TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / May 30, 2023 / Power Nickel Inc. (the "Company" or "Power Nickel") (TSXV:PNPN)(OTCQB:PNPNF)(Frankfurt:IVVI) is pleased to announce the latest results from drill holes PN-23-025, 027 and 028. These three (3) holes (Figure 1 and Table 1) successfully expanded the high-grade intersection in drill hole PN-22-009 (1.17% Ni, 0.80% Cu, 0.08% Co, 1.46ppm Pd, 0.23ppm Pt over 25.86m) by 75 metres depth and 150 metres of strike (Figure 2; NR January 12 th , 2023). Table 1: Significant results for PN-23-025, PN-23-027, and PN-23-028. https://preview.redd.it/ck2l35ysty2b1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=c404f45a5abcb851b977c3ea19eefaa6acb8b2d0 - UTM NAD83, Zone 18N.
- True widths are estimated to be 70% of the Interval Length.
Commented Power Nickel CEO, Terry Lynch, "Once again, Nisk is delivering very promising results. Hole 28 is a high-grade nickel hole with robust cobalt and PGM values. The Nisk Main zone has been very cooperative, with each set of assays having large high-grade intercepts as we look to build a commercial resource. All of these assay results will be captured in our new NI 43-101, which we expect to be delivered in Q3. Our Fall and winter campaigns were very productive, and we have one more set of assays to go, and we are excited to see those sometime in Mid-June." https://preview.redd.it/gu5kp0zsty2b1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=ba7b47ba3f5d07736f9bfb07daf66493c94dc206 https://preview.redd.it/ezrm7c0tty2b1.png?width=983&format=png&auto=webp&s=d32737b2fd073feda4b1bb7e34a9e6dc7028a322 Figure 2. Long section showing hole PN-22-009 intersection The wide (7.8 m) high-grade mineralization intersected by hole PN-23-028 (Figure 3) occurs mainly as massive sulphide beds composed of pyrrhotite, pentlandite, and minor chalcopyrite. The mineralized intersections in holes PN-23-025 and PN-23-027 (Figures 3 and 4) occur as narrow, 1.60m and 1.63m, massive sulphide and semi-massive beds composed of pyrrhotite, pentlandite, and minor chalcopyrite. The wider, higher-grade intersections in holes PN-22-009 and PN-23-028 are interpreted to be located in the hinge zone, or nose, of a fold, while the narrower, high-grade intersections in holes PN-23-025 and PN-23-027 are interpreted to be located in a deformation zone along the limb(s) of the fold. Follow-up ground geophysics consisting of EM and a FLEET ANT survey will be conducted this summer to understand the geometry of the known mineralization better to target specific areas where folding might have thickened the mineralization width. https://preview.redd.it/imlcre1tty2b1.png?width=938&format=png&auto=webp&s=ae9fd67c1c5089442ae462fb7196bf58db94d966 https://preview.redd.it/qtnvgw2tty2b1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a914605e281cf95d4d526eeff7ec6cdffc9ce90 About the Nisk Project The Nisk Project is located in the southern portion of the Eeyo Istchee James Bay territory, Québec, the site of a number of mining projects improving infrastructure (Figure 5). https://preview.redd.it/43zowu4tty2b1.png?width=746&format=png&auto=webp&s=ed52b59972bce693c0f942b5d1bb1e656cc7cef8 Figure 5 - Location of the Nisk Project with respect to the current infrastructure available in the area. Power Nickel completed the acquisition of its option to acquire up to 80% of the Nisk Project from Critical Elements Lithium Corp. (CRE: TSXV). The Nisk Project comprises a large land position (20 kilometres of strike length) with numerous high-grade Nickel intercepts (Figure 6) from recently completed drill programs. https://preview.redd.it/8ns17l6tty2b1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a41345e9dda4fecb15abd6917fa23778704fba4 Figure 6 - Long section highlighting mineralized intercepts of the Main Nisk Deposit. In addition to a successful campaign to extend and expand the resource at Nisk Main, Power Nickel has successfully tested extensions both east and west of the main zone in what could be whole new pods of mineralization. Perhaps most critical was the announcement on May 10th, where Power Nickel stepped out 5 km from the main Nisk resource (Figure 7), intercepting 1 Oz/Tonne Combined Platinum and Palladium over 7.75 Metres in Wildcat hole PN-23-031A. Power Nickel Inc., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Press release picture Figure 7 - Location of the Wildcat Target relative to the main Nisk deposit. The existing resource estimates at the Nisk project are of historical nature, and the Company's geology team has not completed sufficient work to confirm a NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource. Therefore, caution is appropriate since these historic estimates cannot and should not be relied on. For merely informational purposes, see Table 2. Table ‑2: Historical Resource Estimate figures for respective confidence categories at the NISK-1 deposit, After RSW Inc 2009: Resource Estimate for the NISK-1 Deposit, Lac Levac Property, Nemiscau, Québec. https://preview.redd.it/0tm0ux7tty2b1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=0978ca5879b11d0cd20b3dd61bb8074f00f9f35b The information regarding the NISK-1 deposit was derived from the technical report titled "Resource Estimate for the NISK-1 Deposit, Lac Levac Property, Nemiscau, Québec," dated December 2009. The key assumptions, parameters, and methods used to prepare the mineral resource estimates described above are set out in the technical report. Power Nickel expects to take the results from the historical drilling programs, its initial program in late 2021, the current drill program, and a new metallurgical study and prepare a new 43-101, which we would expect to deliver in Q3 2023. Power Nickel posts its drilling information and azimuths on www.PowerNickel.com to enable independent modeling of the ore body. QAQC and SAMPLING GeoVector Management Inc is the Consulting Company retained to oversee the drilling program, which includes core logging and sampling of the drill core. All samples were submitted to and analyzed at ALS Global ("ALS") and Actlabs, independent commercial laboratories located in Val-d'Or, Québec, and Ancaster, Ontario, for both the sample preparation and assaying. ALS and Actlabs are commercial laboratories independent of Power Nickel without interest in the Nisk Project. ALS and Actlabs are ISO 9001 and 17025 certified and accredited laboratories. Samples submitted through ALS are run through thePREP-31 package, where samples are crushed to 70% less than 2mm, riffle split off 250g, plus pulverize split to better than 85% passing 75 microns.Following this, samples are analyzed using ME-ICP61a (33 element Suite; 0.4g sample; Intermediate Level Four Acid Digestion) and PGM-ICP27 (Pt, Pd, and Au; 30g fire assay and ICP-AES Finish) methods. ALS also undertakes its own internal coarse and pulp duplicate analysis to ensure proper sample preparation and equipment calibration. At Actlabs, samples are prepared using code RX1, whereby samples are dried, crushed (<7 kg) up to 80% passing 2mm, riffle split (250g), and pulverized to 95% passing 105 microns. Following this, samples are analyzed using 1F2 (4-acid "near total" digestion) and 1C-OES (Au-Pt-Pd; 30g fire assay + ICP-OES finish). Actlabs runs its own internal QAQC program prior to the release of results. GeoVector's QAQC program includes regularly inserting CRM standards, duplicates, and blanks into the sample stream with a stringent review of all results. The results presented in the current Press Release are complete. QAQC and data validation was performed on these holes, and no material errors were observed. Qualified Person Eric Hébert, P. Geo, Ph.D. from GeoVector Management Inc, and consultant to Power Nickel, is the independent qualified person who has reviewed and approved the technical disclosure contained in this news release. About Power Nickel Inc. Power Nickel is a Canadian junior exploration company focusing on developing the High-Grade Nisk project into Canada's first Carbon Neutral Nickel mine. On February 1, 2021, Power Nickel (then called Chilean Metals) completed the acquisition of its option to acquire up to 80% of the Nisk project from Critical Elements Lithium Corp. (CRE: TSXV) The NISK property comprises a large land position (20 kilometres of strike length) with numerous high-grade intercepts. Power Nickel is focused on expanding the historical high-grade nickel-copper PGE mineralization with a series of drill programs designed to test the initial Nisk discovery zone and to explore the land package for adjacent potential Nickel deposits. 1 In addition to the Nisk project, Power Nickel owns significant land packages in British Colombia and Chile. Power Nickel is expected to reorganize these assets in a related public vehicle through a plan of arrangement. Power Nickel announced on June 8 th , 2021, that an agreement had been made to complete the 100% acquisition of its Golden Ivan project in the heart of the Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle has reported mineral resources (past production and current resources) in a total of 130 million ounces of gold, 800 million ounces of silver, and 40 billion pounds of copper (Resource World). This property hosts two known mineral showings (gold ore and Magee), and a portion of the past-producing Silverado mine, which was reportedly exploited between 1921 and 1939. These mineral showings are described to be Polymetallic veins that contain quantities of silver, lead, zinc, plus/minus gold and plus/minus copper. Power Nickel is also 100 percent owner of five properties comprising over 50,000 acres strategically located in the prolific iron-oxide-copper-gold belt of northern Chile. It also owns a 3-per-cent NSR royalty interest on any future production from the Copaquire copper-molybdenum deposit that was sold to a subsidiary of Teck Resources Inc. Under the terms of the sale agreement, Teck has the right to acquire one-third of the 3-per-cent NSR for $3 million at any time. The Copaquire property borders Teck's producing Quebrada Blanca copper mine in Chile's first region. For further information on Power Nickel Inc., please contact: Mr. Terry Lynch, CEO 647-448-8044 [ [email protected]](mailto: [email protected]) For further information, readers are encouraged to contact: Power Nickel Inc. The Canadian Venture Building 82 Richmond St East, Suite 202 Toronto, ON 1 The resource estimates at Nisk are historical in nature, and the Company's geology team has not completed sufficient work to confirm an NI 43-101 mineral resource. Mineral resource information is derived from the technical report titled "Resource Estimate for the NISK-1 Deposit, Lac Levac Property, Nemiscau, Québec," dated December 2009. The key assumptions, parameters, and methods used to prepare the mineral resource estimates are set out in the technical report. This report, prepared by RSW Inc in 2009, can be found on the SEDAR website. SOURCE: Power Nickel Inc. A Leslie's Pool Supplies retail outlet made for a strange rally point for any group of people, even moreso now that the whole strip mall along what had been Concord Pike had long since closed. The stainless letters spelled the forgotten name of the shopping center, still proudly adorned the top of the diagram of blank signs ensured at least the brick obelisk was a conveniently obvious marker for the men to find and make preparations for assaulting the jail.
