my ex broke up with me because we both needed some healing to do, we love each other very much but it was getting toxic and painful. we broke up about 2 months ago now... but only no contact for 3 weeks. this past week she unblocked me off of tiktok and has been watching my account multiple times a day, for about 4 days ... (i can see with the feature on my account). and then blocked me again. not to mention her friend was watching too.
at first, i found it a little funny, because i knew she couldnt last that long. then i got annoyed with how often i saw her name under "who looked at your profile". i wanted to reiterate her own boundaries, to respect my space personally and online. but now i'm finding myself wanting to reach out and offer to talk about things if that's what she'd also like to do.

I’m fully aware that this is a stupid situation but here we are. Ever since I attempted to make contact with my “totem”, spirit animal my house has been invaded by spiders, like the biggest spiders you have ever seen and I keep accidentally picking them up. I’m terrified of spiders, which is probably what I’m supposed to being working through but I am having a hard time. I had to take my bug killing workings off right before this happened and I’m not aloud to put them back on and physical solutions are not having any affect. I’m getting mildly amused attitude from my normal sources of assistance who are basically telling me to get over it. Anyone have any ideas to help the sitcom situation?

So clearly an education question here… is there a way I can automate to send out emails to students and parents when an assignment on teams is not complete by the due date? (I’m new to power automate, btw) just wanting to get something ready for next year so I don’t have to track down myself who hasn’t done what… I teach A/V production and I have 100 projects going on and am hoping this saves me considerable time.

I am currently a university student, and I've always had this problem throughout my adolescence to present early adulthood (23). Whether it be friendships or romantic relationships, I have specific periods of time where I do not recognize who I am. It feels like someone or something controls an on/off switch that makes me so hostile and unpredictable. It begins with overwhelming emotions at first then slowly explodes into many different actions that do not seem like something I would do. When I was a child, I had the tendency to blow up, turn all red and wreak havoc on everything and everyone, I sometimes do think some of the unresolved anger issues exist in my behaviors with friends and partners but that still does not explain the suddenness of it all.
Each time I've done something irreparable toward a friend or a partner, all I would feel is shame and guilt, enough to not be able to look them in the eyes or face. Even though it might seem irreparable to me, it is quite forgivable to them. The little details, the broken plans I've setten up, and even a close person's happiness because of others, seem to trigger these negative flow of events and behaviors. I subconsciously sabotage my relationships as if im not deserving of such closeness, which my disorganized attachment might have something to do with. I am just so tired of easily letting go of people because I want a clean start and constantly taking things too seriously when I am usually not this person. Continuously starting nonsensical fights and being dramatic over the littlest of things, I try to fix and repair those parts of me but each time that switch flips, I am back to here. When I say things about myself I am sure they are true because of numerous past experiences with different people, I would never talk about a personality trait I haven't been sure of. I am empathetic, kind, and always the person to be available for anything, so when I say all these disappear, when the chaos starts, I have no control whatsoever.
I go too far to a point where no one will tolerate it or ever understand how this is not in my control. I ruin special relationships with people who've left a permanent hole in me I will never find again. At this point in my life, I just think I am wired this way.

That title might sound terrible, but I (36f) have what I thought was a great friend (41f) for years. I met her and her bf 7 years ago and got close with her. I was single when I met them, I am now married with a baby.
When her and I first started chatting, I was her bartender. She was always "nice enough." But u could tell she didn't totally like me, which was fine, I know Women get pitted against each other for no reason sometimes, but I promise I'm no threat to a taken man, and never was. She eventually lightened up with me and she became the only girl I talked with and hung out with on a regular basis for years. When we talk on the phone, her bf will chime in and all has been great.
Jump to this week. The bf calls me at like 845pm a few days ago. "Gf is in the hospital. Would you be able to visit her?" I tell him I'll call her the next day (our hospitals don't allow phone calls after 9pm.) We talked for about 15 min and that was it. He filled me in - she's an alcoholic and has liver failure.... for the third time. If she quits drinking now, she might get to live another year. No possibility of a Transplant because she's a repeat offender. Think fuckin frank Gallagher. Not to sound ill compassionate, but it's the reality of her situation.
I text her the next morning (Saturday). I said "I love you, and call me if you are up for it." 5 hours go by, so I called her. She sent me to vm. She eventually calls me. She started talking to me as if I knew everything going on, so I figured the bf said he and I spoke. When I said he called me the night before she got quiet, and in a very skeptical tone, asked, "wait - he called you?" And I said yes, he wanted to let me know what was happening and asked me to visit you if you wanted me to. She declared she LOVED being alone right now and was so happy no one had seen her, blah blah. Then abruptly hung up. To clarify: the bf has NEVER cheated on her, she has never cheated on him, together for 9 years, and I met them together as their bartender. He and I never reach out to each other unless it's an emergency.
My heart is screaming at me about how scared she is and I know she has isolated herself so much over the past couple years - to be blunt - not many people give a shit she's walking through this right now. Yes, she did it to herself. But to me, she is still a person who deserves compassion and love, even if at a distance.
Do I do anything? Do I act like she didn't react that way? Do I say oh well and watch her sink? I'm confused and selfishly hurt, but am capable of acting like nothing happened.

