I’m 22yo, majoring in electronics and communication and i have one year to go before graduation, and here’s the problem:
I got into university in the first year of the pandemic, so i decided i will skip my online classes and instead study with a tutor. Tutors here in my country generally don’t care about concepts and explaining them, they just explain the problems and give you past exams to solve, and you will get great grades because of them. It was a wonderful idea because i kept acing my exams and getting perfect grades.
But right now every course I’m studying will reference concepts from other courses (especially math), and honestly i just feel lost and terrible. I know how to integrate and do all the difficult stuff but i have no clue why we do it and when i should do it.
How do i go about fixing this? I feel like I screwed up big time and I will need to revise all those big textbooks thoroughly to get a great foundation, which sounds impossible giving that I’m still studying for my bachelor degree.

This sounds like a stupid question, but can I ask what a "tala" is? What will happen if we (me and my sister) didn't renew it?
Because tonight, someone from the church visited our house and told me that my sister and I update our "tala" and we only have until June 30 to do so. She also asked me to bring a photocopy of our birth certificate, vaccine card, valid ID, and a 2x2 picture with white background.
I swear, I have been a member of this cult since birth yet I don't have an idea what this thing is. Is "tala" referring to the information that we gave after we got baptized? Is this like a membership renewal?
Again, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I would appreciate it if someone answers.

What is the correct procedure to update vivado in Linux? Should I download the new installer and it will detect the old version? If not, should I uninstall the old vivado first and then install the new one? Anything I should keep in mind to minimize weirdness and things breaking?

觀自在菩薩,行深般若波羅密多時,照見五蘊皆空,渡一切苦厄。 摩訶般若波羅密多心經 the Heart Sutra of Prajnaparamita
這句話用原始佛教的概念的解析是:
The original meaning from a primitive buddhism perspective:
覺知和平等心的禪修可使人超脫並到達彼岸。並當在般若智慧深入到某一個階段時,可以達到色、受、想、行、識皆停止運作的狀態,並可以超脫於所有痛苦和煩惱。
Meditation on mindfulness and equanimity can lead people to transcendence and reach the other shore. When prajna wisdom reaches a certain stage, it can achieve a state where the functions of form, sensation, perception, mental formations, and consciousness all cease, and one can transcend all suffering and afflictions.
在這裡的「五蘊」其實是照應著心經這句:
The “five aggregates” within actually correspond to the sentence in the Heart Sutra which says:

