It's been 5 years now and I've never told anyone. When I was 16 a lot was happening in my life.. I was already pretty depressed because of the constant bullying I faced for years and I was simply just very lonely, no friends, no siblings, all I had was my parents until my dad passed away from an underlying heart condition right before I went back to school in my sophomore year. Every year was the same.. the bullying never stopped and what used to just make me just sad, led to hatred and a huge desire to get back at the ones that have wronged me over the years.. I started to become very angry, I even took it out on my mother while she was grieving too, I will never forgive myself for that.
My father was a great dad, we weren't very alike at all though.. he was the macho/sporty type and I never cared for sports, I feel like this made him feel a bit disappointed because he always tried to push me to get into things he liked at my age. After his passing I felt insanely guilty for not doing the things he wanted me to do and just not spending more time with him in general.. I started to burn/cut myself a lot to cope. My father was a huge gun fan, he owned many and had always tried to include me, I never really cared to learn about them or took any interest in it.. my anger was just growing rapidly and I couldn't stop it, I started to use his guns after school to blow off steam a lot of the time.
It started to become an every day thing and I was getting more and more frustrated with living everyday. The only thing that kept me from killing myself during that time was the fact that my mother would be completely alone, I wasn't able to do it. One day I started to jot down a hit list, when I did that, I wasn't literally deciding that I was going to shoot my school up.. but I was contemplating it a lot and my anger was growing more rapidly everyday. I assumed I'd eventually have enough and just off myself anyways so why not take the out the ones that have hurt me too? It was approaching the end of the semester and I eventually decided that enough was enough, I was going to try and give my mother one last good christmas and after christmas break I planned to do it. My mind was set, as sick as it sounds, it started to become all I could think about.. shortly after new years, right before going back to school my mom was cleaning the bathroom and found some razors I had dug out. I guess this sparked her brain so she asked me to roll my sleeves up.. it was bad, I still have big ugly scars on my wrist till this day and usually only wear long sleeves because of it. She just cried and asked me why, I just remained very quiet out of embarrassment.. she asked me if I was thinking of doing worse and I didn't give much of a direct response.. I was way too embarrassed and felt disgusting. The next day my mother admitted me to a mental health hospital. I stayed there for 59 days and revealed a lot about the anger I had, the pinpoint was my depression though. It may had not been wise at all, but I have never told anyone about my plan.. once I got on some medicine and started to try and work through the grief, those thoughts appeared less and less. I wasn't in my right mind at all. I was angry with my mom when she sent me off and even after getting out, for a long time I still felt angry about it.. but looking back I'm very very grateful. That happened at the exact perfect time, and my mom figuring that out was a real blessing.. after I got out, my mom realized it'd be best if I was homeschooled for my remaining years and that helped my mental health a lot.
God, I am just so happy that I wasn't able to act upon something so evil.. things have turned around for me a lot in the past 5 years, I still struggle a ton, but I have a great girlfriend and I even have a coupl friends.. so that's new for me. This is something i'd never reveal to someone in real life.. chances are it would just lead to abandonment lol, I wanted to let it out somewhere though.

