Holi, primero que nada vengo a contarles unas historias que me han pasado y que probablemente me sigan pasando en mi vida diaria pero no quiero contárselo a alguien que me conozca o algo así, en fin, en aproximadamente 6 meses he tenido bastantes problemas con familia y amigos por lo que he estado la mayor parte de esos 6 meses enojado con el mundo, la serie de problemas las voy a enumerar por que al menos para mi es bastante.
1-Mi hermano es un adicto menor de edad que por tanto consumir drogas lo tuvieron que meter a un centro de rehabilitación, fue algo muy duro por que lamentablemente mi padre se fue a mis 6 años y yo a el lo miraba como la figura de tal, resulta que en ese tiempo que no estaba mi hermano, estuve "abriendo los ojos" de cosas que yo las miraba de color rosa, el problema viene cuando mi hermano sale del centro, tal vez mi hermano dejo las drogas pero derrepente le paso algo, resulta que me di cuenta que era un controlador de mierda qué se hacía el muy maduro pero es más mierda qué nada, bueno, hace poco como un mes el se enojo demasiado conmigo por que según yo era "mamón" con el, aquí el problema es que el malinterpretaba cosas que yo siempre hago en la vida diaria, en fin, el se enojo y empezó a ser muy malo conmigo, extremadamente malo que abusaba de que es mayor y más fuerte que hasta me ponía a hacer cosas que poco o nada tenía q ver yo, en fin, yo me negué a hacer algo y el se enojo tanto que me agarro del cuello y pues paso lo q tenía q pasar, me agarro a golpes.
2-Tengo unos problemas en la cabeza que no me dejan ni dormir, de que aveces en mi momento más imbécil siento que mi cabeza esta hecha mierda por tantos problemas que tengo con mi familia, siento que de verdad voy a explotar, empiezo a creer que TODO el mundo es una mierda y que no hay solución para este mundo de hipocresía y bla bla bla, luego me siento mal de que pienso que solo soy un adolescente de 15 edgy qué cree que tiene depresión y luego pienso que no, en fin, hay muchas cosas que me pasan en mi cabeza que de verdad, te lo digo a ti que estas leyendo esto, a NADIE le he dicho algo de lo que estoy diciendo en este post, ni a un mejor amigo ni hermana ni mamá ni papá ni psicólogo (aunque no tenga) soy super mega reservado cosa que me caga de mi, en fin estoy molesto con todo el mundo y no quiero decirlo explícitamente pero siempre pienso de q "si este ambiente en el q estoy hay muchísima hipocresía, mentiras, doble cara, por que yo tendría que dar mis 70 años de vida en contribuir en esta sociedad qué no puede ni levantar la calle del barrio".
3-Mis amigos últimamente son una mierda, de que son super hipócritas, mentirosos, etc. Pero lo que más me molesta es que yo no hago nada y que ellos se les olvida todo lo que hicieron en 3 DIAS, y no hago nada por que sea un imbécil, si no por que de verdad me la paso bien con ellos y los quiero de verdad como mis amigos... pero pues ellos siento que no les importa.
En fin todo este post de reddit no es para dar lastima ni para que me den el típico consejo de "cuéntaselo a alguien más" "ve al psicólogo bro de verdad" díganme que hacer pero con otra perspectiva por que ya me se todo el cuento.
No creo que se halla entendido tanto pero si leíste todo, gracias de verdad, con que una persona lo halla leído estoy contento, de verdad muchas gracias ❤️

I was out on the Santa Cruz east side today and I think I may have been bumped by a shark? Details:
A big set came through, I was on a 9’6 log and barely made it over. Readjusted on my board and about 1 min later feel my leash get pulled and then a strong bump at the tail of my board. My partner saw a splash near the tail maybe 8in to 1 ft in diameter. I screamed and paddled over to the peak to be closer to the crowd, maybe 20 yards away.
Once there I tried to just remain fully arms/legs on my board and calm to not make any splashing but within 30 seconds another strong bump at the tail of my board. At this point I decide to paddle in, and paddle the 300ish yards to the exit. My partner didn’t ever see what bumped me and never saw a fin, but spoked none the less. We stayed and watched from shore for 45 min, and didn’t see any seals or otters (or dolphins but let’s be real that truly hopeful thinking).
