Nat Fyfe is undoubtedly a top-two Docker of all-time, while Michael Walters tucks in just behind in the top-10.
Some eyebrows were raised when the duo were given two-year contract extension by the club over the bye week but their names above are synonymous with Fremantle and I believe their new deals work on all levels:

1. Loyalty: To have these champions locked down will eradicate inevitable scuttlebutt around them leaving. It shows player-club connection. I love it.
   
2. Leadership and depth: In 2025, when this squad is in its sweet spot, Walters and Fyfe may well be players 12 to 24 on the list and the heavy lifting will be on the shoulders of others. Their cameos, role playing and invaluable leadership will complement the make-up of the 2024-25 Dockers.
   
3. Belief: Fyfe’s recommitment indicates his strong belief in the trajectory of this team. Fyfe is driven by team success and he hasn’t personally played in finals since 2015 after missing last year’s drought-breaking campaign with injury.
   

Suitors for Fyfe across the next couple of seasons would have been apparent, in particular clubs feeling they are in the premiership window. To remain with a club with only the two finals matches in the past seven seasons indicates belief.

Fremantle was one of the most active players in the 2022 trade period with Luke Jackson the headline act.
Now that the teething process has been completed, he is showing that he will be a game changer for the Dockers.
With the recommitment to Fyfe and Walters, it would suggest involvement in trade periods beyond this season will likely be more limited. It also plants career mortality on other tremendous servants to the Dockers since the 2017 rebuild began.
Four players who have been instrumental in developing the next wave in their own positions are Joel Hamling, Travis Colyer and Nathan Wilson and Matt Taberner.
A unique nature of professional team sport is that you develop and assist players in your position that will eventually take your spot.
Hamling has battled injury over recent years.
A premiership Western Bulldog in 2016, he is now acting as depth for Alex Pearce and Brennan Cox and more of a break glass in case of emergency player that has had great influence on the development of Cox and Luke Ryan.
Colyer has speed and skill. Similar to Hamling, he has developed players such as Lachie Schultz and Michael Frederick. Both have gone past him in 2023.
There is room for another speedy small forward in the Dockers front half but it would seem the commitment to Walters may compromise Colyer beyond his current tenure.
Wilson has been passed by Brandon Walker, Hayden Young and Heath Chapman.
Taberner is the one with more potential to remain a Docker through until 2025.
He has been the mainstay key forward since the retirement of Matthew Pavlich and while his form is often sporadic, there will be teething issues around the Dockers other inexperienced key forwards in the next 24 months.
Jye Amiss, Josh Treacy and Jackson are still raw in a position that can swallow young players whole.
Taberner may act as the patch work to assist and regularly cover when one or more of the above are misfiring.
That is of course if he doesn’t seek more guaranteed opportunities elsewhere.
The situation of Hamling, Colyer, Wilson and Taberner is a vulnerable position to be in at an AFL club. Depth of character is tested in these moments.
And as for the gaps coach Justin Longmuir will look to address across the next two seasons?
In the best 22 for 2025, Matt Johnson looms as a threat to the current midfield pole acquired by Jaeger O’Meara.
O’Meara, into his 30s by 2025, may become vulnerable.
The role of Blake Acres from 2022 is another I’m pinpointing as needing to be filled.
Liam Henry hasn’t been able to grab a hold of that spot and finds himself in the WAFL at the moment.
Henry’s talent is evident and if he can’t break into the Docker’ side regularly in the back half of 2023, he may be wearing alternate colours next season.
Jeremy Sharp at Gold Coast is the WA winger that was targeted by Fremantle in the 2022 trade period.
Still out of favour at the Suns, Sharp is a real watch on his landing spot in 2024 and beyond.
Ethan Hughes has handled the role well for large parts of 2023.
Every decision that is made at this time of year has domino effects in AFL clubs.
The Walters and Fyfe extensions are the right call. The dominoes will fall as the list management team mulls over their next move.

