| Just moved into our house. Not sure what was done with previous owners but just as we started to test paint we’ve noticed the original white layer is peeling off, as is our testers. Whole house is white so now I’m unsure how many walls are affected! Any ideas on what caused this? And how we need to sort it before painting ourselves (sanding maybe 🤔 )? If it helps this wall isn’t exterior and just backs onto hallway. submitted by rootsrockraisins to DIYUK [link] [comments] |

Hi! I'll start with my basics, I'm looking for an experienced and detailed roleplayer who can match my level and how much interest I put in roleplaying. I don't have plot limits to roleplay besides major character de*th, but if you do express them to me clearly to me and when roleplaying, if you find yourself uncomfortable tell me to stop what I'm doing wrong please. I usually write around advanced literate but I can go even longer if I get super into it, otherwise I really do try to match my partners length. Im okay with anything from the shorter end of semi-lit to longer end of adv-lit. I am in the GMT time zone and am not in the position where I absolutely cannot respond very often, so i respond generally consistently and atleast a few times a day. I write in third person only and do so on discord, and this is NOT a smut orientated roleplay.
Here's the OC I'd like to use for this roleplay:
Name: Lou Murphy
Age: 25
Height: 6'0, 6'5 with her heels
Physical appearance: Black hair that's thick and goes down to her lower back, green eyes, big round glasses, generally slim body and 9 times out of ten has her nails painted black. Wears a variety of clothing, but usually black calf-length skirts and tight shirts, paired with baggy jumpers and tights depending on the weather.
Personality/Background: She's the shy and nerdy type, makes an effort to keep to herself and is typically selective about who she lets into her life and heart. She's responsible, logical, neat and pretty reliable- The opposite polar of impulsive, and really keeps impulsive people in line. She has a kind nature about her regarding people she trusts and loves, but she can be stuck up and dismissive when people upset heshe generally dislikes that person or she's just upset in general.
She grew up in a wealthy household with two parents whom were doctors. They only planned to have one child in their mid 40's, and that was Lou. Lou didn't get the upmost attention and love from her parents as a child, leading her to become extremely self sufficient and develop an ability to handle herself, finances and time management extremely well at a young age. She moved out at 18, and at 20 her parents passed away in a car crash she was involved in. Lou lives with guilt and PTSD from this, regretting her estrangement from her parents and regularly getting bouts of panic attacks.
Regardless, Lou went on to college and ended up as history teacher for high schoolers. She's extremely fond of kids and teens, and loves her job as it gave her the chance to enjoy one of her biggest hobbies too, history. She lives in a small cottage just outside of town, and plays guitar and reads books in her free time. Nearly all of her walls and windows are lined neatly with books, guitars, bones, plants or historical artifacts.
I have no preferences for your OC appearance, personality and height wise as long as they're a close age to Lou because;
Plot wise, I'd like the OC's to have been childhood best friends and neighbours, the kind where every dinner was spent at each others houses, they were inseperable, constantly by each others sides and had tiny crushes on each other all throughout that time. Though, the crushes never developed anything more than just that, tiny crushes.
However, both in their mid 20's and single, they end up experimenting with each other a little just out of pure curiousity, and well, Lou accidentally ends up pregnant much to both of their shock.
I'd like to start off with Lou inviting YC over to tell him. This will probably have lots of time skips and will need a lot of us working together to make it a good roleplay. I'd also like to hear ideas and I'd like you to be specific on what youre looking for out of it and out of their relationship if you message me, though it's safe to say my preference is they develop a romantic relationship.
That being said, if you're interested, message me just general info on ur OC and how you'd like to write this. I won't respond to 'hi' or anything, and I'd REALLY prefer you don't be flimsy about your OC, it can get frustrating. At the least, I'd appreciate a little self introduction!