A little context - Here we go.. my aunt who I am very close to and love dearly has a 10 year old son who is also my godson. I am a 38 year old female, married, have a 6 year old kid. I live in a under developed country and am doing quite well as per the country standard. Me and my husband both are quiet well known in our fields, making good money and we'll respected. We live in a country where you live with your in-laws, and I don't get along with them so much, but nevertheless, I don't let it bother me.
Me being me want more in life than what I already have, family and professional growth, bucket lists aside there are few things I want to achieve for myself. I want to get a PhD degree, want to build a home(owning real estate is very expensive and mortgages aren't easy to get in this country) and I want to learn dancing professionally, the last one has been in my list since I was a kid.
So a week back I joined this dance class which my daughter already goes to. I woke up early did the cleaning and cooking for the day, sent of my kid to school and then before my workday started I went to the class for an hour. I was feeling so good about this. It not only gave me physical exercise but also gave me one more purpose, some learning and excelling to do, I felt happier and more content.
Now let's come to my health. I haven't been in the best of my health for some years now. Although not consistent I try to eat healthy and workout as far as possible but still I have always been prone to infections UTI and sore throats are very common for me. I caught COVID twice, dengue once(which almost killed me) in the past two years, I had a lot of complications in my pregnancy. Then after 9 months of giving birth, I had a gallstone surgery, which generally heals in 3 days, kept me sick for 3 weeks. Last year, I had a surgery on my left foot for ACL and meniscus tear, which took me through 1 year of sports therapy. The disk on my neck has depleted and my shoulder joints are also swollen. I also recently had some lymph nodes on my neck swollen, which caused me pain, but root cause wasn't found and it subsided eventually.
Now, 2 days back while in the dance class, I jumped for a dance step and when I landed I felt like the ligament of my right foot was injured, my knee couldn't take my weight. I came back home but mid way I almost blacked out due to stress on the foot. Since having gone through a surgery already, I rushed to the doctor, doctor has asked me to rest for a week, and has said if symptoms persist, I will have to go through an MRI and have to go through the same surgery in the right foot and go through the sports therapy again. I am waiting for the week to get over, to find answers to what has actually happened to me.
I have two burning questions in my mind.
1) what makes me so weak health wise, I try to take care of my self, prioritize me, keep my self happy. Is there anything I am not doing, I should do differently. Am I pushing myself too much or should do more. What is it that is not working for me.
2) should I let go of my dreams, should I just learn to be content(I don't know how to do that), is it that I am trying to achieve too much.
I have been thinking about these things so much the past two days, thinking of not going back to the dance class is making me cry, it is my childhood dream, have cried so much with so many people in the past two days. I don't want to appear a sick or a sad person but what do I do?!

Just wanted to share with folks my experience since I never had a wax done before and did a lot of research and was NOT prepared for what the experience was like.
FYI: I'm a pretty hairy girl down there with thick curly brown hair. I'm cis-gendered, 31, caucasian, and my head hair is fine/medium, skin hair is very fine and blonde, but my pubes are a really fun coily thick. I've only had eyebrows waxed, and that was a breeze. I used to tweeze my pubic hairs below the bikini and shave the legs until I embraced the full-on bush look. I only waxed because it was free for the first time.

• It hurt so bad. Like, worst pain ever, bad. But I got a lot waxed. I didn't go totally nude but left a small spot on my mons pubis. Some areas (like inner thigh, bladder area) didn't really hurt and were kinda soothing. Like they hurt but in a totally expected way, less than a shot. But other areas (labia and closer to mons pubis) hurt more than anything I've ever experienced (including breaking a toe and also getting hospitalized for endometriosis pain [which caused me to throw up from the pain]!).
• They will wax the hairs out of your labia and on your butt (not inside your butt) for a full bikini. I DID NOT expect this! The wax sort of maybe gets in your vag a tiny bit, or it felt like that to me. Not fun, not expected, don't recommend. Leave my labia alone!
• They're gonna go over the same spot at least twice to get the stray hairs. The wax feels hotter when they go over an already waxed zone, but the ripping feels so much better than the first go around. Eaaasy peasy at that point.
• I sweat so much from the pain and shock, like through my dress and through the sheet they had on the bed for me. I was shaking when I left and sort of in a bit of a shock, forgot my water bottle twice and had to stop the girl from tryna sell me products so I could get the fuck outta there and sit down. It's been four and a half hours and I'm still a little nauseous.
• The lady who waxed me had me breathe in and then out, and on the out-breath she'd yank the wax. This was very helpful and kept my mind off the situation.
• If I had to pee I would definitely have wet myself with the pain so pee before you wax!
• Peeing now is a little weird because some of the pee wants to crawl down my skin and gets between my butt and the seat! Hopefully, that's just cos it's swollen, but I think the hairs help guide your pee down straight into the toilet, so again, really missing the labia hairs rn.
• I'm worried about ingrown hairs, so we'll see how that goes as time goes on.

So, while I probably will never in a million years do that again, I would still recommend a basic BIKINI LINE, NOT a FULL BIKINI for first-timers, unless you really want to know how horribly painful it can be. I also recommend going at least once in your life, just so you know. Or not, because who really cares? I love a big ol' bush, a small ol' bush, a trimmed bush, a non-extant bush. It's all amazing, and whatever you wanna do is incredible.