What do we think? Shark bump? Big fish?

I spent a lot of time on forums growing up, and one had several adults who discussed politics obsessively. I read hot takes about Joe the Plumber and how great Obama was, etc. I thought these were really intelligent opinions when I was 14; two of these people were lawyers in real life.
I'm 31 now. I have a work channel, a school channel, and social media and boards I browse. There's a type of specific person who annoys me, because despite discussing politics almost non-stop, they never really seem to make any salient points. They trot out some mainstream media article, then make disparaging comments about some country that's not an ally of the US, like, "Guess the Ruskies need time to get their story straight. 🙄 Man I'm so tired."
I actually defer to a US point-of-view on several topics. Living abroad, I began to realize there were things about America I had come to appreciate. I also realized how insular my mode of thought was; I remember my first year abroad I discussed Russian interference with a Kazakh woman, and her reaction to me was like a patient adult dealing with a child convinced of Santa Claus. I was just convinced I knew what was going on, how could I not know? But I couldn't shake this unsettling feeling my serious thoughts had only amused someone who was trying not to offend me. It wasn't an unvaluable experience.
I think unless you're in a comparatively small group of people, you probably don't know exactly what's going on with current events. The Nordstream pipeline, we can make educated guesses — and some are more educated than others — but we probably won't truly know the entirety until decades from now.
Not saying the answer to whatever in-depth topic is, "Well we can't know, so let's not think or talk about it." But the level of smug confidence I find in people annoys me.

Hola, es mi segunda vez que comentó mi situación en redit.. Hace más de 6 meses conocí a una chica saliendo de la secundaria, la conocí en una esquina en la calle esperando a que sus primas salieran de clase, me acerque a ella y le hable, la elogie y intercambiamos números para hablar, así poco a poco hemos hablado y fortalecido más la amistad, hasta hace aproximadamente 4 meses empezó la situación de besarnos, nose, solo lo haciamos pero nunca pasamos a lo físico, es una chica que al igual que yo considera el sexo como algo importante, algo especial y único, así que nunca pasamos a algo físico, desde que iniciamos los besos me eh enamorado poco a poco de ella, eh sido si apoyo, su motivación y estoy seguro que ella lo sabe, sabe que me gusta, pero debido a una reciente ruptura de una relación la cual tenía, no eh querido pedirle que seamos algo, nose porque, tengo la corazonada de que me dira que no y eso me asusta un poco, el caso es que actuamos como si fuéramos una pareja y hace unos días le dije que le quería entregar algo, ese algo es una carta (soy alguien Bastante joven, la verdad y no soy de la generación de cartas y Rosas y así, pero eso me parece más poético, romántico y especial, por eso le haré una carta a mano) la cual dice lo que siento y lo que quiero, no dira la típica frase "quieres ser mi novia" o "podemos ser novios? " simplemente le diré lo que siento y el amor que cada vez crece más y más...

Alright, as preface; I am not a devotee to Santa Muerte. I don't have any connections to her besides what i am establishing these days, and i do not really intend to be here long, its just happening like this. So recently i have been hearing a lot about Santa Muerte, through podcasts and videos (shout out to wicked witch of LA interview with Witch of Wunderlust and The Red Cross Podcast!) and have even bought a book about her, reading most of my information off the web since the book isn't historical in nature, mainly ceremonial. In exposing myself to all of this media about her, as well as just having a very big love and (albeit stifled) embrace of her, i have felt like a lot of funny synchronicities have happened and i needed some clarification on if this 'counts' as anything. So after some weeks of at least some interest and a lot of curiosity about her, i have found myself in love with her image, and mental idea of her kindest self. I mean, death is something that totally encompasses every single one of us, imagine if—personified— it would be all embracing and amoral, as well as having a very machisma feminine energy that feels like a mothers tough love and ability to get shit done. Well Ive heard enough to understand her general gist, and the rest just feels as if its come to me by nature, like I'd know death if i had seen it. I am respectful, and havent physically started welcoming her, but mentally i feel like im embracing her, getting to know her or feel signs of her. Well of course, visiting a local botonica, i encounter a whole section dedicated to her; plenty of great statues and candles and books— which, one i pick up, if nothing else, but to be more informed. I havent opened too much, but i have seen she likes caves, and apparently her altar requires like,, the three cups of water. Funny but good to