If one more person tells her that she is a great mommy I am going to puke. Poor Connie is neglected more the twins. They aren't potty trained, they are speech delayed, you name it. Yes, you are always home with your kids, but you won't allow people to keep them because they will report you to cps! She said Brandon and his dad don't get along. I bet you that his whole family hates her. But, Brandons family could have a relationship with their grandbabies. They are non existent in the girls lives. But she is going to be obese like their mom if they don't get her under control now. I think Connie is the cutest one. I go in the lives and always say Where is Connie? where is Connie? Etc ..I never get an answer. I am a foster mother of 15 years. I have had all types of children. I have a sibling group now, 7, 12 and 14. The moms new husband killed their mom, their aunt, and Aunts boyfriend. Kids were at school. He stole a car and had a shoot out with cops. They shot him, he recovered and is going to trial soon. So, my point is. These children have no behaviors. They are on anxiety meds now. They are jumpy, but are respectful and are sweet to all. Now. I have had children that came from the background like Aloras kids. Neglect, filth, possibly abused, no doc appointments if sick, just general neglect. They are the hardest kids to raise! They are used to that type of life, so they don't understand structure and how s family dynamic is. We sit at tables to eat. Yes you will shower. No you can't go outside to poop! We have toilet in the house. No you can't sleep ok the floor or couch. You have a nice warm bed waiting for you with a night light. That's what her kids will be if they were taken you would see just how neglected they really are 😭😭

This is about a situation that happened 3 years ago that is still being brought up now. Hi I’m 16(m) and I’m a bisexual trans male which is extremely relevant to the story. When I was 12 back in middle school I never had a phone up until I turned 13 and I was extremely great full for it.
It wasn’t the most expensive phone that you could get hell the brand was called Azumi but I loved and cared for it. I only had it for about a week until one night my stepdad came into my room to tell me goodnight. I told him goodnight back and we started messing around a bit like play fighting.
Then I got back onto my phone reading a fifth harmony fanfic..not my best moment but you know but I wasn’t even out to them yet so I never made it known.. so he asked me what I was doing and I told him reading something online. Then he asked to see in a funny voice so I said no. Then he asked me again in which I responded no again.
Until he pounced on me trying to force the phone out of my hands. It got kinda physical and my arm was messed up from it. Whenever I want to shut or lock my door now he brings up how it’s disrespectful to him and how I should never say no unless something like that happens again. AITA for telling him no? Oh side note my mom was there as well but she was extremely sick so she couldn’t do much.

Hello! I am looking for some advice. I planted a bunch of native garden beds this year. One is in my south facing front yard.
I have planted the following in the south facing bed:
Black eyed Susans (4) Pale purple coneflowers (3) Prairie smoke (3) Prairie blazing star (1, but I have 12 more bare roots coming in the mail) New England asters (2) Monarda fistulosa (2) Blue false indigo (1) A few others
There is currently a large gap at the very back of the bed which comes right off of my house, and I don’t know what to put there! I had some Columbine and bee balm nativars there that I removed before planting my native gardens this year (was worried about hybridization). What gets tall? Is queen of the prairie a good choice? Anything else you recommend I consider?

Hello! I’ve found and read quite a few of the threads on here about chicks or hatching eggs + a broody hen, but thought I’d post my own situation in case anyone has any particular stories/tips/corrections they’d like to share. I’d really appreciate it!
I’ve had my (highly melodramatic) Penedesenca broody for about two weeks or so. Every effort to break her broodiness has failed. So, this evening, sort of on an impulse, I got 7 new chicks (between 2-5 days old, a mix of easter eggers, prairie bluebells, sapphire splash, and wyandotte; existing flock is 8 hens, for reference) and switched out her eggs for the seven babies once it got dark. It’s been about an hour or so and no trouble so far (of course, it’s nighttime, tomorrow will be the real test). Before introducing the chicks I built Lila (the broody) a 2’h x 4’w x 2’d fully enclosed and secure box out in the main (also very secure) run and transported her existing nest box and (non-fertile) eggs out there along with her grumpy self.
Anyway, though I’ve had many, many, many chickens, this is my first time attempting to brood chicks ‘au natural.’ I was wondering if anyone has any advice or whatever, particularly in regards to:
(1) Penedesencas as broodies & mamas; (2) Number of chicks, time spent being broody, etc etc; (3) Contingency plans (or not) for rejected chicks or a mean mama; (4) Timing and tactics in introducing hen-raised chicks to the rest of the flock; (5) Just general anecdotes!
I’ve historically had a lot of trouble integrating new flock members (usually pullets between 6 and 12 weeks old), which is a huge part of why letting Lila raise these appealed to me. Any tips or anything would be much appreciated! Thanks!

My review:
This was my fourth time seeing Palace live and they were great as always. The live mix this time around was somewhat disappointing though. During certain songs like Lover, Give Me The Rain, Fade, etc. the drums, cymbals, and jarring snare tone were overpowering the guitar parts which were barely audible at times. This was a bit frustrating for me since I’ve been to their shows in the past with great sound mixing, but I’m going to chalk it up to the venue (Emo’s) and it’s mixing team. Overall, another solid live performance from Palace with standout songs like Veins, Fade Into You, and Holy Smoke.
