Yesterday went to the Feng Kee BBQ house (in country hills) to pickup some bbq pork and char sue for my partners’ and I anniversary (normally we don’t eat Chinese but our friends suggested that Chinese bbq takeout with white rice is good).
Went to the location near our house to pick up. Ordered two boxes of pork and one box of Char sue which he showed me on the till to be $51. I tapped my credit card once he presented me with the machine. I went home, ate the meal, but then noticed on my credit card it had charged me $81. So I went back today to tell them the $30 difference and he said that for the three boxes was actually $81 and that he didn’t do anything wrong? When I was explaining to him that it would have been impossible to fit that amount of meat in three boxes of the white styrofoam for $81, he said something I couldn’t understand, then shouted me out the door! Needless to say I just wanted to warn everyone about the suspect surcharge and service they give! If I wanted $81 a night fancy Asian food we would have just got AYCE sushi which probably could have been cheaper!

My sister and I agreed to share our parents old house, as long as we pay equally for its utilities. It was a good deal for us because she and her husband want to raise a family and need a cheap home, and I needed someone to live while I saved up for my own apartment.
Only a few months later after moving in, I ended up losing my factory job and started putting in applications for a new job. My sister and her husband were NOT happy about it, they started enforcing unspoken rules about me living with them to the point where it feels cruel. They took all my food from the cabinets and shoved them in-between their fridge and a wall, took my fridge and filled it with their own stuff so I couldn't use it, taking any of my stuff in the house and forcing it in my room, all while telling me that I'm ruining their lives because they want to start a family without me being here. It feels disingenuous to say that to me after telling me that me living with them was not issue at all.
I ended up finding another job about a few weeks later working fast food, but money is slow and it'll take a hot second before I can pay for an apartment. While I wait to get enough money, I help around the house and will pick them up groceries whenever they need some. At first it seemed totally fine, but whenever I was short on cash or needed to go to work instead of helping with chores, they just started threatening me or making fun of me. I genuinely don't mind to lend a hand or even to buy stuff for them, but whenever they turn around and say awful stuff to me the moment I can't help them, it just feels like I'm their maid when I'm just trying to be helpful.
For a long time I believed I was just the issue, that was until I finally reached out to my friends after just having enough one day. They helped me finally see that what was happening was full on abuse and that nothing about it was normal. Well, I tried to bring it up to her, and she still just belittles me and ignores me. I don't know how to communicate with her and working closing shift in a greasy restaurant only to come home to my room being the only place I can go, starts to feel sour when it's full of stuff they barely lets me walk. I've been living with her for over a year now and I honestly can't deal with the way she treats me. What can you do in a situation like this?

I lived in my one room mansion for almost a year now, although I was on a vacation for 5 of those months.
last month I noticed I wasnt getting my rent bills anymore. then I got 3 at the same time from the previous months. Not an issue because I can just transfer the money without the bill itself but rather peculiar. Like someone had been holding back my mail.
Today I go to retrieve my bicycle and I notice the tire is flat and the cap is removed. Not a big issue, takes like 2 minutes to fill it with air again but clearly, that is targeted harassment. my neighbours bicycle wasnt messed with and its closer to the street. This is just a small thing but I assume this will become bigger because I have no idea what I am "doing wrong" in someones eyes so they will probably do more things.
I have no idea why someone would harass me. I dont bother anyone AFAIK, I make no noise/music, I take out the trash at the correct times, I dont litter.
I have no enemies either afaik. Besides my neighbours I dont interact with anyone in the street.
I have 3 neighbours, 2 japanese women my age and a korean one. I run into one japanese lady and the korean one occasionally and theyre polite and try to make small talk, especially the korean one really wants to chat, but her accent is very thick and my japanese isnt great so I only understand about 10% of what she says. I just have an excuse to leave everytime she tries to make small talk. Recently she just says hi and doesnt try to talk anymore. The other neighbour leaves for months at a time (I can tell because her mailbox will be overflowing). I ran into her once and she didnt say anything.

I shopped there twice but they seemed frustrated/offended by my lackluster Japanese skills so I never went there again. They werent rude but the disapproval was clear. Occasionally they give me slightly mean stares. Like not full on mad/angry but they look slightly displeased/disapproving when they see me come home. They are the only people who seem to clearly express some sort of dislike towards me.