So I’ve seen a few similar posts about this same problem on the sister sub, but I think my situation is a little different. I commissioned some artwork from a very famous artist. They have a very distinct style, and it’s all based on a couple of characters they created. I have purchased at least 15, maybe more pieces from this artist through several different galleries. I once saw a sketch of theirs that I fell in love with, but it turns out that it was a piece made for their child, not for sale and not replicated.
Years later and I have now met the artist several times at various gallery showings and they were kind enough to sign pieces I had previously purchased that I had brought with me. This artist is known for being gracious, patient, and generous to their fans and the galleries they work with. A few years after that, I was still coveting the simple sketch I saw and so I contacted the gallery I purchase from the most and asked if the artist would do a commission. I couldn’t find the original sketch I fell in love with after a LOT of looking, so I described the piece to the best of my ability and even included some other work done by the artist that is very similar as an example. The sketch was very simple in that it didn’t have a bunch of stuff for me to describe. No background, just the character and one object. I specifically said that I didn’t care about the medium used, but that the situation the character should be in should be the same as the example piece I sent them and that I wanted the character to be wearing a specific hat, also the same as what was in the example piece. (The example piece just had a different character.)
The gallery told me that the artist doesn’t take commissions, but they would ask about the piece I had once seen. After speaking to the artist, the gallery told me they had good news: the artist would take the commission and they knew the piece I was referring to. That’s how I found out it was a sketch for their child and was not included anywhere in their works for sale. The gallery actually forwarded my email with all the description and example artwork to the artist.
They required half as a deposit. This amount alone was several thousand dollars. I agreed to pay the other half when I received the artwork, as is usual. I did not ask for a mid progress update because the piece I wanted replicated (essentially) was so specific, and the artist said they knew which one I was talking about. Their style does not ever change, no matter the subject. I have never commissioned anything before, and the gallery did not suggest it, so we did not have a contract. I didn’t even know that was a thing, although it makes total sense now.
Fast forward 6 months, and I just received word from the gallery that the piece is done and on it’s way to the gallery. The artist snapped a pic and forwarded it. I cannot even express how disappointed I am with it, especially after being so excited to get it. The situation of the piece is fine, but they didn’t just put the hat on the character, they changed the character! I don’t know how to explain it without identifying the character, but the artist put, let’s say certain features on their original character that changed it into a mixture of their creation and another very well known character from a major franchise who normally wears the hat I asked for. I hope that kind of makes sense. As an example, Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat wears a distinctive hat. I essentially asked for the artist’s character to wear an iconic hat, like the one from Cat in the Hat. But instead, they took their character, and combined it with the Cat plus the Hat. Like they took the tail and ears from the cat and put it on their character along with the hat. Anyway, I think it looks absolutely horrible and has ruined the character and artwork altogether, IMHO. The medium is pen and ink, so the artist would have to redo it completely.
I don’t know what to do. Who am I to critique an artist’s vision, their hard work, their creativity? I have since found a picture of the original piece that they did for their child. I like it 10x better than what I will be receiving. A friend suggested that I don’t say anything and just keep it because the artist is so famous that maybe the piece, being a one and only original might increase substantially in value, but I wouldn't know. The artist has become so prolific in the years since I first started collecting their artwork, that I don’t know if that will hold true. (FYI, I know nothing of art value, I just know what I like and I buy it when I can.) I could always talk to the gallery, who will then no doubt contact the artist, but the biggest problem with that is that the artist doesn’t take commissions, made an exception for me, and now I’m telling them I don’t like their work. I would feel absolutely terrible, and even if they took it well, I think how that would work is that I would be out my deposit at the least, and that’s a whole lot of money to lose. I don’t know if I’m allowed to sell it, and even if I am, is that morally ok? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

my best friend lets call her Sara is honestly one of the insensitive people I have met I think now. I have been nothing but nice to her and always put her needs above mine and all of my other friends. I found a college counselor for her, I got her into a summer program through my connections, tutored her for all her subjects when she needed help, called her when she was feeling down, gave her advice until 2am on how to handle her boyfriend, and made her officers for two of my clubs. Yet I have received nothing in return. no thank you, no invitations to hang out or anything. I am just her FaceTime friend: the friend who she calls when she is bored but never wants to actually hang out with. The crazy thing is she hangs out with people she always complains about to me and people who have made her cry. And me who has always been there for her when she needed to rant or help her with something is never asked to hang out. A few days ago on FaceTime I was telling her that we should hang and go to this place but only I find out the next day she asks one of her other friends to go that place. I have given up. I can't keep giving someone everything and putting so much effort when they don't give me anything but pain.