這句說話原意是指「通過修行般若智慧的方法,心再沒有任何阻礙。」
The original meaning of this sentence is “Through the practice of the method of Prajna wisdom, the mind no longer has any obstacles.”
所以我們的「心」會因為「五蘊」而被阻礙。其實「五蘊」原意是指「我們受困於身體制造給我們自己的空相訊息」。
So our “mind” is obstructed by the “five aggregates.” In fact, the original meaning of the “five aggregates” refers to our being trapped in the empty appearances that the body creates for us.
以下有一些日常生活作為例子去說明「五蘊」如何影響我們,如何令我們「心」有所礙,顯意識失去控制。
Here are some examples from daily life to explain how the “five aggregates” affect us, how they hinder our “mind”, and how they cause our consciousness to lose control:
色蘊(Form)-眼、耳、鼻、舌、身的訊息供應Pāli रूप (rūpa)- Sensory information from the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body
我們從人體所提供給我們的感觀無時無刻都會在外界吸收大量訊息,例如「視覺」、「聽覺」、「味覺」、「嗅覺」與「觸覺」。這些訊息也會作為一種內在的刺激而引起潛意識對顯意識產生「依附」。人體一切的感官接收的訊息其實是外界對人體的刺激,我們並不知道其本質但又因為「色蘊」對外界產生執著。
We absorb a large amount of information from the external world through the senses provided by the human body, such as “sight”, “hearing”, “taste”, “smell”, and “touch”. These pieces of information can also serve as internal stimuli, causing the subconscious to become ‘attached’ to the consciousness. All sensory information received by the human body is actually external stimuli, and we do not know their nature, but due to the “form aggregate”, we develop an attachment to the external world.
「相由心生」其實出自佛教用語,所謂的「相」是指所有一切你認為客觀存在的事物,都是由「心」所生,和一個人的外在沒有任何關係。我們人體有很多感官可以令我們透過視覺、聽覺、觸覺、味覺、嗅覺等去感知一種事物不同的面向,在原始佛教中認為,一切經由我們在意識下的感官所感知到的一切事物,其實只是我們創造出給自己的刺激。例如我們感知到一朵花的顏色其實是經由光線折射到我們的視網膜反映出來,客觀並不存在所謂的顏色。而聲音只是經由空氣的震動傳到我們的耳朵內的聽覺感知元件,客觀並不存在所謂的聲音。味覺與嗅覺只是我們人體的感知機制讓我們聞和吃到不同的味道,客觀並不存在所謂的味道。以上種種人體感知功能如果換作另一種動物,更可能有另一種因為不同物種之間感知功能的差異導致對客觀事物有不同的體會。
“Appearance arises from the mind” actually comes from Buddhist terminology. The so-called “Xiang(Appearance)” refers to all things you consider to exist objectively, which are all born from the “mind” and have nothing to do with a person’s external appearance. Our human body has many senses that allow us to perceive different aspects of a thing through vision, hearing, touch, taste, smell, etc. In primitive Buddhism, it is believed that everything perceived by our senses under consciousness is actually only a stimulation we create for ourselves. For example, the color we perceive from a flower is actually reflected by the light refracted onto our retina. There is no objective existence of color. Sound is only perceived through the auditory sensing component in our ears by the vibration of air, and there is no objective existence of sound. Taste and smell are just our sensory mechanisms that allow us to smell and taste different flavors, and there is no objective existence of taste. All of these human sensory functions, if applied to another animal, may lead to different perceptions of objective things due to differences in sensory functions between different species.

Example 1: The stranger develops an inexplicable “liking” for the woman due to sensory stimulation such as visual or olfactory cues.

Example 2: Alan experiences fear, disgust, and other negative emotions toward cockroaches due to sensory stimulation such as visual or tactile cues.

Due to the internal stimuli caused by the “feeling aggregate”, the individual’s imagination is further aroused, and they become unable to extricate themselves from their thoughts.

Example 1: The stranger begins to have fantasies about the woman, such as sexual fantasies, fantasies of further contact with her, and fantasies of the next encounter.

Influenced by the “feeling aggregate” and the ‘perception aggregate”, the body begins to be controlled by the subconscious, leading to a series of physical behaviors.
例子一:開始接近陌生女士並提出希望與其交換聯絡方法。更甚會對該女人作出性騷擾,甚至強姦。
Example 1: The stranger begins to approach the woman and proposes to exchange contact information. In more extreme cases, they may sexually harass or even rape the woman.
例子二:艾倫如果感受到恐懼、嘔心討厭等情緒,會馬上逃離現場,更甚或會暈到。如果是感受到嘔心討厭或會不斷蟑螂作出攻擊性行為。
Example 2: If Alan feels fear, disgust, or other negative emotions, they may immediately flee from the scene or even faint. If they feel disgusted, they may exhibit defensive or aggressive behavior towards the cockroach.
識蘊-潛意識對我們的影響,例如本能、過去的經歷以及因生活經驗形成的性格等等Pāli विञ्ञाण (viññāṇa)- The influence of the subconscious on us, such as instincts, past experiences, and the formation of our personality based on life experiences.
並不是所有外在和內在訊息都能引起潛意識依附,潛意識依附的條件與我們的本能、過去的經歷以及所形成的性格等等有關。潛意識包含著大量訊息,在日常生活中潛意識會在我們不知情的情況下紀錄各種外在和內在訊息。我們無時無刻都會受到潛意識的影響,觸發起潛意識的某種感覺記憶和動物性本能就會引起潛意識對顯意識的「依附」,但當中的因果關係非常隱閉、複雜並不可思議,我們很難在沒有對自己意識的觀察下知道自己念頭和情緒慾望的起因。當「依附」開始時潛意識會產生大量念頭,顯意識不知不覺被這些念頭所影響,當顯意識投入到念頭當中就會進一步產生慾望和情緒。
Not all external and internal information can trigger subconscious attachment. The conditions for subconscious attachment are related to our instincts, past experiences, and the formation of our personality. The subconscious contains a large amount of information, and in daily life, the subconscious records various external and internal information without our knowledge. We are constantly influenced by the subconscious, and when a certain feeling memory or animal instinct is triggered, it will cause the subconscious to become ‘attached’ to the consciousness. However, the causal relationship between them is very hidden, complex, and unimaginable, and it is difficult for us to know the cause of our thoughts and emotional desires without observing our own consciousness. When attachment begins, the subconscious produces a large number of thoughts, and the consciousness is unconsciously influenced by these thoughts. When the consciousness is immersed in these thoughts, it will further generate desires and emotions.

