerability in the e-commerce platform's business model. Although Pinduoduo's active users are on par with the market leader Tmall, the total sales of goods on the site are significantly lower than those on Alibaba's marketplace and some other Chinese online marketplaces. In order to somehow solve this problem, Pinduoduo launched its own cross-border section - Duoduo International in 2019. As a newcomer in this business, PDD started to attract foreign brands with favorable conditions for entering the Chinese marketplace. Unlike other marketplaces, the owners of online stores on Duoduo International do not have to pay an annual service fee, and the registration deposit and order commission are noticeably lower than those of competitors. However, cross-border from PDD has a significant drawback – the marketplace does not have its own warehouses and logistics solutions, so sellers have to deal with these issues themselves. Pinduoduo is actively developing the trade of foreign cosmetics and perfumes. Taking into account the main audience of the site, we can recommend Duoduo International to manufacturers of conspicuous consumption products. Pinduoduo home page (left), product card (center) and online store page (right) Douyin Cross Border Douyin, the Chinese twin brother of TikTok, has become a symbol of the convergence of social media and online retail in China. Douyin has many of the elements needed to succeed in e-commerce. On the one hand, it has the most engaging content formats – short videos watched by 900 million Chinese on various platforms, and live broadcasts, which became one of the main profit-making tools in Chinese online commerce in the 2010s. On the other hand, there are more than 600 million active users and an army of influencers who have earned the trust of their subscribers. Therefore, in 2018, Douyin entered the e-commerce market, initially by actively collaborating with Alibaba marketplaces. Two years later, Douyin broke off its partnership with Tmall and built its own infrastructure to provide full-cycle in-app trading. And in 2021, it began to attract foreign brands for cross-border trade. On the whole, cross-border trading on Douyin is still in the early stages of development, which allows even small-brand product sellers to carve out a significant niche on the platform. However, when choosing which products to display and how to promote them, it is very important to remember that Douyin is the territory of wealthy Gen Z consumers. Video (left), product search (center) and online store page (right) on Douyin Kuaishou Cross Border Kuaishou, with its 400 million viewers, is often metaphorically called "TikTok for the Chinese village". The majority of its users are young residents of provincial cities who prefer to watch short videos about people similar to themselves, rather than about the daily lives of rich KOLs. Although Kuaishou is still playing catch-up with Douyin, the social network began to engage in e-commerce much earlier than its main competitor. As a result, about 20% of the company's revenue now comes from e-commerce (while Douyin still relies mainly on advertising revenue). But at the same time, like Douyin, Kuaishou only announced the start of its cross-border business last year. Therefore, this part of Kuaishou's business is still in its infancy, which may be even more beneficial for exporters - the platform will offer more favorable cooperation terms and additional services at this stage. However, it is not so easy to get on Kuaishou now - the site only accepts manufacturers of cosmetics, food, watches and luxury goods, and then only by invitation from Kuaishou itself. Video (left), online store page (center) and product card (right) on Kuaishou VIP International VIP.com is one of the oldest Chinese marketplaces, as well as the world's largest flash-sale marketplace (the main method of sales on it is discount offers that are valid for no more than 24 hours). The products that are sold on this Chinese marketplace are mainly related to the fashion industry – clothes, shoes, cosmetics, etc. While VIP.com is no match for the largest marketplaces in China's overall e-commerce market, its cross-border division, VIP International, is among the market leaders, accounting for approximately 10% of China's cross-border B2C commerce. Buying popular brands at low prices is what its users come to the platform for. Therefore, unless you are a world famous brand, VIP.com is unlikely to be your first sales channel in China. VIP.com main page (left), product card (center) and online store page (right) Little Red Book Cross-Border If Douyin and Kuaishou are Chinese versions of TikTok, then Little Red Book (or simply RED) can be loosely described as the local Instagram. On this platform, ordinary users and influencers talk about their lifestyles and write reviews on the products they use (mostly these are clothes, cosmetics, skin care products). Other users can purchase the products shown in the photos with just a few clicks. This can be done both in stores within the application and by clicking on links to third-party marketplaces (for example, Tmall). In this way, a business account on Little Red Book can serve two functions at once – an independent sales channel and a tool for promoting products on other platforms. It is worth noting that RED has a very unusual demographic profile – about 90% of the platform's 100 million audience are women. Little Red Book home page (left), shopping section (center), and product card (right) Suning Global Suning was originally known in China as a large offline retailer of various electronics. Later, it began to expand both in terms of the breadth of the range of goods in various categories, and in terms of its presence on the Chinese Internet. One step in Suning's e-commerce push was to attract cross-border brands from overseas. However, Suning is not only