I'm having an issue with my T flight rudders. For some reason, the rudder is at full lock by default. To fly straight I have to apply rudder in the opposite direction. Checking the settings, I can only set the axis for one direction, won't let me have the full range.
I've tried changing the control profile but it does nothing. Nothing is bound in the default profile.
I don't have any flight assistance enabled either.

I'm setting up a storage system to which I'm shipping all the items on tractors, so they're gonna come out as a mess, and using smart splitters to sort it. Right now I have it set up that the specified item goes into the left output, and the center output is set to "Any unspecified". I just realized that I need to set up an overflow system, and I'm wondering, does the "Overflow" setting work only when both other outputs are full? Or can it work when only one is filled up? Or is it better to just set the right output to the specified item as well and just have the system fill up slower?

So for those who have been asking about my f35 here's an update on how it's going. For those looking for some reading material before bed I got you covered as well.
Things I've changed: - weapon panel. It went from barely functional to completely inoperative. Currently working on auto sorting/switching weapons panel to replace the old manual one.
-control system. I added extra keybinds for important things (autopilot, gear, flight mode, launch) and added controller support so it now supports hotas systems! Only downside is that when I looked at it again after having not touched it in a day or two, there is an uncontrollable oscillation above 200knots. The current 'fix' is turning down the leading edge flaps but that messes with trim which messes with autopilot which messes with everything. Safe to say this system is worse off than it was a few days ago, but it's on a better path so eventually it'll get good. I might end up fitting a hotas seat into the plane just for the extra keybinds and axis. This plane is already a dream to fly (when working properly) so being able to keep your hands on the controls would be great! Only downside is that I need to relocate 1 panel in the cockpit and I haven't decided where to put it. So for now, the old seat stays.
-core systems. I am trying desperately to simplify the computational load of the f35 without sacrificing features. I taught myself tables today and they will definitely come into play as a go forward with this project. Today alone I removed 16 lua blocks from the weapon system. I went from every pylon doing its own math to one central brain in a different MC that just pumps out what pylon to drop and when. Progress is decent in the optimization department!
-attitude. Don't get me wrong, this is still the single most complex system I've ever built in stormworks. Half the systems haven't been started, and the other half are barely functional. I've already put over 200 hours into the project over the past few months and it often feels like 2 steps forward 1 step back, but right now I feel more motivated to work on it than I did when I first saw those bays open. So even if this project is formed to fail, it will not be going down anytime soon.
-canopy. The all important canopy. The aesthetics did not change but the brain did. For reference on how much power I'm putting into this computer, the canopy talks to the main systems on board. For 99% of applications the canopy will do exactly what you want it to without your input being required. The other 1%? It's being worked on. That's kinda the goal of this whole plane. I want to do as little as possible as a stormworks pilot but man I really hate it when a computer does something you didn't want it to do. That just gives yall a good reference as to what my thought process is here.
OK as much as I love talking about my FCS dying, autopilot crying, weapon system reviving, and canopy vibing, I think it's time we talk game plan. There were a lot of people mentioning how they just couldn't wait for this thing to go up on the workshop. So for those of you dying from anticipation, I expect a funeral invite. This project has taken a long time, and there isn't a single aspect of the plane that I am even close to happy with yet. As much as I would love to put this plane on the workshop right now, I just can't. It NEEDS to be perfect. Saying "a long time" and "perfect" doesn't allow for reasonable time estimates, instead, I'll just list off some of the main goals of the plane (subject to change of course) and yall can make your estimates on how long these will take me to implement. Remember, half the fun is learning how to do it, so every system will be home grown for this plane. Also I know these are basically unattainable, but either I make it happen or this plane never gets seen on the workshop so let's hope for a miracle shall we :P.
Flight control system goals: - full controllekeyboard support with selectable control types based on controller needs (sticky throttle vs centering throttle for example)
Auto Pilot System Goals: - full GCAS system. If my autopilot hits the ocean, my plane better be on fire.
-the classic gps stuff dialed to 11. Alt hold that works perfectly at every speed, autoheading that tracks a line on the floor, and a system that both levels roll and compensates for it. If I decide that my plane flies better on its side, the autopilot should agree.
-auto formation. Two reasons: 1, once I install everything else, this will be easy, and two, because a screenshot with 4 f35s in diamond formation would be epic.
-auto takeoff and landing. I'm not sure if this was shown yet, but my map display has every static airport in game coded into it. My dream is to be at one airport, click on another, and watch my plane do everything without me. Future plans to add carrier landings as well.