很多人非常沉迷神秘主義,將心經最後的咒語視為修行至寶。但其實心經的第一句就已經總結了原始佛教修行的核心。就是透過內觀冥想修行般若智慧可以「覺有情,渡眾生」,在心裡認知和明白我們所受到的任何外在與內在的對顯意識的剌激都是虛假,並在內觀冥想中理解和體會這些現象是虛假後,可以解脫於一切痛苦。
Many people are deeply addicted to mysticism and view the mantra at the end of the Heart Sutra as a treasure for spiritual practice. However, the first sentence of the Heart Sutra has already summarized the core of original Buddhist practice. Through introspective meditation, Prajna wisdom can be attained, which enables us to “perceive the existence of all sentient beings and liberate them from suffering.” By recognizing and understanding in our hearts that any external or internal stimuli we receive, which affect our consciousness, are all false, and by comprehending these phenomena as false in introspective meditation, we can be liberated from all suffering.

Hi everyone I joined teaching at the ripe age of 22 last year on a training program, my placement was supposed to last 2 years however they chose to cut back on my subject and now it’s looking like I won’t have anywhere next year.
Hopefully the provider continues looking for a September 2024 placement 🤞 my subject is very specific.
Since I’m acting that they won’t find anything for September this year start, if they do -amazing, but I won’t assume anything, what could I do during the year firstly to make money and secondly to continue having experience?
If I did part time volunteering at a local school could I pass that off as something of a year of experience? Or at least being relevant?
What about supply teacher opportunities? Could I teacher other subjects even though they aren’t my specialism? (I teach business and computing).
It’s a very stressful time as I don’t know what’s around the corner but I’m keeping positive! Any advice is appreciated!

I mean the kind of shouting during high octane action scenes where fans are excited. What are your thoughts on it.
I think it's fine as long as it is done only in a few moments or if there are many people shouting in the theatre but that's my take. I feel like everyone who watched Endgame first day knows this feeling.
But it is rude and disturbing for others in the theatre and a bad etiquette.
On a side note: spiderverse is one of the best films ever. On track to become probably the best trilogy ever.

