I was out on the Santa Cruz east side today and I think I may have been bumped by a shark? Details:
A big set came through, I was on a 9’6 log and barely made it over. Readjusted on my board and about 1 min later feel my leash get pulled and then a strong bump at the tail of my board. My partner saw a splash near the tail maybe 8in to 1 ft in diameter. I screamed and paddled over to the peak to be closer to the crowd, maybe 20 yards away.
Once there I tried to just remain fully arms/legs on my board and calm to not make any splashing but within 30 seconds another strong bump at the tail of my board. At this point I decide to paddle in, and paddle the 300ish yards to the exit. My partner didn’t ever see what bumped me and never saw a fin, but spoked none the less. We stayed and watched from shore for 45 min, and didn’t see any seals or otters (or dolphins but let’s be real that truly hopeful thinking).
What do we think? Shark bump? Big fish?

I was watching reels on Instagram while on the train, and I have an unconditional love for raccoons. Then suddenly this video appears of a woman stopping in the middle of the road to save a raccoon. She took him off the road and found a place on a nearby hill as she was filming it by giving him water….
But what really broke me is the caption “giving him water as he passes…” i can see the raccoon who barely can move and is on his last breaths. That’s when I started having tears in my eyes. I don’t remember having such tears that I can’t control…

I've read so many good things about this place, mostly dating from a few years ago. I'm here now and absolutely hate it.
Everybody is aggressively trying to sell things, continually stopping us in the street with dumb paper birds or peanuts. Women with traditional shoulder-slung baskets want us to pay them for photos. We can't take two steps in the village without someone yelling at us to buy a massage, buy a lantern, buy some art, buy some food, buy a coconut boat tour, buy buy buy. I bought Minecraft for the Switch as a gift for a small child. I gave the game a whirl to see if I would like a copy for myself an immediately noticed dolphins swimming in the water. I thought "Huh" and switched to creative mode, made a nether portal, and lo and behold the Nether Update. Then I looked into my creative mode inventory and found amethyst blocks. The wiki says the game is the legacy console version that never progressed beyond 1.12, but the wiki is dead wrong. At first I was excited I might be able to actually enjoy the latest Minecraft updates (potato PC), but the Switch can barely handle the game.
The reason I'm here is because this version sucks, overheats my Switch, and will probably melt the kids' Switch Lite. I only bought it because the Wiki mislead me.Someone needs to fix the wiki.

Hi all,
I have an approximately 1 year old cat who about a month ago had crystals in his urine and had blockage. Thankfully he was able to recover with medications and prescription food. He is currently eating hill prescription c/d urinary dry and wet food and only that. Prior to his illness I would give him 1/2 a churu tube wet treat a day. I have 2 other cats who still expect their tube and I feel bad excluding the 1 year old. Is it safe for him to have this? Are there any alternative treats he could have? Thanks in advance

A couple of days back, I saw a post stating how 2k can improve the MyNBA mode. As someone with 800 hours of playtime on the game and a MyNBA mode content creator, I wanted to add to that list that I saw a couple of days ago while adding some more things. I'm hoping this gets enough traction to garner some likes, and a curious 2k dev spots this and presents it to the rest of his/her team.

1. Aging

This is a major problem, that takes away from the realism of the game. Over the course of time, I want to see my players' age, specifically the star players. There's no reason Michael Jordan should still have hair past 1988. Kobe should not have to rock an afro his entire career. Carmelo Anthony and Stephen Curry look well into their 30s when they're drafted. At the very least, when editing players we should be able to change their appearances under their styles. A number of players have this problem, just to name a few: Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson.

1. Fans

For the love of God, please fix the fans and this black shirt issue. After you simulate the past a couple of decades, specifically getting to the current era when you jump into games, the fan's clothing becomes glitched. Everyone in the arena will be wearing all black, and it just takes away from the feel of the game. Not only that but there are no fans wearing accurate jerseys. It substitutes accurate jerseys for colored shirts and jerseys, which makes the game feel like it's being played with a created team.

1. PA Announcing

In NBA 2k22, 2k introduced real PA announcers to the game. This was one of the best moves they've ever made, and I commend them for adding this realistic feature to the game. These PA announcers can say EVERY single player's name in the game besides a select few. So why not just keep the same PA announcers across every single decade? For the decades prior to the current era, they use the generic 2k announcers from previous games. This leads to the announcers being unable to say the correct names of their teams, cheerleading and hype squads, and more. Instead, introducing the teams as the "home team", or referring to cheer squads as simply dance teams. This takes away from realism and is something that should be a relatively easy fix.

1. Coaching Staff

Just because I start the league in 1984, does not mean Greg Popovich ceases to exist. When the time comes for these coaches to come around, just simply place them in the coaching pool during the offseason. I don't want to simulate from 1984 and get to 1996 with no sign of Pop at all. By the time I got to 2023, many of today's current coaches ceased to exist, which was truly annoying. This led to many legendary coaches being left out of the league. This is a must-fix.

1. Playbooks

2k did a stellar job with the classic gameplay in my opinion. However, they did not do a good job with the evolution of the game. It shouldn't be 2023 with coaches still running plays from the 1986 playbooks. As the game evolves, the playbooks need to evolve too. Stephen Curry should not be running post-ups in 2015, he should be jacking up threes. This is a definite must-fix, as not only did this last up until 2023, but carried on all the way to 2050. No coach will be running plays from a 1984 playbook in 2025 unless it's a pick-and-roll.

