I have been asked to make tattoos for one night at a queer event the upcoming summer. This will be my first event tattoo session. The locale is a bit difficult, as the interior space is a houseboat with limited space. I can not bring my tattoo table/bed. I can however bring my workstation, as it is small and portable. Any tips/experience with these kind of event setups? It still needs to be comfortable both for me and the clients, even if the flashes are small and quick to make. Also interested to hear overall experiences about tattooing at events

Okay, so this is more of a... fun conversation I was having with my mother, we are both really into harry potter, and I had this thought cross my mind as I was walking through a jewelry shop that had the triangle with an eye symbol as a logo.

Is mostly an inside joke between my mother and I now, and I wanted to share our crazy idea with the world, see what people could add, and make perhaps a mock conspiracy.

I live in Arizona, and we have enjoyed a gloriously rainy winter and early spring. I've kept my weeds under control, but my new (<1yr) rental neighbors have let their backyard weeds flourish into a truly incredible density. There's a little mini habitat for birds and critters next door and it's actually cute in a wild kinda way.
As any Arizonans know, however, with shade and overgrowth comes scorpions, spiders, and other pests - even with regular pest spraying, their insects are absolutely going to come into our property. Not to mention fire hazard when the summer heat desiccates the entire wee jungle.
[Backstory: I've stepped on a scorpion before (while literally watching Spider-Man: Homecoming with absolutely zero manifestation of super powers), and it sucked. One of my indoor cats has been stung twice in the past several years, the first time it was pretty bad - vomiting, crying, and shivering (she had recovered by the time the emergency vet got us in). The second time was much more mild, but I don't want to put my precious girl - or my foot! - through that again.]
So I asked my landscaper this week to peek over our stone wall into the neighbor's yard and give me an estimate of what he would charge to clean up the wilderness next door - he quoted me $250, which is much lower than what I was expecting.
I now have this handshake quote and my landscaper's cell number, but I don't have my new neighbors' contact details yet - so I was going to write them a "waddup neighbors, I got an estimate for two fiddy and here's his number, oh and I'm also real sorry for being so presumptuous" note.
My question is... would I be the nosy asshole neighbor fussing about a yard that isn't my business, even with the insect/environmental risk? Should I perhaps talk to the HOA and let them sort it out with the rental company so it's all business? Or would a (hopefully) friendly non-Karenish note be... okay? I want to share the option and the cost but in a respectful, helpful neighbor kinda way - not a fussy shit neighbor who's crossing a line by worrying about other peoples' yards (even though I'm mostly worrying about spillover into my own yard/house).
I have a photo of their back yard and my note, but I don't want to break da rules by linking out to an external image. It's a glorious weedfest, but it would honestly probably only show that I'm a nosy prick taking pictures of my neighbors' yard.

Idk if this is the right place to post. I have a data set of timestamps with data for each timestamp. I need to cross reference each timestamp with another program to see if it matches or not. Problem is there's are 1000s. My task is to test enough to deem the batch passable or not.
I know there is a math problem similar to this where there is a batch and someone can't test each product in the batch but test every nth or a random x% of it to say that it is most likely passable.
I don't need to this, but it got me thinking what would the optimal solution look like.

A few years ago, I was involved with someone who I met on an online dating app. It was one of those relationships that was mostly online because it was long distance. It got to the point where I was really uncomfortable and removed her from all my social media over time. Even after doing all this, she would still message me and ask if I was still with my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I were together for 3 years. Eventually her and I broke up and my ex seems to have had a spam account following me on instagram and found out we broke up.
She made a new I.G account and tried following me again. At this point, I am so done with this. It has been 4 years and she is still not getting the hint. I am uncomfortable and creeped out. I blocked her account and she sent me a text asking why I blocked her. She has crossed every single one of my boundaries and had no respect for my relationship. I finally went ahead and bluntly told her to stop contacting me and to move on with her life. She didn’t take this well and I harshly told her that I don’t want to be in contact with her now or in the future and to essentially close the door on us for good because I will never be interested.
I felt justified in saying this, given that she had crossed my boundaries on numerous occasions. Some of my friends said that I was too harsh and should have fluffed it up a little more. I was being nice and polite for 4 years and it didn’t work. I feel bad because I was the first woman she ever spoke to. I don’t want to have left any emotional damage and I’m starting to feel a little guilty. Was I in the wrong for this?