Just a warning this will be a pretty long post :)) you’re welcome to skip to the tips if you don’t want to read it all!
Hi! i’m F20 and have had panic disorder badly for about three years with the worst of it in 2022, i had panic attacks basically daily and when i wasn’t panicking i was anxious and on edge. My Panic disorder is treatment resistant too which made finding coping skills even harder.
I wanted to share what’s been working for me as i definitely got super sick of hearing “take a deep breath” or “find 5 blue things” (totally fine if those work for you! they just don’t work for me). I’m not at all fully recovered but i think i can handle my panic pretty well now and it’s become more of an inconvenience rather than something horrible and terrifying.
- Firstly and in my opinion most importantly: EDUCATE YOURSELF ON PANIC ATTACKS!!!! i genuinely cannot stress this enough, it was a game changer! i get my information from www.anxietycentre.com , in particular the “anxiety and panic attack symptoms” section. This took away so much fear and uncertainty for me and decreased the severity of my attacks too because i knew i wasn’t dying.
- Make a routine for yourself for when a panic attack does happen! with panic disorder it’s inevitable that we will have panic attacks, instead of hope you don’t have one i think it’s important to put that energy into making the attacks bearable! My routine is to get comfy in bed and ready with youtube in the background. You could also include safety items like fidget toys or meds or anything like that :)
- Sorting out your mindset, i know it’s so easy and normal to feel super down and hopeless with this disorder especially when you loose a lot of freedom but i think it’s really important to have a good mindset with this sort of thing. I don’t mean completely reject feeling bad or sad or hopeless ever BUT i think it’s important to give yourself credit for being so brave and surviving through this awful thing! Self compassion goes a long long way and i personally think feeling miserable and shitty all the time makes dealing with panic disorder even worse. Treat yourself how you would a child or friend who’s experiencing the same thing, give yourself love and kindness!
- Medication, i know some people want to avoid meds and i completely respect that but for those of you who are open to them read on! I’m on 30mg of mirtazapine and also working up to 10mg of propranolol and omg, biggest game changer!!!! i’m not completely cured and i do still have panic and anxiety often BUT it’s sooooo much more manageable now ! my attacks last like 1 hour max and are so mild in comparison to my old ones! I really struggle with a medication phobia but working up to the full dose super slowly is super helpful, i start with a quarter and go up from there :)
- Counting, this sounds a little silly but when i’m panicking i close my eyes and i just count in my head as high as i can (my record is 1000) it genuinely stops my panic in it’s tracks sometimes! i’ll sometimes even fall asleep and when i wake up i’m okay again (most of my panic is at night)
- Lastly, don’t feel bad! don’t feel bad if you’re not ready to begin your recovery journey, don’t feel bad if you relapse on bad habits, don’t feel bad if you thought you were better and then feel you’re back to square one AND most importantly DONT FEEL BAD FOR REACHING OUT FOR HELP!!! weather help is a family member, psychologist or the ER!!
Hopefully these tips can help a little, you’re not alone in your struggles and this won’t be your new forever, i promise :)

