I’m so tired of this reporting system used in Apex Legends. There are so many reasons why you would report something, like sabotage or early quitting the match, especially in ranked. But… there is no action taken upon these kind of players.
Why is respawn not taking any action on this? I only get reporting confirmation when I report someone for harassing.
If you are not willing to ban people because of unsportsmanlike behaviour, don’t provide us with any of these reporting options!

2023.03.21 21:50 benadrylpill I don't understand combat in this game

So I've been playing switch axe and have gotten to HR7 and I simply don't understand the flow of combat in this game. Monsters move around SO MUCH that i can basically get one or two hits in any any given time except for when the monster becomes disabled. I know this game seems to focus on a hit and run tactic, but it seems like overkill. My damage uptime on monsters is absurdly low. Not to mention the fact that my survivability is TERRIBLE. I'm getting two shotted at HR7. I am using upgraded high rank armor, and have plenty of nice skills at lvl 3: evade extender, power prolonger, and rapid morph, to name a few. I still feel ineffective.
I'm seriously not understanding something about this game. Switch axe is fun when you can actually do things with it, but it's not fun when all I do is get two axe or sword swings in and spend 5 minutes rolling around the battlefield. Switch axe doesn't feel like a switch axe, it just feels like I'm swinging a stick because I have so few windows of opportunity to do anything.
What am I not understanding here? Can someone please help me figure this game out?

I've got to hand it to the Excelsior, they've succeeded in creating probably the most bizarre roster in Overwatch League history, a strange combo of the 2022 Outlaws, Dynasty, Titans, and a few CAH players thrown in there so the AndBox execs can act like they actually care about women and minorities. It's gonna be really interesting to see how this Frankenstein's Monster of a roster shapes up, especially with the rumor that they don't even have a team translator.
It feels like someone forgot to tell New York that they were supposed to be a budget team, since they went absolutely crazy with their support signings. Four players is the most any team in the league currently has signed to a single position. The good news for NYXL fans is that the team actually remembered to sign a Main Support this season; two of them, in fact! Lep is coming over after spending the second half of 2022 on the Houston Outlaws. Lep is a pretty good Lucio player so it's a little disappointing that we didn't get to see more of him on the Outlaws. Overall, not bad. Additionally, the Excelsior also signed Halo. Admittedly, I haven't really kept up with Halo’s performance after her 2020 season with the Boston Uprising. While that was certainly not the best year, we've seen plenty of players take a brief detour back into Contenders before coming back stronger in the league: just look at Mikeyy from that same 2020 Uprising team, who helped the Shock reach Grand Finals this past year. With all that said though, from what I know Halo is primarily a Lucio player as well and I feel like her overall hero pool has a lot of overlap with Lep's. I really hope this is more than a PR signing because I would hate to see Halo ride the bench the whole year.
Whew, this team has so many Supports I needed an extra paragraph break! Let's talk Creative. Another transfer from the Outlaws, Creative has been a pretty interesting player since his debut in 2020. His Ana play was instrumental in helping the Seoul Dynasty reach the 2020 Grand Finals, but ever since I feel like he's been pretty average overall, and particularly his performances on heroes not named Ana leave something to be desired. This isn't a bad signing but it leaves a lot to be desired. Finally, New York grabbed Aniyun as a second Flex Support. I'll be honest, there are few instances when making these threads where I genuinely have never heard of a player being signed, but this is one of these instances. This young Chinese-American rookie has had a pretty short career playing for a couple of NA contenders teams including Wisp, and also won the CAH Challenger's Cup with Altiora Artemis. Aniyun was teammates with Halo on that CAH roster so there is some preexisting synergy, but beyond that I don't know enough about this signing to make any real assumptions.
Alright, we're done talking about Supports, I promise! Let's talk about tanks! Actually just a Tank, and the same Tank as last year with Kellan being the only player returning from New York's 2022 roster. Kellan did not have the best season, but I really don't know if it's fair to pin the blame on him. There was a ton of issues with New York's support lineup (the 3 Flex Supports incident), and additionally they seemed to be forcing Kellan onto off-meta picks like Zarya in stage 1 and Ball in stage 2, despite many of his comfort heroes like Winston being optimal picks. Kellan got done dirty, that's non-negotiable, but that fact of the matter is that the team around him didn't really get much better over this last offseason. I'm rooting for the Kellan redemption arc as much as anybody but if the pieces weren't there last season they're still not there now. I also have to once again bring up the rumor of New York not having a translator, as having communication issues with the Tank could be a major problem.
Finishing up with the DPS for this team, it's another really strange lineup. FITS is the player that is probably going to raise the most eyebrows when people see this on-paper roster, since he's been a very solid player for the Dynasty over the past 3 seasons. FITS is an experienced veteran Hitscan who doesn't necessarily take over games, but can certainly contend with some of the upper-tier Hitscans in the league. Shockwave and Seicoe were also brought on. After this duo left the Vancouver Titans pretty early in the season, they went back into contenders with some decent success. I praised Seicoe as an underrated gem last offseason, and that clearly didn't work out, but I still think there's some potential there. Shockwave as well has always seemed like a player with a ton of talent that just consistently gets shoved into awful situations (2020 Titans, visa hell on 2021 Fusion, randomly getting dropped from 2022 Titans, etc.). I'd love to see this lineup succeed but it's just not looking good for anyone on this team. At this point I think Shockwave might actually just be cursed.
Messy. Unorthodox. Volatile. These are apt words to describe my mental state after my DPS goes negative for the 4th game in a row, and also happen to be some great descriptors of what I think of the 2023 Excelsior. This team looks like an absolute mess, and while talent-wise they should be above teams like Vegas and LA Valiant, I'm afraid their volatility could drag them down into the bottom tier.

