I know this is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to play unrated and still get comped a hotel room without having to play rated/show ID?
I’m a relatively new card counter and I am taking peoples advice to not play rated for future longevity reasons. However, I’m making a trip to Philadelphia, PA soon for non-casino related activities and was possibly hoping to get some table hours in on the good PA games while I’m in town. Ideally would like to get a comped room while I’m there too if I can.
Any thoughts on how I should approach this? Or if it’s even possible to get a free room without playing rated/showing ID?

To begin the party and I were imprisoner in a single cage by a band of marauders we happened to piss off during our journey the party of 5(Half elf cleric, Tabaxi monk, Human Rogue, Human wizard, and finally me a Dragonborn Barbarian). over a few sessions these marauders studied us and struck while were were sleeping. Most of us awake up manacled at the hands and place in a large cage the guards were smart and bound the spell casters with special manacles that covered the hands and gaged their mouths. The monk was still out-cold and the rogue needed his lockpicks to break the locks. Unfortunate for me I was also one the special prisoners as I woke up with not just my hands bound but I had this iron muzzle locked to my face that kept my mouth (almost) closed. I being a white dragonborn I hatched an idea and this is what happened.
I called for a guard and begged him to give me a drink of water and after rolling a successful persuasion check he pored a ladle of water trough my teeth but didn't swallow. The guard locked the door behind him and left, and by that time I spit the water into my hands and proceeded to pore what's left into the lock as I cupped my bound hands around the lock and used my ice breath to freeze the water inside and *PoP. I unlatched the muzzle and told the rest of my plan to the team and put the muzzle back on and stashed the broken lock. Next the cleric begs the guard to let her go to the bathroom and so he unlocks the door and begins to take her to the bathroom but before they could get out of the cage I smashed the back of his head with the manacle's tied to my wrists and went for the finisher.
I stood on his chest as I took off the unlocked muzzle and pulled a subzero and use my breath attack on his face and stomped his head into a pile of bloody slush (as the DM described). We grabbed the lock keys from the body and unlocked ourselves and proceeded to fight our way out. This entire caged encounter lasted about 30 minutes but it felt soo good that it worked out the rest of the session was spent grabbing out gear and fighting our way through and abandoned outpost until everyone was dead. we grabbed anything useful and carried on our journey like this ish happens regularly.

Now that he is comfortably retired, a member of the 700 HR club, 3 MVPS, 2 rings, one of the greatest players ever...can we talk about the second half of his career?
Seriously what happened? The first 10 years of his career was fairy tale stuff. A slash line monster that hit for power and got on base at will. As soon as he goes to Los Angeles, its like he is a completely different player. Injuries play a role, New ballpark, age, ect but the drop off is a very noticeable contrast, and the fact that his sub par years soanned Just as long as his prime.
I legitimately believe there was some kind of mental thing between Albert pujols and hitting. Something about the Cardinals or St Louis, or something. His last year of his career, back with the Cards, was better than any year he's had on the angels. In a very respectable 351 PA, Pujols put up slash stats (OBP/OPS/SLG) Higher than any of his Angels years. With 24 HRs at that same pace, puts this season more along the likes of his cardinals prime, instead of a 42 year old who hasn't been himself in a while.
Or maybe I'm just insane because Albert Pujols has been my favorite player since I was 5 and I need validation that it wasn't that bad. Lol.

I've got Batcera installed on my SD card for my Steam deck. I'd like to format the SD card and delete Batocera but on format disk in Windows there's no option. When the SD card is plugged into my PC it does not display. Tried formatting on steam deck it fails. I must not be the only one to experience this, what's going on?

I bought a Nintendo switch about 3 months back and bought Pokemon violet and shield.
In my country, Nintendo switch online and e-shop are not supported. I recently found out that Pokemon home can be used to trade Pokemon violet and shield exclusives to complete the pokedex.
I can see that Nintendo switch online is not needed for transferring Pokemon or trading Pokemon from home.
But all videos on YouTube I went through needed the e-shop to download home on the switch.
Is there anyway to setup Pokemon home on the Nintendo switch without the e-shop? I am desperately trying to complete the dex on these games and have already given up because of the version exclusives and the paradox Pokemon.
Any help would appreciated.