'Morningstar' squadron had swelled their cell's numbers to well over twenty by absorbing the miscellaneous fragments of other cells, whose skills were more generalized. The name carried over to the newly formed Strike Force by virtue of being both the largest and the lynchpin of the operation's success.
This was the largest force of the three organized groups they'd split into, each aiming to try and hit the larger jails along Route 202, the other two branches making a target list of their own. Vendetta had given them an extra half hour to at least get themselves close to in-position, but with only one shortwave had no way of knowing if they would coordinate their strike. He was a known element to everyone even if only by name. At least Elias's words stayed true; All seemed very familiar and well-practiced with their carried weaponry. More importantly, none contested his assigned leadership or questioned his orders.
Vaughn cradled the RPG he'd been given, eyeing the well-lit building just over the carefully landscaped hill. The last had been over a half hour ago. The box-mart across the old highway was the temporary headquarters of the repositioned Troop One, after the suburbs near Camp Death had been cleared, likely soon to be repositioned again. But the size of the old box-mart seemed to indicate several things, that it was largely indefensible, could contain a fair few prisoners, and by its proximity to Camp Death, could be useful to strike regardless.
The flow of traffic was unusually heavy for being well before the crack of dawn. Perhaps people were trying their luck getting up old 202 to try and reach the border that way, after having no luck along other closed border checkpoints. There was a feeling of self-consciousness in carrying heavy weapons out in the open along a suburban highway most had driven along during peacetime, the juxtaposition of old familiar environment and newly familiar activity showing just how much their lives had changed. Moreso as cars rolled along it like it was a Friday night of olde, the two lives- old and new, bumping shoulders for a moment.
"You ready?" He asked, snapping them back to the present.
Mutters of assent was good enough. Haltingly, everyone in the mishmashed strike team moved toward the precinct's bright lights, taking advantage of the long shadows and occasional noise of the passing cars.
It was an unassuming building, the repurposed garrison made out of some retail outlet built back in the turbulent seventies, all brick and little else but tiny glass doors, with not even windows for the occupants to know the impending violence had been approaching. What era will this be known as? Early Imperial? Resistance? Revolutionary? Wondered the teen, as he leveled it at the lobby. Good? Bad? Hell, I'm just the man with the gun.
Everyone levelled their weapons as once, and Vaughn held a hand high. "We're here to liberate the prison, not blow it sky high," he chuckled. It was hardly armored or reinforced- or at least, so it seemed to him. And if it was, then the Data Center had shown the virtue of striking the same spot with concentrated fire beat showering it with dispersed impacts.
At least the glass door looked normal enough. "Bump and grind, forward. Forward!" He hissed. "Aim at that- there- the front door." Easy enough for the homemade launcher to hit, and these were arguably of the lowest utility if things went sideways. Elias had taught him asset management well- it was a waste to throw your best equipment at a stationary target. While the design was tried-and-tested, Vaughn still took a few steps away.
The improvised launcher let out a metallic clunk, and with a surprisingly subdued noise and recoil the projectile was sent tumbling freely, end over end, the cap blown clean off the improvised launcher. A second later, the giant projectile more than made up for it as the round smashed through the glass door, taking the automatic door slightly off the rails and bowing slightly inward- before then blowing both them and a hail of glass fragments outward as the detonation went off inside the main lobby.
Someone in a security forces uniform staggered out.
"Infantrymen, Fire!" Vaughn roared to the infantrymen, most of Morningstar dutifully restraining themselves as a hail of bullets sprayed into the storefront and even stitched up the exterior brickwork. Clearly, some insurgents were better trained than others judging by the tracer rounds and slowly tapering off rounds.
"Advance and reload! Morningstar, spread out and cover!"
The smoke and dust was subdued, at least for now, and left them with a surprisingly clear view into the front entrance. Red streaks were painted up on the wall, black and grey of smoke-dusted debris mixed in like a spin-art collage.
The lobby's contents were an absolute shambles- everything set on a ledge had been knocked about, including the ledges and desks themselves. The security forces inside responded by charging out the main doors to follow just a second later.
A hail of gunfire met them, most of the armored troopers flinching reflexively, their armor plates overlapping and protecting their wearer. A few reflexively tried returning fire despite the harsh stings of rounds tugging on the mix of fabric, bulletproof weave, and shattering off the neosteel plate they wore. The gunfire never let up on those unfortunate few who had charged out from their cover, the complete lack of coordination, dissimilar reloading times from infantry with unequal amounts of time spent with their weapons. Effective equipment and enthusiasm was undercut by poor training, surprise, and total lack of a plan to counter being outnumbered. Morningstar, on the other hand, had the numbers, the angle, and the element of surprise.
One by one the Security Forces lay flat. Either they were dead, had the fight knocked out of them, or were trying to present as minimal target as they could while they lined up their own rifles to return fire. It was hard to say for certain what the intent was, but the outcome was little different. Round after round continued pouring into them from dozens of unevenly sized magazines, an RPG or two sending the bodies of any who tried opening fire tumbling, their limbs likely held on by the durable material underneath. When they landed, their bodies folded like misshapen laundry, pressed into unnatural shapes with the wearer still inside.
The whole front engagement was over in less than a minute. A pale, non-gauntleted hand waved frantically from behind a shattered brick front, red streaking down the fingers.
"Hold!" Vaughn shouted. "Identify!" The hand continued waving, and Vaughn shoved an unwitting volunteer forward to pull the man out from behind, to reveal a man in a stained tee shirt with a dazed expression and blood dripping from a series of scratches on his cheeks, cut in like a cat's claws had raked over them.
"Civilian!" Vaughn bellowed over his ringing ears. "Any others inside?"
The man shook his head and mouthed 'no,' his voice seemingly too hoarse- perhaps from having spent an untold amount of time screaming.
The man was wrong- there were, or at least 'had been' more security forces inside. A sudden blast and the tinkering of shrapnel caused Vaughn to duck, then charge forward, his improvised explosive launcher discarded, swinging his shotgun around from his back to rest in his hands. A Technical had tried to leave via a service bay exit, apparently not even managing to round the corner before an RPG wielded by a Morningstar veteran had upended the uparmored pickup as it pulled out.
A survivor crawled from the wreckage, and Vaughn sprinted forward, pressing the barrel against the shivering man's temple as he raised his empty hands. The wet splatter kicked high, and Vendetta checked for any other survivors, the smoking tip of his shotgun wafting grey in the fluorescent tubes of the old retail outlet.
The technicals were indeed tough, he noted, but the round seemed to have flown into a wheel well, bypassing the plating. No one else inside seemed to be moving- yet still, he made certain. There'd be no theatrics of announcing himself to an enemy who played dead by standing in the open and giving orders, letting them try and exact some measure of revenge, or gasping out some warning to the shil'vati. No, a strike was to be calculated, and that calculation was to be total.
Two minutes later and a clear picture of the aftermath had emerged. Over five hundred prisoners rescued from the cells, cramped together like sardines, hastily erected concrete laid in a grid backstopping a prefab prison. PVC pipes ran from room to room for toilets no less roughshod in their construction, set straight into the dirty linoleum. Quite a few of the prisoners were deafened somewhat. The skeleton crew of Security Forces personnel hadn't stood a chance- supposedly, most were out, working from some kind of list, or perhaps had finished their shift after a long day of throwing people into prison.
Vaughn gestured with the shotgun. "There's your exit, people. If you're still undecided about the Shil'vati, then this was your wake-up call. If you're still undecided about us, then I'm not sure what to tell you. We just risked our lives to save yours. You want to pay it back? You can either pay it forward by helping us with the next prison, or you can help the Emperor of Mankind. Blankets, food, water, soldiers, guns, ammo, whatever you've got that you think might help. He hasn't said it, but I reckon you all owe him, if you've got a decent bone in your body, you'll at least bring him something, offer to try and help. If you want, you can listen in on the radio for instructions, and if you haven't got a shortwave, I'll separate off a few from our strike squad who can fill you in and get you there, if you feel like chipping in on the war effort."
Vaughn lowered the shotgun, taking a shell off his bandoleer and loading it in to replace the one he'd fired.
"That went well," Parker remarked. "And not a bad speech. Short, to the point, and all that. Honestly, I wish I'd brought a whole crew. One for the close-up on that impact. But, uh, that execution..."
"Completely necessary," Vaughn snapped, irritatedly. "That guy was fatally wounded. Putting him out of his misery was an act of mercy. And you'll remember to narrate that, if you got that on film."
"Of course." Parker didn't deny where he'd been aiming the camera- saving Vaughn at least the headache of reviewing the footage, and then having to kill Parker, if it turned out he'd been lying.
"I'm starting to think of these jail cells as something more like a pinata full of prizes. Namely, insurgents and good PR," he muttered. Truth be told, he'd wanted more of a fight. Vaughn pulled the radio from his pocket, and sent out the broadcast. "Done here. 202 North has been cleared. About four fifty good to go in some sense of the word, though where's anyone's guess. Tried sending them your way, don't know if they'll take it. Another fifty will need medical treatment. No casualties on our end. Surprise was total. We've got pictures. No enemies taken prisoner."
Vendetta stared around the lobby, an idea slowly dawning on him.
"Hey! Hey hey hey! Snag armor off any of the ones that you can. Grab any goods that are stocked up, and arm up anyone who says they're headed to Camp Death with the weapons the guys had here. Come on, we can't stay too long here. You-" he pointed at a man who had held down the trigger on his rifle, spraying the building at full auto. "-You're fucking useless at fighting. Gather up the ones who are able and willing to fight, get them packed into a civilian-style police cruiser, and drive them on over to Camp Death. Everyone, help him load up. Get everything you can out of the Evidence lockers into the trunks- they can fit a lot, trust me, I'd know. Camp Death's going to need goodies. Come on, move, people, move!"
Morningstar Squadron had re-mustered on Vendetta.
"Alright, now what?" They almost seemed eager for more.
A smile crept across Vendetta's face, invisible to all as he pointed at the row of vehicle keys.
"I think it's time we hit 141 and a couple more," he muttered, pulling it off the hook. "Now...wheelman, shotgun, or turret?"
