My Mom and Dad built a house in Bangalore with majority of their life savings for retirement income, unfortunately tenant took complete advantage of their lenience and lived rent free for almost two years evading repeated requests to vacate the property, during this process lost my dad, that made even more difficult to deal with the tenant, finally hired a lawyer and paid multiple people along the way to throw them out. The amount of stress we had to go through during this process is unimaginable, especially while I am outside the country and mom being alone. We also lost so much money during this process and the property is completely trashed, need another 2 to 3 lakhs to bring it back to shape. All this process made me decide not to rent the property again. Mom lives in our native village, farm income and postal savings interest is plenty enough for her needs.
We do not want to sell the house as it has sentimental value and do not want to deal with tenants anymore, I value peace of mind more. I usually visit India 3 to 4 weeks a year. So, to start off, I am a new mom. I have a 2 month old son who I am with 24/7. My boyfriend makes enough money so I get to be a SAH mom/girlfriend.
Ever since I became a mom, I decided to leave the partying, clubbing, drinking, hoe life behind so I can be a devoted mother and girlfriend. I have told all my friends this before and they usually take that into consideration when asking me to hang out.
However my best friends birthday is coming up this Saturday and she decided to celebrate by renting a pole dancing class in her city which is an hour away from mine. I will admit, two weeks ago I did tell her I would be there but as long as the class wasn’t more than 2 hours long and not too late so I could come back to my son before bedtime which she agreed to.
Now a week before her birthday she finally tells us the time slot she chose which was 4:45-7 and that she would come to my city after the class to go out to bars. Unfortunately, this did not work for me so I declined to come bcuz I did not want to drive back to my city late and my front bumper on my car is hanging on very loose.
This upset her and she said someone could just give me a ride down there and that if I don’t come the bill would fall on her so I offered to pay my portion of the class and I also told her I would leave early anyways as I didn’t want to be out too late from my son. But she keeps insisting her sister or our other best friend could drive me down there and back.

However my best friends birthday is coming up this Saturday and she decided to celebrate by renting a pole dancing class in her city which is an hour away from mine. I will admit, two weeks ago I did tell her I would be there but as long as the class wasn’t more than 2 hours long and not too late so I could come back to my son before bedtime which she agreed to.
Now a week before her birthday she finally tells us the time slot she chose which was 4:45-7 and that she would come to my city after the class to go out to bars. Unfortunately, this did not work for me so I declined to come bcuz I did not want to drive back to my city late and my front bumper on my car is hanging on very loose.

I moved to Upper Arlington about 3 months ago and at first I really loved my $1100 two bedroom apartment (a steal in my opinion) on the top floor of a two unit townhome. The area is super cute, I love houses so I thought it would be nice to live in such a nice neighborhood, to walk around and such… My neighbor has been the absolute worst since the very first day I moved in. She had issue with where we were parked, how loud the buzzer on my dryer was, etc. I tried to be really considerate of her with these issues and changed how my guests parked along with turning off my dryer buzzer and other resolutions however she seems to always have issue with something. I have severe PTSD that I get weekly intensive therapy for along with the use of medicinal marijuana, and she complained about the smell of my vaping to me the first week I moved in. I stopped using altogether for months but was still having trouble with her and now with my PTSD as well. After a month or so of not using, in late may, I did use again. She called the cops on me but I wasn’t home or able to talk to them. Yesterday, I used again, and she called the police who came out and I spoke with. I am within legal rights of use regarding my medical card, however the city of UA has an “offensive odors” ordinance of which I could get fined for. Tonight, I got home late from work and started cooking a meal listening to music, hadn’t used, and I hear the cops at my door again. She had called and complained about the noise level. They told me in front of her that my music is not too loud, and we need to find a resolution with our landlord. However the city of UA also has a similar noise ordinance. I feel like the cops are over it, they’re going to have to cite someone next time they come out and I’m worried I’ll have to pay a fine… I’m truly at a loss of what to do about this situation and wondered if anyone had experienced this or dealt with this before. I always have gotten along with my neighbors, using medicinal MJ everyday and playing music louder and longer.. I get along with other neighbors who live next to us.. I just feel bad even existing above her at this point and don’t want to get fined.

Heyyoo. This is a super weird post but, there has to be someone in the area that is in my same situation. So, I live in my car. Have for awhile now. But man it’s getting old and I want to get a hotel room. I have a very nice Priceline account and get some good deals.
Basically, is there anyone out there who wants to room up in a good hotel for a bit? Paying for 7 nights gets the best deal. There are rooms with full kitchens, suites if you will, for 650 a week. I cannot afford that by myself. I can do half that every week though.

Ever since I became a mom, I decided to leave the partying, clubbing, drinking, hoe life behind so I can be a devoted mother and girlfriend. I have told all my friends this before and they usually take that into consideration when asking me to hang out.
However my best friends birthday is coming up this Saturday and she decided to celebrate by renting a pole dancing class in her city which is an hour away from mine. I will admit, two weeks ago I did tell her I would be there but as long as the class wasn’t more than 2 hours long and not too late so I could come back to my son before bedtime which she agreed to.
Now a week before her birthday she finally tells us the time slot she chose which was 4:45-7 and that she would come to my city after the class to go out to bars. Unfortunately, this did not work for me so I declined to come bcuz I did not want to drive back to my city late and my front bumper on my car is hanging on very loose.