know... anyway, i live in a predominately lantix area, and i have mexican american roots, however, heavily whitewashed i am. So of course, while mediating on certain ideas and aspects of La Muerte, i invite her here and there. ~ it began with cigarettes, im a smoker, my mom is, so of course i naturally offer her smoke. "These first three drags are for you, Santisima" i pray in my mind, with no request, mainly just an ode to her for my cigs and weed. That happens sometimes, its whtever. Then i found myself putting a cigarette on my altar and declaring mentally, "for La muerte, with love." now this altar, isnt specific, at all. i go there to pray to the divine, and i imagine its just a place to invite spirit, it stays cleansed, there is offerings i freshen before each guest, and a cup of water sits as a protection/channeling element to symbolize the spiritual work happening there, if anything. My practice is very vague but effective for me. So theres her cig, the book that sits im the cabinet that i refuse to say "invites her in my dwelling" but would be remised if i didnt acknowledge that it is HER book and used as a TOOL to invite her, under my altar, and usually a spell candle for money, protection or the likes. So after some time just, revering her, i asked a favor, and mentally declared, i would buy her a pack of cigarettes and keep them, mainly for her. I had no luck with some funds for a second, and threw the candle that was pre-prepped, and just made a deal, which thanks to some loose constraints, i found granted QUICKLY, almost a day after pouring new water, cleaning my altar, and burning some offerings, i just mentally said, "if you can help me here, ill grab some cigarettes for you." Now see, i definitely i give her a lot more praise that im typing, but you dont need, THOSE details, what you should know is, a settlement landed in my favor, and i made the goal (through her grace). it happened on a day that i decided to wear a headcovering, for style, and it was the day i bought her a pack. It felt like, in exploration at least, i would dedicate the day to veiling my head in her honor. Now, it wasnt easy, and i kept adjusting all day, but it mostly stayed on till my nightly shower. Course, the first cig was hers, i smoked for her, veiled in her glory, and from that moment i felt good. so, on the altar shes got some candy, a caramel apple sweet, put in the offering dish with my petition. Well, today, getting ready for work i asked, her to send me a sign. three even. maybe her image, maybe something miraculous . who knows but i was eager to see what would come of it... well... today, the day after the petition was fulfilled, i was running late for work and the bus wasnt an option. in my lyft, after stepping in from a hot and muggy day i was greeted with pleasant and quiet driver - who cranked the A/C and on the floor in front of me, was a pack of Kools, from which three in tact and clean cigarettes spilled out . They weren't the drivers and funnily enough, it didnt look like the front was occupied since the chair was forward and leaning towards the dash. thats the first sign, and i politely put them in my bag, thanking her grace. then today at work, one of the first customers i greeted was a burly man, very kind, and from just above his chest peaked a skull and scythe, her eyes meeting mine from behind his wife beater, was Death, La Muerte. two funny dings to my psyche, but what happened just now after a long shift , i head to my room, glance at my altar and see a single, apple caramel bonbon wrapper. i flipped for a second. now i write this. needing input from the community to know or at least hear where you think i stand with her grace. p.s. Previously mentioned. latinx community, lots of tattoos of skulls and half of them being saints with half being death/La Muerte so i feel like thats too easy. So through the day i was veiling (the day before these signs-) a customer showed up with her rosary, a gorgeous piece, on a young girl, when i acknowledged it, her mother seemed a bit upset, but as they left, our good bye lingered a second longer than the usual one. and as a last thanksgiving before bed, i blew a puff of weed on a tapestry that has has a huge skull. Also, my little sister, who usual stays off my altar, went into my room looking for a "snack" and found a single bon bon of the three in my offering dish. which to me, feels comforting, like it was meant to happen for my third sign. i feel crazy about all of this, but it also feels wicked cool! please let me know what you all think !!! This is mostly just a rant/ vent, but feel free to discuss and give advice. Capitalism needs to end.
About a year ago i moved to my parents place at the coast where they are retired. There was a load of family drama and tragedy going on and they needed me to come, and i am now paying the mortgage on their house. I needed a job, and wanted something relatively low stress that i could just go, do my work, then go home and not worry about it with everything else going on, so i applied to a few of the many hotels in this tourist town, and got a job as a housekeeper.
