During my first year of university, I experienced severe depression and health complications as a diabetic and as a result of family problems also. I turned to gaming to cope with my low mood and escape from other problems. However, my excessive gaming led to failing my second year of university. I hid this from my parents for years, but my sister eventually found out. While my parents were supportive, my mother seemed disappointed and opposed to my gaming.
Over the years, I have reduced my gaming and improved my academic situation. I play games only on free days and without major obligations. Recently, I quit my job before a family trip, and with extra time, I played games excessively. My mother became upset and banned me from gaming, threatening to break my PC. I complied.
Two months later however, I was eagerly anticipating a game release, "Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom," but I realised I was still under the ban. Despite asking my mother about it, she insisted that all games, including non-PC ones, were off-limits. However, I ended up impulsively buying the game using my own hard earned money . My siblings want me to return it, but I'm reluctant. I am currently working full time and not idling at home. Given these circumstances, am I in the wrong (AITA)?
Note: I have been restricted from using the internet past midnight for three years, and I haven't mentioned it in the post as I am a broke uni student living in my mother's house, where her rules apply. I've also tried a lot of different hobbies but nothing has stuck like gaming.

DLBC dx and have not started R-CHOP yet. Was not jazzed on doing chemo at all but due to a colossal fuck up in my care, it's 100% needed. My tumor was growing out of the back of my head and splitting my skin. It was removed and now I have a quarter sized hole on the back of my head (near ear)that won't heal without chemo. I've had a really hard go getting any kind of care and am now on my 2nd oncologist. Everything is a battle to get done (referrals, etc.).
People in my life keep telling to think positive and expect the best outcomes. I've tried that and clearly it doesn't work for me. People in my life are insistent it will. It hasn't (repeatedly!) and I've given up any beliefs I had about that. I also 100% believe (for me) that I have done something wrong to someone or something which has led to me having cancer. I am not religious or anything at all but it's just what I believe in my heart. I don't think that's the case for everyone but absolutely for me.
I have so much internal rage and anger and sadness. Therapy is not on option due to my job. I have a security clearance which will be rescinded with any mental health issues. I have to leep working to pay insurance. Also support groups are not my jam. I don't want to he around myself right now, let alone other people.

I’ve been having some major issues with my energy levels and it’s hurting my relationship. To give you a quick rundown: I’m 33, I’ve been on hrt for almost 2 years now, my levels are good, I’m taking vitamin d supplements because I have a deficiency. I recently started Vyvanse for adhd and recently got a cpap for my sleep apnea. I work a pretty physically active job that can be stressful due to the responsibility that comes with it and I find that at the end of the day I have to really push myself to get anything life related outside of work done. I’m absolutely exhausted and just want to switch off when I get home, but that puts too much on my partner. I do what I can, but it’s not enough.
My figuring myself out and coming about 3 years ago was pretty traumatic and I basically broke mentally before I accepted myself and started transitioning. My partner has been super supportive this whole time, but she says I’m different now, like the silly fun, easy going part of me that was there before is missing. I can see what she is saying to some extent. Those feelings are still there, I’m just exhausted all the time and feel like I am just in survival mode all the time and don’t have the energy to be the expressive clown I was before. I feel like I’m taking steps to improve myself and become more of a functioning member of our relationship, but it’s not enough and most days I feel like Artax in that scene from the never ending story where he’s drowning in mud.
It’s super frustrating because I want to be better and throughout my whole life anytime I’ve been dysfunctional I’ve basically just had people frustrated with me and been told not to be dysfunctional and to do better. Has anyone had any success in working past this constant exhaustion?