2023.06.02 13:37 ravens_are_asleep003 Me and my cousin used to be very close and I think that the reason we aren’t now is because our parents made us unconsciously resent eachother.
Me and my younger cousin used to be like best friends. We would rarely see eachother during the year but when summer break comes we would go to our weekend house in another city with our grandma for like a whole month. We were so excited because our grandma would let us do anything we wanted and we had so much fun. No parents in sight to yell at us, just pure bliss and freedom.
We started to get distant as we got older. My cousin would start to pull away and become even more reserved than she usually was and i felt like she didn’t like hanging out with me anymore and there is a pretty good reason for that.
I can’t say that we grew up abused or neglected but our parents, mostly our moms (they are sisters), would yell and smack us around which is considered normal where we grew up. I guess you can say it was emotional neglect/abuse and just because its normal where i come from doesnt mean that we dont have trauma from that. I can say for myself that after I started kindergarten I was deprived of any kind of affection from my parents since i was old enough to be taken care from my grandma and they had to work.
It all started when my aunt started comparing my cousin and me saying things like “ why can’t you be like your cousin and read more books, why can’t you be smart like her, why arent you interested in the things she is interested in” ect ect.. I didn’t think that it affected her at that time because we were young and it felt good getting praised for something for once but now that im older I realize that she might have started to resent me for that.
On one instance i went to their house so i could help her with some math. She couldn’t grasp the concepts no matter how hard i tried. My aunt kept yelling at her and told her that i wont be leaving untill she solves the examples. When we went back to her room I started to explain the problems again, she scoffed and said “ when are you going home (it was said more like a statement rather than a question)”. I dont know what i felt in that moment but i remember it to this day and probably will forever sooo… yeah..
Even though both of our moms would emotionally neglect us i can say that my cousin had it worse. It was a recurring joke on our family gatherings how my aunt would yell at my cousin and her siblings. Sometimes my mom would even laugh about it saying things like “you see how your aunt yells at them at least im not that crazy”. I have a lot to say about the way i was raised and the way my younger siblings are being raised now but thats a story for another day.
3-4 years ago my cousin started to pluck her hair one by one and she would roll it between her fingers. It was so bad that she had bald spots on her head. We vistited my grandma once and my aunt would say things like “ look at her look what shes doing to her hair” and would put put her in the spotlight embarrassing her. My grandma would also judge her and give her disprooving looks. I was so confused why was she doing that and it was not long ago untill i realised that what she was doing was because of stress/anxiety. I had no idea at that time i just tought it was weird and since we werent close anymore i didnt ask her anything about it. Even if i had asked her she probably wouldnt have told me anyway. I didnt know what was going on in their house and my mom never mentioned anything. Eventually she stopped doing that and was never mentioned again.
A fiew years later she had made an instagram account and she added me to her close friends list. I noticed that the things she would share were insinuating that she might be a part of the LGBTQ+ community. As time passed it became apparent that indeed she was. To be honest my first tought was if her parents knew. I am worried about her and i dont want her to get in more trouble with her parents because where we come from being gay is still frowned upon.
Since she was pretty reserved as a kid she didnt have much friends let alone female friends because she was on the tomboyish side. Now i see her post pics with people who accept her for who she is and im so happy that she finally has found a community where she feels like she belongs. I don’t know any of them personally but they seem like pretty chill people. The only bad thing that ive seen her do is smoke. She’s also an athlete and i don’t want that to interfere with her sports. Last ive herd is that her perents have no idea that she smokes but thats just waiting for a shitstorm to happen.
I want to reach out to her and somehow try to mend our relationship but i dont know how. I myself have communication issues and hard time expressing my feelings and now that im in college 3 countries away its even harder to do that.
I had to rant about this, its been heavy on my counciousness and i feel so bad for not noticing the obvious sighns that she needed help. Hopefully shes doing okay now and i miss having fun and doing stupid things together. Those were some of the best memories from my childhood and hopefully ill make more with her in the future❤️🩹