Ah, climbing ranks in League of Legends… It’s a difficult and sometimes frustrating journey. But it can also be funny. Let me tell you a story about it.
I was playing a ranked match and was doing very well. My team was winning and I was confident that I would finally climb up in rank. But then something unexpected happened.
One of the players on my team disconnected. We tried to keep playing without him, but things got increasingly difficult. And then another player disconnected. And then another.
In the end, I was the only player on my team still connected. I tried to bravely fight against the opposing team alone, but it was in vain. We lost the match and I didn’t climb up in rank.
It was frustrating at the time, but later I laughed at the absurd situation. Climbing ranks in League of Legends can be difficult and unpredictable, but it can also be fun.

Hey all, I'm back this year with your weekly recap and preview posts. Between another kid, finishing grad school and getting promoted at work I'm a lot busier this year than I was last year, so there's a non-zero chance I have to abandon this project at some point, or at least scale it back a bit, but I'll keep it up as long as I can because I like doing it.
In addition, I was planning on doing a season preview series, but I was called up for a month of reserve duty in the army and was unable to get that done. It's also a difficult task because it would require keeping a tight watch on roster moves for the whole league because team rosters aren't finalized until right before the season. So this first edition of my power rankings will kind of serve as a short preview for each team.
But anyways, on to this week's games. As usual, I would love to get other people's opinions about the games and players.
Arizona Rattlers (1-0) @ Quad City Steamwheelers (0-1) 60-53
The opening game of the season didn't disappoint as we saw the perennial powerhouse Rattlers take on last year's championship runners up Steamwheelers in a game that came down to the wire. Both teams traded scores for most of the game until late in the fourth when QC turned it over on downs and Arizona was able to capitalize and go up by two scores, effectively sealing it with a minute left. Both quarterbacks were electric, each throwing for 4 touchdowns and running for another 2 on the ground. Also of note- this was Jarrod Harrington's first game with QC, playing against his former team, catching a td and rushing for another.

Frisco Fighters (1-0) @ Green Bay Blizzard (0-1) 76-30
This game was actually pretty close for the first quarter, until Frisco scored 39 unanswered points and effectively sealed the game before half, by picking off Green Bay quarterback Jarome Johnson twice in the final minute of the half. Frisco looks like they haven't missed a beat since last year, with TJ Edwards as efficient as ever, not turning over the ball and rushing for 6 touchdowns on the ground. They didn't appear to be missing my favorite running back, Justin Rankin, who left for Bay Area in the off season. Jerminic Smith returned as their number 1 receiver, and defense was able to grab 4 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. As for Green Bay, their defense looked nothing like the force they were last year. Losing numerous start defensive players, including rookie standout linebacker James Brown probably didn't help. As for offense, last year's starting QB Jack Sheehan left for the NAL, leaving GB scrambling to find a replacement. They started the game off with rookie Jarome Johnson, who is built like Marquise Brown. He had some decent designed QB runs, but was wildly inaccurate throwing the ball, and was eventually benched in favor of fellow rookie Max Meylor, who was also terrible. The only player who really looked like he was even trying was WR Steve Newbold.