My brother (M11) has special educational needs, and also has had multiple teachers/caregivers question if he has a "mild form" of autism, but all the tests he has been given said that he is perfectly normal for his age range.He has also had a problem with going to the toilet up until the age of 9, which as far as i know luckily stopped.Besides these he is overall a really talkative, cheerful and funny little guy, who really likes to show his love by making little gifts for us, he is an absolutely amazing human being in my opinion. The problem starts with his school and his classmates.He goes to the same school (even has the same teachers) as I(F19) did, so some of his teachers keep comparing him to me.He is really different than me, i was always the top of my class, teachers loved me and I was quite popular.Altough, even with his learning disabilities he has really good grades (not from u.s, here the grades are from 1-5 with 1 being the worst and 5 the best grade), he has all 4's, most of my old teachers keep comparing him to me, an expecting the same grades,prizes and love for languages&science as I had, which is obviously not possible. Luckily he is amazing at math&sports, and he also likes literature, so there are some teachers who like him for who he is and try to improve him in every way they can. The real problem are his classmates.One of them, lets call them B (M11), has been his best friend since they were born, our families have been friends long before i was even born. B's family started distancing from us and our family's friend group about 3 years ago (we still don't know why), and their friendship started to deteriorate.My brother always says that B is his best friend, but B never really plays with him, he isn't invited anywhere.Most of the boys in his class make a big friend group, and altough he says he plays with them and likes to hang around, there has been some incidents where i really think they just keep him around to laugh on/take advantage of sometimes.There has been also multiple times we have to tell him that my parents don't buy the food/snacks for the other kids, because he kept giving them to his classmates because some of them said they will only play with him if he gives them a snack, and he complied. He is really keen on sports, especially football (really football-oriented country) , and he wanted to try and play that as an extracurricular activity.One of his classmates, F (M11) goes there to football also, and he said to my brother "If we meet on football class, don't you dare recognise me, because i won't recognise you.Don't even talk to me or say hi."It came to me as a suprise, because as far as i know they are really good friends, come home together every day and even sit together in class.I also know that none of them invite him anywhere, not even to birthday parties, even though most of the boy classmates are invites everywhere. I know my brother had problems in the past, he got into fights, but he has really been on his good side for the last 2 years and tries to be as good as he can. He has his first football practice right now, and I can't help but wonder what will happen.I became a bit overbearing of him in the past year, because i kept on noticing that his so called friends really don't behave like friends most of the time.The problem is that he isn't noticing it, and when i try to hint on it, he gets nervous and angry and doesn't want to talk to me about it, he shuts down.Then it takes him at least a week to tell me things again. I know its hard for him, because i have been in a similar situation and it was the worst year of my life, and i don't want him to experience that.What can I do to help him in any way, so if even when his classmates are rude to him or do something that hurts him,he finds comfort in doing things with me?How can I talk to him about the situation?I just can't keep it to myself anymore, it hurts my heart that he doesn't notice his classmates don't really like him and take advantage of him.

One of the ads that pops up on my Facebook feed pretty regularly is for a tattoo numbing cream. I can guarantee that there will be a ton of comments under each post along the lines of:

I didn't need any numbing for my tattoo.
The pain is part of the process.
If you can't handle the pain, don't get a tattoo.
We didn't use any of that stuff in my day.
The pain is the best part!

