Now, this may just be me, and data isn't the plural of anecdote, but I want to share just in case. A few months back I started taking Ozempic, and I've noticed it's not great with edibles. My highs aren't as strong and take a lot longer to kick in. It was okay at the .25mg dose, and even up to 1mg. At 2mg, however, the edibles are barely effective. Case in point, it took me nearly four hours to feel anything Friday night, and it was my regular dose of weed on an "empty" stomach.
But there's the rub... Due to how the drug works, it makes sense that an edible wouldn't work as well. The method of action is to slow stomach emptying so you stay "full" longer and eat less.

Hi all,
I work for a company that has been WFH since the pandemic and has recently implemented a back to office mandate two times a week. This is a little concerning to me as I have some medical issues that will make working in the ofice really challenging and a bad experience for me, also simultaneously putting the work that I'm doing at risk.
I've requested medical accomodation and am waiting to be assigned a case worker. For context, I get severe migraines and am over-stimulated easily. Whenever I spend a day at the office, I have a bad migraine at least on the way back and usually have to take some time to recover. I have also had breakdowns on the public transport while commuting during rush hour, so I typically come in a little later (10 am) and either leave around 3pm or wait until 6pm to go home, depending on how bad my headache is at the end of the day.
I have told my manager about these issues and I have expressed that I'm happy to work with the company in figuring out something that works for all of us. I see benefit in coming into the office semi-regularly, but don't want to be putting my health and the rest of my life and time outside of work at risk. My manager said that I should be careful about the way I phrase this as he doesn't want my coworkers to think I'm not coming in when I don't feel like it and that my medical accomodation won't be taken seriously. It seems like he recommends that I don't come in to office at all, while I feel like that may negatively impact my standing on the team. He won't outwardly say this and he has given me advice before that put me in a tight spot.

I have all the peripherals I need already, I'm working with two fairly middle of the line monitors, nothing curved or fancy just standard 1080p 60hz. As far as preferences: Function over form, I don't really care if the case has siqqq RGBs or anything, I'd prefer an Nvidia card as that's what I've had before, but if the price/performance gap is that big I'd be open to Radeon, I've just heard that Nvidia cards tend to be better for streaming bc of NVENC. Now this confuses me for numerous reasons. I get indeed notifications from the app & email if anything matches my background well last night i got one. It was MY JOB it says it was posted 3 days ago its the company i work for and we only have one in our city so its not like its the same company different location. To make matters worse its my job position/ title but the confusion comes in when the details of my job come into play my job has very little work to be done to begin with no exaggeration i have to find something to do when there. And the majority of my job involves sitting and monitoring something on top of that i had this job for about 2 years & i was the only person needed for the job these last 2 years & if I’m being honest if they legally didnt need someone watching the area im sure they wouldn’t have anyone hired for the position so it confuses me their hiring someone else. To top it off it was posted the day i didnt go in to work BUT i have been told since day 1 if it rains or if theres any bad weather conditions to not come in because in situations like that my job means nothing considering they cant open the area to the public which is why i didnt go in we had a tropical storm the whole weekend. So i dont see why that would push them to post my job when i was following directions the same as ive been doing for the last 2 years now i do know some days it look bad and rain at my house but it dont rain in the area near work until later but from my understanding it was.

So about 3-4 years ago my wife and I had a huge, near relationship ending, fight. It was mostly about how she feels I don’t care about her. I get busy during the day and I forget to text her for hours at a time, and when I do it’s the normal “how’s your day going” stuff.
So to fix this I made a list of 31 prompts or activities in my notes ranging from a simple “I love you and can’t wait to see you” to getting flowers or planning a picnic at the park to surprise her with. I set a reminder in my phone to go off every two days and I will use the prompt that matches the day of the month so it feels random and not like I’m repeating the same stuff. If I think of something new I’ll add it to the sub list and swap them around every few months.
This has worked out pretty well. It’s not that I don’t mean these things, but I just need a reminder to pull me out of work mode for a few minutes to check in on her without having to resort to the same boring and generic texts.
Fast forward to this weekend. I was doing some car maintenance, and I also have important information about the cars and a maintenance log in my notes as well, and while I was under the car i asked my wife to look at the notes and check the torque spec for a drain bolt. Naturally, she sees a note called “spontaneity prompts” and is curious so she opens that and sees a laundry list of romanticisms. She puts it together probably recognizing some of the things I’ve said to her that I’ve been using this to talk to her during the day.
She asks about it and I say I reference it from time to time when I want to do something nice/random to surprise her or when I feel like saying something non-generic over text. She says I shouldn’t need a list of things to talk to her about and suspects I just pulled a list of ideas off the internet, even thought I made this list on my own.

A lovely week has begun! Let's carry on without doing cocaine!