Power Rankings
  1. Arizona Rattlers (1-0): The Rattlers appear to be set to continue dominating the West. They didn't lose any key players apart from Kyree Woods, but they are stacked at defensive back anyways. They added start defensive lineman Ulric Jones from the 2022 champion NAZ Wranglers. And most importantly, they've still got two-time reigning IFL MVP Drew Powell leading them.
  2. Frisco Fighters (1-0): Frisco's offense is electric, with so many weapons at their disposal, the most important of which is quarterback TJ Edwards. Last year he and Blake Sims spit snaps fairly evenly throughout the first half of the season, but Edwards proved to be more careful with the ball and is a bit more agile. Honestly, he has a fair chance to win MVP this year is he can repeat last year's performance over an entire season. He specializes in throwing on the run, but also has games where he'll score 5-6 touchdowns on the ground.
  3. Bay Area Panthers (0-0): Anyone who followed the league last year might do a double take when seeing BA at the 3 spot, but anyone who followed the transaction reports this off season shouldn't be surprised. Their biggest move was probably bringing on Dixie Wooten, a former championship winning head coach, as their offensive coordinator. They then signed and traded for players such as LB Darin Hungerford, RB Justin Rankin, QB Dalton Sneed, WR Carlos Thompson, and more. Look for them to be this year's worst to first team, a la 2022's NAZ Wranglers.
  4. Quad City Steamwheelers (0-1): Quad City got off to a slow start last year, but was reenergized by the return of EJ Hilliard and were able to make a run for the championship game. This year, they bring back a strong offensive line, and most importantly EJ Hilliard for the entire season. Their core offensive weapons remain the same. Their big question mark this year is the defense, which was slightly below average last year.
  5. Massachusetts Pirates (0-0): The Pirates' strengths remain the same when compared to last season. Quarterback Alejandro Bennifield is super dependable, but last year missed time due to injury. They have a very deep receiving corps, including one of my favorite players Thomas Owens. They also built upon what was already one of the top defensive backfields by adding former Green Bay cornerback Momodou Mbye, who was one of the top at his position last year. The biggest change for Massachusetts this year is their head coach Rayshaun Kizer leaving to coach the Omaha BEEF of the CIF, but he is replaced by the Pirates' offensive coordinator, Mark Stoute, who has a ton of experience as head coach in the indoor game across numerous leagues.
  6. Sioux Falls Storm (0-0): Ok ok, I know some of you will call me a homer on this one but hear me out. Sioux Falls has brought back Storm legend and hometown hero Lorenzo Brown, who led the Storm to a championship in 2019. Brown played sparingly in 2021 and not at all in 2022, but if he can return to 2019 form he will elevate a Sioux Falls team that, while losing some key offensive playmakers (Carlos Thompson, Aaron Dilworth, Nate Chavious) gave its defense some much needed additions in All-IFL linebacker James Brown, defensive lineman Kyree Campbell and retaining 2022 IFL sack leader Undraez Lilly.
  7. Duke City Gladiators (0-0): 2021's passing leader Nate Davis got injured in the Gladiators first game last year, but that hardly had any impact on one of the most electric offenses in the league. They have what is probably the best WR tandem in the league in IFL legend Dello Davis and freak athlete Jared Elmore, in addition to Gregory Dent who scored touchdowns last year in all phases of the game. Now, Nate Davis is back and should lead this team to new heights.
  8. Vegas Knight Hawks (0-0): Vegas was wildly inconsistent last year, cycling through quarterbacks like marshmallows. But this year Daquan Neal has made the move from Tucson to Vegas and should give them a huge boost. Neal is a former MVP and championship winning QB from his time in Iowa, who also had a tryout with the Colts last year and was signed for a short period of time to the USFL. However, we saw Neal's play decline a bit in the latter half of the season, so it remains to be seen if he can return to form. He's got some good weapons, and I am personally pretty fond of WR KD Cannon. The Knight Hawks also have Kony Ealy on defense, who some may remember from his time with the Carolina Panthers.