I could make a bingo card based on the responses and I would get a full house everytime.
It might be a good time to say that I am heavily tattooed and I've never used numbing cream myself, but you can bet that there were times that I wish I had! Who wants to sit through unecessary pain? There just seems to be this group of people that think that by getting tattooed, they're hard, or they've earnt a badge of honor. It really winds me up everytime I read them.
Are woman not allowed to have kids unless they can do it naturally and without pain relief? Should people who undergo elective cosmetic surgery not be allowed pain meds after? Hell, should they even really be put under?
I just don't get it. If you want to use it, and your artist is happy with you using, where's the problem? Everyone has different pain thresholds, and different areas hurt different amounts for different people (I remember when I was getting my foot done, and it wasn't that bed, but some dude getting his neck done in the same room shuddered and said 'rather you than me'). I guess it's just the whole gatekeeping of the thing that really just boils my piss!

I am considering the Pilot Custom 823 and had two "practical" questions:

Does it dry out? I take months to use up the ink in an TWSBI Eco so its seal is invaluable to me.
- I've heard the 743 may be a better fit for me since I can change up inks, but it feels odd to me that the 823 and 743 are the same price now (in the US), seeing how the 823 has more hardware. I may keep a vial so I can fill it with much less ink in one shot.
Does it tend to burp with temperature fluctuations when the ink is low like a TWSBI?
Subjective question: Anybody who just doesn't like the 823 and prefer another similarly classy pen? This is a graduation gift from family who gave me the option to choose my grail pen.

So, a friend of mine is having a procedure done in a few weeks and she has told me that she is COVID testing a week before he surgery and then 3 days before the surgery and then the day of the surgery and documenting all her negative test results. She said she will then test 3 days after her surgery and again if she feels symptoms.
She told me she is doing this so that if she does get COVID from the absolute hotbed that is hospitals/surgical centers, she has some evidence that it happened while at the hospital and some recourse if she ends up with Long COVID. Obviously, there is no way to know if any of this information would be accepted by insurance companies/the government down the road if she ever needed to claim disability, but she said it was worth it to at least try and that its better to have something rather than nothing.
I know at-home tests are sketchy, at best, but for most of the US, that's all we have now. So, I just wanted to share this with everyone who may be going in for a procedure or something in a hospital where masking isn't required.
She also told me to have, in writing, that she wants her N95 put on her face after the surgery and once the oxygen mask is removed. She said she's printed out multiple copies of her requests so that she can hand them to nurses/doctors/records staff at any point.
She is super careful because she had some medical malpractice happen years ago and she lost a court case due to "lack of evidence", so she constantly reminds me of the horrors that can happen if you're not covering your a** at all times...especially now.

So long story cut short; a friend who I‘ve known since childhood kissed me yesterday, and I don’t know what to do. We had went bowling with our mutual friends and later went to a local bar. He had a few too many drinks, but me being a non-drinker (regrettably) I was sober. I let him stay at my place since he was too drunk to drive home, but as we was talking on my sofa he started putting his hand through my hair and calling me beautiful and confessing his feelings (I don’t know if it was just the drink talking).
When he kissed me my initial reaction was to go with it, but then he started getting hands on so I stopped it there. In the morning he had left quick without even saying bye which was unlike him, and other than a few texts he hasn’t spoken to me since. I don’t know what I’m suppose to do. I know it’s stupid, but I actually felt a sense of connection when we kissed and I feel like I ruined it. I didn’t know where it would go, and I’ve never been intimate with a guy (this is due to bottom dysphoria). Did I mess things up? After secondary school we lost contact for a lengthy period of time (we both was super busy with universities which was far away from one and other), in that time I transitioned and we later rekindled our friendship through a mutual friend. We was best friends growing up, and lately our relationship has been just as amazing (If not more) than it was back then.

I’ve had my rook piercing for 7 months now, with a titanium curved barbell, and it’s been healing a dream. I’m looking ahead a few more months to when I change the jewelry out. I love the look of a small hoop, but it occured to me that a hoop could make it hard to sleep on that side since the hoop protrudes while the barbell is tucked in. I’ve been able to sleep on my rook no problem for a long time now, and wouldn’t want to give that up as I’m a side sleeper who tosses and turns.
I’m curious to hear from those with a hoop, is it an issue for sleep?

