The Bomber is best used as a defensive troop, being able to take out Barbarians, Skeleton Army, Goblins, Spear Goblins, Archers and other ground swarms more effectively than most other cards, due to his moderate splash radius, moderate damage and low Elixir cost. Even though he has low hitpoints, his survivability is good for his Elixir cost, as he is able to survive any 2 Elixir damaging spell of similar level. Therefore, using any spell that is more expensive is usually a waste of Elixir, as a Fireball or Arrows played to defeat a Bomber results in an Elixir advantage for the opponent unless the player can hit something else with the spell such as a Princess Tower or troops nearby. He has a lot of damage potential when placed safely behind high hitpoint troops such as a Giant. A lone Bomber can be countered with a Zap, Giant Snowball or The Log alongside the help of a Princess Tower without the Bomber doing any damage. The player should hold the Zap ready, and when the Bomber is within range of the Arena Tower, cast the spell. The Princess Tower's damage along with the Zap's stun time of 0.5 seconds will prevent the Bomber from throwing any bombs for a neutral Elixir trade. For a further Positive Elixir Trade, the Ice Spirit can counter him due to the Bomber taking 2 hits to defeat it, allowing your Crown Tower to finish him off. For just 2 Elixir, the Bomber deals good area damage and is one of the cheapest counters to Barbarians due to his range. In fact, it takes a Bomber 4 throws to defeat the same level Barbarians (with the third throw leaving them at critical health, resulting in any other hit defeating the Barbarians), and a Bomber 1 level higher only requires 3 throws. He complements tank pushes very well because of this. However, due to his somewhat slow hit speed, the Bomber will often be taken out by the Barbarians, but the Player can place him in the center to increase the Barbarians' travel time. Another method is to place protective Troops such as the Ice Golem or allow the Crown Tower to finish them off after the third throw. An effective way to counter a lone Bomber is to place a cheap unit like Skeletons or an Ice Spirit followed immediately by another cheap unit like Goblins. The first unit will distract the Bomber while the second unit destroys him. This is generally a negative Elixir trade, but can used to make an counterpush. Surrounding the Bomber with Skeletons can cause him to take them out in two hits instead of one due to the deploy stagger of the Skeletons, though this is somewhat inconsistent due to the Bomber's area damage radius. The Bomber cannot attack air units, making him vulnerable against Minions and flying troops. However, when using the Bomber, the player can place protective troops such as the Giant or the Baby Dragon. Since he is very light, the Bomber can be pushed by almost any other troop in the game. In particular, fast units like the Goblins can provide the Bomber with a major speed boost. Putting this card with Spear Goblins is a good idea since together they can engage targets within their comfortable range, making for a quick ranged point-target and splash damage backup for the player's other troops across the river, or even a quick and small push. If protected by an Ice Golem, the Bomber can take care of mini tanks like the Elite Barbarians, Knight, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Bandit, and others due to his decent damage per hit. The Bomber is interchangeable with the Wizard, based on the player's preference and tactics. However, he cannot attack air troops and has fewer hitpoints, meaning he can be one-shot by Fireball or Arrows. The Bomber is also better in desperate situations where the player's Elixir is low, as he only costs 2 Elixir, as opposed to the 5 Elixir Wizard. A good counter for the Bomber is the Bandit. The Bandit will dash towards the Bomber, dodging the bomb thrown at her, which will leave her at full health for a counter attack. This is better when the Bomber is in the middle of the opponent's territory as this will allow the Bandit to reach the Tower faster