  9. Iowa Barnstormers (0-0): The Barnstormers roster remains largely unchanged from last year, for better or worse. Quarterback DJ Peterson had some really great moments last year, but also some duds. It seems like when he gets just a bit of pressure on him he collapses and forgets how to pass. Maybe he will be a bit cooler in the pocket with a year of experience behind him. The Barnstormers were able to take advantage of a mediocre Eastern Conference last year and snuck into the playoffs, but I can't really see that happening again.
  10. Tucson Sugar Skulls (0-0): Tuscon is kind of an unknown at the moment. They lost head coach Dixie Wooten and star QB Daquan Neal, but have brought in 2022 offensive rookie of the year Ramone Atkins from Duke City, but questions remain if the new head coach can fix Tucson's god-awful defense from last year.
  11. Northern Arizona Wranglers (0-0): NAZ were the worst team in the league in 2021, going 1-13, but turned it around in 2022, adding a ton of talent and winning the IFL championship on the back of a fierce defense and solid offense led by Kaleb Barker. Now, he's no longer on the team, and the Wranglers have hemorrhaged key defensive players as well, such as linemen Ulric Jones, defensive player of the year Jaquan Artis, Darin Hungerford and more. The main positive they have going for them is head coach Les Moss, who should be able to keep this team from being the worst in the league.
  12. San Diego Strike Force (0-0): Are the Strike Force even still a team? Do they exist? You wouldn't know it from their website, which is still promoting highlights of their last win from the 2022 season. It's hard to tell what's going on with this team, but with no real splash signings, it's hard to imagine they've made a big improvement over last year's team.
  13. Tulsa Oilers (0-0): Tulsa is an expansion team, so we don't have any baseline to go off of. The one thing I can say is that their QB situation is not great, and they will need to decide between Giovanni Sanders, who sucked it up for a couple games for Bismarck last year, and Bobby Froehlich, who was pretty unspectacular for the Rapid City Marshalls in the CIF last year.
  14. Green Bay Blizzard (0-1): So Green Bay has the unfortunate disadvantage of having already played before writing my week 1 power rankings. I won't go too much into it at the risk of repeating my game recap, but any redeeming features they may have had last year (defense, mostly) were nonexistent this past game, and their QB situation is a nightmare. Osu/League ranking system
I was curious to know what rank I would be in Osu! If it used League’s ranking system, so I decided to make this list, distributing all* players from Osu! into League’s ranks. I know someone did this 5 years ago, but the table is outdated. There are way more players in Osu! right now so I thought this table needed an update.
*I say all Osu! players, but I only started counting from 200pp and above (so 1 400 000 players), since most accounts below 200pp have just a few hours or even minutes of playtime. (The average playtime of a 200pp is around 10-20hrs). Also, in League you must hit level 30 before you start playing ranked, so counting players from Osu! with 5 minutes of playtime would be unfair.

It takes around 150 hours of playtime to hit level 30 in League, but I started counting from 200pp players, which on average is 10-20hrs of playtime. It might sound unfair, but I don’t think so, because in League it takes ages to learn all the basics while Osu! is literally just aim and click game, therefore instead of learning 600 abilities, players start practicing and improving immediately, so I think it’s fair to start counting from 200pp.
Also, there are still a decent number of inactive players at around 200pp and even above, but so there are in League of Legends, so I don’t think it impacts the data negatively.
% of players is official (kinda, varies a little by website, but more or less accurate) data that shows actual League players' distribution in all ranks.
By the way, sorry if anyone made something similar not long time ago, I didn't notice.

A new Camp and Chill Event starts today!
This 2 day event will run from Tuesday, March 21 until 19:00 GMT Thursday, March 23, and is open to all players with version 9.7.0 or above, a minimum of 250 dragon power, and a stable and reliable internet connection.
Points are earned by tapping items, opening chests, and other simple tasks completed in Camp. The Event Capsule Store appears after earning 500 points; free Bronze Capsules containing Event Points can be collected every 3 hours after that.