Idk if someone made this list na. A quick search in this sub did not yield the results I was looking for.
To preface this: Yes, we can study in our dorms / houses. Minsan talaga, we need that change of scenery when studying, especially during the height of exams season. Plus, hindi lahat may rooms na always conducive for studying. I am of the opinion na okay lang twice or thrice in a semester mag-study outside (arbitrary numbers).
Some of the cons that keep me from studying out are:

• SAFETY. I lived in Cebu since college (2015), so di na ako new sa environment. Pero with news about gun shootings sa cafe (to be fair, I'm only aware of one during college, pero schoolmate ko kasi ang victim so it hit closer to home), I have my reservations. PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF YOUR SAFETY DIN, can't stress this enough. It's a scary world.
• My chair sa room is so comfortable, my desk is wide and tama ang height. Well-lit din because lamp.
• Sadly, since the pandemic, parang shiny rare Pokemon na ang 24-hour places :(((
• Mas mahirap umuwi at night because less na ang jeeps that ply the road. Truly missing the pre-pandemic time vis-a-vis studying out and 24-hr places.

• For USC students, okay mag study sa library. They adjust their operating hours depende sa demand. Bring jacket!!! The library has a small retail corner (library and bar ops) where u can buy instant sachets ng kape, biscuits, candies, ordinary medicine like biogesic na you don't need prescription for, papers, pens, highlighters, drinks, may water dispenser for hot and cold water, may 7/11 across the street. If you prefer, be friends sa blockmates mo, order kayo sa Grab for food and coffee, share sa delivery fee. There's wifi but mahina sa library. You can mobile hotspot pero parang mahina ang Globe din there. Stay safe and vigilant pauwi at night.
• Library in your school / university if meron and conducive for studying. Take advantage sa binabayaran mong tuition. Plus, if you need to more references, chances are may books available kasi nga library: this dawned on me a little too late.
• IT Park has a lot of study places.
  • My favorite in undergrad was Krispy Kreme (coz hello donuts and relatively cheaper coffee) and Bo's Coffee yung near sa Jollibee/Chowking. Closed na ni nga branch sa Bo's, I think? No wifi na yata ang KK and di na 24 hours. I forgot when siya mag-close. Baka open pa ang Bo's Coffee branch in the same bloc where Krispy Kreme is.
  • Recently, may Dunkin Donuts na but they close mga 8 PM yata? For sure walang wifi. Idk okay lang mag-aral there. Takeout ka na lang ng kape.
  • Starbucks near the louvre triangle thingy na closed na today and near Sugbo Mercado. Closes like 2 AM as far a I know. Madaling mapuno. Don't finish 2 venti espresso-based coffee in a span of 4 hours before your big exam. I think no outlets? I haven't seen any. There's a Starbucks near Krispy Kreme/Jollibee/KFC din, pero I haven't tried.
  • Civet Coffee, pre-pandemic hanging 4 AM yata sila. Small tables, small chairs. Idk, my friends liked it there.
• MangoSix. Salinas Drive. Parang gusto ka na nilang paalisin sa lamig ng AC nila. I don't think you know what is cold before you experienced MangoSix cold. Bring jacket. Maybe may times na it won't be as cold. They have wifi. Contrary to (my) expectation, they don't just serve mango stuff, hehe. Limited outlets.
• Idk if Cafe Talk in Escario St. is still open for studying. Poor cell reception inside. Last time I was there was in undergrad, they have a box-like set up: you're inside a cubicle na sa sides ang opening so may ceiling ka, you squat inside like a Japanese would for meals. They had outlets per cubicle back then. Idk now.
• Bo's Coffee near Cebu Doc. I haven't tried, but I always see med students study here.
• Dunkin Donut, Fuente Circle. I think 24 hours sila, pero when I was there, they had to close at like 2 AM kasi they have to clean up, mag-open again in a few hours. For sure open na sila by 6 AM kasi I used to get my coffee there before I go to work. No outlet. No wifi. Love their coffee. Cheap, strong, good taste.
• Tom N Toms. Idk their operating hours sa new na location nila at 88th Avenue. Con is tuyoon kayo siya murag di for students and convenient lang if naay kay car? FOR ME. Back in undergrad, I studied sa branches nila in front of SM City Cebu (APM mall) and yung near sa Greenery. Okay study atmosphere. These 2 branches are already closed na today, sayang.
• Bo's Coffee sa Ramos, I haven't tried studying here. Saba daw here based sa naka-try. I think maraming med students here since near siya to medical schools. Maka-order ko sa foodpanda at dawn so I think 24 hours ni.
• Starbucks Colon, closes by 8 PM I think, small area. Madaling mapuno. May outlets daw but limited. The baristas are kind.
• *Dunkin Donuts, Colon - under construction pa I think, but may tarpaulin sila showing Dunkin, Idk when mag-open, high hopes for this place.
• Starbucks - BPI Ayala. I love it here sa morning kasi wala masyadong tao. Jazzy, quiet, chill vibe. Mapuno late in the afternoon, becomes noisy, closes at 12 AM I think. Their staff is accommodating and approachable. Poor cell reception sa Globe. Wifi is gosurfwifi.

