Synopsis

In August 1983, Taichiro "Nini" Oyama, the sole survivor of a space station's destruction, arrives in the countryside town of Ashihara Nakatsu. Here, he expects to lead a peaceful life with his relatives and the other townspeople. The locals say there is nothing here, but that could not be further from the truth. The mountains, the sea, the old town, school friends, Earthling relatives, gravity -- all are new to him, as he has lived all his life up to now in space. 2023.06.01 07:03 JustPassinhThrou13 Just started with Joyous. Benefits of staying with them vs switching to Taconic?

I just started with Joyous about 2 weeks ago, and I'm working up through the dosing, currently at 75 mg per day. And I'm just not getting anything recognizable out of it. I'm thinking this is due to the low daily dosage, which Joyous seems to tout as a benefit for reasons that I have yet to understand.
I'm considering starting with Taconic, though not with Pruett himself, as it doesn't look like he has any availability for starting new patients himself, and only a very limited amount for the half-hour monthly medication checks.
So here's my question: what is the benefit of being with Taconic and actually following the schedule that they recommended, vs staying with Joyous and actually following the recommended daily dosing schedule? Or vs staying with Joyous and just moving some of my doses around so that I'm only dosing ~3 days per week, but reporting as if I were dosing according to what they suggest? I know if I do this last one I'll probably end up with more troches in my mouth at one time than is optimal, but that's not horrible, just very minty. Also, one of my treatment preferences is to have a high enough dose that I can actually get some sort of emotional connection with myself in order to facilitate some Internal Family Systems type engagement with myself, which is just not accessible to me most of the time, and it seems like dosing every day makes this more difficult to achieve. That is what is driving me toward wanting larger doses, AND days off between them, even if the weekly dose rate is lower.
Also, is there some significant value-add from talking to a psychiatrist every month vs talking to a NP? And is there any reason to believe that the other people that Pruett has brought on would or would not provide that service as well as he does?

Going with a throwaway cause some friends know my Reddit account.
Me and my brother (15M) both have separate rooms that are connected by a shared bathroom between them. We each have a door that leads into it from our room. This is a pretty common thing in a lot of houses that I’ve seen, but ours has a weird detail.
The bathroom has a big walk-in shower with two shower heads. As in one for each person. Three feet apart, with no dividers or anything. When I think about it I really don’t know who this was designed for. A couple sleeping in separate rooms? I don’t know.
When we first moved in my brother and I (twins) were both 9. We got set up in our separate rooms and took showers at different times of the night. Every once in a while our parents would tell us to take a shower together (since we were young and brothers), just to save time if we had to go somewhere. We both thought it was embarrassing at first, but after a while it felt normal.
However, we kept on taking them together sometimes when we wanted to save time, even after our parents stopped telling us to. This went on for a while until we were 12. We were both really awkward with puberty and everything, but we had also both just gotten on to the same varsity teams, as well as our swim meets. Since we also went to the same school, that meant that we had the exact same schedule now. It also meant we had a lot of packed to be every day and not much time.
So now for the last 3 years my brother and I have taken almost every shower we’ve had together. It’s just become routine and not something I even realize is fuckin weird at this point. Whenever we get back from practice we just go to our bathroom, change in front of each other and shower and talk, like nothings different. On days we don’t have practice we get out of bed and into the showers at the same time. Usually even after a run or workout we’ll do it together. It’s just easier and not something we mind now, so why not. It’s honestly also the only time we talk completely one on one.
I completely get how bizarre the whole deal is. I’ve only told one of my friends, about it (not even the whole thing, just we shower together “sometimes”) and he reacted like it was full on freaky children of the corn weird twin shit. I mean he isn’t wrong.

Back from a 6 year long pause - Time for recursion?
It's incredible when you come back from 'pension'. Last time I played the game for real, was on my 24th. Quit when the new scanner came online. Couldn't get used to. Talked to old Ingress friends and decided to install the new scanner... and I like it again. I also noticed Niantic did make some improvements in 6 years time. Finally, haha!
Things what caught my attention: - Layers in your map. It's so nice to finally be able to see which portals you already captured. - Be able to name your capsules. Hell yes! Finally order is restored. - Mufg capsules are gone. My heart hurts for this one, really loved them. But I understand the benefits to get rid off them for the gameplay. It was too easy to get a decent stock. - Countdown time on portals. You actually see how long they will be burned out. - Double onyx possibility when you do recursion. - Machina: didn't encountered them yet, but I'm curious. - Drone net; figured out you can hack portals once in a hour. Any other cool things you can do with them? - New possible achievements. Seems fun! - 2 new mods. ITA and the other one. No clue/judgement formed, didn't use them yet. - My profile has a bug. After scrolling down it doesn't load more of the banners I walked... will they fix this? Because I loved to walk banners. Still do apparently, walked my first one after years two days ago. - There are way more portals these days. Curious how this will effect leveling up.
Conclusion/TLDR: time to do a recursion today (easy to track stats) and choose Resistance again. Time to level up, time to wander but not being lost, time to create and collect more banners, time to engage with x-faction again, time to see old friends... but I want to play it casual, like a normal hobby. Will that be possible...? Or will it be another all or nothing experience? To be continued...