Hi peeps, long time lurker, first time poster. It's long, I'm sorry.
I need some advice, I (26f) and my new partner (26m), unnamed for privacy, have been dating "officially" for a month and a half after casually dating for another month and a bit.
At first it was great, nice dates, good conversations, we agree on a lot of things other than some slight political differences. He is new to my town so he doesn't have a lot of friends and had previously gotten out of a 2.5 yr long distance relationship a 8 mo back which ended not the best as per him.
I've been putting in lots of effort, planning and paying for a whole date day for him (we only got halfway through because he had a family emergency), bringing him cookies I baked specially for him, bringing snacks and food he likes, introducing him to my friends and family this early because he's asked, and doing thoughtful things like writing him letters on my night shifts to have some communication that's not over text or snap.
There have been a few pink flags like my partner deciding to go game even though I'm over at his apartment and he has ignored me for 1-3 hours, 3+ times, refusing to watch my shows after I watched one of his, and spending a good chunk of his income on take out which he eats while gaming. Also as far as I can tell, he games from the moment he wakes up till sometimes 5 am with his friends who are always on discord with him.
Also communication has nosedived since we first started dating. I'll ask questions and receive one word answers or nothing at all. No response to any memes I send, etc.
Anyways, most of the time when we see each other it's a lot of hanging out watching movies and sleeping, we both work shift work and his is very inconsistent compared to mine. Recently (beginning of May) I had a male long time friend come to town on vacation which was planned before I met my partner. He and I spent a lot of time doing activities etc. My partner was invited and encouraged to come to everything but he did not meet my friend once or try to make an effort to do anything while my friend was here, and my partner had made a gross comment about me and my friend, saying "tell me when you two confess your undying love for eachother". Which was weird and very much not the relationship him and I have.
We had a fight at that time where I was trying to reach out to him daily to include him etc, since he had been weird, and he shut down, we eventually spoke over the phone and we made up.
2 weeks ago we had another fight because I hadn't seen him in over 4 days and he seemed not to want to see me and I was sad and confused. He shared that communication can be hard for him and promised to make an effort/tell me when he needs space etc. He came over to see me after work and it was lovely
Today we had a fight because I had been waiting hours for him to wake up after not seeing him for 6 days and he was very defensive, he did not set an alarm (slept for over 10 hours and woke up at 7:30pm), and was only communicating sarcastically. I was sad I had to wait so long on one of my only days off when I had communicated I wanted to see him,, and his response was "I'm sorry I needed to sleep". It feels like my time is not being respected and I'm not sure if he actually cares. I had a whole bag packed to go over to his place and he told me not to come because he "didn't have the mental capacity to deal with this right now". I called him out for his behaviour and we got to a better place but this seems like a LOT for like a month and a half. I'm seriously unsure how to deal with it. I've brought up boundaries and relationship expectations 2 times now and I'm very upfront with what I need.

I (30M) went to grad school right after college, and got my PhD in biological sciences after almost six years. During that time, I made just enough to get by (~30k/year in an expensive city) while working 60-80 hours/week. I was able to live frugally, and my only real financial goal was to avoid debt, which I did.
For over two years now I've been working in biotech, even got promoted recently, and I've averaged a salary on the low end of six figures. I naively thought I'd just be set financially, but I cannot seem to save money. I live paycheck to paycheck. I put almost nothing towards retirement, and I can't imagine saving for a home. I can't even manage to pay off 5k in credit card debt I've accumulated!
Admittedly, my spending habits have changed. In the last couple of years, I bought myself LASIK as a graduation gift, moved out of a shitty shoebox studio into a decent one-bedroom apartment, and for the first time bought a (used) car.
It's also become more expensive to spend time with my friends. They want to go out and eat out more often, and I almost always join. Recently a big group of my friends proposed going on an international vacation together, and of course I wanted to go. These kinds of experiences with friends are one of the best parts of life and I just don't want to miss out.
Add on travel expenses for a couple of weddings and trips to visit family each year, and it adds up. I don't want to miss out on those either.
I just thought after all that hard work, after getting the job I wanted for so long, that I'd be able to afford the lifestyle I imagined. But I can't. I thought that after having some real money for the first time in my life that I could buy nice things! But I'm spending everything... and it's hard to cut back when I see friends spending money all over the place, friends that expect I'd be in a similar financial position.
I'm sorry if this sounds like a whiny post. I know I'm lucky to be where I am, and I have benefitted from privilege and support. But I could still use some advice.