"Accidentally Cut Content"
[Author's Note: Hey Everyone. I made a really dumb mistake and included part of the next chapter in the previous one's end in my rush to get it out the door. So the first couple paragraphs will be a repeat, but this IS a new chapter. I even updated those first four or five paragraphs slightly.]
I couldn't sleep well on the cot that night. Though I noticed hours ticked by, every moment seemed to be spent tossing and turning. I even tried resting with the mask off, held in my hands, but the risk to my identity being discovered if anyone barged in caused me enough stress to worsen the situation. Eventually, I gave up, kicked the covers off and donned the mask again, making my rounds around the camp, trying to calm myself down by taking a midnight stroll. Instead, I felt eyes countless following me, and I had to force myself to stand tall for them. For the thousandth time, I thought of this as my Valley Forge.
As I patrolled, I could hear whispered prayers, muttered plans of action, and mercifully, snores. At least some were getting some sleep. I could see orange lights reflecting off the clouds from where I knew Wilmington lay. It seemed Vaughn was keeping busy, if indeed it was his handiwork.
A few shipment inspections and a routine update from a sentry later, and I felt caught up to speed. I noticed Radio from the corner of my eye, seemingly also unable to sleep.
I almost jumped a foot in the air when I felt the tap on my shoulder, only to find G-Man's mask staring into mine. How strange that such a haunting visage was a comfort to me.
"Hey. Can't sleep?" He sounded surprisingly serene. Or maybe it was just tired resignation. His hands seemed stuck in a familiar claw-like shape after holding the soldering iron for so long, and my fingers ached in sympathy. My mask's filters took much of the scent of smoke I could smell from the distant fires, but I was sure that if I wasn't wearing my mask that G-Man would smell faintly of molten silver solder. I'd wondered how we'd repaired and updated so many railguns so quickly. Now I knew what he'd put himself through.
"I can't," I confessed. "G-Man, I'm sorry what happened with your father. Hell of a birthday." I hadn't even had a chance to give him the present I'd bought him- a couple new filters, and vintage craftsman toolkit, 'from before they sold out,' as Verns had phrased it. The memory of his voice already felt distant, somehow.
"Wasn't your fault. Even if Town Hall wasn't your big idea to get them to retaliate, you know? Then they'd still have done something. But, uh, thanks for saying that. And thanks for trying to get dad out. I'll remember that." George said quietly, then the conversation ended when he turned away and went to the edge of the embankment. Just like that.
I could never quite get a read on him, but I wanted to respect his distance. Whatever he was feeling, he seemed to want to feel it alone, and to keep his own counsel on the matter.
I continued course toward Radio.
"Any word from Miskatonic?" I asked hopefully.
Radio offered a noncommittal shrug, then dropped it in a hurry, raising one hand to massage his chest. "They say 'this is your war,' but did ship us a small container."
"I saw."
I hadn't exactly expected them to line up alongside us in the trenches in their white coats, but I'd hoped they'd have had some kind of wonder drug or noxious gas we might deploy. Something toxic to the Shil'vati but not us. The best they'd given us so far were experimental bullets and toxic-tipped arrows and knives, the former of which supposedly could potentially the armor, if fired with enough force and impacted with a good angle. If true, then I supposed they might be moderately useful in an ambush, and they had helpfully included a pair of compound bows. I had conducted a pretty decent survey of the defense, but I hadn't thought to ask if any were experienced archers. I also couldn't imagine taking someone off a railgun, large caliber rifle, or even an old cannon to hand them a bow and arrow without feeling like I was somehow offering them an insult without equipping it myself, and there was better I could think to do with the remaining minutes before the Shil'vati would inevitably come looking than to practice.
They'd fallen out of favor for a reason, and it wasn't that the earliest guns outperformed bows.
They had also supplied a small cache of rifles that were more likely to pulverize than penetrate unless the armor had been compromised already. These were still appreciated, but hardly the game changer I wanted in return for all we'd sent them.
Then Radio leaned in, voice kept conspiratorially low. "They did, however, mention an exfiltration for you."
Sam had been right, I wouldn't get back anything close to the value of what I'd sent out. At least, not unless I was willing to abandon everything and everyone, to cut and run for my life. Such a decision would be the inglorious end of the revolution, spelling doom for everyone in it, and all of humanity's culture. I'd forever be remembered as a coward, if I was so lucky to be remembered at all.
"Well, I'm not going."
"Okay, but here's a real head-scratcher. Did you show them where Camp Death is? I've been careful not to broadcast our coordinates, and my little helpers haven't been talking with Miskatonic. And the person on the shortwave mentioned that the border would free up tomorrow morning, then mentioned the interstate right up against the back of our base as a meeting point. They said Last Exit Before Pennsylvania. That's right there." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "And I didn't mention broadcasting without a cat's paw or relay. I mean there's a chance they triangulated, but throwing together a plan that fast? Nah, man, they knew."
I searched my memory. "I'm certain that I didn't mention it to them...did Hex? She did that internship. No, wait, she got picked up and dropped off at Warehouse Base. Unless she mentioned something on the drive past? She said they were somewhere North." Now that Radio had mentioned it, I was left with a bit of a puzzle. How did they know? How much did they know about us?
"They had to have known somehow. And if they didn't know before and just figured our location out, then I bet you it's not long before the Shil'vati figure it out themselves and come sniffing," Radio resignedly threw a hand up. "Should we update the signal? Start directing people straight here?"
We had numbers, yes, but we could still do to take more in, especially if the fighting dragged on or casualties mounted higher than I projected. "How long until they're sure we're here?"
Radio yawned under his mask, the animated glass-plated mask he wore misinterpreting it with an ASCII shocked ":O" face. "We've been broadcasting all night, so, who knows?"
"Well, if it was just a signal they picked up on any random given day, how long would it typically take for the Shil'vati to muster a response?"
"Depends on the day." At my silent stare, he objected further. "They sometimes respond pretty fast to that sort of thing, but these aren't normal times, E. They used to come to check out wherever I broadcast from within an hour or two or two, but remember, they've kind of got their hands full right now thanks to Vendetta's jailbreaks. Plus, there's so many more signals." He checked the screen of his shortwave and chuckled, then lightly massaged his chest again. "I'm sure we've already gone way past."
"Alright. If we see anyone snooping around us, add our location to the broadcast. That way, anyone in the resistance or is sympathetic but isn't sure where Camp Death is can find their way here. In the meantime, though, I still think we're best not leaking it. At least with the sentries having set in the final claymores and outer defenses, we should be well-situated to ward off anything they throw at us."
"Maybe. Maybe not," George said from behind me, and I froze.
"Why not?"
He'd helped build this place. He'd know any weaknesses as well as his father.
"They might have cloaking tech, or some other means of infiltration," his voice was a dry rasp.
I shuddered thinking about it. "That's a good point," I muttered. "Assassination and recovery might be up their alley...except, I think they're terrified of what losing me might mean for their hostages."
"I'll be honest. I don't think she cares at this point," G-Man countered. I couldn't fault his gloomy disposition. I could just hope that he didn't want something bad to happen to us, to balance out that something bad had happened to him, from some weird sense of fairness.
"Yeah?"
"Think about it for a second. What happens if you die? Then what does that let her do if that happens?"
It was with a startle I realized he had a good point. Azraea had committed to a shocking all-in, something that would shake the political landscape and memories of countless denizens of the state. Months of carefully planned schemes involving carefully planned defensive patrols meant to reinforce one another, frustrate, and hinder our operations had culminated in us adapting, learning. We thought we had her beaten, especially when we destroyed her monitoring, data collection, and reporting asset in Something Else Square. Then she'd pulled something like this out of a hat, catching us totally flat-footed, rounding up who-knew how many of us before we could muster. What other assumptions had I made that were incorrect? Would she hold fire, if she knew where I was if it meant sparing the hostages? Or were they now just an 'acceptable, if regrettable' loss? When your opponent becomes unpredictable, issues arise, especially when you're counting on them to do certain things.
If it was, then I'd just done her work for her, and all of us would be dead the moment she figured out where we were, and at least the end would come faster than I knew it had arrived.
I realized I was staring up into the orange-lit cloudy night sky. I could voice none of this, not without undermining morale and potentially sparking a panic.
"If she was going to start bombarding the state, she'd have started already by now," I chuckled. "The borders are sealed, right? Why wait? Why bother trying to build some sense of dread? She's not a vampire who feeds on fear. I choose to not be afraid of what she may do. I instead intend to plan around it, to the extent that we can. Besides, if I die, what would the twins do to the hostages?"
George made a disappointed growl, his sore hands turning from awkward claws into shaking fists. "That may be the point. If the Twins do anything to the hostages in retaliation for your death, then maybe as long as she didn't pull the trigger, she thinks she'll be absolved of whatever damage their deaths mean to them."
I wasn't sure she thought that way. Heck, after months, the woman was still an absolute enigma to me. Governess Bal'shir, I understood- the flurry of speeches and photo-ops and handshakes at civic meetings with 'literally-who's-that' of 'what-community' had been carte blanche for us to grow. Ministriva was a lying snake, and once we pieced that together, I ripped her apart. But Azraea? What drove the Fleet Admiral to come down here? Duty. There wasn't any sort of hard policy she followed that I could tell, not that I knew Shil'vati military doctrine well, being an outsider such as I was. Perhaps it was the greater liberty afforded her of being both Governess and General that made it seem like her plans shifted and changed in ways that made it hard for me to keep up. Or maybe she was just at such a rank and in such a position of power to where she could make her judgment calls. If so, that begged the question: What was 'the line' for her? I had a feeling I'd somehow crossed it already. Probably Radio's tape of me fucking the Empress, if I was to be honest. Most unfair to be judged for something that hadn't been my decision, though I doubted an apology from either of us would amount to much.
I looked over to my Lieutenants. They'd helped carry me this far. I'd be foolish to ignore them now. What could I do to at least mitigate the risk that he was right, and there was someone looking to kill me, right here and now?
"Alright, fine, you've convinced me. Instruct the sentries to get the next dozen people who we intake to help patrol the inner perimeter, and to keep a watch for...well, I mean, a stealthy seven foot tall purple alien with giant tits?"
"Something invisible," George supplied.