2023.05.30 17:46 bradengroom Evolving Authorization for Our Advertising Platform
| By Braden Groom Mature advertising platforms often require complex authorization patterns to meet diverse advertiser requirements. Advertisers have varying expectations around how their accounts should be set up and how to scope access for their employees. This complexity is amplified when dealing with large agencies that collaborate with other businesses on the platform and share assets. Managing these authorization patterns becomes a non-trivial task. Each advertiser should be able to define rules as needed to meet their own specific requirements. Recognizing the impending complexity, we realized the need for significant enhancement of our authorization strategy. Much of Reddit’s content is public and does not necessitate a complex authorization system. Unable to find an existing generalized authorization service within the company, we started exploring the development of our own authorization service within the ads organization. As we thought through our requirements, we saw a need for the following: - Low latency: Given that every action on our advertising platform requires an authorization check, it is crucial to minimize latency.
- Availability: An outage would mean we are unable to perform authorization checks across the platform, so it is important that our solution has high uptime.
- Auditability: For security and compliance requirements, we need a log of all decisions made by the service.
- Flexibility: Our product demands frequently evolve based on our advertising partners' expectations, so the solution must be adaptable.
- Multi-tenant (stretch goal): Given the lack of generalized authorization solution at Reddit, we would like to have the ability to take on other use-cases if they come up across the company. This isn't an explicit need for us, but considering different use-cases should help us enhance flexibility.
Next, we explored open source options. Surprisingly, we were unable to find any appealing options that solved all of our needs. At the time, Google’s Zanzibar paper had just been released which has come to be the gold standard of authorization systems. This was a great resource to have available, but the open source community had not had time to catch up and mature these ideas yet. We moved forward with building our own solution. Implementation The Zanzibar paper was able to show us what a great solution looks like. While we don’t need anything as sophisticated as Zanzibar, it got us heading in the direction of separating compute and storage, a common architecture in newer database systems. In our solution, this essentially means that we would keep rule retrieval firmly separated from the rule evaluation. In practice, this means that our database will perform absolutely no rule evaluation when fetching rules at query time. This policy decoupling keeps the query patterns simple, fast, and easily cacheable. Rule evaluation will only happen in the application after the database has returned all of the relevant rules. Having the storage and evaluation engines clearly isolated should also make it easier for us to replace one if needed in the future. https://preview.redd.it/oslzewmg113b1.png?width=1485&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc5c20c30bbdc56bba00906cb9012f301b823287 Another decision we made was to build a centralized service instead of a system of sidecars, as described in LinkedIn's blog post. While the sidecar approach seemed viable, it appeared more elaborate than what we needed. We were uncertain about the potential size of our rule corpus and distributing it to many sidecars seemed unnecessarily complex. We opted for a centralized service to keep the maintenance cost down. Now that we have a high-level understanding of what we're building, let's delve deeper into how the rule storage and evaluation mechanisms actually function. Rule Storage As outlined in our requirements, we aimed to create a highly flexible system capable of accommodating the evolving needs of our advertiser platform. Ideally, the solution would not be limited to our ads use-case alone but would support multiple use-cases in a multi-tenant manner. Many comparable systems seem to adopt the concept of rules consisting of three fields: - Subject: Describes who or what the rule pertains to.
- Action: Specifies what the subject is allowed to do.
- Object: Defines what the subject may act upon.
We followed this pattern and incorporated two more fields to represent different layers of isolation: - Domain - Represents the specific use-case within the authorization system. For instance, we have a domain dedicated to ads, but other teams could adopt the service independently, maintaining isolation from ads. For example, Reddit's community moderator rules could have their own domain.
- Shard ID - Provides an additional layer of sharding within the domain. In the ads domain, we shard by the advertiser's business ID. In the community moderators scenario, sharding could be done by community ID.
It is important to note that the authorization service does not enforce any validations on these fields. Each use-case has the freedom to store simple IDs or employ more sophisticated approaches, such as using paths to describe the scope of access. Each use-case can shape its rules as needed and encode any desired meaning into their policy for rule evaluation. Whenever the service is asked to check access, it only has one type of query pattern to fulfill. Each check request is limited to a specific (domain, shard ID) combination, so the service simply needs to retrieve the bounded list of rules for that shard ID. Having this single simple query pattern keeps things fast and easily cacheable. This list of rules is then passed to the evaluation side of the service. Rule Evaluation Having established a system for efficiently retrieving rules, the next step is to evaluate these rules and generate an answer for the client. Each domain should be able to define a policy of some kind which specifies how the rules need to be evaluated. The application is written in Go, so it would have been easy to implement these policies in Go. However, we wanted a clear separation of these policies and the actual service. Keeping the policy logic strongly isolated from the application logic gives two primary advantages: - Preventing the policy logic from leaking across the service, ensuring that the service remains independent of any specific domain.