Not how I envisioned it as a little girl, but perfect as the adult paying 🤣
I am the youngest of 4. My older sister got married - she is technically my stepsister, but our parents got together when we were very young. I know my dad paid into her wedding, but no details on how much. I have a decent relationship with my dad, but haven’t asked for money since I was 16 and never, ever would. My mom recently lost her husband, my stepdad, and I’d never imagine asking her for money, although she would give me every dime to her name. I don’t want her to do that!
Some other context: my now husband and I have been together for 9 years! Have a 5yr old. We were engaged for 4 years and never got married due to financial reasons (mostly insurance). Well, a needed move to another state made it so marriage was more beneficial than not (romantic, huh? lol but worked for us - somehow, after all these years, still feels like the “honeymoon phase”).
Anyway - to the very quick and perfectly affordable wedding:
-Got my dress off the David’s Bridal clearance rack for $96 after tax. Had been looking for casual white dresses at department stores, but found this gem for cheaper and got to have a semi-normal “bridal gown” experience, albeit with just my man and I lol
-Our “venue” was on the harbor of a beautiful spot along the Emerald Coast of the Florida Panhandle. Admittedly, the incredible backdrop was all owed to a “we know a guy” situation, but either way, no permit is required and as long as you can kind of get in & get out
-Most expensive part: we had only 13 of our closest family and friends come. Took them to a fancy restaurant about 10 mins from where we were married. For everyone, including tip, the dinner cost us $850. This was easily the most expensive portion of our night
-The captain that married us (boat captain and pastor, but we aren’t religious) was $200
-Our son’s outfit cost $15 for collared shirt and slacks from H&M
-Husband wore clothes he already had & I wore shoes I already had
Just wanted to share as love is the most important & the rest is doable. I’m lucky enough that we could get away with “we’re moving and had to get married quick - couldn’t invite everyone!” Especially as a lot of family lived far, where I was born. But even those we loved that were close, I didn’t include if they had bad juju going on in their lives. Didn’t need that on my happiest day and have no problem admitting that. For example, one of my great friends that lived close & would absolutely have come, had her husband cheat on her multiple times while stationed abroad. She decided to stay with him, but was not the kinda juju I wanted near my wedding.
Like I said, I envisioned the whole kit and kaboodle of a wedding day, picking out my perfect dress, getting ready in a bridal suite with a legit photographer, my whole family and people I love able to make it. But that wasn’t in my cards & I’m just so happy to be married to my husband, that for us - it was perfect. And affordable!

About 2 weeks ago I met someone in an online game. She was nice, caring, accepting, the whole package. Things went well for a week with good morning text, “have you eaten” messages, just anything you’d from the person of your dreams.
After the first week I noticed things declining such as no more good morning texts and just overall lack of communication. I asked her what the problem was and if I did anything wrong but nothing came of it until 3 days ago. She said I was overwhelming her and to take a few steps back. I did exactly as she wanted but now I’m stuck in a position where I’m alone and I’m just waiting for her to text or check up on me but nothing happens.
She spends all of her time with other people now and this is only one of many experiences I’ve had where after a week I’m left and replaced. I think I’m the problem and maybe I deserve to be alone. I’ve always had a hard time getting over people and it’ll take me months to build up trust with a new person, any advice would be appreciated.

AITA for wanting my boyfriend to take off work since I have for him? Me (F20) and my boyfriend (M20) are currently long distance about 3 hours away from each other and I have already taken off work multiple times to see him. He is coming to me this weekend for the first time but he doesn’t seem to want to take off work Friday so our time is very very limited since I work on the weekends. I can’t afford to take off this weekend because I already have too many times. It boiled down to only seeing him Friday night for about 5-6 hours after I get off and Sunday morning for 4 hours before he goes back home (I work ALL day Saturday). Kinda disappointing. Especially since he told me we wouldn’t get to see each other for 3 weeks after that. I will never ever ask him to take off (I kinda hinted and implied that I was upset about the situation) but I would never outwardly ask him to. I know he needs to make money this summer for the fall semester to pay for rent so I understand. But I do too…ugh. I’m a bit conflicted about wether my feelings are valid or not. He’s an amazing boyfriend but I’m just frustrated and I want to spend time with him. This post was mainly a vent.