I was on cross country skis trying to go up a hill and I slid down backwards. When it happened earlier with my brother he put his hands on my back to push me up the hill, but then the next time my dad was behind me and he used it as an opportunity to grab my ass while he pushes me back up the hill.
I repeatedly yelled at him to not put his hands there and to put them on my back instead, first he ignored me and then he got offended that I yelled at him. He tried to punish me for yelling at him so I said “oh you’re that fragile?” and that worked. Hi i think i saw a post regarding this here one time but i couldnt find it so i will make a new one. There is a not so common type of shoulder injury that volleyball players are more prone to suffer where your infraspinatus muscles wastes due to nerve injury.
I will post an extract from a post on the volleyTalk forum because its explained so well:
Suprascapular neuropathy, also called infraspinatus syndrome, or "volleyball shoulder", is an injury to the suprascapular nerve, causing atrophy (wasting away) of the infraspinatus muscle, which is one of the 4 rotator cuff muscles, located just below the shoulder blade. It appears to be caused by repeated powerful overhead spiking and serving motions and only happens on the dominant (hitting) side. Sometimes the nerve injury is due to compression by a ganglion cyst or by an enlarged ligament (both of which can be identified on MRI), or by a narrowed bony (spinoglenoid) notch under the shoulder blade (which can be surgically widened). These can compress the nerve, and these entrapments of the nerve can be reversed surgically.
More often though, in volleyball players, it appears that the nerve is just damaged by repeated traction during forceful overhead hitting and serving motions. Some athletes present with shoulder pain but most are asymptomatic except perhaps for noticing some weakness and/or heaviness in the arm. The first photo is of a pro beach volleyball player (identified as a former world champion) with atrophy of the right infraspinatus muscle. The second photo is of a 17 year-old indoor and beach volleyball player with the same atrophy on the right side. Both had no symptoms, except weakness of certain movements on the dominant side. The infraspinatus muscle is primarily responsible for external rotation of the arm and cross body movements. So if you bend your arm 90 degrees at the elbow and then try to rotate it outward against resistance, you will be much weaker on the side of the atrophied infraspinatus muscle. And if you do cross body pulls starting from above and away from your body, pulling down across your body, that will be much weaker also.
One group of medical researchers went to a pro beach volleyball tournament in Europe and got 84 pros to be examined and have MRI's. They found 30% of the athletes, including the one whose photo I attached, had infraspinatus atrophy in their hitting shoulder and marked weakness in external rotation on that side. Many of them were completely unaware of it. They compensated with their other rotator cuff muscles and continued to play at a high level.
For athletes who are found to have a RECENT development of supra scapular neuropathy, Xray and MRI can rule out a cyst or other structure compressing the nerve. If the athlete has shoulder pain, doctors will often operate. Even without a cyst or other ligament compressing the nerve, some surgeons will operate to widen the bony spinoglenoid notch that the nerve travels through, so that the nerve is not pinched during powerful overhead movements. If it is not felt to be a surgically reversible condition, then a course of physical therapy for scapular stabilization/mobilization and rotator cuff strengthening, can be helpful. From what I have found, it sounds like the muscle atrophy is usually not reversible if it has been present for 6 months or longer.

Now besides making the information more available for players who didnt know, i suffer from this injury although not diagnosed completely i have visible atrophy and weakness on my right shoulder. Aside from this i also have a slap tear and will be getting surgery sometime this year probably, i think most of the pain comes from the slap tear but im not sure.
Is there anyone who suffers from this or knows experience by their teammates? Im a bit scared knowing that if you have suffered from this for a while there isnt a way to fix the atrophy. Im not asking for medical advice im already working with a few doctors i just want to hear everybody experiences.