"Alright, for anything shifting in the tall grasses that they can't immediately see- I can't really ask them to keep an eye out for something they can't see, can I?" I was suddenly too tired to think properly.
"I'll explain it," G-Man offered.
"And I'll get the sentries ready to take over the radio, explaining how it works, then I'll try heading to bed, too," Radio offered, and I realized that a yawn sounded very strange through a voice modulator- his ASCII helmet seemed to fritz out again for a second.
"I should change my sleeping quarters, too," I muttered. "They'll almost certainly check the command cabin for me, if they manage to enter. I'll pick a tunnel- uh...somewhere."
"Might be smart. Could be they'll try and take out the explosives shed, too. Make it look like an accident on our part, get rid of any hostages, and then get a free pass to exact vengeance on the state. Got anywhere in mind?"
I thought to myself. Where might be a good resting area? There were many tunnels that led to bunkers, firing outposts, and even to stowage areas. Any one of them might do in theory, but I knew of one that overlooked one of the two streams that ran along the side of Camp Death. I didn't want to situate myself either too low to where I was on the very front of the lines- why make an assassin's job even easier by putting myself on the perimeter, after all? But the creek should make a pleasant bit of white noise- and also get me away from the center shed. "Probably facing North, along Perkins run. G-Man, you look absolutely dead on your feet. Get some rest if you can, you've certainly done enough and gone through enough for today."
"There's...still things to do."
"There always will be. If the others are finished doing their repairs, lock the shed," I muttered. "I know the hostages are in there, so post a sentry or two there, too, to watch over the entrance. You're right that she may try some kind of underhanded tactic." It wouldn't do much if they decided to set charges against the side or something, and the subsequent explosion would be, in a word, 'cataclysmic'. "This was supposed to be a relaxing walk to help me rest..." I scratched at my chin under the mask, feeling the beginnings of the few scratchy hairs that had grown since I'd last shaved, and feeling the cool fresh air without the filter as the wind kicked up.
"Sorry," G-Man offered sheepishly. "I'll go tell 'em."
While he ambled off, I followed Radio back to his pile of equipment.
"Before we split then, one last thing."
"Yeah?" Radio asked.
"Have we recovered Verns?" I asked Radio. "Any word?"
"No, not that I've heard," Radio confessed. "Vendetta's been mostly quiet, I think to hide his heading from anyone who might be listening, but I know that he's struck at least three jails and counting. Some of the ones he's freed are trickling up to us here on foot, and it seems he and Morningstar are acting like a human wrecking ball. The troops are calling it Operation Smash-and-Grab."
"Smash-and-grab," I laughed, thinking of the pun. "I like it. Do we have a more recent headcount?"
"Sam said we've got enough to last about three days of continuous, round-the-clock fighting with the hundreds of people we have here. If we get a resupply run- well, I suppose it would depend upon how big a hole gets blasted in the encirclement. Or, well, something to that effect. Look, man, I'm 'Radio', not 'Telephone,' and I don't have the head for this logistics shit that you two do. You want to talk to Sam, you get the man on the radio yourself, or ask one of the Sentries I'm sticking here to manage the comms. Point being, you try and get hold of him. I'm done for the night."
I could have said something witty back, but it felt counterproductive, and would only delay the sleep I was now well overdue for.
"I've got an idea for an update. The ones Vendetta's letting loose? They can gather supplies and wait for the signal to reinforce, or to agitate, or can organize people into a more focused group, one that can punch through whatever blockade they try and form up. It'll also force the Shil'vati to not concentrate forces on our back door-" I pointed back at the interstate. "Even if they clear them out, the opportunity for us to encircle and destroy and then break out is too high for them to really try to do a mass deployment along our back." Sam was, I knew, something of a career criminal. Able to rub elbows with the worst elements of humanity. He was a facilitator, I knew, not really a leader. "Can you tell him-"
Radio was already fiddling with the dial. "Already on it," he muttered. "Lotta profit in looting, should be easy for him to steer people with that, or something. Get some sleep, E."
I went up to a sentry, requisitioned a sleeping bag someone had helpfully brought, went into a trench and told him where I'd be if I was needed. I waved to Radio, and crawled into the gunnery tunnel, almost stepping on another four people already laying in it. I loosened my laces, clutched my sheathed knife, and fell into a fitful sleep.

2023.05.30 10:25 Fit_Trainer1878 Foolproof Guide to becoming a Ruler Designed God-Emperor - 2023 EDITION
This is the updated version of
u/mykeedee's wonderful
guide written with their express persmission.
Whilst most of the contents of the guide are still golden, the mod has gone through a lot of changes since 2020, prompting me to write this update. As such, I would like to humbly introduce the 2023 edition with OP's from the original.
"Ever wanted to be an invincible Mary Sue slaughtering your way across Tamriel and dominating the continent without cheating or dying? Well unlike in Vanilla CK2 Elder Kings has a defined path to success for this outcome with zero RNG involved. Many of us have done this, but there's a bit of inherent knowledge of the mechanics required to do it with minimal headaches, hence this guide.
This is a guide for people who own Jade Dragon, don't ask how if you don't have it because I don't know."
The guide is tooled towards making you a high-stat Legendary Pureblooded Vampire Mage. A legendary mage can remove bad congenital traits, add positive ones, and amongst the many OP benefits of being a mage in the Elder Scrolls. A Pureblooded Vampire is immortal, can sire children, and will never be exposed as one unless if you feed or tell a friend/lover.
AI can be set at extreme handicap, the AI having more money is ironically a good thing for you
Step One: Selecting your starting position.
The strat is going to require an immense amount of cash. As raiding is not limited to certain religions in EK1, you would want to play someone coastal and could raid literally everywhere, a patrician, or ideally both. Whilst you could technically do this strat as genuinely anyone in Mundus, you are going to look real silly trying to raid anyone as a single-holding count in the middle of Alinor.
Step Two: Selecting your natural lifespan.
The ruler designer ages you per good trait and de-ages you per bad trait. Playing as a long-lived mer is obviously the best foil to this caveat and you could simply ignore this guide to play as a 70 year old genetically perfect bosmer. However, the guide also works excellently for short-lived races (if you're not actively trying to age your character) or for starting off as a 16 year old elf.
Step Three: Designing your character.
Traits: You are NOT to gain vampirism and immortality from ruler designer. As such, ignore all of the vampire traits. You are however looking towards becoming a legendary mage. To do so you will start your character,
STRICTLY, as Experienced Mage.
For positive traits, especially congenitals, we recommend the following as they are either impossible or an extreme b*tch to get and are remarkably valuable
- Genius - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Tall - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Lucky - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Left Handed - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Shrewd - an extreme b*tch to get. Practically unobtainable within your own life time
- Daedric Scion - you are some daedric prince's spawn.
- Erudite - an extreme b*tch to get. Practically unobtainable within your own life time
- Any of the character history traits - You will start off as 16 year old child of who knows what. You want to add any of these in, I prefer Former Soldier
- Your preferred Birthsign
For negative traits, especially congenitals, we recommend the following as they are removable, insignificant, or can be dealt with
- All of the bad congenitals (dark bluish purple background in icons) except dwarf, inbred, slow/imbecile, unlucky - can be magicked away by Master Mage and replaced by good congenitals by Legendary Mage
- Bastard/Adopted - get both. A ruler designed character has no parents and the negatives are cancelled by your super high stats.
- Drunkard, Lunatic, Possessed - can be magicked away by Master Mage
- Uncouth - can be removed and even replaced with Groomed by being a member of the Scenarists
- Gluttonous, Arbitrary, Craven, Slothful - will be removed by the passage of time
- Cruel - is actually a positive if you want to become a Necromancer
This is a risky trait to add but if you think you're lucky and will gain magicka early, go take Scurvy which you will be curing ASAP.
Stats: Put a base 10 points in all your stats, then pump your T
otal Learning to at least 30 and put what's left into Martial. Anything north of 50 martial will ensure your char is a nightmare to beat when leading an army. Add 5 clicks to fertility if you want an easier time spawning kids.
If you've stacked so many negative traits, you would notice that your char is still 16 years old. If this is so, go wild in dumping points into Martial until around 90 at most as the designer will Stack Overflow your Martial back to zero if you go anywhere above that. At 80+ martial, your ruler will practically win every single battle.
Here are some more recommendations for the stat dumps after 80-90 Martial, rationale, and ranked by importance
- IMPORTANT - Dump some points into Intrigue until reaching a total somewhere north of 36-40. this will make it easier to do jobs as a member of the Thieves Guild or the local version of it
- Important - Dump some points into Learning until reaching somewhere north of 45-50 for a larger Magicka pool. You will need it. A bit higher if you want to be a Necromancer.
- Somewhat less important - A Stewardship skill of 40-50+ improved by boosts from Black Book quests will give you enough Demesne Limit to personally hold all the tower holdings (White-Gold, Greensap, Adamantine, Crystal-Like), and get an impressive income as a patrician
- Unimportant - Just have a base of 18-20 for Diplomacy. By the end of this guide, your vassals should immensely like/fear you regardless.
Keep dumping points into stats/traits until your character ceases to be 16 years old.
Religion Publicly-worshipping short lived mortals gain a discount for Favor (Ardor ingame) interactions. If you want to save time as a short lived race and is fine with the likelihood of becoming middle aged, start off as publicly Cult of Hermaeus Mora. Elsewise, start off as publicly Cult of Molag Bal. Either works as you are going to be worshipping both of these in sequence.
Why are we worshipping Hermaeus Mora - We are going to use the Oghma Infinium twice to graduate our Experienced Mage to Master Mage then to Legendary Mage. We can also use the Black Book events to boost our stats even further.
Why are we worshipping Molag Bal - To gain Pureblooded Vampirism
Step Four: Playing the Game
To gain benefits from Daedric Princes, we have to spend Ardor. To gain Ardor, we would have to sacrifice a ton of Artifacts. As the PC has no cost-efficient ways to craft artifacts for sacrifice, we would have to steal these from elsewhere in the world.
So upon starting the game, you are to join your local Thieves Guild or version of it. Upon joining, you will be given the option to personally steal artifacts, as long as the target is located in the same continent, as opposed to having someone else doing it for you. If you've started off with an impressively high score in Intrigue, you will successfully steal the following artifacts around 95% of the time and at markedly lower cost. These artifacts are usually the easiest to steal, the most prevalent, and are ordered according to my subjective ranking by cost-efficiency
- Silver Ring - steal for 25-50 drakes, sacrificed for 150 Ardor.