| The last one I forgot to grab the screen where it shows everything all together. I’ve always wanted a full ND palette! Just the price of these makes it worth the whole box plus boost! I was pretty happy that for the most part my power picks were all different! My choices mostly had the same items. I bought the too faced lipstick in my first purchase and then it was in my next boxes choice but it was up against items that were worth quite a bit more so I was still happier to pay the $12 for it. The main things I wanted were the Byroe eye cream, the JLO cleanser, the wander mascara, the fenty contour(which is nuts that it was even a choice on all 3 bc I had contour as never on all 3), and the keys cream. The keys cream was an option for the 3rd one too but the mudmasky primer looked really nice. So, I got pretty lucky. 2023.06.02 13:37 princessjared Dog’s coughing getting worse and worse. Are we on the right track?
In March, my dog (male, 10-11 year old chihuahua terrier mix) started coughing. At first, it was irregular enough to make us think it was random and would go away but we’re now several months into this and it’s gotten much, much worse.
On a good day, the cough sounds like a goose honking which I would call a dry cough. On a bad day, it’s a very wet cough where you can hear all types of mucus or phlegm or something in his lungs. Usually the coughing session, which last about 15-20 seconds each time, ends with him gagging like he’s trying to throw something up but nothing usually ever comes out. We’ve noticed his coughing is worse at night but he will still have coughing fits throughout the day. The worst night had him coughing what felt like every 20 minutes and it woke me up so many times that I let him sleep in my bed and I went to sleep on the couch. Two nights ago though he coughed up mucus and blood. His breathing is starting to sound very wet, labored, and his chest rattles. Last night it seemed like he was struggling to breathe. He’s starting to look so exhausted throughout the day from spending his night coughing. Before this (even at 10-11) he was still playing and running around with us like a puppy and full of so much spunk (just sleeping a little bit more), but now any sort of playing will immediately lead to a coughing fit.
We’ve taken him to the vet 3 times now. It wasn’t taken seriously the first time (this was back in April). But the second time he got prescribed heart worm meds (he doesn’t have heart worms but it was just in case) and some sort of antibiotic. The heart worm medicine didn’t seem to do anything but the antibiotic drastically decreased the amount of coughing fits he would have. As we tapered off of it, his coughing has continued to get worse.
We took him back this week and got some x-rays done as well as a blood test. His white blood cells are extremely high. The x-ray came back showing some sort of unusual wispy-ness on his lungs on the right side of his body. The vet said that he thinks it’s a pulmonary edema or pneumonia (we originally thought collapsed trachea). He sent for a second opinion and that person thinks it’s a mass. Not sure how relevant it is but the vet asked if he regurgitates after eating; usually not with food but if he drinks too much water which happens pretty often he’ll regurgitate it back up. The vet said he looks good otherwise (good color and whatever it is in the X-ray doesn’t seem to have spread). Next step here is a CT scan and some more tests but we’re unable to do this until Monday. We got prescribed different meds from this visit and it doesn’t seem to have helped the cough much but he does seem to have more energy now.
I guess I’m here posting this because Monday seems far away and my boy is clearly progressing worse and worse. I just want to make sure we’re on the right track and not racing against time. I’m also curious of any other opinions other vets or someone with a similar experience may have and if they recommend anything to ease this experience on my dog? I love him so much and it’s really hard to see him like this.

I’m thinking about going in my first trip (overnighter). One loop I’m considering is about 60% tarmac and 40% gravel on the C&O canal trail. The second option is an out and back that include the first 16 miles of the C&O trail near Potomac, MD.
I’m currently only equipped with my road bike that has 28mm slick tires. Will my tires make it or should I wait till I can get my gravel bike back in my possession?

2023.06.02 13:37 That_Tiggy Sonos and Spotify Interaction Issues
Hi, throwing this out there in the hopes someone else has experienced these issues and have workarounds.
First issue: When you trigger Spotify playlists in Sonos App (Favourites/Music Browser), Spotify apps are completely blind to the activity. e.g. If I open my Spotify Android (or Desktop) app after starting a playlist in Sonos, it says nothing is playing or connected. If I then take over in Spotify (via Connect) it will reset the queue/listening party.
Second issue: Spotify devices are not visible from the Web API or web app when idle, open.spotify.com will not show Sonos speakers in the Connect menu until you manually Connect/Cast from the Spotify Android/Desktop app. They are always visible in the official apps, but there is seemingly no way to extract a persistent Connect ID for API usage.
For context I'm trying to trigger playlists in HomeAssistant while being able to view them in Spotify Connect - allowing me to control music from Spotify app and for others on the network to join a listening party. This isn't possible with the Sonos integration because of the first issue, and not possible with Spotcast integration because of the second issue. I will crosspost this to HomeAssistant as I appreciate some aspects go beyond just Sonos.
Are both these issues due to the 'partial' API support that Spotify has granted Sonos, or vice versa? I read that Sonos devices are 'restricted' and not fully compliant with 'Connect' standard?
If anyone has a workaround I am all ears.

So our “mind” is obstructed by the “five aggregates.” In fact, the original meaning of the “five aggregates” refers to our being trapped in the empty appearances that the body creates for us.