I meant to post this earlier. Anyway, after my first oil change, I reset my trip calculator to see what sort of milage I would be getting. The reset was April 26, 2022 so it will run to April 26, 2023. Here is what I got:
17,811 kilometres driver, and gas usage at 2.0 L/100km. This works out to 11,067 miles and 118 MPG (141 MPG Imperial). That means I purchased about 356 litres of fuel, or about 94 gallons.
Going into the winter months my numbers were better, but obviously during the coldest months I need to run the heat. Also included were several longer trips requiring gas. I used the PHEV as it in intended - pure electric unless going on a longer trip and anytime it's too damned cold.
My previous car was a 2016 Ford Focus - it never got close to the advertised milage. I was at 9.7 L/100KM or 24 MPG - so saving me about 1,370 litres of fuel purchases (about $2,500).
Today, curiosity got the best of me, and I had to do about 25km (16 miles) of in city driving. I used HEV mode the entire time, getting 4.1 L/100KM or 57 MPG (US). That's fantastic - especially since this drive took me about 50 minutes with the AC blasting. I hate wasting gas though, but I've been on the same tank for over 2 months, including some long distance drive, but I really need to get through the rest of the tank...

I was driving on the highway in the middle lane and turned on my blinker to get into the right lane where there was no traffic in front or behind. There was a civic that was 3+ car lanes behind me and as I was switching lanes I saw their rate of speed was way higher than mine. They rode up to my ass and started honking and flipping me off.
I'm in an older SUV and they are in a new Civic. I just kept driving since the lane changed already happened.
At the first moment they could, they whipped around me in the center lane then cut me off in the right lane and brake checked me after cutting me off in the right lane.
The brake check resulted in all the things I had slamming into whatever they hit as our bumpers touched. Literally just soft enough contact to be like, "fuck". They pulled over and jumped out and started yelling and I freaked out and didin't pull over since I'm not insured.
They took pictures ect since traffic was sporadic and either wide open or fully congested. At this point OFC it was congested.
I'll take whatever tongue lashing is involved with my indiescretion of not having insurance. We all have our own stories and I'm just trying to make it through life. I was just trying to get home from a long day of work.
I'm posting this because I know I fucked up and should have stopped and I want to know what to do/say at this point to make things right. Also what not to say. I'm typically verbose and tend to overshare when asked for details.

I have a 2016 fleetwood expedition 40x and just today replaced 6x6v batteries. Old interstate gc2's were weak (7 years ) and it was time.
New ones are Deka GC15's 230ah, pretty much a direct replacement. Everything seems to be working but my charging display has been showing absorb only an never goes to float.
Is this a problem? Display always showed float unless batteries had discharged quite a bit on the old gc2's

I have a 2016 ford escape. Noticed after a wash what I thought was just some dirt is actually a few spots near the edges of he front end/ hood where the clear coat is coming off. Are their any suggested products to cover the spots where it is happening? Should I consider a total repaint before I end up with rust? I live in wisconsin and we use a lot of salt in the winters if that helps with suggestions. Thanks!

I payed for a carfax out of pocket because it seemed too good to be true, last reported km on was in 2016 and it was 152000. 15k in 7 years seems really low, I’m worried the odometer was rolled back Regardless Toyotas go for a while so I’m not sure if it’s that big of a deal.
Note the 2016 reading is the only other reading no other reports done before that
Other issues is minor rusting around the car and some pretty severe rusting on the front driver side fender, I took it on a test drive and found the following issues
An oil line is leaking, front rotors are worn, rear drum pads probably needs work, saw slight leak on one of the ac line, clunking from the back seat probably bad stabilizer links and when we tried to start the car the first Time it wouldn’t crank, it was also ok very low gas and never had issues starting after that.
I have till the end of the week to decide if I take it and I don’t know if it will be too much trouble or if it’s worth the price

Friday night I was involved in an MVA. I was stopped at red light & proceeded through an intersection when it turned green. A woman in a Hyundai ran the red and t-boned my car going at least 60km while I was going <20km. She hit the front right wheel area crumpling it. The car would still turn on/off but I couldn’t move it so it had to be towed. Her car also had to be towed as her front bumper was hanging off. Luckily a third vehicle involved had dashcam footage. My neck & knee hurt after the accident but not enough to go to ER. Police were also called. I filed an accident claim with my insurance as soon as it happened and an adjuster called me Monday morning. She said the Hyundai was deemed at fault. For reference I live in NS, Canada and I drive a 2010 Honda Civic EX-L 2DR Coupe with 270,000 km. The car was purchased less than 3 months ago from a family friend so it is very new to me. My insurance doesn’t cover collision but it does have compensation. Meaning when the other person is deemed at fault I’m owed compensation from their insurance company for a rental car, any repairs to my car OR the value of my car if it’s totaled. So I was told the next steps are to verify she has a valid insurance policy and then I’ll get a rental and we’ll see if my car is fixable. I can’t imagine my car being fixed based on the damage so I’m worried they will offer me a low value for my car. Does anyone have any insight what amount I should expect for a car in that condition? The market is crazy right now so I’m worried they won’t offer me enough for a new car. I’m really devastated as I loved my car even though it would have only lasted for another few years.
Also, my knee pain has radiated into hip pain so I am going to the clinic tomorrow incase I need to get physio via insurance.