- Making it possible to fetch and load the policy logic from a remote location. This could allow clients to publish policy updates without requiring a deployment of the service itself.
After looking at a few options, we opted to use Open Policy Agent (OPA). OPA was already in use at Reddit for Kubernetes-related authorization tasks and so there was already traction behind it. Moreover, OPA has Go bindings which make it easy to integrate into our Go service. OPA also offers a testing framework which we use to enforce 100% coverage for policy authors. Auditing We also had a requirement to build a strong audit log allowing us to see all of the decisions made by the service. There are two pieces to this auditing: First, we have a change data capture pipeline in place, which captures and uploads all database changes to BigQuery. https://preview.redd.it/o6ns4eap113b1.png?width=1999&format=png&auto=webp&s=280338fa432879b0a5291fc79adf7c2869fb761c Second, the application logs all decisions which a sidecar uploads to BigQuery. Although we implemented ourselves, OPA does come with a decision log feature that may be interesting for us to explore in the future. https://preview.redd.it/cg3u4vgs113b1.png?width=1652&format=png&auto=webp&s=32be73b70701587aebdd56226ee8793abd058248 While these features were originally added for compliance and security reasons, the logs have proven to be an incredibly useful debugging tool. Results With the above service implemented, addressing the requirements of our advertising platform primarily involved establishing a rule structure, defining an evaluation policy, integrating checks throughout our platform, and developing UIs for rule definition on a per-business basis. The details of this could warrant a separate dedicated post, and if there is sufficient interest, we might consider writing one. In the end, we are extremely pleased with the performance of the service. We have migrated our entire advertiser platform to use the new service and observe p99s of about 8ms and p50s of about 3ms for authorization checks. https://preview.redd.it/lzlmzduv113b1.png?width=1842&format=png&auto=webp&s=30375f739b63d5ef828196e73d9636da064eaaae Furthermore, the service has exhibited remarkable stability, operating without any outages since its launch over a year ago. The majority of encountered issues have stemmed from logical errors within the policies themselves. Future Looking ahead, we envision the possibility of developing an OPA extension to provide additional APIs for policy authors. This extension would enable policies to fetch multiple shards when required. This may become necessary for some of the cross-business asset sharing features that we wish to build within our advertising platform. Additionally, we are interested in leveraging OPA bundles to pull in policies remotely. Currently, our policies reside within the same repository as the service, necessitating a service deployment to apply any changes. OPA bundles would empower us to update and apply policies without the need for re-deploying the authorization service. We are excited to launch some of the new features enabled by the authorization service over the coming year, such as the first iteration of our Business Manager that centralizes permissions management for our advertisers. I’d like to give credit to Sumedha Raman for all of her contributions to this project and its successful adoption. submitted by bradengroom to RedditEng [link] [comments] |

I’m debating with a co-worker about this very thing. We both agree that most welding helmets are thermoplastic reinforced with fibers that help resist the heat from welding. I’m sure there are filaments that are similar in composition. Any one thing it’s a bad idea? Tell me why it is or is not a bad idea, regardless of costs or time.

2023.05.30 17:45 PalowPower Is it possible that my Sister can play sims on my PC while I also play games on my PC?
| So my Sister has a laptop and she loves to play Sims on my PC. Problem is that first her Laptop is too weak to handle sims even on lowest settings and I obviously want to play on my PC too. Now I had the Idea she could just remote into my PC with Moonlight but because there's only a single mouse cursor I also can't play. How can I solve this problem? Is there like a way to sort of split my PC into two seperate PCs running on the Same hardware? 2023.05.30 17:45 thrashRisty The game was over as soon as Tatum got hurt
I’ve been thinking a lot about the game and I think the best way to sum up what happened was this-
Boston’s gameplan was to have Tatum crash the paint on offense and draw the zone defense as much as possible, and then get open 3 looks or take the bucket himself. It’s what had been working in the other games we won this series. As soon as he got hurt, he lost all of his boost and had pretty much no ability to be aggressive in the paint. This forced other guys to try and have to fill out that role, but none of them were made for it- even Jaylen. A lot of blame is going towards Jaylen for his poor performance, which is justified, but at the same time, he was trying to fill a role that wasn’t his. This also caused Miami to be able to put more pressure on the 3 shooters, which gave us a lot less open looks. A lot of people are talking about blowing up the team, firing mazzulla, trading Jaylen, but it’s really an unfortunate event that caused this to happen. The team’s entire momentum vanished seeing Tatum get hurt. This also made it easier for Jimmy to attack on offense because Tatum couldn’t keep up with him as much.