Even though work sucks, i know i have to do it to live, so i try to keep a positive attitude as best i can.
It really wasnt bad to start out. It turns out i am very good at housekeeping, and after a month or two i could keep up with or surpass all the other housekeepers. Not only that, but our manager would desperately try to get people to clean up the property after the rooms were clean (vacuuming the halls, picking up the parking lot, clearing cobwebs etc.) Nobody seemed to want to do it, and just left as soon as their rooms were clean. I was the only one who always volunteered to do the extra work, and was willing to do basically whatever they needed. (Edit; im not dissing anyone that want to put in minimum effort) .After a couple months my manager offered to have me learn from the maintenance guy, and do building maintenance a couple days a week on his days off, allowing me to get 40 hours a week no matter how few rooms there were to clean. I accepted, and started learning to fix things, and maintain the pool and spa. Over time i ended up filling in for multiple other jobs, like houseman, and laundry. And about 4 months ago, i was also offered the head house/supervisor position on the days the other head house was off. I accepted. At this point i do about 5 different jobs at this hotel, sometimes multiple duties in the same day. I can clean a room better than anyone here. I inspect rooms more thoroughly than anyone here. I have never been late, and never called out aside from a single day when i was literally unable to get out of my driveway due to a freak ice storm.
Ive known for a good while that a couple housekeepers are making about 4 dollars an hour more than me. They were worked here a year before me, and due to some bad management from the previous GM (general manager), they were having a hard time keeping employees, and they were the most reliable housekeepers there. (SIDE TANGENT) --One of them now has a grudge against the current GM because he was caught smoking weed while the GM was giving a new employee a tour of the property, and got written up for it. This GM is one of the only managers ive met who genuinely cares about his employees and wants to have a relaxed and fair work environment. Hes a genuinely nice guy, but he had to do a write up to cover his own ass from the regional manager. This housekeeper now puts in little to no effort, and will tell everyone he meets that our GM is a horrible monster. Honestly, he didnt even put that much effort into anything aside from cleaning rooms before this happened. This guy is making 4 dollars more than me an hour. Again, not dissing minimal effort, just frustrated at my lack of pay.
I didnt worry about it too much at the time, but at this point i have thoroughly demonstrated that i go above and beyond, am reliable, and am committed to doing an outstanding job. Not to mention the fact that i do FIVE DIFFERENT JOBS HERE. They recently hired a NEW housekeeper that i found out makes more than me.
The GM regularly tells me how great i am, and will tell other people how hard i work and how much i do. I eventually asked when i was going to be seeing a significant raise. He agreed that i had earned it, and would consult the regional manager. The regional manager denied my raise.

Im not making as much as new housekeepers. Im not making as much as the laundry guy. Im not making as much as the other head house, who works really hard, but certainly doesnt inspect rooms as thoroughly as i do (ive gone into rooms after her and found egregiously dirty things)
I dont mind that they make as much as they do. But im starting to realize that im being F$%#K#D around here. Im under WAY more stress now than i was when i started, and i have nothing to show for it. I would rather stay here than find another job because i like the GM, and am friends with some of the other staff.
Im starting to loose motivation. Im browsing other jobs, and am thinking about applying till i get an offer, then threatening to quit if i dont get at least a 4 dollar raise. Though the best worker at the front desk was also denied a well deserved raise, and put in her two weeks notice. The regional manager responded with "sorry to hear that".
I know im a vital member of this company, and my leaving would put a massive and sudden workload on the GM, but i dont know if telling them i want to leave will get me what i want. Ive been getting depressed over the last couple months. The stress of being head house, trying to get the housekeepers to put out perfect rooms in too small a timeframe when we are selling rooms for OUTRAGEOUS prices (500-700 dollars a night on super busy weekends) is getting to me, and im realizing its not worth the amount im getting paid, especially when other people who put in no effort make way more. I need them to give me a god damn raise. A GOOD ONE. But the regional manager is a massive C$NT. Im being exploited. I knew this is how it works under capitalism, and ive experienced it before, but this is just next level fuckery.
It sucks, and i just need to vent.