MFD goals. - map display. Full pan, zoom, and follow features (duh) as well as information overlays(weapon and navigation). Picture things like points of interest, laser designator(s?), IFF locations, and of course, airports.
-weapon display. My biggest planned compromise... I have 2 options here; I could build a fully proprietary standard and use home brewed weapons with amazing integration, or use a standardized approach ensuring compatibility. I chose the latter. I'm not the best at anything , and certainly not with weapons. I decides I'll leave that up to the community. That doesn't mean the weapon Page will be bad though. It's still going to auto group weapons by type, offer different firing modes, a wide suite of guidance types, and of course, a quality sequencer. This is what I worked on today and even though I still haven't started most of the features, the polish on the parts I have finished is definitely good enough for me.
-EW display. [REDACTED]. Jk of course. I'm not that multiplayer type so I don't really care if people take my EW systems. To be clear, there is 0% chance the public release is going to be fully featured, but it certainly wont need an ew pod. Planned features include radio sweeping/jamming, radio tracking, multi-standard IFF, datalink, frequency hopping, and depending on how ambitious I'm feeling, maybe some code breaking as well. Again, I'm not that multiplayer type, so I'll probably never see the benefit from these systems. But to have such a nice plane be spoiled by a radio guided missile would be a crime. Side note, currently there are exactly 0 antenna in the build, but I'm sure I'll find space somewhere...
Conclusion. Would you look at that! A list of goals so ambitious there's no chance he'll accomplish any of it! Yeah, probably. Nice to dream I guess. Anyway, here's the fun part: I'm easy to persuade, and I am shooting for every bell and whistle I can think of. That means if one of yall give me a sales pitch for a feature I should add, it will most likely end up on the list. Also if yall have standards or references you think I should take a look at, I will gladly do so.

- full INS based flight control system. Ability to auto trim every axis without feeling too snappy or unpredictable. If drift exists, it should be from your flightstick, not the plane.
- complete flight modes. Ex: dogfight mode with increased control responsiveness, landing mode with autoleveling, descent rate control, and auto flaring.
- perfect in all weather conditions. If I feel the need to look at the wind setting, somethings gone horribly wrong. The wind doesn't move mountains, so why should it move my plane?

Basically anything that doesn't fit with a keybind or on the map display. One notable goal is that both panels could be up side by side allowing you to input way points, and visualize flight plans a lot easier.

2023.06.01 08:30 Myllokunmingia I'm totally anhedonic and unmotivated after 2 weeks sober, and I have no idea what to do with myself.
I grew up with a functional alcoholic father and didn't realize how normalized alcohol use had become to me until I was in my late 20s. I started drinking a lot in college and was pretty consistently the heaviest drinker with friends. Not the most drunk because I adapted to handling it well but I could keep up with people that had a few dozen pounds on me. A lot of people say alcohol makes them tired or not feel great after a few drinks, I just feel better and better unless I get to the point of throwing up. And even then I'd feel better after puking and want to drink more.
I'm 29 now and it got pretty bad over the past 3 years or so. So did my dad's, and I think watching him slowly kill himself with it despite the pleas of everyone in our family, therapy, and an intervention I staged started to make me realize how serious my own problem was.
I was working an incredibly high stress job and it started to become my only way to relax. Come home, drink all night, wake up hungover, repeat. When covid hit I started working from home and it evolved into day drinking to get through the work day. I'd take a shot at 11 and keep up a buzz all day while feeling like complete dogshit the entire time. I hid it from my girlfriend at the time. I'd buy duplicate bottles of the liquor we had and hide them in the basement so it wasn't obvious I was plowing through a few fifths a week at times. If she or anyone at work noticed they never said anything. I kind of snapped at one point and quit the job (couldn't keep doing 60+ hours after a few years of it); I've had enough financial stability to not work for several months now but the drinking didn't really stop. I cut back a lot and starting working out, even lost a lot of weight, but I've been oscillating between moderate and heavy drinking the entire time. I've been dealing with a lot of mental health issues and realized I have absolutely been using alcohol as a form of escapism from depression and anxiety. The only time I'm not in total fight-or-flight mode is after a drink.
Last year I spontaneously accepted an invitation to EDC for this May from an old friend. If you're not familiar, it's a gigantic rave/electronic music festival outside Las Vegas. I've never been to anything like that and thought I'd give it a go. I'd actually forgotten about it until I got added to a group chat a few weeks before and managed to get my shit together enough to make plans to go. It was the first thing of note I'd done in months.