I’m looking to get my first car and I found a Ford expedition (eddie bauer sport) with a little over 97k miles for 3.7k. This is at the lower end of the blue book value in my area, so I’m considering getting it, but I’m unsure if I would be reliable. I understand a 20 year old car won’t be perfect by any means and might need some work done, but I’m mainly worried about the transmission and engine of this vehicle. I don’t know how reliable they are so if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.
I understand vehicles like Hondas and Toyotas are more reliable, but I’ve been looking at cars for over a month with no luck. Any Honda/Toyota I find in my budget (roughly 4k) is either 250k miles or more or has massive issues. Which is unfortunate because I was really set on getting a car from one of those brands, but the tax on those cars where I live is insane.

Like the title says, I'm nearing two years at my first IT job and I am starting to reach an absolute breaking point. Or maybe I've reached it already. This is my first office job, so I'm just really not sure where things sucking ends and me being lazy begins. This is going to end up being ranty, but I'll try to stay on topic and give a TL;DR at the end.
At any rate: I got into this job, which is at an academic institution, after spending about a year or so teaching myself programming during the pandemic and eventually reached my "find a job or go back to working food service" point and took what I could get.
My responsibilities include general web development and support, but primarily focus on Drupal 7 to 9 migrations. The support I receive on this front is nonexistent, and between how poorly built the D7 sites are and how bizarrely built the D9 theme we're locked into using is, I cannot figure out a way to expedite the migration process beyond manually recreating every single site in Drupal 9 and even then the Drupal 9 theme we are locked into using, lacks functionality to even meet our basic use cases.
I've expressed my frustrations and troubles to my boss, and at times it's unclear if he's even reading my messages or emails. On top of this, I am responsible for over 200 websites. On top of that, the various stakeholders in these sites come to me with very unrealistic demands and turnarounds, and although I have asked my team lead many times whether I'm able to tell people no or stand firm on my work boundaries/scheduling needs (to which I have yet to get a clear answer), I still find myself unable to really effectively tell anyone no.
It has gotten to the point that I regularly work through weekends and find it very hard to actually step away from things at the end of work day. In the past week I have had two, absolutely miserable, screaming-into-my-mattress breakdowns from stress and frustration. I can no longer bring myself to do any work--emails checking up on things, incoming tickets, whatever else, all make my stress levels spike to the point I feel like fainting.
Making matters worse, I find the work utterly meaningless. Even if things worked smoothly, it still bothers me that our Drupal 9 theme is absolutely dogshit. I do not feel good doing my job. I cannot help our users when they encounter bizarre, limiting design choices within the theme. I have floated the idea of creating something else that would satisfy use cases on my own, and even have a working demo of such a project, but there's literally no pathway for improvement. We are stuck with what we have.
So...yeah. I don't know. Is this normal? Should I bail? I can't take this anymore and I've spent the past two days this week ignoring emails that aren't urgent and playing Street Fighter on the clock. I feel pretty hopeless, and while I don't really want to go back to food service, I'm just not sure what paths forward I have. I know I should probably find another job, but I worry my 2 years of experience are utterly meaningless, because the most I've actually done at this job is run some find and replaces with regular expressions and run a few shell commands.
TL;DR

• Nearing 2 years at first IT job
  
• Self taught programming during pandemic, took this job because I needed to get income
  
• Work is D7 -> D9 migrations; all attempts to automate this process have failed. Migration process is still largely manual copy/paste of content from D7 to D9. I manage 200+ websites.
  
• Stakeholders in sites I support have zero awareness or respect for my boundaries. Boss provides no support, often ignores my questions and requests for help.
  
• I have had two breakdowns in the past two weeks due to work. I have worked through the past two weekends and regularly find myself working past 5pm or on weekends. Attending to work matters or reading emails spikes my stress levels so high to the point I feel faint.
  
• The job is not fulfilling. The Drupal 9 theme and configuration we are stuck with using is dogshit, and even if the migration was streamlined, we would run into unsolvable issues.
  
• This fucking sucks. Is this normal? If not, what can I realistically do?