1. Jerseys

Next, this is a smaller issue: add more alternate jerseys from the past strictly for this game mode and correctly update the Nike jerseys in 2017. I simply want more jersey variety for the earlier decades, but once the league starts to get into 2017, at the very minimum, at least correctly update all teams to their current-day Nike apparel. Put teams in their warmups, instead of treating them like a created team, and put them in their Nike jerseys. There were a couple of teams who were still rocking their classic looks, while most teams had their current-day Nike jerseys on. I understand it isn't easy to provide us with accurate jerseys for each team, since Nike changes looks every year, but at least keep the entire league on the same page.

1. Draft classes

One last small request, but make draft classes more accurate. Kobe was not expected to go number one in 1996. I see how it would be difficult to change, and lead to players not panning out, but the accuracy would be appreciated.

Post title: “I found myself in a bar”
Hot dog. So much I want to say, that I feel I should say nothing. But I've been doing that..
I have no idea why, but it happened. I was my younger, free, not caring what people thought self when I didn’t drink; at the bar drinking.
I shelled it up at some point; my inner me. Then once I stepped foot into a bar, or anywhere drinking honestly, I came alive. It was “me” again. Could talk to anyone, anywhere. “Oh that girl? Watch this.” “This guy next to me? He’ll be our best friend before the nights over.”
That was with friends or S/O's. Then when the time came, they either couldn’t or wouldn’t go out, I realized I could do it easier solo. Its not like I was/am shitty when I drink, they just didn't like I did/do, so over time it was just me.
I mean, I can fucking talk. Most of its bullshit, cause, for the most part, it’s a clean 50/50 that I care what you’re saying. But as long as you're there with me, lets do this. I don't think I'm a complete asshole for this; met many lifelong friends that I have to this day. Granted, most are drinkers, but plenty are not. Do with that info what you will.
I'm 35 now, 36 in November. First sip was around 11-12 years of age. Not a full beer, or drink; a sip. Then I moved at 14. Went to a new highschool, down south, where I stood out coming from up north(I'm actually born in Florida, but moved up to Jersey around 7, then came back). Probably doesn't matter, but maybe it does, mentally? Most hated me, at best, the rest were people who were doing drugs, but accepted me. Weed, pills, drinking, I was around it; and dabbling.
I got heavy into smoking weed throughout highschool. I was around 19 when alcohol really took ahold in my life, as I always hung around the older crowd; I had access. I mean, I drank every other weekend or so. By 21, arrested, parked on a median in front of a college my friends went to. I, not able to afford college, loved to go to their parties. Women, drugs and alcohol. What more could a young guy want? Got "lucky," school didn't press charges for running over the two small trees. I didn't hurt or kill anyone. Was just me, in my truck, with my own thoughts and faults. Looking back, maybe I needed some kind of major charge. I don't mean that I should have hurt anyone, I am a bit of a softy, and that would kill me if I did harm to someone that wasn't a threat, but from my own shitty actions. I don't know, cause I didn't stop. Drinking and driving for sure slowed down, but didn't come to the end it should have. How could I still do this, knowing I could hurt other people? What the fuck dude? WHY?! Well, maybe I am the asshole I didn't think I was. I kept on.
8 years later, I come to arrive again in Florida, 2 more DUI's back to back in a few months time after leaving Alaska(tried to escape, not knowing it was/is my mind that I was trying to run from). I could tell you the excuses, or not, but now I'm figuring out I am the asshole I didn't think I was. So I will briefly. The 2nd DUI, 28 years of age, got too drunk I didn't want to drive home. I was sleeping in my truck, windows down, getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Florida in july is a bitch. So, windows up, AC on, took shoes off, reclined driver seat. Most of you should know where that lead. SLEEP IN ANOTHER SEAT!! I digress..
3rd DUI, still 28, leaving Carrabas, 3 beers deep, so nothing major(hah). My ex, maybe 5ish(a bottle and a half of wine), cause that's what we did. We wanted more to drink at home, so went to Publix on the way. At this point I say I don't want much more to drink, we can get her more wine, but I had a bottle of whiskey at home. Well for some reason that flicked a switched with her, saying, I think she drinks more than I do, and my problem isn't hers. Well it wasn't like that a all, as I drank way more than she does. So I was kinda caught off guard. We both had/have many mental things going on at this point in life with family dying, losing work, all types of shit. Needless to say, we do not make it into publix, and Im pleading with her to get back into the truck in the parking lot. She does; I'm relieved. Yelling along the way, we make it to her apartment. I pulled out of her complex speeding to 45, in a 35, trying to keep her from beating up my car anymore, but right in front of a cop. Was sober enough, but he brought backup that told him I have previous DUIs, and that he wanted to run a test. Well, I said fuck that, like I always did/do, and now I'm sittin with a 10 year suspension. This is no blame on her, as I do miss and love her dearly, but I had to leave; I have a problem.
35 years of age, I drink. Whenever I am bored. Whenever there is nothing to do, knowing there is plenty to do, I would still go to the bar. I own a business, try my best to stay busy with work, but fuck. No hobbies, no nothing. Work or drink.
Met the most amazing woman I could have ever imagined. Was in love with me, seemingly as much as I was with her. My fuckin drinking killed it, cause I have nothing to offer. As I said, my hobbies are zilch, unless its drinking. She also drinks, but not like me. So yea..
All I'm saying is, reading what y'all have to say sometimes, really fuckin helps. I would say I have no idea how I got here. But I fully see it, and fuck me, do I want to change it.