We camped in the desert with a crew of people I largely didn't know and had an incredible time. The group brought vodka but it was so brutally hot during the day no one (myself included) could stomach the idea of alcohol. It literally felt like a survival situation where you were just trying to sleep and stay hydrated and sane in 100+ heat under the Nevada sun. Then at night you'd take a bunch of party drugs and wander around the Speedway seeing DJ sets while being overstimulated with neon light shows and unending bass. It might've been the most fun I've had in years and I didn't drink for 3 days; which I haven't done for years.
I don't know if it was the healthiest way to force an evaluation of my life, but it forced one anyway. And I realized I didn't want to end up like my dad and that I'd been pissing away my life in a bottle. I'm happy I've come to this conclusion but panged with regret around how much time I've lost. I came home happy for the first time in about a year and totally full of energy. I was ready to get my next job, start making new friends, and start a new chapter of my life.
Those feelings lasted about 2 days and since then I have crashed, hard. I've been sleeping 10-12 hours and I'm exhausted by 3 after having done nothing. I've read it's possible my body is repairing a lot of long-term damage now that I'm not constantly inundating it with a toxin. I'm trying to do what I can. I'm introducing moderate exercise, taking multivitamins, eating extremely well, drinking water, and obviously avoiding booze. I still feel like shit, though. I have no motivation or energy. I've been in a foul mood. I feel foggy and slow, I can't follow conversation well and articulating my thoughts is difficult. Complex ideas wash over me and feel like grabbing at molasses. It's like my brain is stuck in power-saving mode. Nothing brings me joy. I realized I don't even know how to socialize without alcohol, I'm worried it's going to make meeting people difficult and hanging out with existing ones more complicated. It's like my genes and upbringing funneled me into a trap I didn't even know existed until recently and now that I know it's there I don't know how to get out. I feel like a shell.

I've been in a foul mood. I feel foggy and slow, I can't follow conversation well and articulating my thoughts is difficult. Complex ideas wash over me and feel like grabbing at molasses. It's like my brain is stuck in power-saving mode. Nothing brings me joy. I realized I don't even know how to socialize without alcohol, I'm worried it's going to make meeting people difficult and hanging out with existing ones more complicated. It's like my genes and upbringing funneled me into a trap I didn't even know existed until recently and now that I know it's there I don't know how to get out. I feel like a shell.

Throwback to five months ago, the guy I'm in love with ghosts me after a conversation we had where he promised to respond more. Now that really hurt me- like I was full on sobbing, begging him to just send me anything in voicemails. I was completely gutted. I ended up having to go to an inpatient mental facility. I spent 24 days there and it did not help me. I have never experienced pain like this before. He didn't respond... until yesterday. Now I'm friends with some of his friends and he texts me about that over discord. He told me that after every conversation we had he left feeling worse. He told me we could be friendly acquaintances and hang out in group settings but nothing more. I'm heartbroken all over again. I thought I wanted closure but as it turns out, I really really didn't. I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest and torn to shreds. I'm still in love with him and I don't know how to get over it. That's my whole story pretty much... Thanks for reading. Build Overview:
The idea behind the build is to create an infinite feedback loop for Ice Shards while being near indestructible.
Ice shards Enchantment allows it to be auto cast at frozen enemies. At 5/5 skill points and Enhanced Ice and Greater Ice Shards selected the shards have a 40% chance to ricochet to another enemy and always ricochet off of Frozen enemies. In addition when you have a Barrier (this build has many) casts of Ice shards treat enemies as if they were frozen. Ice shards also do 25% increased damage...
From gear Harlequin Crest Helm adds 4 ranks to all skills boosting shard damage and giving 10 to 20 damage reduction. Everlasting Aspect chest gives 20 to 25% reduced damage from crowd controlled or vulnerable enemies. Aspect of Biting cold gloves allows Freeze a 25 to 35% chance at a 3 sec vulnerable. Iceheart Brais pants allow enemies a 11 to 20% chance to Frost Nova on death.
Aspect of Shared Misery boots has a lucky hit proc of 30 to 50% that will spread crowd control to another unaffected enemy which will work of chill or Frost as they are both CC. Aspect of Piercing Cold weapon allows Ice Shards to pierce 3-4 times dealing 25 to 20% reduced damage per subsequent enemy hit. Shadowguard's Aspect Amulet adds 10 to 15% damage reduction when standing in Blizzard and the Blizzard enchant will cause Blizzard to be auto self cast on you and follow you around every 15 seconds for 6 seconds. Aspect of Control Ring will add 30 to 40% damage to Immobilized, Stunned or Frozen enemies. Glacial Aspect ring will cause blizzard to periodically spawn exploding ice spikes that deal x damage and do 20 to 30% increased damage to Frozen enemies. Lastly the Aspect of Frozen Memories offhand will allow the avalanche passive to apply 1 additional cast.