- Superior Mithril Armour - steal for 75-150 drakes, sacrificed for 400 ardor
- Superior Steel Sword - steal for 25-50 drakes, sacrifice for 100 ardor
- Mithril Armour - steal for 75-150 drakes, sacrificed for 300 ardor
As stealing requires gold, gold will be gained either by raiding or trade posts. If you're a patrician near or a non-patrician on the Imperial Isle, slap a trade post on there IMMEDIATELY and forget it until later. In this time of the game, gold is mostly gained by raiding.
Whilst you start off as an unbeatable 80+ Martial god, you will still need the numbers to raid down holdings. I suggest dabbling into Necromancy and summoning up risen dead armies for this purpose, unless if you started out as a King/Emperor with an acceptable amount of vassal levies. Do take care as learning Necromancy quickly, and the Necromancer's Ring and Necromancer's Amulet, comes with a significant semi-temporary health malus. So cure that Scurvy ASAP using Expert Mage.
So the gameplay is
- a loop of raiding, stealing an artifact, sacrificing to daedric prince
- once you have gained what you need from the respective prince (reminder: two uses of Oghma Infinium for Hermaeus, one request for Pureblooded vampirism from Molag), take Scholarship focus, build Observatory, study Oblivion, and secretly convert to the other prince. Alternatively, you can secretly convert if you personally own a county that is the other prince's holy site.
- a loop of raiding, stealing an artifact, sacrificing to daedric prince. if mastelegendary mage, simultaneously improve your congenitals (get brawny, strong, perceptive, agile, powerful/melodious voice, attractive, hardy)
- once you have gained what you need from the respective prince (reminder: two uses of Oghma Infinium for Hermaeus, one request for Pureblooded vampirism from Molag), the world is your oyster. You are now the most dangerous being in Aurbis, a Legendary Pureblooded Vampire mage.
That's it

Street Fighter 6 provides the fast and furious action you'd expect from the refined fighting series, offering a dynamic cast of characters, new control modes to make it more accessible, and a variety of features to keep you busy. Its story mode is a campy take on the Street Fighter universe that doesn't always land the winning blow, however; while it's filled with distractions and civilian fighters to take on, it can be a little repetitive and shallow. Still, the technical foundations that Street Fighter stands on are as solid as ever, and with a whole world to battle online, there's a lot of fighting on the menu in what is once again a polished, exciting fighting experience that will keep fans engaged for years.
Console Creatures - Patrick Tremblay - Recommended
Without a doubt, Street Fighter 6 is the best and most accessible entry in the long-running series. Anyone can jump in, and there is a lot of content to keep you busy and practicing on the road to World Champion.
Cultured Vultures - Ash Bates - 10 / 10
A sublime fighting game masterpiece from a company at the peak of their powers, Street Fighter 6 is utterly incredible.
Destructoid - Chris Moyse - 9.5 / 10
Simply put, Street Fighter 6 is one of the very best entries in series history.
Eurogamer - Wesley Yin-Poole - Recommended
Street Fighter 6 rights the wrongs of its predecessor while dragging the famous fighting game franchise kicking and screaming into the modern era.
Fextralife - Castielle - 8.4 / 10
Capcom delivers and checks the majority of the boxes when it comes to the classic and new features of Street Fighter 6. It heads down a different direction making it more casual while maintaining the core values of the game, allowing it to be a mainstream fighting game for all players. However, with its awkward performance on the PlayStation 4. The concern is, will World Tour have more content and will the performance issues be fixed. We hope these will be addressed. In the meantime, it is recommended to play Street Fighter 6 on current-gen consoles and PC to fully appreciate and enjoy this game.
GamesHub - Edmond Tran - 5 / 5
Street Fighter 6 is an exceedingly good fighting game. But more than that, it’s an excellent training tool. It’s a fulfilling adventure. It’s a lively community gathering place. It’s an endearingly idealistic and inspiring world of appreciation for martial arts and friendly competition, exceptionally executed in every respect.
GameGrin - Mike Crewe - 9.5 / 10
The most complete Street Fighter title to date, Street Fighter 6 is a must-play for fighting game fans, and one to consider even if you're not familiar with the genre. An engaging, stylish beat 'em up that could well be king of the mountain for years to come.
Game Informer - Elijah Gonzalez - 9.5 / 10
Between its cohesive aesthetic, the bounty of clever features, and crisp central gameplay, it’s one of the most impressive entries the genre has seen in some time.
GamesRadar+ - Andi Hamilton - 5 / 5
Street Fighter 6 offers the most flexible, versatile, and expressive combat seen in the series to date. With its fantastic suite of game modes and diverse character roster, Street Fighter 6 has something to offer every type of fighting game fan.
GameSpot - Jason Fanelli - 9 / 10
Capcom's flagship fighter is back in form with intricate but approachable fighting mechanics and a feature-rich package.
Gaming Nexus - Joseph Moorer - 10 / 10
Capcom has given us a complete game right out of the box. The single player experiences are enormous. The online experience is perfect. Street Fighter lore is littered in every nook and cranny of this game. There are modes and modes within modes. This is one of the best Street Fighter games in the history of the franchise. If Capcom hurt you in the past, this is their apology. Street Fighter 6 is a new classic that people will be playing for years to come.
GamingTrend - Jack Zustiak and Abdul Saad - 95 / 100
Street Fighter 6 takes the series to the next stage with a wildly fun fighting system that emphasizes personal choice. Each mainline Street Fighter tends to define its era of fighting games in some way, and Street Fighter 6 confidently steps forward to that next era. From its battle system to its bevvy of modes such as World Tour, it dives deep into everything that makes fighting games great.
GGRecon - Jack Roberts - 4.5 / 5
With a slew of fighting games on the horizon like Tekken 8 and the recently announced Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6 is leading the charge in the most vibrant way possible. With a series of character guides, story campaigns for classic characters and a fantastic open world for you to take the fight to the streets, it feels like everything I could have asked for from a modern Street Fighter entry.
Despite being the sixth game in the mainline series, Street Fighter 6 is easily one of the most accessible and makes for a fantastic entry point for newer players, while still resonating with series veterans.
Glitched Africa - Marco Cocomello - 9.5 / 10
Street Fighter 6 could be the best fighting game I have played in a very long time. I am no master at these games and I don’t run out to buy them at launch. However, the game is very fun to play and its real draw for me was its accessibility. I felt good at it even though I really wasn’t. Of course, this is also completely optional too so if you’re a veteran, you’ll enjoy this just as much as noob.
God is a Geek - Sean Smith - 10 / 10
Street Fighter 6 is without question the best fighting game package I have ever played, and will keep you going far longer than a one-on-one fighter has any right to be able to. A true classic.
IGN - Mitchell Saltzman - 9 / 10
Street Fighter 6 is the most feature-rich a Street Fighter has ever been at launch, but even beyond that, it's roster of 18 characters is excellent, the new mechanics revitalize the one-on-one fighting formula, and it absolutely nails all of the little things that make for a stellar fighting game.
Inverse - De'Angelo Epps - 10 / 10
Capcom’s latest takes everything you’d expect from the father of the fighting genre and turns it up to 10. There’s something for everyone here, with no fat or filler to ruin the experience. Street Fighter 6 is the best fighting game experience in a long time, and in the years to come, its impact and legacy could be every bit as massive as Street Fighter 2.
Kotaku - Kenneth Shepard - Unscored
It’s a sublime fighter that makes smart changes that honor what makes the series great.
Metro GameCentral - GameCentral - 9 / 10
A far better launch experience than its predecessor, with an excellent fighting system and a wide range of options and features that transcend the usual genre traditions.
MonsterVine - Spencer Legacy - 4.5 / 5
Street Fighter 6 is a grand fighting game experience that just keeps building on the series’ strong foundation. Though the World Tour mode and new characters aren’t as stand-out as they could be, the core gameplay is excellent and there’s plenty to enjoy.
Nexus Hub - Keegan Govender - 9 / 10
Street Fighter 6 is not just a comeback for Capcom, but for fighting games entering next-generation consoles as a whole. It feels like a passion project made by a group of people who were tasked by Capcom to make the last Street Fighter we would ever want to play. With its fast-paced gameplay, beautifully implemented new mechanics, and timeless visuals, Street Fighter 6 has solidified itself among the fighting game hall of fame.
Niche Gamer - NECRO XIII - 9 / 10
Ultimately, Street Fighter 6 delivers the fun and proves to be one of the most engaging fighting games of the year and of most recent memory.
PCGamesN - Christian Vaz - 9 / 10
This is the first Street Fighter game in a long time where it feels like players of all skill levels are welcome. While World Tour mode is disappointing, the sheer scope of SF6 means you don't need to wait for the inevitable Ultra Edition before jumping in.
PC Gamer - Mollie Taylor - 89 / 100
Minor technical issues and questionable monetisation scuff what is otherwise one of the best fighting games we've seen in the last decade.
Polygon - Axel Bosso - Unscored
Street Fighter 6 is the ultimate fighting game toolbox
Press Start - James Mitchell - 9 / 10
Street Fighter 6 rights the wrongs of its past with multiple modes for every player and strong battle systems like no other. It invites new players into the fold with well implemented, simpler control schemes, without losing sight of the hardcore player. The World Tour mode won't be for everyone, but Street Fighter 6 stands tall as one of the best fighters Capcom has made.
PowerUp! - Charbel Asmar - 9 / 10
At launch, Street Fighter 6 is set to take the fighting game genre to another level
Prima Games - Matt Vatankhah - 9.5 / 10
In a sense, Street Fighter VI is the full package. It’s a three-course meal and then some, filling you up to the brim and serving you every dish on the dessert menu whether you’re ready for the check or not. It’s bursting with style, swagger, and abundant sophistication, and it’s the perfect entry for newcomers and veterans alike.