I'll start: in my language (Dutch). The books are called Huis van Aarde & Bloed and Huis van Lucht & Adem, which are quite literal translations of the English titles so I would say they did a good job translating. What I do find interesting is that they did not translate the name Crescent City - that one stays as is, even in the running text. I wonder why that is because it can be translated easily. The translation would be Sikkel Stad, which also alliterates and sounds pretty cool. I wonder if they did this so it's easier for readers to find international content related to the books online? What a,re your thoughts on this? Was it also kept Crescent City in your language, or did they choose to trI find it interestinganslate that term?
I know I could also just run the titles through a translator machine, but this is more fun. :)

The Petraptor, a waste of Dementonite Clusters and time, they require time and attention, if without they will starve or get lost due to a breach in the sub. Petraptors are dumb and stupid they are very useless, annoyingly noisy and is a waste of precious materials such as saline and dementonite, all they do is poop and eat while being extremely horrible at defending and attacking; in addition they have weak stats and die easily, offering nothing but liability and frustration, especially in single-player campaign.
Petraptors must become TRAINABLE like dogs and have growth milestones to provide impact in the game and crew especially in late-game and PvP; I demand, that the Petraptor must have commands and have talent skill trees for learning talents while equipped with equipment slots for raptor-gear or equipment in order to provide the Petraptor with formidable power and ability to become a late game exploration explorer-hard-carry.
In order for the Petraptor to be revolutionized the following must be implemented:
•Basic Features -The owner must get a new hotbar available on the interface that lists commands for Petraptor to follow.
-Commands should have hierarchy, for example: protect owner, this commands must override other existing pending commands.
-The Petraptor should have radio equipment communication slot available to fill in in order to transmit commands over long distances, though some commands should be left unusable over great distances, some commands should have range limits.
-The Petraptor should have talents in order to get new skills and be able to learn to heed more commands and expand A.I.
-The Petraptor should be teleported beside the owner whenever docking and saving in an outpost and it must trigger a follow the owner command automatically, to avoid losing the Petraptor.
-The Petraptor should have collar slot and collars that can be equipped similar to head equipment slot of human entities, that serve as I.D to enter hulls with manual pet sensor modification.
-The Petraptor should have growth stages, each stage require materials, and each stage should give it more abilities, natural armor, stats, etc. To balance this hunger should increase as well.
-Stations must sell monster meat that a player can use to feed Petraptor and unique food items can give unique buffs and debuffs to Petraptor.
-Petraptors should have health interfaces, however it can only be accessed by an owner, medic or an assistant, to further balance the Petraptor medic and owner are given a -70% efficiency on using medical items on Petraptor, unless it is a assistant giving aid to the Petraptor.
-The Petraptor should have weapons slots to be filled in with weapons that can help them capture or hunt prey and fight bigger monsters, with each different types of weapons providing different uses such as: piercing, grappling, wall climbing, blunt force trauma, stun, bleeding and decapitation.
-The Petraptor should have artificial armor equipment in order to better protect them in combat against a swarm of monsters and bullets as well as grant them extra speed and slowness in land and in water similar to the Slipsuit.
-The Petraptor must have a talent than will enable it to crawl between small spaces or just dash through em to provide mobility in land.
-The Petraptor must have a talent to mine ores and commands to make them breach walls like a boarding axe.
-The Petraptor should be able to be genetically modified.
-The Petraptor must never get lost, refer to the outpost teleportation mechanism above.
-The Petraptor could have an equippable brain chip that can be connected to handheld sonars in order to improve efficiency of the device.
•Combat Features
-The Petraptor should have a talent on grappling it should have two different types that will be used for bigger enemies and smaller enemies. Grappling should neutralize humans effectively and it should only happen when Petraptor sprints and jumps them like a xenomorph, it must immobilize humans and kill them my biting off their hands though effectiveness can be determined by talents, such as a hit and run grapple where the Petraptor just bites a player stunning them and drags them around as it retreats in safety or to the owner. This should also apply on smaller creatures. However, against giant creatures Petraptor should instead latch on to them similar to how mudraptors destroy the exterior of submarines.
-The Petraptor should avoid getting damaged unless necessary and resort to hit and run maneuver that utilizes walls and environment.
-The Petraptor should have a stalk talent that enables it to walk without sounds, therefore it will be invisible to sonar.
-The Petraptor should have a talent that makes it realize it can use walls to jump on and propel themselves to deal more damage.
-The Petraptor must win solo against a thresher swarm breach and must utilize walls while using hit and run manuever.
•Advanced A.I Features
-Talents should improve Petraptor A.I helping it becoming human A.I.
-When out of the submarines, owner can command Petraptor to return to submarine, but due to it unable to open the airlock it will just wait and follow the submarine as it moves and latch on to the submarine.
-The Petraptor must locate the submarine without fail, similar to how wild mudraptors locate a submarine.
-Petraptor should have a patrol sub commands, with this commands they can efficiently guard the submarine and use echolocation to successfully locate breaches and intruders, they will breach walls if necessary and protect the crew repairing the sub. WHILE EXECUTING THIS COMMAND THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF SUBMARINE AT ALL COST.
That Petraptor should be a formidable ally for the game and crew, like Rex the Tamed Armored Mudraptor from the civilian transportation event, big and scary, strong and deadly, the Petraptor will be your friend and ally amongst the denizens of Europa. A biological weapon able to tear monsters and humans apart in one single command or provocation, a force to be reckoned with.