Playstyle:
The end result is you will constantly be freezing enemies as blizzard applies chill and has no cooldown and will be spammed liberally when enemies are frozen there are 2 routes to bonus damage through vulnerability proc and cc proc bonus and the innate 25% bonus to Frozen from Ice shards. Immediately shards will then start shooting shards at frozen targets since they are frozen the shards ricochet and because of gear they also pierce when they target blows up they have a chance to proc a frost nova repeating the process as every Frozen enemy is hit automatically there is also a proc that can happen from Aspect of shared misery to spread the Frost to other targets which will then proc the Enchant again and again just from the auto cast from your Enchant not to mention your active skill usage which will also be setting this up.
The fun doesn't stop there however from gear you get (10 to 20) + (20 to 25) + (10 to 15) = (40% to 60%) stackable damage reduction. In skills Ice armor give 45% reduction for 6 seconds and damage against vulnerable will boos that by 50% as will Harlequin which will add 4 more levels of reduction on top. Every time you use 100 mana you get 15% reduction for 5 sec with Mana shield skilled. With Protection skilled, using any cooldown skill gives 30% of your life as a 2 second barrier ( you have 3 cooldown skills one of which is your teleport which gives 30% damage reduction for 5 seconds and cd reduction on enemies hit) You also have a passive stacking buff from Align the elements that goes from3% up to 40% damage reduction vs elites based on the time between you last taking damage. Hoarfrost, Permafrost and Icy Touch add 12% damage vs vulnerable 15% damage vs elites and 9% damage to chilled and 18% vs frozen. Lastly Avalanche which has 2 casts due to the aspect causes frost skills to have a 10% lucky hit to make Ice Shards and Blizzard use no mana and do 40% increased damage and a 20% lucky hit chance if the enemy is vulnerable.
Paragon is chalk full of even more damage reduction with 6 fully activated rare glyphs 7 total and 3 legendary nodes that boost enchantments damage and range and stack on both damage and even more reduction and barriers. As barriers play such a huge role I suggest Diamond gems for Armor, Sapphire on weapons to boost crit during Frozen and chill and skull to boost armor on jewelry.
The end result should theoretically feel like you are a world war 2 Flying Fortress gunning through the hordes of hell while they barely scratch the surface of your Ice Armor.

I have a Surface Book 3, the 15-inch i7 one, and EVERY TIME I try to play a game on EA it freezes the entire screen. I have to click off and back in to get into settings slowly, and changing resolution and full screen does absolutely nothing. I've had a few minor bugs with scaling on the surface book in the past with other things, but I'm always able to fix it somehow. I'm well-versed in technology but I have tried so many things and I have no idea what would fix this. Is EA blacklisted for surface laptops? I know having two graphics cards and batteries and the overall idea of the surface book is kinda odd, but I can't imagine that has anything to do with this- it worked completely fine on my desktop and other laptop. Also, I'm running Windows 11 but I'm fairly certain that isn't the issue. My best guess is driver incompatibility but i've kept everything updated, with Nvidia's GeForce and intel's.

Canon F1 New, 50mm 1.8, 28mm 2.8 - $150 OBO
The camera is working, but with the following issues that I discovered when running a few rolls of film through. I sent the camera to Garry's Camera Repair for CLA last year, and I received the camera "repaired" but the following issues were still present.- If the film leader is not loaded properly, after a few winds the film will be caught between the two takeup spools (the leader comes all the way around and ends up caught in the takeup spool closer to the shutter) and the film advance will jam. The back will need to be opened and the jammed film removed. I have managed to load the film properly (with the back open, make sure both takeup spools have teeth inside the film sprocket, and then wind a few times to make sure there is full takeup), and I was able to run whole rolls through with careful advancing using even pressure; YMMV.

The Nikon FG works great - I have shot a few rolls of film through it and everything has come out accurate. The body and lens have reasonable wear given the camera's age, but everything is cosmetic. The light seals show signs of deterioriation but I have had no issues with light leaks in my usage. The meter is accurate, and shutter speeds are good throughout the range with no sticking at either the high or low end. The Series E 50mm 1.8 lens is in great condition with no haze, fungus, or scratches on the glass. I’m just trying to process this all so bare with me and hear me out. This is going to start out sounding braggy but just be patient. I’m a mess. I promise.