2023.06.07 06:28 Slippery-pesito I want to move out of the city however the mental burden of it now I have LC has been a struggle and I contemplate if I should do it at all even though the end goal I feel would be beneficial
I could stay in the city and keep doing my routines here.
The apartment costs quite a bit and is wasted money somewhat (sunk rent) however it is a very comfortable place.
I also have a nice group of friends at a place where I volunteer.
Other than that though I feel really restricted with the 'it's all over' rhetoric and avoiding nearly everything social and people in general. Other than the volunteering which is outside I don't see the point being in the city now as the main reasons I lived in cities was for thriving social scenes and feel living in the country would be much better now.
Moving house is always a big thing at the best of times but now I am lumbered with this chronic illness I just want to curl up into my shell at the thought of it.
I had been planning to buy a van so I can try living in it see how it works out while still in the city then make my way to my mother's who is in the country.
I am capable psychically to do most stuff so certainly can say I am on the milder side of this disease I just have a constant feeling of being poisoned generally, body pains, inflammation (brain GI issues post nasal drip) and suchlike.
So the end goal looks seems like a good choice, to get into the country to live a quieter and slower life however the getting from A to B is daunting. I am just running through the bad case scenarios and how having a vehicle will be a big commitment, what if I don't like it and then have to sell it so I will have to interact with people and so on.

We bought it six years ago. 1904 craftsman one story with a huge yard. It’s small. About 1100 sqft including the finished basement on a double lot. Has a cute front porch, close to the Main Street. Had a huge tree in the yard. Perfect “country” retirement home. We thought we would move there one day when we retire and in the mean time we would rent it.
Then it started. We had to take down the tree because it was too close to the house and electric is going right through it. Then we had to take down the huge detached shed because it’s not in great shape and repairing was a $$$$$ proposition.
Then we found issues with foundation and plumbing and a few different things that had to be taken care of. All that was fine. We never resented any of it. The house was cheap and we knew going in we have to take care of stuff.
Then came the tenants from hell. They wouldn’t pay rent and trashed the place. We had to threaten eviction. They left but we had to eat the rent loss. That’s the last straw. I can put up with anything but people not respecting my house. We realized there’s no guarantee the next tenant would be any better. And we can’t move in for another five years at least. I had so many plans to fix it up. Now someone will tear it down and use the double lot to build denser housing.
So we decided to sell. I’m bitter about it. I know it’s just an old ugly cute house. But it was adorable and it was just not meant to be 😞

Am I slow or is this anxiety?
I didn't go to pre-K, I did go to a morning class, but I never went to pre-k. In 1st grade, I went half days, and my mom would take me out in the afternoons. I did go to a homeschooling teacher for a little while, I can't remember how I did. Then, 2nd through 4th grade, I went normally. Then, she took me out to homeschool me, it didn't work out so she stuck me back in later in the year.
I surely fell behind because I couldn't stay focused on my schoolwork at home, that's why my mom put me back in public schooling. Which I'm thankful for. I missed a lot of school through my education years, due to an illness I had which had me vomiting quite frequently. They took me out of class for math because I fell behind, and I had comprehension issues due to my ADHD. I have attention deficits. But, now it's gotten better. In 5th grade towards the end of the year they brought up to my mom they would like to place me on an IEP due to falling behind in a few subjects; Reading and Mathematics.
Fast forward to current time, given I was in an IEP I feel like I'm intellectually or developmentally delayed. I feel like I'm slow, I currently live at home and work in the hospital as a certified nursing assistant. I work full time, but I feel dumb. I pay rent at home even though I'm so bad with money it's insane. I'm impulsive with money especially, I prioritize things badly. I know I'm doing it too, it's just like impulsive. It's weird. I have bad anxiety, social anxiety as well.. anxiety for every situation it seems like. I've gone to therapy for it, because I feel like I'm existing... not living. My therapist says that given that I was able to pass my CNA state certification I'd have to be average or above average in intelligence to even pass it.
I feel like everyone around me knows something is "off". Even though I haven't heard it, I'm sure they talk? I don't really care about anything else anyone has to say BUT the thought of them thinking that I'd be slow or intellectually delayed bothers me. As a kid I walked and talked on time, and passed my childhood milestones. It wasn't ever indicated I was intellectually delayed.
I got employee of the month 2 months being in the hospital, but I've made big mistakes no one got hurt. I've been a CNA 4 years prior. These nurses are my age and younger and they seem so mature. I feel like sometimes I feel dumb and inadequate. I'm quiet, but I want to be smart and an intellectual. They always say how a hard job I do. These nurses hangout and are friends with each other. I feel out of sorts here. There's been times where they come sit by me cause I sit away from them. Do you think they think something is off? They seem to like me and keep me included. THEY are articulate, I think I'm articulate online but offline it's bad.
I don't know if I'm overthinking this?
There's patients that come in with cognitive deficits or intellectual disabilities. I don't act like them, but everytime I hear something along those lines I panic. I worry people think that about me. I worked with adults with intellectual disabilities and it triggered something in me. I had to quit because of it.
I got drunk the other night and said to my friends "I think I'm slow" and they were like "No you arent!" But idk if they say they cause they didn't want to hurt my feelings.
The CNA test is common sense but my therapist said that I'd have to hold an average intelligence.
I still live at home, I'm 26, needing dental work done and now I have to get insurance on my own because I don't have any now. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Is this just anxiety? My one friend said socially I probably have anxiety over. I do have bad social anxiety and I'm quiet. I spend money and sometimes go into overdrafts, I'm bad with money but I know I am and it's an issue. I spend money to be happy, because I'm so sad a lot. I am paying off my car to my mom, I pay rent everyday check to my mom. It's not like I'm living here for free. I would love my own place but I can't afford it.

