2023.03.21 20:50 Takeshi_Tak GPU fan 0 rpm

I recently noticed that GeForce experience shows 0 rpm for my GPU(GTX 1650), so i tried using FanControl and MSI Afterburner and all shows 0 rpm,but when i opened the case the fans were spinning normally. I've tried deleting and installing new drivers but no change. Is there any solution to this?

I want better frames for games but no idea whether to upgrade memory, graphics card or CPU. Tend to notice it's normally my CPU getting to full usage so I was planning on upgading that. Currently running intel I5 9500F, geforce gtx 1660 super, and one stick of 16 GB ram. Any suggestions, even software/ settings is appreciated anything that will make AAA titles run smoothly

Already owned: Samsung 870 Evo 2 TB (upgrade on current build), RTX 3080 (purchased cheap from a friend), and the 60 Hz monitor (looking to run it as a secondary monitor).
I'm not very knowledgeable about motherboards but did my best to pick a good one from the compatible list after everything else had been selected, my current mobo is MSI so kind of gravitated toward that as I've had 0 problems with my current one. Am able to source the currently listed mobo locally for what seems like a good price after looking at prices online. Am able to source the current CPU from the same location for ~30$ less than purchasing online.
I'm also not entirely sure how fans get powered (I've un-hooked and re-hooked fans in my current build from a 3-pin cable but that's all I know) so am unable to know that I'll be able to run all the fans I've selected easily?
All ears for any recommendations on sidegrades or upgrades with small price increases that you think would fit the build a bit better, but I'm looking to keep the price around the current one give or take a bit. Performance gains for price decreases notwithstanding of course.

2023.03.21 20:47 JaHu6 pc runs but no signal

I tried to change my cpu cooler, everything went good, I turn pc on, pc is running normally (fans are on, pc isnt restarting, went though POST normally) but no signal on monitor. I have tried 3 different gpu's, 2 monitors, 3 cables, no difference. Everything is working on another motherboard. That's why I thought its mobo pcie's problem. Ive sent mobo to shop, but they checked it and it normally gave video output for them. They have sent it back to me but its still not working. I have also tried different ram, but no results. So last thing that can cause it must be CPU, but is it possible that cpu is broken, but successfully runs through POST and gives no video signal? Is there anything I can do besides changing cpu? Also, strange thing is that when I take out all ram sticks, it doesnt change anything, pc is normally running and isnt restarting (like its running exactly the same when ram is in). Unfortunately this little speaker isnt working so I dont know of there are any beep codes, but i think there are not because pc isnt restarting. I also did reset bios. What else can I check? i3 12100F, RX 6600, b660m ds3h, 2x8gb adata xpg gammix ram, vero l3 600w psu, kioxia g2 drive

2023.03.21 20:41 crying_lemon Help with Gigabyte B550

Hi! how are you doing ? I m looking for some help with my B550 AORUS PRO AC. Three days ago, i found something strange in the BIOS. All the temp, voltages also fan sensors are gone, the bios its telling that its sending 3v to core, -1°C of temp, no fan speed etc. Also the RGB of the motherboard was off(that its what send me to the bios to check) also the CPU light in the motherboard its ON. Its working, it dindt kill anything, all the fans are full blast i think and also from hardware info all the temps (either cpu, motherboard) are looking normal, but no fan. Also the Voltages are OK. I Resseted the BIOS (i was in F15), with jumper, removed the battery, the works. Also Flashed the BIOS with the same one F15, then upgraded to F16d or F16b (the lattest one). Has anyone encountered this before ?. Thx for the help.
PS: i looked in some forums, that one dude rolled back the bios and it helped, but i was told that was unsafe to do it.

2023.03.21 20:39 machinegunhaze RX 580 on an HP 18E7 motherboard? Does it fits / work?

Well, that's it. Can't find information on the net so I'm hanging on Reddit's magic
I have an HP ProDesk 600 G1 and I want to upgrade it a bit, nothing fancy. I have a slim case and I'm thinking that it migth be a problem.
I mention a Radeon RX-580 8gb as my first option because a friend suggested it. Nonetheless I'm up for other options you want to propose for slim cases.
I just want to play Car X smoothly 🥺 and maybe warzone

2023.03.21 20:38 OctaneAddicted NZXT T120 cooler with NZXT Aer RGB 120mm fan?

Hey!
Looking to buy a new fancy cooler for my Ryzen 7 1700. I was wondering if I could fit the NZXT Aer RGB fan on the T120 cooler. Since I have this fan laying around (no space in the case) and already installed NZXT Hue to controll the RGB, would those two be ok working together? Dimensions seem fine but idk about the airflow etc.
Am on mobile, sorry for formating, TIA!