Props to Miami still, their guys made the shots they needed to, but people need to understand why our gameplan didn’t work after Tatum got hurt. We shouldn’t be scapegoating anyone for this game- sometimes the cards just fall like that.

2023.05.30 17:44 byendurance "Lead us not to the test." What exactly is the test?
Each individual faces a trial, and the trial consists of one question. We face this trial today and every day of our life.
At some point, we all get to play the part of Pontius Pilate when he is forced to face Jesus. In the trial of Jesus, it is not actually Jesus who is on trial, but the world, and Pilate is the stand-in for every one of us.
Now, most of us know there is corruption in the world. We’ve heard all the stories of the wealthy getting away with murder (sometimes literally) and corruption within both political parties. We know of suffering and pain that doesn’t make sense. We observe many religious Pharisees acting like hypocrites and we see wealthy American Herodians being morally corrupt in every way. America, like Pontius Pilate, for all its claims to virtue, real and imagined, must confront Jesus someday and will have to decide on how to answer the test. We all get to stand like Pilate, not giving the trial, but in the chair of the defendant.
When Jesus said, “Lead us not to the test” in the Lord’s prayer, he didn’t mention that the test is only one question, and it only has one answer.
“Do not bring us to the time of trial,” is another translation. “Lead us not into temptation,” is the most common one we hear in English. Trial, test, temptation - in all cases, we ask God to help us steer clear of it. And what is this test?
We are there. We are taking the test, every day. But we only come to understand the test when we come to forks in the road, decision points in our lives. In good times and in bad times, the trial comes out to meet you. We ask God to lead us not to this test, but because of our desires we like to go looking for it, and we all find the test eventually.
How we answer this test question says everything about us. How we answer it guides our day, our choices, our feelings, our reactions, our heart, our family, our career, our evenings, our mornings, our meals. Judgment day will be so easy for God to carry out, because we answer this test every day. The test question is the one that Pilate asked to Jesus, which is ironic, because Pilate is the one actually on trial. This is the only question on the test:
“What is truth?”
That’s the whole test.
It requires a response. Not just verbally or mentally, but in our actions. It’s both an oral and a practical exam.
In our age, that single question draws many responses. “What is truth?” brings long responses, based on logic, and even illogic, with sweeping topics of historical analysis, tales of heroes and villains and victims, windy arguments, appeals to emotion, appeals to reason.
But God can stop all test-takers after the very first word out of their mouths, because the only answer he is looking for is
Jesus.
You can tell how fragmented a person is, how compromised, how scattered, how lost, by how that one question is answered. If you ask someone, “What is truth?” and they start rambling, they are the lost. Pray for them, and pray for yourself, and pray for us all, because even if we think we are not lost, that we are found, even if we answer correctly, we very likely fail the practical part of the exam, which is our lives. This is important to recognize. Even if you answered with the name of
Jesus, it is your actions in life that answer for you.
By the time you arrive at judgment, God already knows your answer. You gave it already. And anyone who claims or claimed verbally that Jesus was the truth, but rejected him in spirit, and did not actually follow him along the way, will be exposed. We are more than our mind. We are God’s instruments, with a mind, yes, but also with arms and legs. Did we just assert belief in our mind or do something about it? Did that belief animate our body or just sit boxed up in our head? There is no weaselly appeal to be made to a higher court. The Creator God is the final stop.