Finished the series, i did not like Lavinia. I feel like her character was so unnecessary and was only included so Rick could have another queer charactecharacter who was going through something the readers could relate to. I love the diversity in the TOA series but it felt like her only characteristics were liking a girl nymph, being a friend(?) of Apollo’s and saving the day. When she saved the day at the end it made me definitely feel like Rick didn’t know what to do with her, it felt like he only put her in there for more personal issues the characters were going through that readers may relate to (feeling like she didn’t belong at camp Jupiter because she wasn’t good at following rules, finding her place with the nymphs and dryads and accepting her place in camp Jupiter) and it just didn’t feel natural at all. Also she was so damn annoying.
As for reyna, I read a spoiler before I read the book that she was ace and I was SO EXCITED because I’m asexual too and I vividly remember seeing a picture of a scene in the book on instagram where she specifically tells Apollo she’s asexual but when I read it all she says is that she wishes everyone would mind their business when it comes to her romantic life and that she’s normal… NO WHERE does that indicate she’s ace. I know because she joined the hunters of Artemis it’s insinuated but with every other character (besides Piper) I feel like it’s specified. It literally feels like that man pulled a J.K. Rowling and decided to add that inclusivity to please people without having to add it in the books and deal with backlash.

Hey, so a friend is starting a DnD Campaign, Dungeon of the Mad Mage. My character is a Drow who's mother failed the curse of the Drider from lloth whilst she was with child, and then subsequently died during child birth.
My character inherrited some minor characteristics as the curse passed to him through blood. Similar to how some vampires curses pass to the unborn when the mother becomes infected whilst pregnant.
The traits that I took were Secondary Arms and Improved physique. Larger and more limbs. Think Four-Arms from Ben 10.
As of the start of the campaign, he is roughly 330 years old (~33 in Elf years) and the curse has not progressed.
Ive been feeling the "curse" has no downside and is just benefits. I spoke to the DM about changing it up and gave him some options:
  1. Blood Dependancy: Must drink blood once every 7 days (7 long rests) else take 1 level of exhaustion. This is the easiest to cover as I just need to drain a corpse after battle once every 7 days, and pass a stealth check to not be seen by the rest of the party who are very much on the north side of the morality bar.
  2. Feral: Upon drinking blood, you must pass a CON save or become feral for X turns. Same effect for not drinking. This builds upon the Blood dependancy and adds a risk to drinking. However trying to work out what feral would look like. Do I randomly attack members of my party nearby unless I pass a CON save on each of my turns? Problem is, I am a martial so my CON is 18+8 proficiency. So a how high would the save need to be to add risk? As the curse has been stable thus far, clearly ive passed all my saves for 330 years.
  3. Curse progression: Drinking blood every 7 days stalls the progression of the curse. Failure to drink the blood causes the curse to progress. Here, id add additional spider like traits but would have a benefit and a detriment. This builds further upon the first two.
eg1: The curse may grant the ability to use Web at will, however I must cast a DEX / performance check or I will web myself instead of the target. To stop doing this, I need to complete a total of X successful uses, making it look like I am learning to harness the abilities of the curse over time.
Web: You can shoot sticky webs from your body as a ranged weapon attack. This attack has a 30/60ft range. On a hit, the creature is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained creature can make a strength check against a DC equal to 8+ your proficiency bonus + your constitution modifier escaping from the webbing on a success.
eg2, Poison Spray: Benefit, ability to cast poison spray at will as a ranged attack, detriment, until I pass X successful uses, I risk poisoning myself.
eg3: Venom Fang: Learn to use fangs as an attack, but until I pass X successful uses, I risk taking half necrotic damage.

Jacob will never purposely get her pregnant. He’s enjoying all the freedom he has to party and do whatever he wants. He KNOWS 100% without a doubt that Gray is taken care of and safe with Rach. She’s an amazing mom, and is doing an amazing job especially with everything she’s been put through. However, with Tuna Boat he knows he wouldn’t have it so easy. She can’t take care of her dog for more than 1 or 2 days due to vacations, boat days, girls days….the list goes on. No way in HELL can she be a mother and take on that big of a responsibility. Jacob knows he’d have no choice but to stay with her and play happy little family or she’d use the baby as a prop in TikTok’s calling him a shit dad right before dropping the baby off with pissy Rissa and Fin Fin.