General Republic Automated Repair and Recovery Station #4413A

Republic of United Systems controlled Shoal Zone

The AI aboard the automated repair and recovery station whirred to life as an unknown power source appeared on the extreme edge of its sensor range. It was faint. Attenuating its sensors to best determine exactly what had just entered the same galactic backyard as it, the AI went about its usual business of self checks, log dumps and traffic updates. All of this happened in a nanosecond of being awoken. A few more nanoseconds passed as the information gathered by the finely tuned sensors determined that the engine source nearby was extremely unstable and in need of assistance. It pinged the supposed ship, but no registration information came back. Since it was an AI, it had no feeling of urgency or error. It parsed this information like it did the rest; it put it into the “new” part of its systems and began the process of firing up a repair drone. It would charge whatever it was for its repairs, and if services were refused, the drone would return.
Two minutes after the unknown power source was detected, a repair drone was zipping its way through the cold vacuum of space. As it got closer and closer, a better picture of what the power source was and its purpose became clear to the ai. It was a ship, but it wasn’t a ship it had ever encountered, or a drive system it knew. As the drone got closer and closer, it picked up several signals, all of them foreign. The ai cross checked every known Republic and Solidarity signal, and any other that had been used in the last several years. Nothing came back as a match.
This set off some flagged responses programmed into the ai. First, it sent out a system wide drone update to look for the power source anywhere else a General Republic Automated Repair and Recovery Station was. It took less than 2 seconds for every single station to get the update. Meanwhile, the repair drone finally arrived at the location of the source. The view from the camera was that of an ad-hoc conglomeration of several different pieces of metal and asteroid flung together to make a ship. As the drone approached, several organic signals emanated from the ship. The camera was picking up Space Bugs.
The ancient warp engine of the Zartaxian Hive Hauler shunted the ugly ship roughly through space and time, bringing it to its randomized destination. It’s Zartaxian captain had no name, just a job, and that job was to find stuff. Unlike the others in his race, this Zartaxian was a drone caste, only bred for one purpose; to go out, find, and die.
After several random jumps into the deep darkness of space, This one was finally doing a very good job of the finding part. On its sensors screen, a ripe and juicy stable power source sat, alone and so easy to take. The Zartaxian had ordered its other hive members to general quarters,ordering the ship to approach whatever it was out there. However as soon as they had arrived and determined their target was safe to scavenge, something broke away from the power source and headed toward them. Whatever was heading their way was also a new power source, and very stable.
The Zartaxian had determined it was a smaller craft. Not worried as it did not seem hostile(nothing was happening other than the single craft heading their way) the Zartaxian ordered some Cold Vac members to go and bring the drone aboard. A dozen cold vac Zartaxians floated out of the bug ship toward the drone. As they approached, the drone turned away and started to burn toward its home. A few of the cold vac Zartaxians were obliterated by the sudden activity from the drone they were heading toward. This angered the Zartaxian. Ordering those still outside in the vacuum back to the ship, the Zartaxian was determined to bring back whatever it could to the Hive Station. It send out a “Happy/Find/Treasure” sensation through his ship, and ordered his crew to chase the drone down.
The automated repair drone had determined that whatever it had been sent to try and assist was not anything to offer its services too, noted the organics floating closer and closer to it, turned and began its burn back to the berth. Alien, not alien. To the drone and the Automated Repair and Recovery nothing was out of the ordinary. Just a ship that it couldn’t repaiextort out of money. Interest lost. As the drone began its return, the Station noted that the ship was following it. All attempts at communication with the ship had failed, and the Station was sending out an automated distress signal to the General Republic Station Control Center.
The on duty Control Center Engineer noticed an automated distress signal alarm had appeared on the SCADA systems log. It had happened 10 minutes ago. The Engineer puzzled over this, as every alarm that ever generated would ALWAYS show up in big yellow letters on the screen, along with in the log.
The Engineer scrolled through the log to try and see what happened. He wasn’t overly concerned about the distress signal, as it was probably something wonky with the ai. Typing a few commands, the log appeared on his screen:

The Engineer was puzzled over the info in the log. Whatever the Station had detected wasn’t a ship, so the drone it sent out came back.
“Whatever it was that it detected followed the drone back. Huh.” The Engineer said. The Station itself hadn’t broadcast any other alarm since. Acknowledging the alarm and putting it out of his mind, the Engineer went back to staring at the multiple screens on his desk.
The Station had determined that there were Organics floating around it, as whatever ship had arrived nearby had approached. It was close enough that the Station was now broadcasting on all open channels for the ship to depart its zone of control. Nothing replied. The ship seemed ignorant of its pleas, as the first Zartaxian cold vac member began dismantling the massive open gantry space station, the entire crew of the Hauler now out in the cold harshness of space, breaking the station down piece by piece.
The ai did not know it was dying. It was losing functions across many of its systems. It was sending out alarm after alarm, but nothing was coming back from the Control Center. All it could do was that, and wait.
Big red letters popped up on The Engineer's screen. This time he tore his attention away from the Gogtubeok app open on his OptiLens and read the alarms as they happened.