I am, for all intents and purposes, one of those super moms. I’m a single mother to autistic twin 3.5 year olds. We have a set schedule and a routine that we follow (and I will fight you if you try to mess with our routine or our schedule). I have a little Montessori closet/dressing station and kitchen set up that we use religiously so my girls know how to get the things we need to eat/get out the door. We have a pretty little weekly routine calendar with photo tiles I hand made. I have snacks prepared and portioned and meals for the week ready to go. My fridge is full of mason jars of rinsed and cut fruit and vegetables. My car has an emergency snack bag, a travel toy box, and a “what if all of us fell into the river and then had to go to church immediately after” disaster bag (we don’t go to church but what if). My girls attend therapy daily and they’re known as the girls with the pretty little coordinating outfits and the homemade organic snacks and the yuppie lunches and all that jazz.
And if you had told me five years ago that that’s who I and my children would be, I would have laughed in your face. If you have hinted at that future to my friends or my family or my (now ex-) husband (their father), they would have questioned your sanity. And they would have been right to do so.
But the thing is, then I had twins. I thought I was prepared. I worked in the two year old room in daycare. I could handle 15 two-year-olds solo (ratio is 8:1 but if you have two adults in a room and one adult has to change diapers, that leaves the other adult to manage the remaining 15), two should’ve been nothing. I had twins, and their dad checked out.
He didn’t leave. That probably would’ve been better. He just mentally checked out. For their first 3 months he handled one feeding a day (the one immediately after he got home from work), but then he decided he didn’t want them so I took over everything. For the next 15 months I did everything while he either went to work or sat in the house and pouted.
And all this time, I was just trying to keep my babies alive and him not upset. That’s all I wanted. But all this time I was in reaction mode. I was constantly needing four hands and having only two. I was constantly listening to one of my babies cry and knowing if I had just planned better, if I had just had their bottle or pacifier or toy ready and within arms reach, it wouldn’t matter that I was pinned helping their sister and I would’ve been able to help her faster. And while I listened to my babies cry, I would also know that their dad was listening and getting angry that a baby was crying. Not out of concern for our baby—if he were concerned he could’ve gotten up and come into the room and helped—but because a baby crying is loud and annoying and I was taking too long to make it stop.
And then I kicked him out of the house. And then I realized I actually could get my girls involved in early intervention services. Because all this time my daughters had also been failing their developmental screeners and he’d been refusing to allow them to get evaluated. And it turns out they both were 75% delayed across the board. So not only was I taking care of twin toddlers by myself, but I was also taking care of twin toddlers with the danger awareness, motor skills, communication skills, social skills, and self help skills of infants by myself. So we started all of the therapies and now I was doing the work of an occupational therapist, speech therapist, physical therapist, and behavioral therapist for two tiny humans 24/7 by myself. And the only way I could manage was to throw myself 100% into being ready and prepared.
We set our routines and schedules because my girls didn’t have the receptive language to understand verbal instructions, but they did have the pattern recognition to willingly follow along with the same set steps every day. We made our visual calendar so I could point to how the day was going to go. We prepped our meals and snacks so I could get them one handed while dealing with a meltdown. We built up our car stashes so I could handle meltdowns by myself no matter where we were and still get to where we were going looking presentable. We have our little kitchen set up so the girls can pick their plates and utensils and I can avoid the meltdown. I dress my girls in cute little coordinating outfits and feed them homemade and organic and sugar free because that’s the one tiny thing I have control over (don’t worry they will absolutely get to choose individual outfits the second they care—right now they just both love the same things so they’re happy wearing the same type of outfits in different colors. And they still get fun food too I’m making sure it doesn’t turn into an eating disorder for them type deal).
I am accused of being uptight and militant. I look uptight and militant. And impressive. I look like super mom. It looks like I’ve got it all together. But honestly, I’m hanging by a thread. I do all these things because I’m terrified. I’m terrified that if I’m not prepared, if I haven’t set the schedule and the routine and given my girls the tools to help me help them, we’ll slide back into those dark days (that I’ve honestly mostly blocked out) where my babies were crying and I just had to listen to them because I didn’t have enough hands and I wasn’t prepared ahead of time for what they’d need.
So, yeah. It’s been years since those days where my infants were crying and I just did not have enough hands and I still get a pit in my stomach at the idea of messing with my routines or my systems. I go into emergency preparedness mode. I start planning for every change months in advance to make sure I never go back to those days. It’s fine, I guess. It works. My daughters are happy and healthy and thriving. They’re getting ready to graduate from ABA therapy and move on to regular preschool with no interventions. And I do manage to do things outside our routine. As I type this we’re halfway across the US starting in my ex’s grandparents’ house for a visit because they’d never met the girls and I wasn’t sure if my ex would get around to ever making the trip. We did the three hour flight and six hour drive just the three of us. I just could do without the constant anxiety.