Push Square - Sammy Barker - 9 / 10
Street Fighter 6 is an absolute humdinger of a sequel. Capcom has created a fighting system that has all of the tactical depth professional players expect but managed to make it fairly easy for casuals to wrap their heads around. Not only that, it's introduced smart ways to onboard newcomers, including a simplified control scheme and a great suite of tutorials, which even extend to the impressively enjoyable RPG-inspired single player story mode. A strong roster of starting characters, near-flawless rollback netcode, and a seemingly never-ending selection of content – including interactive online lobbies with playable retro games – round out another unbelievably impressive effort from the seemingly unstoppable Japanese publisher.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Unscored
Smooth online matches and an impressively in-depth story already put Street Fighter 6 leagues above the competition.
Shacknews - TJ Denzer - 9 / 10
All-in-all, this game rekindled my love of the franchise, and I can’t wait to see how Street Fighter 6 grows over time.
TechRaptor - Robert Scarpinito - 9 / 10
Street Fighter 6 is one of the easiest on-ramps to the deep world of fighting games, appealing to casual players and veterans alike. With a diverse roster, meaty gameplay, and flashy animations, this will be a FGC staple for years to come.
The Outerhaven Productions - 4 / 5
Street Fighter 6 takes all the mistakes made with Street Fighter V and tries to not make them again. From the one on one traditional fights that we know, have been improved thanks to the addition of the Drive Gage mechanics, to the online modes where a lot of people are going to play. There is very little that Street Fighter 6 does that people won't be happy with… Unless you live in Australia… However, the looming nickel-and-dime ride of Season Pass after Season Pass could make things worse down the line. Street Fighter 6 is an easy day-one buy for the hardcore eSports player base, but casual players might want to wait for a year or more for a more complete game before buying.

Street Fighter 6 doesn't need recommending to hardcore fighting fans – you all already know how incredible it is – but do I recommend it for more casual players? Street Fighter 6 has a real sense of community, welcoming all players old and new, teaching new tricks and providing something for those that just want a bit of fun. This is truly a fighting game for everyone.
Twinfinite - Keenan McCall - 5 / 5
It’s the epitome of what a fighting game should be, and I can’t wait to see how the series builds off of this return to form
VG247 - Alex Donaldson - 5 / 5
It’s a must-have. And it might just be the most compelling overall fighting game package of all time.
We Got This Covered - David James - 3 / 5
Street Fighter 6 delivers a deep, complex, and satisfying fighting game bristling with fun new characters and an excellent multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, all of that's shackled to a truly terrible single-player RPG that stands as one of the most embarrassing things Capcom has released in years. If you're here for online play, you'll love it. If you want single-player action, stay far away.
Worth Playing - Cody Medellin - 9 / 10
Street Fighter 6 succeeds in its ambition to cram some big things into one fighting game. Battle Hub may be silly, but it has a lot more personality and more to do than most other titles with their own online lobbies. Fighting Ground does a great job of showing off the new roster and improvements to the fighting engine, while placing an equal amount of attention on both offline and online players. World Tour makes for a somewhat nonsensical yet addictive adventure that can serve as a good basis for a full-fledged Street Fighter RPG. All of this is tied together with a presentation that does well in improving what came before it, only with more fidelity and flash. As stated at the beginning of this review, fighting game fans are going to have a good year, and Street Fighter 6 is an excellent component of that.
XboxEra - Nick Baker - 9 / 10
Xbox players have had to wait a long time for Street Fighter to come back to the platform, and luckily got the best iteration yet.

TheSixthAxis - Nick Petrasiti - 10 / 10

Saudi Gamer - Arabic - 9 / 10
A great new entry that caters to both the hardcore and casuals, just missing some modes and more characters that keeps it from perfection.

Street Fighter 6 is simply one of the best fighting games ever made, with ton of contents and an incredibly fun gameplay.
TheSixthAxis - Nick Petrasiti - 10 / 10
Street Fighter 6 doesn't need recommending to hardcore fighting fans – you all already know how incredible it is – but do I recommend it for more casual players? Street Fighter 6 has a real sense of community, welcoming all players old and new, teaching new tricks and providing something for those that just want a bit of fun. This is truly a fighting game for everyone.
TrueGaming - Arabic - 9 / 10
Street fighter 6 will keep players busy for long hours thanks to its fresh and innovative fighting system, and its feature-rich content the World Tour mode Finally, friendly controls that welcomes new players to the series are the cherry on top of the cake.

Street Fighter 6 is an extremely rich package that successfully manages to win over new players thanks to its new and sophisticated control system, while also winking at veterans, with its balanced, strategic and deep gameplay. It includes everything Street Fighter 5 did, while the development team has added an entire Street Fighter open world RPG and an online MMO on top of it. So, just like that, Capcom's positive...combo continues!

Grayson Waller is visibly frustrated and pacing back and forth when The Miz approaches him.] Grayson Waller: [angered] Can you believe that, Miz? Knight just left me hanging out there! The Miz: [calmly] I know it's frustrating, Waller, but we need to stay focused. We can't let this tear us apart. Grayson Waller: [agitated] How can you defend him, Miz? He abandoned me in the ring! We were supposed to be a team! [Just as Grayson finishes his sentence, LA Knight storms into the scene, looking equally furious.] LA Knight: [pointing a finger at Grayson] You wanna know why I left, Waller? Because you're nothing but dead weight! Grayson Waller: [getting in Knight's face] Dead weight? You're the one who couldn't handle a little adversity and decided to walk away! [The tension between Knight and Waller continues to escalate as they exchange heated words, getting dangerously close to physical confrontation. The Miz steps between them, forcing them apart.] The Miz: [firmly] That's enough! Both of you need to calm down and think about what you're doing. This isn't the time or the place for this. LA Knight: [still seething] No, Miz! I've had enough of both of your incompetence. I don't need you two dragging me down anymore. The Miz: [leaning closer to LA Knight] You think you can just walk away whenever things get tough? Well, let me remind you of something, Knight. You signed a contract when you joined The A-List Experience. That means you have a responsibility to be a team player, no matter what. [LA Knight hesitates, realizing the weight of The Miz's words.] LA Knight: [gritting his teeth] Fine. But don't expect me to forget this, Waller. Grayson Waller: [defiantly] Likewise, Knight. We'll settle this, one way or another. [The tension lingers in the air as The Miz steps back, his gaze shifting between Knight and Waller. The scene ends with the three members of The A-List Experience standing apart, their unity shattered, and uncertain about what lies ahead.] Match 4 - Cody Rhodes vs Shinsuke Nakamura The bell rang, and the two locked up in the center of the ring, both trying to gain the upper hand. The crowd was firmly behind both wrestlers, as they executed their signature moves flawlessly. Nakamura's striking ability was on full display as he landed a series of hard kicks and strikes to Rhodes' body. But Rhodes was resilient, using his technical prowess to stay in the match. The match continued back and forth with near falls and high impact maneuvers from both competitors. As the match wore on, it became clear that Rhodes had a slight advantage, gaining momentum with every passing minute. In the end, Rhodes landed his finisher, the Cross Rhodes, and pinned Nakamura for the three-count. The match begins with both competitors feeling each other out, trying to gain an advantage. Corbin manages to take control early on, using his strength and size advantage to keep Gable grounded. However, Gable uses his technical wrestling skills to counter Corbin's offense and get back into the match. As the match continues, Gable picks up momentum and starts hitting some impressive moves on Corbin. Corbin tries to fight back, but Gable is relentless and keeps the pressure on. In the end, Gable catches Corbin off guard with an ankle lock, surprising Corbin and securing the victory. Winner: Chad Gable by Submission (4 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/k49gwt1ddy2b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=d18a889eca09fafb6cedc020ec951ad714917b72 Post Match Segment The arena erupts in cheers as Chad Gable celebrates his hard-fought victory over Happy Corbin. Gable's music blares through the speakers, and he raises his arms in triumph, basking in the adulation of the crowd. Suddenly, the venue plunges into darkness, and an ominous silence fills the air. The lights slowly begin to illuminate, revealing Jay White and The Gunns standing at the entrance ramp, wearing sinister smirks on their faces. The crowd's reaction shifts from confusion to a mixture of boos and jeers. Jay White and The Gunns make their way to the ring, their eyes locked on Gable, who stands in the center, his victory high replaced by a cautious readiness. Jay White: Chad Gable, congratulations on your victory. You showcased some skills out there, but let's be honest, it was nothing compared to what The Bullet Club is capable of. Austin Gunn: That's right, Gable. You may have won your little match, but now you're stepping into the lion's den. Chad Gable: If you're here to fight, then let's settle it right here, right now. I'm not backing down from any challenge. [The crowd roars in support of Gable, cheering him on as he stands tall in the face of The Bullet Club.] Jay White: Oh, Gable, you're brave, I'll give you that. But this is not about a fair fight. This is about sending a message, about teaching you a lesson. Suddenly, Jay White signals to The Gunns, and the three members of The Bullet Club pounce on Gable, delivering a ruthless beatdown. Gable fights back, but the numbers game overwhelms him. Security personnel rush to the ring, desperately trying to separate the brawling individuals. The Bullet Club members finally retreat, leaving Gable lying on the mat, battered and bruised. 2023.05.30 07:52 webuyequipment Important Uses of Concrete Mixer Equipment Planet Equipment
| What are the uses of concrete mixer? A concrete mixer is a motorized equipment that homogeneously mixes concrete, material such as sand or gravel, and water to generate concrete. Concrete mixers range in size from big industrial mixing trucks to small, portable concrete mixers known as micro mixers. A concrete mixer is made up of three main components: a motor, a revolving drum, and, in some cases, a chute. The materials for making concrete spin around inside the drum, mixing uniformly and remaining soft for application and shaping. For the industrial manufacture of ready-mix concrete, especially precast/prestressed concrete, consistent homogeneity and low mixing times are becoming increasingly important in today’s market. As a result, new concrete-making technologies have emerged. As a result, twin-shaft batch mixers are becoming increasingly vital for high-quality concrete production around the world. They create a lot of turbulence in the mix and achieve 95 percent homogeneity with only 30 seconds of mixing time per batch. https://preview.redd.it/rj6fmo84rw2b1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=1d18f652eca9759b49378c86c331459a31f0d52c A commercial concrete mixer truck is used to mix and transport huge quantities of concrete for use on a construction site. A portable concrete mixer is sufficient for lesser volumes of concrete, often up to two cubic yards (1.83 cubic meters). A portable concrete mixer is usually powered by electricity and sits on a wheeled platform for easy transportation. The rotating drum can be slanted down to allow for the pouring of mixed concrete into a wheelbarrow. A spinning drum is used to mix the components in a standard concrete mixer. Portable concrete mixers are frequently utilized for smaller volume projects so that the concrete can be mixed on the job site, allowing the workers plenty of time to use it before it hardens. Mixing concrete Making concrete by hand is an alternative to using a machine. Normally, this is done with a wheelbarrow, but several companies have recently started selling customized tarps for this purpose. A portable concrete mixer is useful for homeowners doing modest concrete tasks such as a patio, sidewalk repair, or small slab. Because a concrete mixer cannot store concrete ready for application indefinitely, it’s critical to know how much concrete you can pour and finish in a certain amount of time. Different types of concrete cure at different rates, so follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Larger jobs, such as laying a driveway or constructing a basketball court, may necessitate the use of a commercial truck. Commercial concrete mixers require access to the project within a reasonable distance. Swimming pools in the ground are an example of a large-scale project that necessitates truck access. https://preview.redd.it/xk2ldsr5rw2b1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=fcd9ec00c17edb8cbbc553a084adee8c2af799b2 It’s important to remember that calling a concrete business merely guarantees delivery of the concrete. The price is set at a flat fee per cubic yard ordered, and the truck will only be on site for a certain amount of time. Large projects may necessitate the use of professional concrete finishers to complete the job on schedule. Be sure to have finishers on site and ready to pour before calling a concrete business, and don’t forget to secure any permits required in your location. At XG Power, you can get a concrete mixer like this one. 9 cubic foot XG Power Concrete Mixer with Subaru Robin 9HP Engine The drum volume of this heavy-duty concrete mixer is 12 cubic feet, with a 9 cubic foot mix capacity. The Subaru Robin EX27 engine produces 9 horsepower. For reliable mixing, use thick steel drums with rolled reinforced pour lips. Dumping is easier with the reinforced hand wheel, and mix discharge is more controlled. Cowls with ventilation for long-term professional use. 2023.05.30 06:14 iMadrak WDYT about this new PC? and I also need some advice to chose the right case considering their specs and price.
