This is a long story so buckle up. I've always had a bad relationship with my mother. I'm her youngest child she had on accident when she was 41. (I'm 22 now) my siblings are both 30. She's always treated them so well. She'd never out right say she didn't love me but she'd always say "I have 2 kids I love so much" "my 2 kids are everything to me" and stuff like that. After my older siblings moved out (I was 12 at the time) my dad left her after enduring her abuse for 20 years... but he didn't take me with him. Which may have been for the best as my mom had convinced me he was an addict and I was scared of him. My mom would sit in her room and scream for hours on end calling him every name in the book. It was super scary to see because she wasn't talking to anyone. I'd just be in my room and hear her screaming like she was dying for HOURS everyday when I came home from school.
Soon this escalated to her hitting me everyday and then telling people I would hit her? She'd scratch her arms and say I did it in a rage when even when she was hitting me I never hit her I'd usually just take it until she'd start choking me and then I'd push her away because I didn't want to die. She's broken 3 of my toes pretty badly from stepping on them on with all her body weight and when I cried she laughed and said I deserved it. Cps showed up twice and ultimately made things worse as when they left she'd freak out at me and call me a liar and say im "evil and not of Jesus christ" my moms a mormon but she really doesn't practice very religiously. We only went to church sometimes so I never took it super seriously but she'd act like we were a super Christian godly household.
She would take me to so many therapists and psychiatrists saying that there was something wrong with me. The psychiatrists were very prescription happy. But the therapists always tell me when I was alone with them that my mom was seriously mentally ill. When they'd try and have her work on herself too she'd rage quit therapy and go find another one. Last time I talked to her she was telling me about how hard it is having a mentally ill child "I've spent so much money on therapy and pills for you! My other children didn't need any of that!"
I ended up going to live with my dad when I was 14-16 but my step mother took issue with me. To this day im unsure why. I was always nice to her and helped around the house, did well in school. She was constantly mean. So they sent me back to live with my mom and the cycle of abuse with her started again.
I got through my senior year and she kicked me out without notice on my 18th birthday. I was going to move out once school was out but she demanded I left sooner. So I did. I had to live in my car with everything i owned for a week before I found an apartment. She told everyone that she kicked me out because I hit her and threw a book at her face and that just didn't happen. I did throw a book but it wasn't at her or anywhere near her.
Shortly after my senior year I ended up getting pregnant. Really stupid move on my part. I still feel guilty and it's been 3 years. I tried my best to keep my birth son but i was homeless and working 10 hour days at 7 months pregnant. So I ended up asking a nice infertile couple who I knew were looking to adopt if they would adopt my boy. They did and they have been amazing. At first my mom was like "oh my daughters so great she chose life" and all that BS. (I'm not pro life. Just her) The adoption is open so we both get to see him sometimes and she's kind of like an extra grandma to him and I'm like an aunt maybe? But it eventually turned to her shaming me for being an unfit mother. Calling me fat because of baby weight. Shaming me for getting pregnant by a guy who hit me. (He didn't start till after I was pregnant)
It's gotten to the point where she legitimately tries to make me jealous by going on about how she's my birth sons favorite person. I've never seen them together and if that was the case I wouldn't care but her trying to use my baby as a pawn weirds me out so much. He's only 2! She also didn't see him for months because she told his adoptive parents "you guys seem stressed Maybe you should give him to someone better fit to parent" when the adoptive mom was struggling a bit caring for a new born because it's so hard!
She's taking my siblings to Italy this summer for a big trip and told them that she can't take me because I'm mentally ill. I told her very respectfully that I was very hurt I felt like the "redheaded step child" to which she just said I was a spoiled brat and she doesn't owe me anything and that it's my own fault I'm "miserable" and that ill never heal unless i got on medication again and stop blaming her etc. She has them over every weekend to do stuff and not me.
For the most part I'm no contact with her. I still am around my siblings. They have helped me immensely and I love them. But I just am so lost on how to handle my mom. My son's birthday is on the 3rd and she's gonna be there. I'm so nervous. She makes me physically ill to be around. She's accused me of hitting her even as an adult and runs around like she's a victim of abuse. She tells people that I hit her and her stories don't line up at all and are so blatantly fake and then says the stories I've told of my childhood are made up in my mind because I'm mentally ill and that I abused her from the ages of 10 and up. Even sometimes tries to shame me for temper tantrums I had in my terrible 2's.
Idk whats wrong with her. She's been diagnosed with autism and depression but that's it.

Hey everyone! My surgery is schedule for August 21st, and I couldn’t be more excited. I live in NYC, and my surgery will have to happen on Long Island. However, it’s best that I go to my parents’ home in NJ for at least the first week or two of recovery. I plan to ask my surgeon what he thinks, but I’m curious to hear your thoughts: Do you think it will be betteeasier to just get in the car and drive the 1.5 hours to my parents home directly after surgery, or should we plan to stay in a hotel for the following day or two? It sounds terribly uncomfortable to spend the first days post-op in a hotel, but at least I’ll be near my surgeon. I also feel like it might be easier to sit in a car when I’m still groggy from anesthesia/medicine as opposed to the days following when I’m sure I’ll be in more pain. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you!
Edited to add: my surgeon does the first post-op appointment a week later, so I wouldn’t need to see him that first week until then, assuming all goes well.

I'm 23 right now and I had a long sit down with my dad yesterday talking about my passion which was to be a pilot .

I want to be a pilot I do, but via the advice of my father it's best to ask the hard questions first.