For context: I am autistic. I have a very low social battery, I work full time at a customer service heavy job which eats up 99% of my energy, I don’t really have any friends because I just do not have the energy to speak with them, but it’s easier speaking to my partner because they are the only person I can unmask around. Also to add, I am below the poverty line and I’m barely making it, I eat like 1-2 times a week to make up for this.
To start, I moved across the country to be with my partner. They still live at home for the time being because they’re still in school and their family isn’t very welcoming or trans-friendly (they’re not out to their family, I am FTM and have to “girlmode” whenever I go over there), I live in an apartment have for over a year. My last roommate ending up moving away so I got a new one earlier this year and at first, everything seemed okay.
Here’s the issue: It is not okay. He is a child. I don’t get more than 30 seconds of alone time if we’re both home and awake. In my room? He barges in, or knocks obsessively if it’s locked. I go outside? He follows, and if he doesn’t follow he will set out on an adventure to find me. I go to work? He visits me! I go to the laundry room? Followed. Gas station? Followed. Bathroom? Oh, I can’t even use it because me stepping outside my room is an invitation to hang out to him, I will have to wait hours to piss because he will just talk to me nonstop. He overfeeds my cats and I tried talking to him about it and he just guilt tripped me with “You hate me. You’re mad at me” so I know discussing the whole stalking thing will not work.
Not only that, but I am basically his maid. Yesterday I came home from work to a pile of chicken nuggets on the couch (my cats literally roam free, that is so unsafe) and a bottle of ketchup wedged between the cushions. He’s stained pretty much everything with hair dye or some sort of food. He steals my dishes and doesn’t clean them and they pile up im the sink to the point some stuff has molded before. I pay for everything like toilet paper and trash bags and if I run out of money and can’t pay for them, he just throws trash on the ground (he already does that with trash bags present, to be fair) or uses paper towels as toilet paper all while buying himself snacks at the gas station, so I know he has some money.
He is eating at my energy. I am a full time employee and a full time parent to a man who is older than me. By the time I’m finally alone and he’s gone to work, I’m 101% tuckered out and cannot speak even if I tried. This is genuinely fucking with my relationship, because I don’t have any energy to speak to my partner. I just get irritable and angry. I literally started relentlessly screaming at my charger last night when it fell out of the charging hole because I was so frustrated with work + my roommate, I just cannot do it. I cannot balance all 3. The issue is, I need this roommate or I will be on the streets, same with my job. I cannot break the lease because it is 2x the rent and I don’t even make enough for my half of the rent, I am consistently in the negatives.
My relationship is completely fine outside of this. We were doing great. Then my roommate moved in. And I cannot get my mind off anything else, as you’ll see from my post history, because it’s almost 24/7. He works nights so I don’t even get alone time because I’m sleeping most of the time he’s working.  | Do you ever lie awake at night wondering who those missing Justice League designations are in Season 4? No? Just me? Well, anyway-- submitted by Strengthwars to youngjustice [link] [comments] Young Justice: Phantoms told another satisfying story that reflected on and wrapped up threads connecting as far back as the first season while also doing some exciting new world-building (or galaxy-building on the cosmic side). One element of this included the expansion of the Justice League roster, which is a show staple and has happened every season. Invasion's five-year time skip added Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Black Lightning, Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Zatanna, and Rocket, even if Ted was dead by the time the season began. As the galactic efforts of the team expanded, Outsiders' shorter two-year time skip brought about a much bigger expansion with ten members. Even though we never got to see Fire or Magog, even by Phantoms, we did learn about their place on the League by the end of the third season. Alas, the fourth, despite giving us some info and clues, did not reveal the full list of the expanded roster by the end of its run. Here's what we know:
Jay is probably 44 and joined outside the other six. The first thing to acknowledge is which character has that mysterious 38 slot preceding Cyborg. That slot means that the first hero to join the League after Season 3, assuming they joined alongside Vic, was someone who had become a hero prior to February 2019. Obviously, Jay Garrick became a hero quite a bit earlier, in 1940 to be exact, and was a founding member of the Justice Society of America. We learn in Season 4's "Leviathan Wakes" that he has become a member of the more modern Justice League and see him on his very first mission nearly two months later in the next episode. These time discrepancies are odd, but Jay is a long-time hero and it's not unreasonable to hazard that he may have joined outside of the normal League recruitment schedule. They no doubt would have been happy