Okay. Heya all. I need some help. I am looking to start college very soon. But I need help navigating and I'm not sure where to go so I figured, since reddit knows everything, I'd start here.
For context on me. I'm 20 years old. I've been working at Starbucks for over 2 years. I live on my own with my roommate. I'm transgender. I didn't go to high school, instead I got a Hi-Set (Tennessee's version of a GED) at 17.
So. I want to go to college for a major that ASU doesn't have. Mechatronics. But the school that I live near, MTSU, does. The original idea was to get as many credits as I can from ASU, then transfer to MTSU to finish my degree. The catch is that according to this one MTSU call center lady, I can only transfer 21 credits out of the 120 to graduate. So there are 21 out of the way, the other 99 being the issue.
I am also a Tennessee resident. So I am eligible for the Tennessee promise program.
So basically my questions, can I capitalize on the Tennessee promise, AND free ASU for 21 credits. Or will going to ASU make me ineligible for the Tennessee promise program.
I am also not sure if I can go to MTSU for the Tennessee promise program, or if I will have to attend a state community college for those two years free.
Basically, I have no idea what I'm doing, who I'm asking, who to talk to, or what to do next.
I don't want to go in debt for college. I want to avoid that as much as possible. I know I will have to for at least the last year or so of school absolute minimum, but that's a lot less than if I were to have to pay for the entire 4 year degree.

Hi all
I’d appreciate some HR insight into what you think about the following situation.
Two months ago my role slightly changed. It’s due to one of the managers not being happy with one of their team members and I was asked to help them out. I used to have a really good relationship with this team member the manager wasn’t happy with, however due to her manager asking me to do some work instead of her caused some issues in our working relationship. She started avoiding me, acting weird. I also heard back she has been badmouthing me behind my back to other employees. It lead to her being completely unhelpful in emails when I asked for information which was noticed by management as well.
Now, it was brought to my attention that she created a social media profile to mock my social media profile (it’s a profile I have for my office plant. So not my personal profile) and the HR manager seems to be following this mock profile too.
It kind of upsets me as the whole profile is a clear dig at me. I mentioned it to my direct line manager saying she clearly has an issue with me for whatever reason and I also mentioned that I don’t appreciate the HR manager who is meant to be an advocate of mental health is encouraging this kind of behaviour. I know from experience that they will get away with it.
I’m not sure what I should do or how I should approach it or what should I say. I’m not sure I could call this whole thing bullying?

I’m very sensitive in a way that none of my neurotypical peers understand. I think people think of my sensitivity as me being easily offended but that’s rarely the case for me..
I cry very very often, at this point in my life I’ve gotten very good at having controlled outbursts in bathrooms and other private spaces and I actually think most people don’t realize how often I cry. I also used to have a really bad habit of hitting myself really hard during these episodes but now I’ve gotten better with using my breathing exercises and stuff instead.
For me, crying feels so good and necessary when I’m overwhelmed or confused or anxious or frustrated, not because of me feeling offended, I actually rarely even recognize when someone is intentionally being mean.
I work full time on top of being a student, because I’m financially independent, and I’m not able to have the space and quiet I need to recharge. I feel very grateful for my academic opportunities, but all of this has been so hard on me. I feel emotionally exhausted most of the time and I’m constantly surrounded by people who I feel speak a different “language” than me (I.e. they are not autistic).. I feel like I have to work twice as hard to make the same progress as my peers when it comes to professional development.
But the moments I take to let myself cry and breathe make this all possible. But I hate how I need to do it.
The other day, a coworker made a comment that was meant to be a joke but also imply something I needed to do differently… these types of comments are very triggering to me because I feel so alienated and confused. Not only do I have to mask really hard to make sure I seem to take the joke well and don’t seem unnecessarily upset….but I also have to communicate that I understand their implications and will apply it to my work in the future.
I went to the bathroom and cried and cried and cried.
I wish this kind of stuff didn’t affect me, I wish I felt strong and unbothered by these things.
I have so much admiration for people who can be strong and handle these things with ease.
For people close in my life, I can’t help but think that I must seem so weak and incapable and childish.
I also recently learned about the concept of using crying and hypersensitivity as a manipulation tactic.. as well as the term “victim complex”…. I really hope the people close in my life don’t see me this way.

A couple years ago I was working at youth sports club as a coach and had parent of a player of mine accuse and report me to our governing body for verbal abuse towards their child. The governing body of our program found the complaint valid and banned me from participation. I don't agree with the decision or the representation of the events which were brought forth. However, I have no recourse to challenge the governing body and have moved on. This situation comes no where close to a criminal matter and has never been pursued. Now this parent is continuing to search for my current location and employer (which is still in the youth development field) and pass on the decision made by the governing body to my employers. I am no where near the state and not participating in any many with the organization or activity. I am unsure of what to do about this issue, as it is harming my career, but I don't know what category this may fall under if any to where I would have any recourse. Any insight or advice would be great. I am not in the state and am unsure if that affects the situation. Do I have any options to respond to this? Is this a legal issue that I can put a stop to?