Passion isnt an issue , i want this and i'm willing to go great lengths to achieve this but my future is a concern

This concern about my future as a pilot is specifically regarding several topics:

1. Paying off loans and ability to buy a house and a car in the future and being able to provide.

To senior pilots or captains out there, Assuming all goes to plan , I graduate at age 25 , I start getting a job in the airline industry as a second officer type rated on an a320 being on the observer's seat (example only , realistically I will take any aircraft type rating the airline offers me but I have a goal of getting type rated on multiple aircrafts throughout my life to increase my career security) . From this age and this position , how long would it realistically take (based on your average salary that you have earned incrementally from the lowest position up to captain) to be financially secure enough to :

A. Pay off my loans completely
B. Buy a house and being able to pay it off
C. Buy a decent car and being able to pay it off
D. Start a family and provide Extremely well

How long did it took you guys to achive A,B,C and D ? Would I be able to do this by age 30? 35? 40 ? 50 ?

Assuming all goes well, I pass flying school , I gain the hours I start as a second officer and I start building my career.. I do everything right I follow every single rule of the book.
But there has to be a corporate catch somewhere ... some kind of grey area where as much as I follow the rules , there could be management grey areas or unspoken rules about the airline industry that I must abide by . If there is , what are they and how would I go about that .

Is there any favouritism in the industry, has anyone ever been fired by the airlines before for apparently no good reason other than 'you follow the rules but we just dont like you / we want to hire another pilot because he has ties to a fellow colleague / gov body /family ,'? Has any of you ever experienced a delay in your promotion to captain because other pilots got the queue cut due to connections ?

I know this is an LSAT oriented question, but I figured since this is a pretty high achieving group I should ask in here too. I just took to two LSAT tests for diagnostic. My scores were a 158/160. I am planning to take the LSAT in September and October bc I want to apply ED to a program with a deadline of November 1st. I hope to dedicate 30 hours a week. Any tips on materials I should use? Should I buy an online program? Should I get a tutor and when should I get one in the process to be cost efficient? Bare minimum score I'm applying with is a 170 because I am a splitter. Goal score is 173. i would cry my eyes out at 175+.

It's been 5 hours without Honkai Star Rail, I can’t stop shaking and I’m having severe mental breakdowns. I woke up today trying to log onto Honkai Star Rail but the game was down, I had a major panic attack but managed to calm down after a few hours. I couldn’t go to school today, I am so worried. I am nothing without Honkai Star Rail, it is my life, it is my destiny, without Honkai Star Rail, I wouldn't be able to do anything. Honkai Star Rail is the best thing ever made and I can't get rid of my addiction to it, it is the best game in existence. I can't stop trembling and crying, I am very worried. I can't reach 90 pity just to get Himeko, i cant get an early just to realize than i got Himeko's Light Cone. All of my joy has perished, my wife left along with my kid.

Greetings everyone, kinda jealous of FB right now seeing as how I can't tag everyone to see this but I am hoping that this post gets to you all well and that it is well received, understood, and leaves no one feeling abandoned or confused by this decision.
[Reddit has recently announced and decided to modify and change some policies regarding the impact of how you might like to use the platform.](https://www.reddit.com/Save3rdPartyApps/comments/13yh0jf/dont_let_reddit_kill_3rd_party_apps)
Please take a moment to let that sink in and I strongly urge you to read the link and understand that though this may or may not impact the way you enjoy Reddit directly, many of the mods, independent devs who help to create the reddit experience that you might use today, and maybe even the apps that you use (Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Narwhal, etc) to enjoy the platform are potentially at risk of being forced only reddit's app or website as the official way to use reddit - and anything that we use to make your experience better outside of those two options are officially off the table unless there is a significant change to their decision.
I urge you to read in full what is going on, both here and all over reddit, however:
TLDR:

• This subreddit will be made private (meaning you will not be able to view any of its contents) on June 12th.
• Reddit is making it impossible for third-party apps used to browse the site to exist, as some of them will have to pay upwards of $2 million per month. This means they will most likely shut down or impose monthly fees on their users.
• Any tools that mods use to help keep a subreddit on-topic and or relatively spam-free that were created outside of the official app or website will be locked out and no longer available.
• You can help. Read below to learn how.

This particular sub has an incredibly resourceful, funny, proud, entertaining, and helpful +37000 users; this is an incredible place for the offset community, as a way to enjoy and be part of something alternative to the norm in the guitar world. This isn't goodbye, we aren't shutting anything down, this is us asking you to stand with us to prove a point.
[Many subs have already joined an ever growing list who are going dark in protest of this change.](https://www.reddit.com/ModCoord/comments/1401qw5/incomplete_and_growing_list_of_participating/) We are standing with them. You may have already seen something similar posted to some of your other favorite subs, and if you have read and understood it, please help us explain to everyone why this is important that we join the list. Be respectful and helpful, we know you are and we appreciate it.
"Going dark" means the subreddit will be made private. You won't be able to view any of its contents until we reverse it.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
In Offset Mod Discussion, we have decided to go dark on June 12th. We will return it to normal on June 15th. We understand the importance of the protest, and feel it is important to stand in solidarity, but we wish to not inconvenience anyone further should there be no amicable resolution. We are fully aware that in the end it is reddit's rights to do so, but that doesn't mean that what they are doing and how it has been proposed IS the right way to do it.
What can you do?

1. Complain. Message the mods of reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
2. Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at ModCoord - but please don't pester mods you don't know by simply spamming their modmail.
3. Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
4. Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible. This includes not harassing moderators of subreddits who have chosen not to take part: no one likes a missionary, a used-car salesman, or a flame warrior.
5. It goes without saying, but I will make clear anyway, that users must understand and accept that this needs to happen and not to argue or harass our stance in supporting this protest. Reddit is for the people, and the content generated is by the people. We are those people, they need to understand that by a show of solidarity.