Here are some examples from daily life to explain how the “five aggregates” affect us, how they hinder our “mind”, and how they cause our consciousness to lose control:

我們從人體所提供給我們的感觀無時無刻都會在外界吸收大量訊息,例如「視覺」、「聽覺」、「味覺」、「嗅覺」與「觸覺」。這些訊息也會作為一種內在的刺激而引起潛意識對顯意識產生「依附」。人體一切的感官接收的訊息其實是外界對人體的刺激,我們並不知道其本質但又因為「色蘊」對外界產生執著。
We absorb a large amount of information from the external world through the senses provided by the human body, such as “sight”, “hearing”, “taste”, “smell”, and “touch”. These pieces of information can also serve as internal stimuli, causing the subconscious to become ‘attached’ to the consciousness. All sensory information received by the human body is actually external stimuli, and we do not know their nature, but due to the “form aggregate”, we develop an attachment to the external world.
「相由心生」其實出自佛教用語,所謂的「相」是指所有一切你認為客觀存在的事物,都是由「心」所生,和一個人的外在沒有任何關係。我們人體有很多感官可以令我們透過視覺、聽覺、觸覺、味覺、嗅覺等去感知一種事物不同的面向,在原始佛教中認為,一切經由我們在意識下的感官所感知到的一切事物,其實只是我們創造出給自己的刺激。例如我們感知到一朵花的顏色其實是經由光線折射到我們的視網膜反映出來,客觀並不存在所謂的顏色。而聲音只是經由空氣的震動傳到我們的耳朵內的聽覺感知元件,客觀並不存在所謂的聲音。味覺與嗅覺只是我們人體的感知機制讓我們聞和吃到不同的味道,客觀並不存在所謂的味道。以上種種人體感知功能如果換作另一種動物,更可能有另一種因為不同物種之間感知功能的差異導致對客觀事物有不同的體會。
“Appearance arises from the mind” actually comes from Buddhist terminology. The so-called “Xiang(Appearance)” refers to all things you consider to exist objectively, which are all born from the “mind” and have nothing to do with a person’s external appearance. Our human body has many senses that allow us to perceive different aspects of a thing through vision, hearing, touch, taste, smell, etc. In primitive Buddhism, it is believed that everything perceived by our senses under consciousness is actually only a stimulation we create for ourselves. For example, the color we perceive from a flower is actually reflected by the light refracted onto our retina. There is no objective existence of color. Sound is only perceived through the auditory sensing component in our ears by the vibration of air, and there is no objective existence of sound. Taste and smell are just our sensory mechanisms that allow us to smell and taste different flavors, and there is no objective existence of taste. All of these human sensory functions, if applied to another animal, may lead to different perceptions of objective things due to differences in sensory functions between different species.

After receiving external information through the “form aggregate”, we generate internal sensations. For example, we may feel “attraction”, experience desire, and feel fear, or disgust.

Example 1: The stranger develops an inexplicable “liking” for the woman due to sensory stimulation such as visual or olfactory cues.

Example 2: Alan experiences fear, disgust, and other negative emotions toward cockroaches due to sensory stimulation such as visual or tactile cues.

Due to the internal stimuli caused by the “feeling aggregate”, the individual’s imagination is further aroused, and they become unable to extricate themselves from their thoughts.

Example 1: The stranger begins to have fantasies about the woman, such as sexual fantasies, fantasies of further contact with her, and fantasies of the next encounter.