Thought I would do a trip report for once! I traveled to NoCal area from May 7th to May 15th. I live in America (Pittsburgh) and have not been to the West Coast other than when I was a preteen, so I decided it was time to go explore. I am 26F for context.
May 6th - Flew into JFK, my flight was delayed on the tarmac in Pit, and I only had a 1.5 hour layover. I managed to make my second flight as the doors were closing. PHEWF. Landed in SF around 12:30. I had left my apartment at 2:30 AM EST so I already had been traveling for 12 hours at that point LOL. I then picked up my rental car, drove another 4 hours towards Yosemite. Stopped along the way and did some hikes and site seeing. Got to my airbnb, got dinner and just had a campfire that night. My airbnb was in the Sierra National Forest. It was just beautiful there!
Day 2 : Spent time exploring local hikes in the area. I was near Oakhurst/North Forks. Went to Bass Lake. Went back to my airbnb (which was a cute AF airstream camper) and grilled for dinner and read a book. Very relaxing day.
Day 2 : Went to San Joaquin recreation area and did a hike there. Saw so many wildflowers... like 20 different types. And so many cows. Very little people on the trails, it was beautiful! The river was raging.
Day 3: Yosemite day! It was about a 1 hour drive to the gate, then another hour drive to the Valley. Left around 6am, was at the Valley by 9 AM (stopping and taking my time getting there once again LOL). Got some coffee at the cafe, and then set off for hiking. I did the lower Yosemite Falls trail and the upper Yosemite falls trail. Was a super steep hike, there was still snow on the trail! Yosemite was just gorgeous. I seemingly got lucky as well, because the park was closed the week before, and the weather was calling for it to be 30 degrees, but it was 50. The park was not crowded AT ALL when I was there.
Day 4 : Another travel day! Hit up a few wineries on my drive back towards SF and got to Pacifica around 5ish? Got dinner at the beach taco bell (had to, it is so iconic) and watched the sunset (glad I did, it was the only sunset that wasn't foggy!!!)
Day 5: Decided to roadtrip down to Big Sur and stop along the way! Stopped in Half Moon Bay, did some walking and shopping, stopped along the coast multiple times to site see, hung out near Bixby Bridge for a bit, turned around and met up with an old friend in Santa Cruz and had dinner on the beach and watched the sunset with her!
Day 6 : Tried to go see the Golden Gate Bridge at Bakers Beach but it was foggy af, so I just walked on the beach and people watched for like 45 mins, then took off towards Muir Woods. I stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge view as it was not foggy across the bridge, and got to see it! Then I drove up to Muir Woods to see the redwoods! Hiked around for a bit, but my knee was bothering me a bit that day, so I didn't do any long hikes. More just sketched and took pictures on my polaroid.
Day 7: Time to go into SF Proper. I parked at a BART Station, took the BART in, got brunch at a super cute place near the BART stop, and used MUNI for the rest of the day. I went to DeYoung Museum after, which was amazing. Loved both of their special exhibits. There was a public concert going on, so I hung out there for a bit and watched. Then I went to the Japanese Tea Gardens. Very cute in there. Lots of blooming flowers and plants. After, walked through Golden Gate park to Haigh-Ashbury and did some windowshopping at vintage stores, and came across a local artist market. Went and saw the Painted ladies. Took a bus to dinner, and headed out after that as it was 7pm and I wanted to get back to my car before dark!
Day 8: Travel day! My flight wasn't until noon, so I hung out on the beach in the morning and watched the surfers. Traveled home, no delayed flights. Got in around 1/2am to Pittsburgh.
Overall, it was a great trip! I was very impressed by California, it was just beautiful. I never felt unsafe, as many people warned me that SF was "gross, unsafe, dirty". I didn't share those sentiments at all. It is upsetting to see poverty and income discrepancy, for sure, but I did not have any negative experiences regarding that. It was cold, but I was expecting the weather. I honestly overpacked warm cloths, as Yosemite was calling for 30ish weather, but it ended up being 50!
Very happy I chose this area as my first Cali experience!

My friend (22F) and I (23F) have been friends for nearly two years now, pretty much from the moment I moved to the city. We met each other through a shared friend group, of which there were 4, and we were all pretty close.
One of the friends ended up moving away ( we're still very close), and due to some issues we're no longer friends with the fourth one. She's going to be moving away for a job soon, and we've both been sad about not being in the same city.
The reason I'm making this post it because I'm confused about the dynamics about our relationship. We're both interested in women, but I'm pretty sure I don't have feelings for her, since for me, sexual attraction is a big part of liking someone and I've never thought about her like that ( she's also ace). The main reason I started thinking about this is that our third friend recently started dating her best friend and she had had no idea that they were going on dates all this time or that her now girlfriend liked her even when they did romantic things together or hung out all the time.
We were teasing her, and I realised a lot of my own interactions could be perceived the same way? We spend a lot of time together, she's pretty much the only person i see IRL ( friends moved away, new job, etc but still), we hang out all the time, I've spent multiple nights at her place, have a brush there, she's always bringing me food/drinks if I'm feeling low or sick, when I was grieving in the past, I spent multiple nights there, not really doing anything but just spending time.
She constantly calls me pretty and a few days ago in response to a joke said that she's always looking at me. I don't think i like her but I'm wondering if I'm missing something because I tend to be oblivious sometimes (had a best friend in the past who had feelings for me but I had no idea until she told me recently).
Is there something more or is it just a really close friendship? I've never had a friendship like this but I also used to live with family before I moved here so it was difficult to spend time like this even though I had/have really close other friends.

So I am just hopping back into the htpc scene and was wondering what everyone is using as a remote these days?
In the past I've used an xbox 360 controller with the usb wireless receiver, a Mele air mouse, various smartphone / tablet apps, and even direct IR input to the mobo on an old XBMC / Linux build I had. Considering it's been nearly a decade I'm sure there is a newer better way.
To be honest I would love to use my tv's remote via CEC but looking into that seems there's really only one option with very limited support. If you can, just chime in and let me know what you use to control your htpc. Thanks!