I just feel like I'm 26 and I have nothing. Absolutely nothing. Dating is nonexistent, which doesn't surprise me. I've always had issues with it. I don't have kids, probably a good thing if I'm low intelligence?
For example, I was working tonight and forgot a patient was NPO. It was a silly mistake she was thirsty and she can have sips with meds. So the nurse said she can't have water. I obviously didn't read the sign that said NPO. And I feel so stupid.

So for context I am 21(M) and I’m a self employed “handyman” but I do everything from plumbing to electrical and flooring. I charge 25$ an hour and I work with my father most of the time but sometimes I do things on my own.
A family friend “Mary” we will call her, contacted my dad for a flooring job on a house she inherited. My dad was busy and didn’t have time to do it so he referred me and I’ve known Mary for over 10 years. My dad tells me she agreed to 2$ per square foot which in my area is a little under the market value. She needed to do it quickly as she wanted to move out of her rental month to month and not pay another month.The condition was that my dad gave her under value price if they helped since they volunteered to help out and prepped the floors(taking out the refrigerators, clearing the floors of any and all debris and pulling all the nails from the tac-strip) which they didn’t have done and I had to ask multiple times for them to do things that should’ve been done before I got there. We usually do nothing of the sort but since they are family friends we thought we’d cut them a deal. Mary is one of my dads best life long friend’s step daughter for context.
I start the job and everything is going fine besides the fact that they haven’t helped at all. She mentions that she’s moving out of a place in a nearby city and I’m in the market for a new place to rent. We checked it out and really liked it. A couple days in she says I’m getting paid 1$ per square foot. I quickly deny this and say the deal was two dollars and that I would never do this job for 1$ per square feet. We go back and forth for a while where she states my dad said 1$ when I explicitly asked my dad to confirm the price before doing the job and even double checked the day prior to starting. So we have a long conversation about how much to pay and she suggests horse trading work for things I’d need to move into the house(Stove, 2 AC units, TV and a dryer) and suggests we just move in under her lease and we pay her and she pays the bill also that we get the security deposit when we move out 1500$ in value, seeming low risk if we got caught for living under her lease I agree to the deal because I felt bad and wanted to help her out and she could help me out. The deal we made came out to 3200 dollars in monetary value and that was me being generous because I was paying the price she bought things for not really what they were worth. I also agreed to pay for this months rent since she would be out of there and into the new house and would move in that month also allowing to take the pressure off of her to get out so quickly because there was a lot more then the floor that needed to be done before she moved in. She had unrealistic expectations and this relieved the pressure. So I paid 1700 dollars on the first (4 days into working and 2 days after we made the deal) for rent that month.

My wife and I have a toddler and another baby on the way. We currently have a new 2021 mobile home and the town we live in rent is sky high because it's a tourist town. I work a high paying job make 100k+. The mobile home is a 2 bedroom and we will need to upgrade to a 3 bedroom. Do you think it would be wise to pull all the positive equity (over 100k equity) out of the mobile home and put it on a down payment on a bigger house 500-600k. And list our home for rent for $2200 per month. (It would probably rent out fast)

 | Hi there, i’m currently helping my dad renovate one of the homes we rent and after the last tenants moved out we decided to gut and redo most of the house. I just bought a new house and I want to leverage a lot if the free space I have to make some extra income(obviously). I was thinking of converting my garage into a full fledged studio for photography and renting it out. So I’d buy things like lights, reflectors, backdrops, stools, place to sit etc.
I also have an upstairs with 2 rooms and plenty of space that I could potentially also use as well….thinking about it now the state I live in is sort of hot so I’m wondering how the garage will work now. Any ideas, tips or advice?

My partner and I make a combine income of $65,000 after tax. My husbands income is $33,000 after tax. We both work from home and have two children. One is two the other is a newborn. We are both currently in maternity leave. My partner is returning to work and I will be quitting my job to look after the kids and house full time. I do not want to quit my job but not sure if daycare/nannie is worth it with our current income. The daycare I am looking at $317 per week full time for toddler and infant is $412. Our rent is $900, utilities are $ 450, Car insurance is $80 and food/diapers are $ 500 a month. I need advice if sending both kids or just the toddler to daycare is a sensible choice or if staying home is a better option. If I stay home my husband will look for a second job.