Like the rich man in hell who begged for Abraham to go back and tell his brothers to repent, the request will not be honored. We have had our chance. We already have been told, warned, and we choose to ignore the Creator. Even if we acknowledged that he
exists, we probably only acknowledge it like we acknowledge everything else. We grant God the same significance of other facts like existence of gravity. Gravity exists. So what? Admitting God exists is just like admitting any other fact that you might accept. Seasons change. Cats are funny. We can declare that God exists and even say that Jesus is the truth, and then we can proceed to give it the same level of respect that we give to any other fact. God exists. Water exists. Now back to cat videos. Agreement to the notion of a Creator is not the question. This is a pass/fail test, and “God exists” is an automatic fail if that’s all you got.
If you feel unsure about “What is truth?” then you are adrift. You are either in the camp of the whitewashed tombs trying to save yourself with some long-winded answer, or you are in denial, thinking that some of your sins are acceptable. If you are unsure whether you are a sinner or not, you are waffling on the fence, and that fence is electric - at some point the power is going to get turned on and you will feel it.
Don’t let anyone distract you from the test. Because it’s rather easy, when you stop and think about it. You already know the answer. (more on this
here)

I’m quite please with her general shape and look, her arms are both very different though (arms are normally easy for me lmao, but she was a pita for me for an unknown reason) and the head shape is kind of dodge. I swear I’ve done better (my very artistic friend drew a face on one of mine once… it slays so hard), but feel like sharing her rn. Her name is Sylivia! 2023.05.30 17:40 mapsappleton How are the Replublicans going to blame the Democrats for sinking the economy this time?
Clearly they are so petty and have no idea how to do their jobs. Anyone with minimal knowledge of the economy can see that the rebounds that happened were not just stimulus money but also caused by a generation suddenly having hundreds of dollars more a month. Clearly taking that much money out of circulation just to give back to banks will have a negative impact for the economy going forward. I feel the right didn't think about it and just wants to stick it to the left. I'm sure once the fall starts they will blame the dems for making it too easy to get loans to start with. I'm just curious how others feel about this and prove me wrong if I am.

2023.05.30 17:38 omasa123456 I finally ended my addictions and transformed my life. These are the principles that did it. [Advice]
As someone who struggled with a gaming and alcohol addiction for over 9 years, I know the painful impact it had on my life, yet also the feeling of being stuck continuing it. It consumed my time, energy, and focus, leaving little room for relationships or anything meaningful. Now that I'm in a much better place, I'm writing this to hopefully help others in a similar position.
In a particularly dark period in my life, I found a great therapist who helped me understand the root cause of my addiction and some ideas to overcome it. The first step was recognizing that gaming was an escape mechanism, a way to avoid dealing with real life challenges and emotions.
Together, we worked on choosing healthier coping mechanisms and strategies to deal with stress and anxiety. One was cycling with a group, another was practicing meditation to calm my mind, and also writing/journaling to recover some ability to focus.
But I was still struggling. One of the things that finally shocked me enough to cut out the games I played was actually a page that showed me the exact math of the path I was going down. It was like a visual forecast of how you'll spend your time based on your current situation. Seeing the ridiculous number of hours I would be throwing down the drain made me feel a little sick, and I finally decided to uninstall League of Legends completely. The best one was cloudburst.it, and there's another more basic version on Wait but why.
Once I had time freed up, things were much easier, and I set some targets for myself, slowly building my way up towards them. After removing the games and having something else to do, the temptations went surprisingly quick - and as I started experiencing occasional small successes, the urge to game again diminished significantly.
Now, I'm living a much more balanced life with healthier things to spend time on in place of gaming.
If you're struggling from something similar, know that change is easier than it feels. Sometimes one action can make a huge difference. Start by creating the desire to make change, accepting your current position, and ideally get help from friends, professionals, or a support group who understand the struggle. It's worth trying things like visualization or goal-setting to get the motivation to finally begin the change. It won't be easy, but man has it been worth it – not only will you regain control over your life, but also unlock new opportunities for meaning and happiness.

2023.05.30 17:36 Liloregonbug Went No Contact with My NMom, and She Had a Manic Episode
Hey all, I'm a bit of a lurker, having recently realized my mom is a narcissist. My entire life I grew up knowing about her bipolar manic disorder (fully diagnosed) but the narcissist stuff I thought was normal-ish. This is long but trying to summarize.