2023.03.21 20:38 chrisdbliss Rate My Build for 04/2023

I am buying a new computer next month and with the help of my buddy, I have a list of computer parts to get. The only piece I am not buying is the graphics card. I don't have the money for a new graphics card and am being gifted a 2070 until I can buy a new one. I plan on upgrading the gpu later on. I will mostly be using this computer for gaming but I do enjoy dabbling in content creation and dabbling in AI tools. I would love to get this community's thoughts on my build before I pull the trigger so give me all your thoughts/suggestions! :)

2023.03.21 20:37 teize Phanteks p400a rgb being weird

For awhile I thought the fans had broken after I upgraded some parts in my PC for the first time (one being my psu) but later found out I must plug them into the psu as well as the motherboard. After I got them working again the rgb controller buttons have been acting weird. I have to hold them down for them to work and a lot of the rgb presets just are not there anymore and when I try to turn them on the rgb just shuts off completely. My fans are connected to a fan hub because my gigabyte b460m ds3h does not have enough places for me to plug each of the fans in although the fan hub has never given me an issue like this before. Anyone know what I should do? Like a software I could download? Or should I just get some new fans?

2023.03.21 20:37 kingofallnorway My 5 year old PC is creaky and needs updating. I'm rusty too.

My gut tells me i7 minimum, 4070 Ti minimum. However, I also wonder if a 4080 or even 4080 Ti could be worth it seeing how long the 1080 Ti kept me satisfied. Playing at ultra isn't necessary, but even in 2017 I went for 1440p 165Hz. Now I'm at 240Hz.
What do I do? Where do I start? Wait for 14700K?

2023.03.21 20:37 sycomania134 Unresponsiveness after boot after recent upgrade

About a month ago upgraded my CPU, GPU, and installed a new m.2 drive. Recently I've been encountering some strange issues after booting. At first, I was getting an unresponsive task bar, I could navigate the menus and such but I couldn't click anything (including shutdown and restart buttons), and ctrl + alt + delte and ctrl+ shift + escape weren't working. Deleting bitdefender fixed this but seems to have introduced some new issues. I've now had one instance where my pc completely froze in the login screen after booting, forcing me to hard reset my PC. On another instance, my taskbar was unresponsive, and clicking the sleep button in the start menu got me stuck in the windows loading screen, and I ended up hard resetting my PC again. Unfortunately there is not one exact symptom that I can replicate, it's always different and seems to happen about 40% of the time when I boot my PC in the morning. So far this has only happened after booting my PC. If I can boot into the desktop properly then everything works fine the entire day. I've done a virus scan and will probably run memtest for a few hours but I suspect that isn't the issue. Temperatures are fine and all drivers are up to date.
Here are my specs:
GPU: Aorus Master RTX 3080
CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D
Motherboard: Aorus b450 Pro
RAM: 32GB HyperX 3200mhz
Boot Drive: WD Blue SN500 500GB
Storage Drive: WD Blue SN570 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM850x
OS: Windows 10 Home

2023.03.21 20:34 mosshadow Help upgrading Ram on Omen 40L

I have a prebuilt Omen 40L that came with 2x8 GB Hyperx Fury RAM sticks and I am looking to get 2 more 8 GB sticks. However I found that these particular memory sticks are no longer sold and its recommended to buy memory sticks in sets to make sure that they all would contain the exact specifications. So I am looking for advice on what set of 4x8GB sticks would give me the best performance.
Specs: MotherBoard:HP 8949 (AM4)
CPU:AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
GPU:4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (HP)
RAM:16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1596MHz (22-22-22-52)
2 slots out of 4 filled. Looks to be Hyperx Fury

2023.03.21 20:32 PinkPartyPants Help to pick out a case + feedback on build!

Hey! I'm really leaning toward this build and I'd love some feedback on it.
I'm still not sure about the case, though. It stands between the 4000D, the NZXT H7 Flow, and Fractal Design's Torrent. I like the lights on the H7 but I'll take function over form any day of the week. If you'd recommend another case entirely I'd love to hear it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Built a PC about a year ago. Computer out of nowhere just died and wouldn't turn on for about 5 minutes. I did notice about a month ago a weird clicking noise coming from the PC and its blue screened maybe once in the past year? Is this signs of a failing PSU or just dust and weather? The more I type the more it seems PSU related. Would like some opinions.

2023.03.21 20:22 phxfan 3440 X 1440 120HZ Build questions- Intel 13700K build or AMD AM5 7900 build?

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
1440P 3440X1440 ultrawide screen monitor at 120Hz/FPS+. Typical games would be Cyberpunk, Starfield when it comes out, etc.
Purely gaming, light productivity. I typically try to do a new PC build every 5 years, so I don't mind spending a bit more on the front end without planning to replace parts very often. My last build I ended up not feeling a need to do any upgrades, but if an upgrade path would allow to keep me to keep the PSU/Mobo/RAM and upgrade the CPU/GPU down the road, I am open to that! Does it make sense to go the intel route now with a limited upgrade path, or does a AMD AM5 7900X with a goal of replacing CPU/GPU as needed in-3-5 years make sense? I know the Intel build would provide better performance now, but maybe the AMD build path would be strong enough where I can swap out the CPU if needed in a few years?
On a side note, I intend to buy the GPU down the line in a month or two to see if the prices come down a bit further. Would the integrated graphics on the 13700K be enough for some older gaming, ie Minecraft, for kiddos before the GPU arrives?
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
$2,500-$3,000. There is some slight flex in that potentially.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
USA
**Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please).