Petraptors must become TRAINABLE like dogs and have growth milestones to provide impact in the game and crew especially in late-game and PvP; I demand, that the Petraptor must have commands and have talent skill trees for learning talents while equipped with equipment slots for raptor-gear or equipment in order to provide the Petraptor with formidable power and ability to become a late game exploration explorer-hard-carry.
In order for the Petraptor to be revolutionized the following must be implemented:
•Basic Features -The owner must get a new hotbar available on the interface that lists commands for Petraptor to follow.
-Commands should have hierarchy, for example: protect owner, this commands must override other existing pending commands.
-The Petraptor should have radio equipment communication slot available to fill in in order to transmit commands over long distances, though some commands should be left unusable over great distances, some commands should have range limits.
-The Petraptor should have talents in order to get new skills and be able to learn to heed more commands and expand A.I.
-The Petraptor should be teleported beside the owner whenever docking and saving in an outpost and it must trigger a follow the owner command automatically, to avoid losing the Petraptor.
-The Petraptor should have collar slot and collars that can be equipped similar to head equipment slot of human entities, that serve as I.D to enter hulls with manual pet sensor modification.
-The Petraptor should have growth stages, each stage require materials, and each stage should give it more abilities, natural armor, stats, etc. To balance this hunger should increase as well.
-Stations must sell monster meat that a player can use to feed Petraptor and unique food items can give unique buffs and debuffs to Petraptor.
-Petraptors should have health interfaces, however it can only be accessed by an owner, medic or an assistant, to further balance the Petraptor medic and owner are given a -70% efficiency on using medical items on Petraptor, unless it is a assistant giving aid to the Petraptor.
-The Petraptor should have weapons slots to be filled in with weapons that can help them capture or hunt prey and fight bigger monsters, with each different types of weapons providing different uses such as: piercing, grappling, wall climbing, blunt force trauma, stun, bleeding and decapitation.
-The Petraptor should have artificial armor equipment in order to better protect them in combat against a swarm of monsters and bullets as well as grant them extra speed and slowness in land and in water similar to the Slipsuit.
-The Petraptor must have a talent than will enable it to crawl between small spaces or just dash through em to provide mobility in land.
-The Petraptor must have a talent to mine ores and commands to make them breach walls like a boarding axe.
-The Petraptor should be able to be genetically modified.
-The Petraptor must never get lost, refer to the outpost teleportation mechanism above.
-The Petraptor could have an equippable brain chip that can be connected to handheld sonars in order to improve efficiency of the device.
•Combat Features
-The Petraptor should have a talent on grappling it should have two different types that will be used for bigger enemies and smaller enemies. Grappling should neutralize humans effectively and it should only happen when Petraptor sprints and jumps them like a xenomorph, it must immobilize humans and kill them my biting off their hands though effectiveness can be determined by talents, such as a hit and run grapple where the Petraptor just bites a player stunning them and drags them around as it retreats in safety or to the owner. This should also apply on smaller creatures. However, against giant creatures Petraptor should instead latch on to them similar to how mudraptors destroy the exterior of submarines.
-The Petraptor should avoid getting damaged unless necessary and resort to hit and run maneuver that utilizes walls and environment.
-The Petraptor should have a stalk talent that enables it to walk without sounds, therefore it will be invisible to sonar.
-The Petraptor should have a talent that makes it realize it can use walls to jump on and propel themselves to deal more damage.
-The Petraptor must win solo against a thresher swarm breach and must utilize walls while using hit and run manuever.
•Advanced A.I Features
-Talents should improve Petraptor A.I helping it becoming human A.I.
-When out of the submarines, owner can command Petraptor to return to submarine, but due to it unable to open the airlock it will just wait and follow the submarine as it moves and latch on to the submarine.
-The Petraptor must locate the submarine without fail, similar to how wild mudraptors locate a submarine.
-Petraptor should have a patrol sub commands, with this commands they can efficiently guard the submarine and use echolocation to successfully locate breaches and intruders, they will breach walls if necessary and protect the crew repairing the sub. WHILE EXECUTING THIS COMMAND THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF SUBMARINE AT ALL COST.
That Petraptor should be a formidable ally for the game and crew, like Rex the Tamed Armored Mudraptor from the civilian transportation event, big and scary, strong and deadly, the Petraptor will be your friend and ally amongst the denizens of Europa. A biological weapon able to tear monsters and humans apart in one single command or provocation, a force to be reckoned with.