Hello Reddit, ik this is not the best place to talk about this but i need advice. I have anxiety and somewhat severe depression which often makes me tired resulting in me not getting anything done. i have once said to my mother that i would like to go to a therapist i already knew and she agreed but i live in a not so developed toxic surrounding which made progress impossible. The therapy did not help, ig my cousin was right. My life is mostly ruined, and is getting even more. Nobody wants to acknowledge my illness, not even my mother or my older brother who snuck to see my papers. Nobody feels remorse besides my cousin. I don't think i can go further.

So I have heard many analysts describe the new rules in the CBA regarding the second apron (17.5 million above luxury line) as a "hard cap". Bill Simons (I know) pretty much assumed it was a hard cap and went on some rant about letting grant Williams walk and trading JB. But, am I crazy to think that many people are making a bigger deal out of it than it really is and that many teams will just blow right thru it?
If a team goes over the second apron some restrictions are placed on them (no MLE, can't take back more salary than you send out in a trade, can't sign buyout guys, restrictions on trading 1st round picks). I can see how these restrictions can be onerous for teams that aren't super well constructed right now as it limits their flexibility to build a good roster. For example, I can see how this really hurts the Suns as they try to build a solid bench around KD and Book. I get that.
To me these new rules dramatically increase the importance of bird right on player (i.e. roughly speaking a rule that allows teams to go above the cap to sign a player who has been under contract with the team for 2 or more years). For teams that are competing for the championship who have 7 to 8 solid dudes (realistic rotation in playoffs), I could see them blowing thru the cap and doing anything they can to sign players they have bird rights to. For example, in looking at the rosters and contracts of players on Boston, Cleveland, Memphis, Pelicans, and Denver, all these teams have hefty payrolls, have 7-8 guys that are solid rotational players and on the better side of 30. It seems reasonable for these teams to conclude that they are likely going to go over the second apron no matter what and so they might well not go partially over but just blow it out of the water by retaining all players with bird rights (assuming owner is willing to pay luxury tax). That seems like the best chance of winning than carefully orchestrating contracts to slip right below the second apron.
In the case of the Celtics, sure everyone wants to poke fun at them b/c they lost and people are talking about trading JB and letting Grant Williams walk. I look at it like in all likelihood the Celtics are better with JB than with whoever they get in return. with JB and JT and everyone else one the roster you are likely over the second apron. Knowing that and restrictions that places, I am trying to re-sign grant Williams, even if I have to pay him 15 to 20 mil a year, because I know filling that roster spot with a decent rotational player will be hard.
For Memphis, next year they will have to do a deal with Desmond Bane and that will get them close to the second apron. That really make the Dillon brooks situation interesting. Sure he takes ill-advised shots and runs his mouth a bit, but his bird rights are tempting considering his roster spot would be replaced by if they let him walk.
Denver is interesting because they have a 9.5 mil trade exceptions expiring this summer and another 4 mil trade exception expiring at trade deadline. If I am them, I am blowing thru the second apron and putting these exceptions to work to try and get another solid playoff rotational player even if they are on a bad contract. At the end of the contract they at least have bird rights to a decent player.
For all teams likely going over the second apron soon, the MLE will be super interesting this off season. I think teams won't offer MLEs to these one and done, second year player options guys (ie. DiVincenzo, Bruce Brown). They will make MLE offers w/o player option so at the end of the contract they at least have early bird rights. This may mean not going after the top MLE guys.
In essence I think teams that are fairly deep right now will conclude that they are better off keeping what they have and paying for it than trying to concoct these trades that keep them barely under the second apron. Am I making sense here?