Influenced by the “feeling aggregate” and the ‘perception aggregate”, the body begins to be controlled by the subconscious, leading to a series of physical behaviors.
例子一:開始接近陌生女士並提出希望與其交換聯絡方法。更甚會對該女人作出性騷擾,甚至強姦。
Example 1: The stranger begins to approach the woman and proposes to exchange contact information. In more extreme cases, they may sexually harass or even rape the woman.
例子二:艾倫如果感受到恐懼、嘔心討厭等情緒,會馬上逃離現場,更甚或會暈到。如果是感受到嘔心討厭或會不斷蟑螂作出攻擊性行為。
Example 2: If Alan feels fear, disgust, or other negative emotions, they may immediately flee from the scene or even faint. If they feel disgusted, they may exhibit defensive or aggressive behavior towards the cockroach.
識蘊-潛意識對我們的影響,例如本能、過去的經歷以及因生活經驗形成的性格等等Pāli विञ्ञाण (viññāṇa)- The influence of the subconscious on us, such as instincts, past experiences, and the formation of our personality based on life experiences.
並不是所有外在和內在訊息都能引起潛意識依附,潛意識依附的條件與我們的本能、過去的經歷以及所形成的性格等等有關。潛意識包含著大量訊息,在日常生活中潛意識會在我們不知情的情況下紀錄各種外在和內在訊息。我們無時無刻都會受到潛意識的影響,觸發起潛意識的某種感覺記憶和動物性本能就會引起潛意識對顯意識的「依附」,但當中的因果關係非常隱閉、複雜並不可思議,我們很難在沒有對自己意識的觀察下知道自己念頭和情緒慾望的起因。當「依附」開始時潛意識會產生大量念頭,顯意識不知不覺被這些念頭所影響,當顯意識投入到念頭當中就會進一步產生慾望和情緒。
Not all external and internal information can trigger subconscious attachment. The conditions for subconscious attachment are related to our instincts, past experiences, and the formation of our personality. The subconscious contains a large amount of information, and in daily life, the subconscious records various external and internal information without our knowledge. We are constantly influenced by the subconscious, and when a certain feeling memory or animal instinct is triggered, it will cause the subconscious to become ‘attached’ to the consciousness. However, the causal relationship between them is very hidden, complex, and unimaginable, and it is difficult for us to know the cause of our thoughts and emotional desires without observing our own consciousness. When attachment begins, the subconscious produces a large number of thoughts, and the consciousness is unconsciously influenced by these thoughts. When the consciousness is immersed in these thoughts, it will further generate desires and emotions.
例子一:一個人的美醜本無一個客觀標準,都是主觀感受。但陌生男士可能因其過去的經歷或者在小時候對母親的依戀,自行發展和定義出對「美」的主觀標準,所以才會對陌生女士產生情緒和慾望。
Example 1: Beauty and ugliness have no objective standards and are all subjective feelings. However, the stranger may have developed and defined his own subjective standards for ‘beauty’ based on his past experiences or attachment to his mother in childhood, which is why he has emotions and desires towards the woman.
例子二:艾倫可能童年對蟑螂的外觀或體型的厭惡反應太強烈,或基於某種與蟑螂有關的原因所產生的恐懼,所以才會如此恐懼蟑螂。
Example 2: Alan may have had a strong aversion to the appearance or size of cockroaches in childhood, or developed a fear based on some association with cockroaches, leading to their fear of cockroaches now.
最後 Finally
很多人非常沉迷神秘主義,將心經最後的咒語視為修行至寶。但其實心經的第一句就已經總結了原始佛教修行的核心。就是透過內觀冥想修行般若智慧可以「覺有情,渡眾生」,在心裡認知和明白我們所受到的任何外在與內在的對顯意識的剌激都是虛假,並在內觀冥想中理解和體會這些現象是虛假後,可以解脫於一切痛苦。
Many people are deeply addicted to mysticism and view the mantra at the end of the Heart Sutra as a treasure for spiritual practice. However, the first sentence of the Heart Sutra has already summarized the core of original Buddhist practice. Through introspective meditation, Prajna wisdom can be attained, which enables us to “perceive the existence of all sentient beings and liberate them from suffering.” By recognizing and understanding in our hearts that any external or internal stimuli we receive, which affect our consciousness, are all false, and by comprehending these phenomena as false in introspective meditation, we can be liberated from all suffering.