to accommodate him at his own pace. This, plus the fact that his first mission wasn't until August 2020 when we know the main recruitment wave happened prior to February, leads me to suspect that Jay joined more recently compared to the mentioned episodes and that he is designated 44. It's possible that he's 38, but that would eliminate all the interesting possibilities of longer-standing heroes who may have become Leaguers by the fourth season... Rocket Red (Dmitri Pushkin) Dmitri is a Justice League member in the comics and we saw him don his Rocket Red armor for the first time during Season 3's "Leverage", set on November 17th, 2018 -- a few months prior to Vic's becoming Cyborg. Now, the Rocket Red Brigade in YJ is a Russian superhero organization and Dmitri especially doesn't take kindly to American espionage/intervention. He wants to rival the Justice League, not join it... at least at that time. Could he have changed his mind in the following year or so? Perhaps. I'll circle back to this for my next idea, but in the credits scene of “Beyond the Grip of the Gods!” in Season 4, we see Black Lightning and Superman discussing the forthcoming Justice League Reserves and a screen displaying potential recruits. In addition to this, Superman notes that "Russia has more Rocket Reds" as an idea for further recruitment. His use of more is interesting, as it potentially signifies that there is already a Rocket Red within their circles. However, given Dmitri's characterization from what little we saw of him and what we know the Rocket Red Brigade's nationalist goals seem to be here, it's equally possible and perhaps more likely that the "more" simply refers to the membership beyond Dmitri and his superior, Olga Ilyich, whom all the heroes would have learned about in Season 3, given that it was a Team mission reporting to the League. Perhaps a Rocket Red or two made it into the Reserves, but I'm betting the 38 designation actually belongs to a different character... Robotman Many of you may know Cliff Steele/Robotman from the acclaimed Doom Patrol show, and he made his first true appearance in Season 4's "Emergency Dive" after an illusion of sorts in the third season. In YJ, Robotman was a founding member of the Doom Patrol in 2011 and died with the rest of his crew in 2015. In Season 3, during an episode set in 2018, Beast Boy's dream sequence seems to indicate that he still believes Robotman to be dead. But Robotman is a living human brain stuck in a metal body, and we learn in the fourth season that said robot head was recovered and that Cliff has slowly been working himself out of the depression stemming from losing his team and spending years at the bottom of a river. Whether that's the exact timeline of events is a bit in question, but we know that by Season 4, Robotman is up and running and ready to help Gar despite still facing struggles. Cliff is not typically a Justice League member in other mediums, but neither is Zatara, Rocket, or Magog. One of the best things about YJ is how it remixes and reimagines typical continuity, and in the world of Earth-16 where the League is the premiere superhero organization that it is, it makes sense that they'd properly take in Robotman. We know that he's able to utilize Black Canary's mental health services, as he is a key example she brings up in "Death and Rebirth" as to why she wants to organize a proper sanctuary for struggling heroes who need to work on themselves. Given his ties to the hero community in 2020, I find it strange that Cliff would not be featured on this screen: The pictured Justice League Reserve candidates in “Beyond the Grip of the Gods!” Black Lightning and Superman conveniently cover up two of the slots, but it seems far more likely that was done to avoid showing characters the creative team didn't have designs for rather than the ones they did, don't you think? So my question is, if Robotman is so connected to the superhero community as they support his recovery, why would he not be on speed dial for the next crisis via this Reserves setup? Or at least be in contention? I think a very likely answer is that Robotman cannot be a Reserve member because he is already a regular member of the Justice League, specifically under designation 38, as he debuted in 2011 and would have joined alongside Cyborg. While he's still on a journey of recovery, Robotman seems up and running enough (pun intended) by Season 4 that I don't think it's too much of a stretch to propose that he's joined the team proper. But beyond that elusive 38 slot, I do have one more guess to propose as to another member of Cyborg's wave who could have become a hero after him... S.T.R.I.P.E. In Season 3, we are introduced to teenage interview show host Courtney Whitmore. Sometime during 2019, she acquired a Cosmic Staff and became Stargirl, as we see her as a member of the Outsiders during Season 4. For anyone familiar with Courtney's DC Universe/CW show, you'll know that Courtney is a legacy hero and that her uncle, Pat Dugan, is a critical part of that journey. Pat was a sidekick back in his younger days and, in the comics and Stargirl show, suits up in a robotic suit of armor as an adult to aid Courtney as her sidekick. Thanks to the recent Young Justice: Targets tie-in comic series showing us Green Arrow flashbacks to 2010 and the time frame of Season 1, we know that Pat Dugan and his old mentor Sylvester Pemberton exist... as Star City traffic reporters rather than