WARNING - the following is a vaguely ambiguous description of one’s man take on rat people who wear full metal armour
I like to say am a fan of stormvermin “thematic armour,” does it fit the faction and the skaven well? fur? check. No pants? Check. Do they look like a rat? Check
It answers the question what happens when a ratman doesn’t die after a few battles, how does he go about protecting himself? Stormvermin seem to favour full plate, full body protection with a few oddities. Their paws aren’t protected at all, they do hide the gaps tho between the shoulders and chest with a short cape so their actively avoiding armouring their paws…
My best guess they want to keep as much dexterity for climbing and jumping? Makes sense as skaven love ambushing their enemies and maybe lack the same dexterity of a human?
Their armour is designed to be compact, letting them still fit into rat holes and move fast I.e stormvermin..
Other oddities include spikes covering their armour, especially the helmet that offer little to no advantage, if anything in melee other less armoured skaven who bump into a stormvermin will get stuck to his armour dogpiling on-top of him.
Presumably this all is about intimation, to avoid being targeted as a easy mark, to look as dangerous as possible. Don’t get me started on the 6 foot long metal back spikes with skulls on warlords or the metal lanterns. Have they seen skaven structures? Like to see a warlord try to move around without bumping into the one support holding up the whole undercity and start a chain reaction lighting the whole place on fire…
One last thing… if stormvermin want to wear full plate why don’t they protect their tail or neck? Why brother looking for gaps when all you have to do is slice their six foot tail dangling away from them and wait for them to die of blood loss or pull out a dagger and slit their throat? You would think living in a cutthroat society every day make them realise one of the easiest way to kill someone is the throat or also in their case the tail?
Ok… now about what I liked
Stormvermin are knightly looking, every skaven believes they are better then everybody else so in a medieval world knights are seen as the most prestigious, the most important and skaven love that…
Stormvermin are evidence of a centralised power in skavendom, the council of 13. They are trained killers from a young age apart of a elite fighting force responsible for protecting warlords, grey seers and their assets…To someone who knows little to nothing about the skaven it’s easy to assume a mad max world when it’s more like the hunger games with a small number of highly trained and technologically advanced skaven.
They have military ranks with higher ranking stormvermin commanding armies. A stormvermin, a stormfang, a bodyguard, a red guard are all different positions with different responsibilities and duties. A stormvermin and stormfang are actively fighting with the latter as the commander of an stormvermin regiment. Technically in vermintide we are fighting stormfangs who are said to wear spiked armour. The other ranks either are protecting important skaven or assets, or are special forces going behind enemy lines to disrupt the enemy army operations, similar to the U5.
They only enforce law and order around the areas surrounding warlords, grey seers and assets. This means checkpoints and better security for all skaven living in these areas, with the rest living in constant chaos. Usually it is left up to the stormvermin how to police so witch hunts and extortion is rifle so long as they maintain order.
They are often involved in clan politics being bride with money or rising up the ranks to backstab their warlord to become a dumb puppet of the clan grey seer. They might avoid policing certain areas to encourage uprisings and riots or have the progress on a task given to that warlord or grey seer undone to weaken their power by losing allies and alliances if they aren’t getting their demands met. Usually this is caused by another clan influence to encourage infighting making it easier to take over their nest. They are big, strong and dumb with few exceptions…

Hi, I'm currently writing a script for a documentary-style film and I thought of a great moment to convey hints of information without giving away too much detail. I want to have a short sequence that has the look of old newspaper snippets being shown on microfilm - but of modern day tabloids and online articles (kind of wacky and era-blending, but I want to at least try it).

Hi! I got my ears pierced at Claire's (unfortunately!) 11 years ago or so. For years I have struggled to put earrings into the holes and find myself pushing and pushing until it pops and goes through the back of the lobes, very uncomfortable.. then leaves my ears feeling hot and they are blushed. I then get uncomfortable after wearing earrings for a bit. I love how earrings look on me but I can't wear them because it is uncomfortable. Especially if I wear them for an hour or so they feel so heavy and I'm comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations?