waiting for brands of foreign electronic equipment to enter its marketplace. The company writes on its website that it primarily would like to see foreign manufacturers of baby food, cosmetics, shoes, bags and food products on its platform. In addition, while other major e-commerce platforms prefer to deal with brands that have not yet entered the Chinese market, Suning explicitly states that brands that are already listed on Tmall or JD are more likely to open an online store. To date, Suning is the least significant of the major players, with its marketplace accounting for approximately 1.5% of the total cross-border market in China. Home page (left), product card (center) and online store page (right) Conclusions Today, more than 1400 categories of various products can be exported to China through cross-border channels (a complete list of these categories can be found at the link – a document in Chinese). Today cross-border ecommerce gives numerous opportunities to purchase inventory directly, buy consumer products from foreign brands, etc. You can open your own cross-border online store on a dozen Chinese platforms and become a successful online retailer. Some of them are traditional marketplaces, while others are social networks with e-commerce features. But despite the differences, their requirements for exporters are similar: ● Entity registered outside of China ● Foreign registered trademark ● Statement from a foreign bank account ● Copy of passport of company's representative ● Payment of a refundable deposit (from $1.5 thousand on Pinduoduo to $10-47 thousand dollars on Tmall, depending on the category) ● Payment of an annual service fee (from $1 thousand for JD to $4.7-9.4 thousand for Tmall) ● Platform commission on orders (from 0.6% on Pinduoduo to 2-10% on Kaola) Trading through cross-border makes it much easier to do business in China. The absence of the need to open a legal entity and a bank account in China helps reduce the risks of entering an unfamiliar market. Thus, small brands have the opportunity to test the demand for their products in China or prove to investors that they are promising without large initial investments. China is closer than you think. submitted by chinadigital_agency to u/chinadigital_agency [link] [comments] |

2023.03.21 21:04 sunshineroundabouts I make £103K and I spent £370 on a long weekend trip to Northern France
I don’t see many travel diaries for Europe or the UK so thought it would be nice to do an example of a long weekend!
For reference I live with my partner and share some housing / bills with him but keep all other money separately, however I went on holiday with one of my friends.
Section 1: Bio
Age - 34
Occupation - Tech Manager
Hometown - East Sussex
Number of PTO days and how you accrue them - in the UK most people get at least 25 days annual leave plus public holidays. In addition to this I get the option to buy holiday as part of my benefits - I do this every year, usually between 6 and 10 days, so this year I have 31 days.
Section 2: Assets and debt
Savings balance: We bought a house early last year with my partner, that wiped out most savings! I’ve probably got £10,000 now across stocks and shares ISAs and standard savings pots.
Checking balance: About £1500
Debt: Other than a giant mortgage, no other debt.
Section 3: Income
Salary after deductions: Around ~£5K per month - that’s after tax, NI, pension, life / critical illness insurance, health insurance, holiday purchase deductions
My pals overall situation: I don’t know her specifics but she works in PR and makes somewhere in the area of £60-70K per year.
Section 4: Travel expenses
I have kept all costs as combined through the diary and then have done the split at the end.
We wanted to do a long weekend Europe trip but wanted it to be pretty relaxed and I didn’t feel like taking a flight so we eventually decided on doing the Eurotunnel.
For reference, the Eurotunnel is where you drive your own car onto a train and then the train goes through the channel tunnel from the UK to France. We then thought we would do a bit of northern France and do a bit of exploring! I've done other areas of France previously but never further North than Paris.
Pre trip:
Eurotunnel and insurance - £213 - we booked this beforehand, this is return for one car with two people in it. It was a fixed time train each way, and includes car insurance for when we were in France for three days.
I also spent £40 on a “prepare your car for Europe” kit which included what you must have in your car to legally drive in France (high viz jacket, first aid kit, breathalysers, light deflectors etc) - I haven’t included this in the trip expense totals because we will reuse it many times for trips, and to be honest seems like a handy thing to have in the car anyway!
Air bnb - £155 - we booked the accommodation beforehand, we booked two nights in Lille in a studio apartment with one double bed and one sofa bed. I always like to get an AirBnb as it gives more flexibility to stay in, have your own kitchen and have a bit more space!
I didn’t book separate travel insurance - I get full year cover as part of one of my bank accounts.
Accommodation total: £155
Transport total: £213
Pre trip total: £368
Day 1
9.30 - I pick up my pal from a nearby train station then drive down to Folkestone where the Tunnel is. I am very excited to take my car on a train!! We stop off for fuel at the services nearby so that I won’t need to figure out France petrol stations - it only needs half a tank to fill, we also pick up snacks for the drive £40 for fuel and £5 for snacks.
11.30 - our train is at 12.20 but we arrive about an hour before. Check-in is super easy and we get a little sign to hang from the mirror to show what our train number is. We park up at the terminal and wait for the signs to show to proceed. We grab a drink from the terminal whilst we wait £4.