heroes (at least at that time). It seems like Courtney's E-16 legacy may be more of a media one than a heroic one, but her Stargirl persona persists and so it's not impossible that her uncle may have his suit as well. While it's far from assured, Pat is a character we now know is around, and given that he'd be becoming active after Cyborg and that he and Courtney are often a package deal, I think it would be interesting if S.T.R.I.P.E. was one of the members who joined the League between Seasons 3 and 4. ... If anyone out there was courageous enough to read all of that, I commend you for your patience and appreciate your shared interest. I love this world and its rich characters, history, and mystery, and given the sub's rising subscriber numbers, I know I'm not alone. So if you're mighty curious as to who else may have joined the Justice League between seasons, I would love to hear your thoughts below. Remember, most of them are likely newer heroes, so your answers are welcome to range from why a new character like Vixen might work well in the current context of the show, to why a deep-cut Season 1 cameo like Pieter Cross may have only recently become Doctor Midnight and joined the big League. But Why Tho? - Abdul Ahmad - 4 / 10While Loop8: Summer of Gods is a JRPG that has an interesting concept and some genuinely good features, the game is unfortunately bogged down with poor optimizations, questionable gameplay decisions, and a very painful combat system.
Loop8: Summer of Gods is a unique and memorable game that unfortunately falls victim to some severe balancing issues. Unfortunately, an intriguing world and likable characters are not enough to make this a great experience. While it may appeal to some, JRPG fans looking for a unique challenge may want to look elsewhere.
In a rural environment, in the heart of the universe, inconsequentiality, existential emptiness, lack of values, deep dissatisfaction reign... On the edge of the most absolute abyss, without any direction or anchorage that gives us security, Loop8: Summer of Gods invites us, in the old way, to face that looped piece that deals with the destruction and reconstruction of things. In this regard, slowing down its execution to get out of it, without additional iterations.
Playing Loop8: Summer of Gods, I debated about which rating to give. Often I know even from the start which way my verdict will go, but not so this time. At first, the town felt so barren, and I often felt like I was just clicking away. Suggesting as much as I could towards everyone I met. Eventually, I began to see how I should play the game, paying more attention to relationships and whose friendship I wanted the most. Plus, I did my best to max my stats with activities.
I liked the battles; I would have loved more of them, not just on the days that the gate to the underworld was open. But what made me keep on doubting my verdict was the feeling of being an outsider. Sure, I tried to get closer to my classmates by making the right suggestions, but I would have loved more real background stories and feeling. When I suggest “Get to know better”, I really want to know the person!
I am going for I Like It, as I feel Loop8: Summer of Gods has more potential. To get the A Lot added to the I Like It, I would have needed more fleshed-out characters to relate to, making forming an emotional bond less a matter of clicking away and more of really wanting to know them more!
Loop 8: Summer of Gods is an enjoyable game but it is not for everyone. If you are a fan of strong narratives, then we’d recommend picking it up. If you are a fan of traditional JRPGs then it might be better to watch some gameplay first. If you don’t like a challenge or repetitive gameplay, then we suggest avoiding it.
While Loop8's story has the potential to be incredibly interesting, it never really lands and fails to leave an emotional impact towards the end. It's all presented beautifully and has a unique mix of gameplay styles and ideas, but their repetitive and frustrating nature makes the whole experience a chore. It's like toiling away at your summer job and going through the motions until it's time to leave.
Loop8: Summer of Gods has an interesting concept and some great characters that give a good reason to play it. My first impressions were actually quite positive and if my review was based on the first ten hours, it would probably be a 7/10 due to the great character moments and idea of growing stronger through loops. Unfortunately, the issues with gameplay and systems that came to light over the full forty-five hours it took to complete, and the method of storytelling make it difficult to outright recommend.
A good time loop mechanic is supposed to give you enough variety so that repetition doesn't set in. Unfortunately, this is where Loop8 falls flat. You’ll be going over the same conversations and they’re just not interesting enough to make it worthwhile. It also doesn’t help that there’s only a small variety of enemies, and that the underworld is mostly just the town with a different colour palette. It's hard not to get annoyed when you realise that you’re still not strong enough to take out the next boss, and have no choice but to repeat the last few weeks.
Loop8 is a game full of great ideas that never comes together.
Loop8: Summer of Gods has a very interesting premise with stunning visuals and amazing music. The creativity in the game can hold back other parts of the mechanics.