I started creating more and more boundaries as I grew up, and now that I'm almost 40 I finally went No Contact after she chose my ex husband in my divorce, and chooses to spend holidays with him and his new family. Now she's having her first manic episode in 7 years, and I'm pretty sure she did it because I went NC (went NC on Mother's Day after some really awful texts from her, and she went into her mania over the weekend). The flying monkeys (my brother and sister in law) were reaching out and giving me the play by play of the episode and trying to draw me in. I don't think they meant anything by it, but I had to tell them I'm NC and that I have strong boundaries in place. My brother is the golden child so he was really struggling to understand the NC and our relationship. He finally saw her full blown crazy, something he hadn't witnessed since we were in high school. He kept saying, "well it's not really mom" and I said, maybe not to you, but she's like this with me even on her meds. I was always the scapegoat.
So here's why I'm writing to you all-first, thanks for this group. It has really validated so many things that I am still coming to terms with. It feels good to not be alone, but also deeply saddens me that we've all dealt with this crap. So many of you had it so much worse, and it breaks my heart.
Secondly, I have a 10 year old son that I was allowing to stay in contact with my mother. They chose my Narc ex husband in my divorce, so he has the lion's share of the communication, but whenever my mom would reach out about my son, I would send pictures or otherwise respond to questions about him. I now recognize this was a plow to get me to communicate with her when I was low contact. Now I'm full NC, and I'm trying to decide how much interaction I should allow her to have with my son. I finally sat him down and discussed mental illness, at least in terms a 10 year old can understand, and simply said Grandma is sick and getting treatment (the manic episode ended with her on a 72 hour hold in the psych ward yesterday, this happens every time she has an episode). She has access to message him on Facebook Messenger for kids, and so I wanted him to know in case she sent him something weird. So far she hasn't. So the question to you all is, do I block her from my son's messenger the way I block her from my own social media? Do I allow them to keep having limited contact? She treats him similar to my brother, except he's the Golden Grandchild, but I fear that if he ever does something she doesn't like, she'll turn on him, as many narcs do. I'm also struggling with not feeling much of anything about this recent episode. I've only been NC since Mother's Day, so a lot of this is new. I used to support the idea of my son having a positive relationship with his grandma, but I have a lot of fears of her exposing him to some of the nightmare situations I dealt with as a kid.
I did reach out to my ex husband and let him know my mom was going through an episode, and strongly discouraged him from allowing our son to be there unsupervised. He said he already knew about it (of course! They're besties!) and said he'd never put our son in danger. However, we both agreed he could stay there last summer for a week without us, and I just don't feel comfortable with that at all. Would love some advice from you all, and a little encouragement to keep with the NC. I am preparing myself for her post mania depression/woe is me act and the flood of texts that will follow.

2023.05.30 17:33 wakeuptomorrow After nearly a year of on and off applying, I can finally say I value myself and my work
After a long 3 hour interview with 6 different people, I finally accepted and signed an offer letter!!!! And immediately sent my letter of resignation which felt amazing.
It’s been such a long road of blood, sweat, and tears to get to this point. I still can’t believe I’m finally leaving my company. They dangled the carrot for promotion in front of my face for years and always had an excuse for why they couldn’t pay me market value. I’ve been losing money for 3 years now and it was really starting to weigh on me and my confidence in my work.
After many rigorous interviews with countless companies I found my fit and nearly doubled my salary. The long distant idea of owning property feels a bit more within my grasp. I’ve always had a goal of making at least 100k before I turn 30 and I beat that goal by that and then some, 1 month before my 30th birthday. I feel over the moon and honestly can’t believe this is real.
For everyone out there applying in this dumpster fire, I wish you all the luck in this world! Go easy on yourself and remember to take breaks. Make like The Secret and manifest that shit! That seems silly to say but tbh when I started rooting for myself and telling myself in the mirror “you can fkn do this!” I felt that confidence build. It also helped to play “Let’s get down to business” from Mulan before every interview. 😂

2023.05.30 17:31 warrior_waffle looking for ideas on some names for an RPG I'm about to start running
I've always been terrible at coming up with names, and could really use some ideas for a few NPCs and what to call a new species. this RPG campaign is set in the kingdom hearts universe so that makes a lot names easy lol.