I dont go there but the girls who face the street always stare at me when I leave or come home. Not in a rude manner, their expression is neutral or happy. I unfortunately dont like the food they serve so I never go there. The guys who own the store dont look at me at all, but I mention this because I know some guys get jealous if you get any sort of female attention.
Personally I think its either the Korean neighbor or the obasans, but you never know with these type of things.
Should I put up a sign that says something like "if there's a problem leave a note so we can find a solution"
I REALLY dont want any problems, but if they dont even drop a note of what bothers them I have no idea on how to solve this.

Today was good in general. The morning went as usual with my 10-minute meditation, and then I rode my bike to the metro station and went to college. However, I arrived late to class due to a medical emergency that caused the metro to stop, so I had to take a bus instead.
The class itself was okay, nothing special. Since it's the last two weeks of college, everyone is more focused on their internships. After class, a friend of mine invited me to have lunch at a Mexican restaurant, and without hesitation, I said yes. It's a big step for me because in the past, I would have come up with an excuse to avoid going. It shows the progress I've made.
Since my class ended at 11, I went to my friend's house to wait until 2. We just chilled and talked for a couple of hours. I made a conscious effort to avoid using my phone and to be fully present in the conversation. It made a real difference, and the conversation was really enjoyable. My friend also invited me to a disco next weekend with some of his other friends, and despite feeling scared about my lack of dancing skills and cool clothes, I said yes. It will be a good challenge for me to socialize and put into practice the communication skills I've been learning.
Anyway, we then went to the restaurant and had a pretty good meal. After that, I returned home and spent a couple of hours finishing a homework assignment. Unfortunately, I wasted a couple more hours mindlessly scrolling through social media, which made me mad at myself. It was already evening, and I had promised myself that I would go for a run. I thought about smoking as a way to feel better, but then I realized that the only way to truly feel better was to put on some clothes and go running, just as I had said I would.
So, that's exactly what I did. I went for a late-night run, and it felt great. I haven't gone running since 2021, but surprisingly, I performed better than I expected. Maybe it's because I've been using the bike more often and going out more. After running, I set myself a challenge to be able to run the whole park at a slow speed by next Tuesday. Today, I was able to run one-third of the park, which is pretty decent because I didn't want to push myself too hard , I just aim to build the habit.
So, that was my day. I consider it a W because I challenged myself to socialize and didn't let my emotions or mistakes dictate my actions. Now, I'll read for a couple of minutes and then go to sleep. I'm tired! Haha.

Hi all…we’re visiting San Diego in November this year from Australia. Our son is studying at SDSU and we have approx. 2 weeks planned, including the Thanksgiving weekend. We’re flying in and out of LAX and intend to split our time between Los Angeles, San Diego and somewhere to be determined for Thanksgiving (5 day break).
Looking to stay on the same side of town as the College Area. Are there any areas we should avoid? We will likely have a car but would like to be within a 15 mins drive of SDSU if possible.
Secondly, what are your “must do’s” while we’re there? We’re up for anything, although not big on theme park rides. We’ll be doing Disneyland because it’s Disneyland but otherwise, open to anything and everything.