Hi there, I need your helpful advice again 😅.
I'm gonna show you what I'm building and why I can't decide on a case, which I hope you will help me choose considering their specs and PRICE... hopefully.
This is the new PC:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR5
- CPU: Intel Core-i5 12600k (bought)
- GPU: PowerColor Red Devil RX 6650 XT (bought)
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assasin 120 SE ARGB White (bought)
- Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16)
- Storage: 3 HDD (4TB, 1TB, 512GB*) and 1 SSD (128GB) (own)
*If possible I'll drop the 512 one and buy a 2TB M.2 later. (own)
- PSU: Corsair RM850x Shift*.
*I could probably buy the RM1000x Shift if its price drops a little, it would be $30 more than the 850W, what do you think?
- Peripherals: Keyboard Logitech G413, Mouse Razer Viper Mini, Headphones Hyperx Cloud Stinger S. (own, except the keyboard, gonna buy it soon)
- Others: x5 12mm Case Fans (better having some than none).
And well, I can buy the cases for:
- Corsair 5000D Airflow WHITE (not really into white cases) for $115 (+ $10-15 shipping fee)
- Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB BLACK Steel (with Fan controller) for $190 (includes international shipping)
- Corsair 7000D Airflow BLACK (Full tower) for $182 (+$10-15 shipping fee)
As you may have noticed, I can buy both Corsair in my country, Peru, just need to pay a shipping fee for another city. And about the Lian Li, I can order it through a web called "tiendamia" and that price includes everything.
My initial idea was to buy just the Corsair 4000D Airflow Black for $89 (same store as the other 2) but it ran out of stock before I could order one and there's no estimated date for restocking (if they ever do it).
A shame nobody in my country sells the Lancool 216 so I have to import it, thank god I found a way instead of just paying more than $100 on Amazon just for shipping.
So, thankful for all your advice (let me know about the PSU too if possible).
PS: Damn, I'm pretty sure that if the store had the 5000D Airflow Black I wouldn't have to think much about it. Btw, as far as I know, everything should fit inside a mid-tower, right?

2023.05.30 05:31 VerLoran New German Fighter
| So in the CN anniversary stream this aircraft was announced. My understanding is that it’s going to be added to the gear lab in the near future, and so I figured I’d do some searching to maybe get a hint of what’s to come. To start off, the new plane is a SSR FW-190 so it’s most likely predecessor in the gear lab would be the SR Focke-Wulf 190 A-5 (Carrier-Based Prototype). That should make this a new fighter option putting it up against a whole variety of very good aircraft including the sea hornet, flying pancake, tiger cat, HVAR Hellcat, and the BF 109G to name a few. Moving on to a more detailed look, apparently this aircraft was a land based fighter with a role of bomber hunter. The FW 190 was selected for this role in large part due to its toughness and being a very good weapons platform. Considering it’s made it’s way to AL, it seems likely this aircraft will also get the (Carrier-Based Prototype) tag added after its name. The historical version was fitted out with a pair of MG 17 fuselage machine guns, 2 wing mounted 20 mm MG 151/20E machine guns, and 2 30mm MK 108 auto cannon mounted in underwing cannon pods. I found it hard to tell if the aircraft carried any bombs as they are noted to be an improved version of the FW 190 A series in a bomber hunter role. Several variants of the prior version the FW 190 A5 were equipped with a bomb or bombs of the 550 lb or lighter variety however those variants were specialized as night fighters. What made the FW 190 A6/R6 stand out from its earlier iterations was is use of 2 single use air to air rockets per aircraft. As a final note, one of the two articles I looked at notes that by the A6 variety the planes were beginning to become slower due to all the extra firepower. Taking a step back to the FW 190 A5, that aircraft has the highest Anti-Air dps and burst damage of any fighter in the game. It sits comfortably in 10th place for aircraft speed but is at the top rung of the 5 slowest reloading max rarity variants. The biggest downside of the aircraft is it’s total inability to damage any surface ship. With all that said, it seems to me that we are very soon to have a new top seat in Anti Air, possibly boasting rockets powerful enough to kill anything on screen with ease and with a speed that would keep them on screen for some time while that happens. In addition a high health pool seems possible allowing the magic eraser to keep on sweeping. The big questions for me now are how quick will it reload, and will it have any air to surface weapons? If there’s no Air to Surface capability, it’s a pretty open and shut case. The new plane won’t be junk, but it will be almost entirely useless. If it does have some AtS capacity then it may be worth using, but if the reload also isn’t any good then once again the plane seems likely to collect dust. As much as I want to believe this new plane will be a good usable addition, I have a feeling it won’t be. Sources 1 and 2. Thoughts? submitted by VerLoran to AzureLane [link] [comments] |

Euripides The Daughter that Follows Chapter 27 Reunited Part 2 Anna woke up in a mostly bare room, the only decorations were a few pictures of animals and dinosaurs that her father had collected. Rio was sitting and meditating, facing the rising sun. Anna watched her for a few minutes before standing to get ready.
“Anna...” Rio asked, some small fear was hinted at in her mental voice.
“What happens to me when this is over?” Anna paused, she was slightly confused by the question. “What do you want to do?” Anna asked.
Rio herself emanated some confusion and fear.
“I don’t know. My parents will not be happy I took off the stone or that I evolved.” Anna hugged Rio. “Well you can stay with me and my dad. Like I said, I adopted you.”
“I’m serious Anna.” Rio sighed.
“So am I.” Anna pushed the thought.
“As far as family is concerned, you’re a part of mine.” Rio let a low contented rumble escape her, then stood and walked out.
A few moments later Anna walked out into her father’s small, but comfortable living room. He had apparently upgraded from a trailer to an on site home. Dr. Wu had also apparently insisted he do so, if only because the trailer had recently lost a roof to a mysterious glowing phenomena.
“So I got eggs, toast and if you can beat Rio, bacon.” Alan laughed.
“No one beats me at bacon.” Rio smiled and yipped.
Anna laughed as she took a few scoops of scrambled eggs with a few slices of toast and bacon. Alan joined the both of them and sat smiling. “So how’s V?”
“Probably driving Salem insane.” Anna nodded.
“Not hard.” Alan chuckled. “Once we’ve had the time to relax and reconnect, I’m gonna head out, you give me a week then you follow.”
Anna nodded.
“What, no objections?” Alan laughed.
“I’m going to get my people together during that time.” Anna smiled.
“You have people now?” Alan laughed.
“Uncle Stephen.” Anna nodded, “Endara, a few others like SideEffect.”
“Jesus!” Alan jumped up and looked around. “Sorry, the fact that he exists outside of Dross City has always left a permanent fear of him just finding me.”
Anna stared and nodded at her father. “I’d say I’d invite Wraith’s variant but I don’t think that’s a smart idea.”
“No Agatha or Danny.” Alan pointed at her, “They’ll be targets.”
Anna nodded, “Oh, I know. I might get Shepard...”
Alan burst into laughter and a glint of maniacal glee glinted in his eyes. “You leave them to me.”
“Kratos?” Anna asked.
“Go ahead.” Alan smiled.
Anna shifted, slightly uncomfortable at seeing her father become slightly unhinged.
“Don’t worry, I’m not gonna rip apart the multiverse, I just know more than a few Shepards I can call on for help.” Alan sighed. “Trust me, please. “
Anna nodded, then perked up. “OH! The Spider-Men!”
Alan smiled, “You get the ones you met, I’ll get the others.”
“The others?” Anna asked.
Alan sighed, “Look, the less I have to explain about the Spider-Verse and the lunatics there, the better.”
“Spider-Verse? Anna laughed.
“Don’t laugh, it’s a serious thing in their section of the multiverse.” Alan explained. “Keeps all their worlds held together.”
“Through a web, right?” Anna smirked.
“The Web of Life.” Alan nodded.
Anna stopped as she realized her father was serious. “You mean that, how does that work?”
“Reality is as deep as we can perceive, and the Spiders heroes in that part of the multiverse cna perceive just that much deeper than most others.” Alan explained. “The fact that the majority are absolutely fueled by doing the right thing is a benefit those realities don’t even realize they have.”
Anna stared and blinked.