If possible and you're lucky enough na you can have them in your space, get a comfortable chair with back support, a wide desk na appropriate say ang height, and a good lamp. This saves you the trouble of going out. SAFETY FIRST. Pa-deliver ka na lang ng kape.

We just got back from an Alaska Carnival Cruise and it went fine until Security overstepped and began questioning my wife. The day before my wife was playing a slot machine and the woman next to her pulled her players card out and walked away. About five minutes went by and my wife cashed out on her machine and move over to the next machine where the woman was. My wife inserted her card and loaded her bank to the machine. Before she even did her first spin, the woman came back and said that my wife was a thief and stole her money. My wife was shocked and immediately said if there was money on the machine, let's go to the casino manager to get it straightened out. They went to the cashier and the woman got more angry and told my wife that "she was going to cap her ass"..implying she had a weapon on board?? Casino staff asked her to calm down and stop threating my wife. The staff immediately reviewed the history and moved the $700 that had been left on the machine back to the woman's players card. We were disturbed by the exchange since it was the woman's fault for pulling the card and walking away. My wife had no idea that any money was on the machine. The next day, Security called my wife and asked her to come down to the office. My wife saw the woman there and said hello. The woman didn't respond and then she left the Security office. Security staff told my wife that the woman is pursuing the theft allegation and that she filed a complaint and that they would present the case to authorities. My wife wrote a statement with the above details and after about 45 min, my wife had me come into the office. Being in law enforcement, I said right away, that there is no intent on the part of my wife for any theft charges and they agreed, there was no intent. I asked if they had all on video and they said they did as the woman walked away from the machine for 5 minutes. They expressed concern that the woman might pursue litigation. I asked for a case number for tracking and they responded that they would get that to me the next day. No case number was provided and Security never contacted us. So, why did my wife get called to the Security office, because the Security Staff don't understand this type of situation because they aren't Americans. They should have taken the woman's complaint and in so many words, told her there is nothing here, you got your money back, and no crime was committed and should have never contacted us. We are so frustrated with the way this situation was handled we won't travel on Carnival again and canceled cruises booked for December and next March 2024.

I visited Paris in mid April and bought from Gucci. The sales associate completed my VAT forms (Planet Payment), I scanned at the VAT kiosk at the airport and everything was all good. I keep checking the status on the Planet Payment website and the status says it’s as processed but still haven’t received my VAT refund. I contacted Planet Payment last week and received this response today -
“Thank you for your mail.
I have checked our database and can confirm that we have received your Tax Free form for your purchase in FRANCE DS successfully. The Tax Free form has been processed, but unfortunately we do not have any credit card details to issue the refund to you.
In order for us to complete the refund for you, please send us your credit card details. For security reasons, we request that you send the number divided across two emails.

Has anyone ever had this happen with Planet Payment? Its very odd to me. Thank you!

Every Tuesday I play magic with 4 of my friends. We each picked up a commander deck with some saved money, but to me being in a rough financial spot my best friend gave me a simic commander deck about 2 months ago. I love the deck but compared to the others they bought its ramp for land and counters is insane. Not to mention its full of token generators.
So the main problem is ever game we play on Tuesday ends up a 1v4 for the first 40 to 50 minutes then they duke it out. Does anyone have any ideas on how to defend against the odds or survive. I thought about taking good cards out of my deck or buying new ones to better my odds. Unfortunately though I'm not Mr. Moneybags and am living paycheck to paycheck.

Hi!
I'm a fairly new player. So far, I've tried building decks with a focus on ramping and playing big creatures, but none of them have been very successful. I thought I would try something more focused on card interactions, sustained play and drawing, and Baba Lysaga looked like a very fun Commander.
I started with this list and did my best to keep it viable while avoiding the most expensive cards. This is the result. The idea is to accumulate ressources and chip away at my opponents' and their life by gaining more than I lose with Baba Lysaga while gaining a comfortable amount of life. I will ask the people I play with if basic lands can count as proxy for snow lands, but I don't think that will be a problem.
I wanted to get feedback on the deck and look for ways to improve it before commiting to buying it.

Hello, this is a very specific question to my situation but I'm not sure where to ask - I was asked for documents for verifying my state of residence on the TMDSAS and I missed that I needed my driver's license. Unfortunately, I have not yet exchanged my former state's driver license for a Texas one (working on it now). Would it be possible to use a temporary driver's license when I receive one after my appointment, or do I need to wait 2 weeks to get the physical card in the mail? My main basis for being a Texas resident is having worked in Texas since October, so I submitted my paystubs as soon as I could. I just would like to get my application verified as soon as possible to get secondaries - any help is appreciated, and I did let my residency liaison know the situation - I also understand if this not the right place to ask, thanks!