Advice needed for my Centipede lawn, 8a SC
Hi everyone, new to this subreddit and a new homeowner as of last year. The lawn I had last year was great, albeit, inherited from the last owner that had recently installed the sod. This year, however, my yard is struggling. The photos show as follows (all photos were taken today after mowing): 1) Overall view of the yard, unobstructed sun for most of the day. 2) Closeup of a relatively healthy area of my yard for comparison. 3) Picture of large dead patch that is now being invaded by weeds. New seed didn't take when I tried to repair it. 4) Example of other sporadic dead patches. 5) Closeup of wispy darker green grass that seems to be invading certain parts of my lawn.
Some facts about my lawn care: ● I mow at 1 3/4". I know this is typically considered long for centipede, but I feel the length gives it better heat/drought tolerance ● I used Weed & Feed for southern lawns last spring and this spring. (Forgot my fall treatment) ● Since I've owned it, my mower couldn't bag clippings, so I'd let them lay. This changed just two weeks ago when I got a new mower so now I bag clippings.
So anyways I'm not sure what's going on. I don't know if the winter was too harsh this year with the long freezes we had even going into the spring or if its something else. Either way, the lawn is not recovering and dead spots will not fill in. Being a young homeowner, and having no previous experience with centipede, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Folks of reddit, i stumbled a few days over this game and im legit head over heals for this game. I can't wait for it getting released or rather that my guild gets alpha access.
I love both things, just plain fighting but also plain gathering and crafting. Like in the screenshot, it says it's a major part of the game. What im really curious about is, e.g. how will smithing look/feel like. Will there be just a big "catalog" of weapons which I can create or can i even give my own touch to the weapons I create. Sure, even so I hope it to be like that, I'm a game dev too and ik that it is unrealistic to have a real smithing mechanic, that lets you customize your weapons to the fullest. But I hope we have atleast somewhat a choice to make our weapons and armor unique.
What do yall hope how it's gonna be?

Several times a day I get intrusive daymares of bad things happening to me, and I have to stop whatever I'm doing because they're so intense. I get trapped in the imaginary world and have intense feelings to the point where I want to meltdown or cry. I get trapped in imaginary arguments with imaginary people or get persecuted/imprisoned over something. It's incredibly distressing because I can't convince my brain that it's irrational, it has happened to real people and I've been through such situations in real life. I call it pre-TSD because it feels just like PTSD, it just hasn't happened yet.
This is the bit of maladaptive daydreaming that I hate. I don't resent the positive daydreams, because for various reasons they can't really impact my life (I'm permanently disabled and can't participate in society anyway). It's these nightmarish daymares that make me feel panicky, angry and upset. I can't stop or ignore them. They just wait for me in the background, giving me an undercurrent of anxious fear, while I do unrelated things in the real world. Only playing through them for hours until my brain gets tired of them, is the way to make them stop.
I miss my life before the daymares. My ND brain sees the connections and possibilities in everything and I can't unlearn triggers. I'm tired of the pain and exhaustion. The only thing that makes me feel a little bit better is remembering that other people experience it too. 😭 I feel so alone with it. Seeing a few daymare posts reduced my anxiety by about 3%.

I already know this is a dumbass question but bear with me, others in my unit are telling me conflicting things… I’ve done some research but there still doesn’t seem to be a clear answer
I’m an 09R SMP cadet. I enlisted in July 2022 and have been M-day drilling since then. The expiration date for NDSM eligibility was December 31, 2022. Since I was in the Guard for a few months before that date, I would qualify for the NDSM, right?
Personally, I don’t give a shit about awards, especially ones I didn’t do anything to earn, but my ROTC cadre keep saying stuff like “don’t you have real Army awards from the National Guard? Stop wearing ROTC ribbons when you should just wear your NDSM.” It’s been more than once and at this point I’d rather just get the ribbon and stop all the questions.
My unit is geographically dispersed and I drill with a platoon-sized detachment, so there’s not a proper S1 or equivalent at my drill weekends. There are others I could go to but I don’t want to be that cadet bothering NCOs about awards that I didn’t even really earn. What should I do? Do I actually qualify for the NDSM (some cadets are saying only active duty qualified for it, but from what I’ve read that doesn’t seem true)?