I only did community college for 1 year for network support/network admin but failed to get the 2 year network admin degree. Failed multiple times in IT but everyone suggested I do college for computer programming or software engineering. I am depressed about my future and worried since I can't hold a job down and not sure what to do exactly. What's the best degree I should do? I don't have any particular interests.

Gfs mom says I’m stingy
So long story short, I’ve been with my girlfriend for 4 years and been living together for almost that amount of time. She is chronically I’ll and can’t really work so I pay all the bills as the earner. My gf recently has had some car issues and her car broke down on her way to go see her mom who lives about 2 hours away. I’m a long haul trucker so I was gone when this happened and was really concerned for my gf because she was on the side of the road stuck. The car is technically her moms, but her mom lets her drive the car like it’s hers. My gf calls her mom to tell her the car broke down and to possibly get triple A to tow it and to see whats going on, and to get her off the road. My gfs mom basically had my gf sitting on the side of the road for 12 hours before anyone got to her, and I didn’t know this. I called her to check on her and she told me she was still on the side of the road. I was furious, I called a towing company to tow her car to the nearest place. I didn’t say anything to her mom but in my mind I was frustrated with her for handling the situation so poorly and she didn’t even try to go pick up my gf who was about 45 minutes away from her. Fast forward, the car is getting looked at and my gfs mom says that I need to let my gf drive my car while I’m gone over the road. Well my car is old and falling apart too. I don’t have a lot of savings and if my car breaks down while she’s out driving, we’re screwed! My gf is ok with what my issues with this are, but her mom thinks I’m being stingy. She then goes on to say some days later to my gf that I’m stingy again with my money even though I’ve financially taken care of my gf for the past 4 years from the beginning working a minimum wage job, to now having a better paying job. And a weird addition now is that my girlfriends dad who was out of her life for a while just popped up out of nowhere and wired her a bunch of money more than I have now. So now my girlfriend has more money than I do and my girlfriend‘s mom it’s still saying that I’m stingy with my money, this is really taking an effect on me because I’ve dedicated the last four years of my life to financially providing for her daughter in so many ways including her health. I’m currently not wanting to talk to my girlfriends mom, and my girlfriend tells me that i really shouldn’t worry about what she says and thinks of me. But it still just bothers me

Like the title says, my grandma passed away after a very brief illness. Most of the family hadn't been told yet, so I can't really talk about it with anyone but my sister, who told me, and my husband.
I dont know exactly how to feel. We weren't close for a long time, but we've been visiting once a year when their RV rolls through my town on the path to somewhere else. We've become friendly; grandpa likes having a few drinks with my spouse, and they talk airplanes. I feel a little bad as this year I cut the visit short due to a brand new job and having to get back for training. OTOH, if they could've stuck around for a few hours and done dinner like usual, we'd have had more time...
Anyway, kids, don't take it for granted. Any time you see someone could be the last time.

Currently, I work as an IT tech at $25 hourly. When I’m not working on tickets, I’m working on backend stuff. I work with Linux servers, Apach2, PHP, syslog (setup, setting severity levels), setting dimension up, firewalls (ACLs, vpn tunnels), internal DNS configuration (zones, records), and server maintenance. Based on this, I feel like I’m doing work that exceeds my current job and it’s title. Should I ask to become a sysadmin? Or find somewhere else?