This startled The Engineer. Something was tearing Station #4413A apart. He looked around the cool, dark office that was the General Republic Control Center and sighed.
“What was the procedure for this again?” The Engineer said, opening a drawer and pulling out a thick, dust covered book. Sure things were electronic, but a lot of information wasn’t stored like it was back in the day. The Engineer was old school. Blowing off the cover of the thick novel like book, the words “Control Center Uncommon Occurrences Procedure” were printed in gold leaf lettering. The Engineer cracked open the tome, and flipped to a certain page.
In flowing cursive were three sentences:
“In case of strange or unkn. Alarms from any station, dispatch Station Patrol to investigate. Dispatch as soon as first alarm comes in. Could be rampancy.”
The Engineer furrowed his brow. This was an old book, so he knew that there had been plenty of changes in the use of ai on the stations. It certainly wasn’t rampancy. So the second part of the advice sucked. The first made sense to The Engineer. So he closed the book, put it back in the drawer, and closed it.
He typed a few words on a small terminal, and sent out a dispatch request to the closest Station Patrol group to investigate. Patrol Group Theta-Hart acknowledged the dispatch, and The Engineer sat back. His job was done, for now.

Sorry in advance for the wall of text!
First off: The amount of viewers an esports event gets is obviously somewhat correlated to the amount of people playing that game. Wow won't reach the viewer levels of the top games, but I still think there's room for opportunity. I'm not crazy enough to think that wow will become THE esport to watch, but I love wow and figured I'd spark a conversation!
I’ve watched almost every single arena tournament dating back to the MLG days (with an exception for a few during Legion), and with the huge amount of abilities/cooldowns that exist nowadays, I think the viewer experience of tournaments has lost some of its touch.
Personally, I think one key problem – possibly THE key problem – is that it’s very difficult to get a sense of progression when watching wow arenas. I.e. it’s very difficult to understand when a game is about to end, even with the commentators (who I think are great btw). This used to be somewhat less of a problem back in the days, when there were fewer overall cooldowns in the game and the “filler spells” weren’t just fillers; those were your main spells, causing the flow of the game to be more steady. Sometimes it came down to mana, sometimes it was a great cc chain / cross cc, and sometimes it just came down to the healer not being able to keep up with the damage (in a less bursty sense than today, generally) – but you had somewhat of an idea about when a game was about to end, for the most part (there have always been exceptions). In today’s game, it does get a bit better when getting to hear the players’ voice comms, but I know that’s not typically an option in tournaments due to language filters, tactics and more.
In CS, League, Valorant and similar games, the progression is crystal clear. Even as someone who has never played those games, it’s very easy to follow along and you very easily understand when there are hype moments. Similarly, I know when I need to make sure to pay attention/watch, and when I can go afk for a bit. And while those are obviously very different games than wow fundamentally, I think wow could try to tap into that a bit too.
BGs do this well in terms of the progression, but I think 10v10 is just a terrible format for a good viewer experience; there’s way too much going on. MDI makes it somewhat easy to see the progression too, but it’s just not the same when teams are in different instances and not directly going up against each other (i.e. it’s not pvp).
Moral of my essay (or book) above: What if wow had a different type of 3v3 format? I wouldn’t want to call it BGs because I think people already have preconceived opinions of BGs (both positive and negative), but something along those lines. Pvp island expeditions in BFA had potential, but there was too much pve involved and the maps were too big IMO (and I’m sure there could be better formats for a new 3v3 experience than the “azerite collection” style). And I think it has to be 3v3, because things are likely to get difficult & overwhelming to follow if you make it a 5v5 (due to the overall complexion of the game and its abilities vs something like CS).
Especially with the rise of solo shuffle and the (at least current) decline of rated 3v3 arenas, I think now would be a good time to start experimenting with something new for rated 3v3. I personally don't know exactly what that format would look like, but I'm sure there are others who would have ideas.