First I was messing around with digitally kitbashing some minis and created a bi-pedal hippopotamus with bat like wings, no idea what to name him or his species.
second is a very intelligent Ork who was invented a number of steampunk-esque inventions, including a prosthetic arm and a few doctor octopus type arms that come off a powered backpack he wears. But living up to stereotypes he does have a love of drink.
third 2-3 OC keyblade wielders.
I appreciate any help/ideas you can help me out with!

2023.05.30 17:31 BlueWitchGames Need artist for slightly cartoon-ish castle drawing to be used in a game. 100-200$ range
EDIT: Had to put this up again because I used a no-no word. I hope it's fine I double post. What I wanted to stress is that I am not interested in A**I generated works, please. I know what it looks like.
Hello!
I need a drawing of a castle in the 100$-200$ budget range. It's going to be used for navigation purposes in a game, so it's preferred that the style has nice, clean lines that makes the division of floors easy to spot at a glance, while of course still being nice to look at and having a few details that are just there for flavour. A sort of flat, clean shading is preferred.
I can't link the likely angle and composition here, but think a bird eye's view of a castle.
Payment through paypal
*WARNING*: The game does have NSFW elements. I completely understand that not everyone is comfortable with this or want their work associated with something like it.
Thanks for reading!

2023.05.30 17:30 BilledConch8 Comparing 1 vs 2 stage compressor
Hello new friends!
I am looking for some help choosing a new HVAC system for a house we recently moved into. It's a 2-story, ~2400sq/ft home with 2 HVAC units (Gas Furnace) that are about ~17 years old and in need of replacement. I've got quotes from 2 solid installers that are very similar in price and reputation, but I'm not able to decide. I'm not asking for feedback on the quote itself, as I understand those posts are not very popular, but instead I want to get feedback on the type of systems we're looking at and if one is the clear front-runner or not. What it really comes down to is 1-stage compressor with a lifetime warranty, or a 2-stage compressor with 10yr warranty. I'm still not sure where I land on the Heat Pump choice, but Gas seems to be the better option as we'd have to run new wiring to accommodate the HP.
We have solar panels on the house and efficiency is a high priority. We are located in NC, USA, so the summers can get pretty warm and the winters are fairly mild. From what I understand the installewarranty matters more than the actual parts being installed, and I see these installers as very similar.
The first installer recommends Trane and quoted us for several variations, with the Gas Furnace/2-stage AC being the front runner. They also come with the option of 48-month 0% financing which is very attractive. They're a large regional company, not as large or easy to get a hold of as the other installer, but still very reasonable. They did the original install when the neighborhood was being built.
The second installer recommends Goodman/Amana and did not quote us anything for heat pumps or a 2-stage compressor, they went up to an Amana version of the Daikin FIT for variable speed compressofan. They said the price of the variable speed was more than the 2-stage with current Amana discounts. They also come with the option of 18-month 0% financing, and have been incredibly patient + easy to reach for any questions. They're a larger regional company and have many techs employed so getting someone to come over quickly isn't a concern. They offer a lifetime warranty on the AC compressor.
Both installers offer 10 yr parts+labor warranty, lifetime warranty on Heat Exchanger (for Gas Furnace).
Bundle prices for 2 units
Installer 1 (Trane) | | |
| Gas furnace w/2-stage AC (XR16 series, 16 SEER) | $25,700 |
| Dual Fuel w/2-stage AC (XR16 series, 16 SEER) | $29,000 |
| Heat Pump w/2-stage AC (XR16 series, 16 SEER) | $26,600 |
Installer 2 (Goodman) | | |
| Gas furnace w/1-stage AC (16 SEER) | $25,000 |
| Gas furnace w/variable stage AC (17 SEER) | $31,000 |
Feedback I'm looking for:
- Does the lifetime warranty for the Goodman 1-stage compressor bring it to equal footing with the 10yr warranty of the Trane 2-stage compressor?
- Is the 2-stage compressor expected to have a longer life than the 1-stage, and so the lifetime warranty isn't as important?
- At the end of the day will the total power draw be about equal between Goodman and Trane Gas Furnace SEER16, as they have the same SEER rating?
- Is a Heat Pump unit worth it? I hear conflicting remarks on cost/ROI/efficiency and am inclined to stay with Gas as I know that works.