I know someone in my family tree that engaged a self-proclaimed fengshui master who not only took her money but ended up harassing her. She was complaining to me a few days ago that she had to delete her Reddit account because she was being spammed by his messages. He used different accounts to threatened her. Wa lao how many times must I hear this story, seriously the guy must stop it. So I am posting on behalf of her.
Think more people should read this and learn her lesson. If he harassed me here, I will also report him to the police. So here goes the story:
Hello guys, I hope if you see this post you will stop scrolling and take a moment to read the worst mistake of my life.
This is a traumatising story of how I paid for a fengshui house hunting by a fengshui/bazi guy who ended up threatening and harassing me.
I was looking for a fengshui “master” last year and found one that was recommended by a few media outlets. Browsing through his website, it was stated that he had graduated from the University Scholars’ Programme (USP). Hence, I thought that he was my senior because I was from the University Scholars’ Programme too. Given these supporting credentials, I decided to engage him for a fengshui house-hunting service that cost $5,888.
In hindsight, this turned out to be the worst mistake of my life, and I wish I had vetted his character and background properly before choosing to engage him. I later realised that he did not graduate from the University Scholar Programme but had lied about graduating from there on his blog. I also found out that he used to participate in a MLM scamming business before moving on to fengshui/bazi.
During his period of engagement, the fengshui guy realised that I had more knowledge than him and blatantly used me to help him interpret his client’s charts, as well as his charts that concerned his personal matters. I gullibly helped him to read his charts for a period of time before realising that it is strange that a “master” with more than 10 years of ‘experience’ is seeking my advice. Btw I have only a year worth of learning experience.
Finally I woke up and refused to feed him my knowledge but he still pestered me for it. Upon failing to obtain any bargaining chips for blackmail, he threatened to harm my family and posted lies about me and my family online.
Needless to say, resorting to using family members as leverage to achieve his goals is nothing short of despicable. I feel very sorry to my family members and would like to apologise for dragging them into this matter. Seeing as I was not capitulating to his threats of aggression, he abandoned his professionalism, and refused to complete the rest of the fengshui service which I had already paid upfront in full. In addition, he told me not to ever contact him again, and subsequently blocked me on messaging applications.
Since no compensation was provided for the failure to complete the agreed-upon services, I decided to make a police report. He only made a restitution of $488 after the police report was filed, and threatened me not to blow the matter up. He was afraid that if I were to expose him, he would lose his career and become unable to support his wife who relies on his $50,000+ income from fengshui/bazi business.
Even till today, his fengshui/bazi business is still not shut down yet and people still believe in him. I have made a police report and I hope that more people can report him so that the police will clamp down on his activities. I wish I could tell people not to believe in fengshui/bazi so that people like him would not be given a chance to profit $50,000 and more a month. They should find proper jobs instead of selling hocus pocus to the general public.
I have reported him to be police but investigations are still ongoing. He also threatened to sue me and the reporters for defamation. Yet what I have written is the nothing but the truth. The main reason why I am not exposing his name is because I do not want anyone to end up threatening or harassing him like what he did to me.
My purpose is not to name and shame him, rather, I am posting my story because I want people to see what a ENORMOUS price I paid for a voodoo service that cannot be backed by science.
THUS I AM BESEECHING ALL OF YOU WHO COME ACROSS MY POST TO LEARN FROM MY LESSON. Please don’t anyhow give your money away to fengshui/bazi guy and also if you able to get a house, please just be thankful ok? No need to pay thousands to see whatever fengshui. The fact that you have a house in this current booming property market means that you are tremendously blessed.

I’m also not exaggerating when I say everyone knows this, i absolutely love McDonald’s iced coffee lol I always have one
He does the same thing with food, he will always come by with dinner but it seems like he doesn’t even know what I like, we eat at this one restaurant all the time near his house and I order the exact same meal every time yet when he brings takeout from there it’s always something random or even something I really dislike. I hate pasta in any form, which I’ve told him and he still brought it too me.
These are just two examples but on my 23rd birthday last week he wanted to make me breakfast in bed and wouldn’t tell me what, and brought me pancakes. He should know I hate them because when he asks for them in the morning I make myself something different, so I finally told him I felt like he didn’t know I single thing about me. I told him I know everything about him I could literally tell you his favourite anything, and I did. He said I was being over dramatic and I should be grateful because he’s just trying to do nice things for me. Then I asked him to tell me anything he knows about me and he ignored me. But I don’t understand the point of bringing me things I don’t like..
Even for my birthday present he got me all purple jewelry because “it was my favourite colour” it was beautiful but I literally drive a pink car and wear all pink.. that one you don’t even need to memorize.
It’s almost like he’s doing it on purpose or something but I just don’t understand what he would get out of it!!
He’s a nice guy, and I understand this isn’t huge but it’s making me crazy. I feel so bad for him when he brings it, it’s just frustrating at the same time because it would be the same amount of effort/price to bring me something I’ll actually enjoy. He gets upset if I’m not super excited but he’s bringing me stuff I’ve told him I don’t like!! When I surprise him with coffee I know what shop he likes and his exact order, and when I cook or pick up food I know literally everything he likes and doesn’t like.