12.30 - whizz through both passport controls and then drive on the train! So weird to be sat in a car which isn’t moving on a train which is speeding along. The train takes 35 minutes and then you can just drive straight off onto the motorway. We lose an hour with the time difference so arrive at 2pm.
2 - we have no plans as we've both been so busy with work and decided to just see how we get on! But the signs on the motorway says Dunkirk and that’s a place I’ve never been so we head there which is about a 35 minute drive. Park the car £1.
3 - wander around Dunkirk looking at the war memorials and the pretty harbour. Buy some cheese baguettes to keep us going - £5.
5 - back in the car to drive to Lille where the AirBnb is which is about an hour away. We stop off at Lidl to buy some provisions (bread and cheese ofc), snacks, Prosecco, champagne, and tonic for the bottle of gin I brought with me from home - comes to £45 but £15 was the bargain champagne!
5.30 - check into the Airbnb. Promptly drop my bottle of champagne on the floor and it smashes everywhere. £15 well spent… spend ages cleaning it up. Have a glass of Prosecco to commiserate.
7 - decide we need to go out for a drink to make up for the champagne. Head out to a nearby French restaurant - food is delish, service isn’t excellent but overall a lovely evening catching up - £65.
9 - head back, more Prosecco, put the sofa bed up and then off to sleep eventually around 11.
Day 1 total: £165
Day 2
9 - time to explore Lille! We get our walking shoes on and start to explore the city - lots of walking down little streets. We do the classic of wandering from cafe to patisserie with a snack here, a drink there, comes to about £15 for the three breaks. The city of Lille is beautiful - it didn't get as destroyed in the war compared to Dunkirk so full of French architecture and big grand squares.
11 - walk a bit out of town to the Citadel and do a big walk around the park outside. You can't go in the citadel but its still a very nice spot to walk around.
1 - time for proper lunch!! We fancy crepes and thankfully we are in France! Find a great crepe restaurant and have a sweet and a savoury - ham and goats cheese which is so good. Plus a couple of glasses of wine - £27
2 - there are so many chocolate shops due to how close we are to Belgium. Pop into one and buy some chocolate as a gift for my partner - £7
3 - feet are getting tired by this point so make the 25 minute hike home - almost 20,000 steps today! We are exhausted. Collapse in the Airbnb for introvert time of tv, phones and ignoring each other.
4 - I for some reason start to feel a bit off and have a bad stomach (too much cheese and wine?! Surely not). Make the decision to stay in for the evening.
7 - have a little bit of gin which I brought with me and watch a movie on Amazon Prime. End up getting Uber eats of some pizza - £25. I used to feel guilty when we stayed in when I was on hols but now I know that I need to not be exhausted when I get back so a night in is okay! We did so much exploring that we did make the most of seeing Lille. Plus I know it's so close now, I can pop back!
10 - water, reading, bed!
Day 2 total: £74
Day 3
8 - feel much better this morning - so thankful! Nothing like being ill when you know you need to travel, I was worried it would not be a good driving day today. Glad I got lots of sleep!
10 - clean up the Airbnb and pop to the patisserie for croissants - £2, before hitting the road and driving back to Calais to do some exploring. It's raining a bit but clears up when we hit Calais - win!
11.30 - it’s about an hour and ten back to Calais. Driving hasn’t been too bad considering it’s the wrong side of the road for me and the wrong side of the car! I was a bit worried about it but as long as I just tell myself continually to drive on the right then it seems to be okay! I want to go to the lace and fashion museum as it sounds interesting. We park - £1 - and then walk over. It’s £8 for both of us to get in because it only has one exhibit on - bargain! Very much enjoyed it, never realised so much went into lace or that there were so many different types!
1 - time for our final lunch! Head to a probably too touristy restaurant and the food wasn’t great. Clearly means time to go home! £27
2 - head back to the Eurotunnel and stop in the terminal once we are checked in. Pop into duty free and buy 2 bottles of rum as they are a bargain, plus some macarons as a gift - £33. Stop for a drink in Starbucks - £8.
3.30 - another speedy trip through the tunnel! Save an hour on the way back too. Head back and drive home. Used about three quarters of a tank of fuel so quite pleased with that. So nice to have a lovely break, see somewhere new but also return back not feeling utterly exhausted!
Day 3 total: £79
Section 5: Overall
Total cost for both of us: £686
Total cost for what I paid: £370 (half most costs, plus full cost of rum, smashed champagne and gifts)
How I afforded the trip: I’ve only recently started earning more so I’m still a very naturally frugal traveller! Plus most of what I enjoy when travelling is just wandering about and eating the delicious food.
I split the cost so did all the pre trip costs earlier in the year so it doesn’t feel like all at once. I then usually put my “spending money” onto my Monzo which I don’t use for anything else - makes it really easy to track how much I’m spending and keep an eye on it. This was probably lower that I expected for the trip because we didn't go out for dinner on the second night which definitely saved some money!