“They’re more powerful than most realize and the ones who do, usually think they’ll break at some point.” Alan laughed and closed his eyes with a sigh.
When he opened them though Anna saw something different in his eyes. A mist of white just beyond the iris seemed to be there and it called to power deep in her. Anna gasped.
“I think we both know that though.” Alan smiled. “So, you’re gonna be heroism.”
Anna blushed.
Alan looked at Rio. “They got a spot for you yet?”
Rio shook her head.
“Give’em time.” Alan laughed.
Rio grasped her Megastone and nodded.
“Think I’ll go pick up Release.” Alan laughed. “See if he wants to go for one more adventure together.”
“I think he’d love that.” Anna smiled.
“Bonds beyond life and death.” Rio nodded as she looked at her own megastone.
“Exactly.” Anna smiled. “So what’s happening today?”
“Today, I’m either going to be working with a very picky pachy, or Billy’s going to give me a call.” Alan sighed. “Tuesdays.”
Anna nodded. “I’d like to help, either way.”
Alan nodded and smiled, then a dark though clouded his joy. “Anna, what else have you fought? I know the Heartless, the Organization and Atropos’ goons.”
“And Stockman.” Rio added.
Alan nodded. “He’ll be handled. Trust me.”
“What’d you tell Perfection last night?” Anna asked.
Alan smiled. “I gave a good friend an idea for a magic lesson for his student.”
Anna paled. “You didn’t.”
“Alex needs to learn.” Alan smiled.
Anna shook her head. “Well other than them, borg-Reavers, but only at a distance.”
Alan nodded with a look of worry. “I remember that story.”
“Draal...” Anna said with a murderous glare.
Alan telekinetically moved the sharp knives he owned back into their drawers. Rio stared at Anna with a look of concern.
“While I completely agree, I can’t help but feel maybe I should be the one with that much anger towards him.” Alan gave a nervous laugh.
“He kept showing up and insisting he wanted to help.” Anna hissed.
“Yeah, I’m Tiger Dropping him into a star.” Alan growled.
“Wouldn’t that hurt?” Anna asked.
“Tiger Drop negates all damage.” Alan smiled, “Not that you’d get that. Please tell me you don’t get that? I don’t want to have to kill a Majima.”
Anna stared at her father and shook her head.
“Good.” Alan smiled and nodded.
“Rio?” Anna asked.
“I have no idea.” Rio shrugged.
“Then there’s Dinal.” Anna said. “If I ever see her again, I’m gonna nuke her.”
Alan nodded. “Not if I see her first.” He smiled.
“I don’t think the Scareek can follow me but I think I made them think humans in that reality were psychic.” Anna explained as she continued, ignoring her father's prodding.
“Damn.” Alan laughed, “We can try and fix that after.”
Anna shook her head. “I kinda should have died. Perfection saved me but made it look like I did.”
Alan stared at his daughter. “Well then they get a wonderful news flash because if Perfection’s involved there’s a plan at work and someone is getting f’d in the a.”
Anna snorted at her father’s phrasing. “No saying hi. MAybe let them see us?”
“You feel guilty.” Alan smirked.
“I...” She sighed. “I messed up big.”
Alan nodded. “Then we’ll see what we can do.”
“Oh!” Anna slammed her fist. “Sindri and Odin!”
“Right, Thor is back there too.” Rio added.
“He isn’t a monster anymore.” Alan paused and looked at Rio. “I have a distinct memory of my barriers being casually obliterated.”
“He’s changed, for his daughter.” Anna explained. “To be better.”
Alan looked at Anna and nodded. If there was one thing he could understand it was that. “Kratos okay with him?”
Anna nodded. “They’re trying to make everything as peaceful as they can, but Sindri and Odin are working with Atropos.”
“Damn.” Alan hissed. “They weren’t kidding.”
“They’ve been keeping you informed, haven’t they?” Anna asked.
Alan nodded as his phone went off with a K-pop song. He answered the phone and watched his daughter fall out of her chair laughing.
“Yeah, I can be ready in an hour. Got my kid with me, she’s got the skills to help keep one of them calm.” Alan said in a serious tone.
Anna popped back up and shoveled food into her mouth as fast as she could.
“Trike herd and...” Alan paused as he wrote it down. “They made another I-Rex?” He sighed as he clearly received confirmation. “We’ll take the Rex, you guys can handle the herd and if we have to put this one down we can do it quickly.” He ended the call and nearly tossed his phone across the room.
“It’s not a normal dinosaur is it?” Anna asked.
“Made in a lab, originally to be a more ‘exciting’ dino.” Alan hissed. “Raised it and it’s sibling without other interactions.”
“Oh god.” Anna gasped.
“It went berserk once it got out, and it’s extremely smart. Part Raptor and rex with some squid thrown in to help it cloak.” Alan explained. “This one was specifically raised to be a weapon but it’s a juvenile, it can have a chance.”
Anna nodded. “I can keep us safe.”
Alan smiled. “I don’t doubt that. You keep us safe I’ll get in her head.”
Anna smiled as she again shoveled food into her mouth.
Alan laughed. “Eat, get your gear.”
“May I stay?” Rio asked.
Anna nodded. “Are you sure?”
Rio nodded,
“This area allows me to meditate with ease.” Anna nodded and finished her meal, then ran to get ready.
(T)(D)(T)(F)---(T)(F)(T)(W) Hours later Alan was staring at Anna’s gear, she was dressed in her red hoodie, a shirt that had a t-rex with grabby arms, torn jeans and steel toed boots. Of course under all of that was some of the best light armor that the Sixth World could afford with some bonuses only a very mean man could obtain for his goddaughter.
“Punk.” Alan nodded.
Anna smiled. “Sheena
is a punk rocker.”
Alan rolled his eyes, “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised given your sisters.”
Anna giggled. “At least Arlina was a proper lady.”
Alan burst into a fit of raucous laughter then stopped. “Oh, you’re serious.”
Anna blinked. “What was she for you?”
“Rebellious adult daughter who only listened to dad when she and her boyfriend caused more trouble to explode from tiny issues.” Alan smiled. “And a loyal daughter who went out of her way to protect her dad.”
Anna smiled. “She really was brave.”
Alan nodded. “Always was. She’s smiling on you kiddo.”
“All right.” The pilot said from the front of their plane. “We’re getting to the drop zone.”
“Awesome.” Alan smiled.
“Drop zone?” Anna asked.
“We’re jumping!” Alan smiled with a deeply disturbingly happy laugh as he handed his daughter a parachute and hit a button that opened the rear of the large plane they were on.
“We can fly!” Anna shouted.
Alan nodded as he put on his parachute, smiled and walked to the edge. “God I love a good jump!”
Anna watched as her father leaped out of the plane. Anna shook her head and dropped the parachute, ran forward and dove forwards as Hong Long roared to life around her. She looked over to see her father shaking his head, his parachute was still not deployed. He leaned into his dive, much to Anna’s shock. She and Hong Long Lurched forward, careening towards the ground, faster and faster. She watched her father’s parachute open two thirds of the way down. Then she felt the world pull on her less and Hong Long slowed down as a purple energy wave washed over them both. Then she passed her father’s parachute and he was no longer in it, he was now rocketing towards the ground.
“CHEATER!” Anna roared as she tried to push Hong Long’s power forward. She focused hard and grit her teeth as she watched Hong Long’s scales and mane turn golden, and they plowed straight through the field and past Alan, straight to a landing position on the ground.
Hong Long coiled and sat up straight to howl in victory.
A few seconds later Alan landed with just a flutter of the ragged edges of his now dull blue jacket. He looked his daughter and her tulpa over, then nodded in approval.
“So this is what Sayain energy does to your dragon...” Alan observed.
Hong Long nodded happily.
“Okay then.” Alan smiled, “Let’s see how much you’ve learned.”
Anna stared at her father. “What?”
“Find our target.” Alan smiled.
“I thought I was our defense.” Anna crossed her arms.
“Kid I can make a barrier that it takes a God of Thunder to break.” Alan snorted. “And I want to see you work.”
Anna gave a huff but closed her eyes to try and focus. She reached out as far as she could, which was admittedly a lot farther than it used to be. She could now reach out close to seven or eight kilometers. She felt nothing but random animals skittering and hunting, but nothing abnormally aggressive. She looked at her father and shook her head.
“Really?” Alan took a breath. “Can’t reach that far I guess.”
Anna nodded. “About eight kilometers at my highest focus.”
Alan nodded, “Well then we’re heading that way.”
“Is it that way?” Anna asked.
“Maybe!” Alan smiled.
Anna rolled her eyes but followed her father, pulling Hong Long back into her being. She was also really regretting wearing her hoodie as they had landed in a jungle, likely near the border of Central and South America. They walked for hours before Alan finally stopped and paused.
“What’s wrong?” Anna asked.
“What do you hear?” Alan asked.
Anna stopped and heard nothing. The animals had gone silent.
“There’s a predator nearby.” Alan said.
Anna focused and felt a mind focused on them. It was watching and stalking from above.
“Do they hunt in trees?” Anna asked,
“No.” Alan sighed, “They don’t.”
“Then what’s hunting us?” Anna asked as a tremble of fear rolled down her spine.
“Something that’s about to make a horrible mistake.” Alan sighed. “This one doesn’t belong here.”
“NO!” The voice of Ragnis bellowed as he appeared high in the trees and tossed the stalker to the ground. He then followed the creature and lopped its right arm off at the shoulder. “It doesn’t.”
Alan pulled the arm to him and with more than enough force to turn the bones in the arm to mush, launched it skyward where it exploded in a brilliant explosion about a minute later, well above the atmosphere.
The creature laid on the ground, clearly in shock. Alan wrenched a metallic mask that was covered in bones, off the face of the green-blooded stalker. Anna saw the crab-like face and flinched, she remembered the movie this creature was from.
“This is a yautja.” Alan explained.
“I thought it was a Predator.” Anna asked.
“That’s the name of the movie.” Alan said. “These guys can be a pain or a threat.” He bent down to inspect the alien’s face.
Anna felt something hungry approaching and pressed herself against a large tree.
Ragnis moved and pulled a trident from his back which he used to pin the creature to the ground through its gut.
“Bad-blood.” Alan nodded and pointed to a burn on the alien’s forehead. “He’s been disowned by his clan for breaking sacred rules. Likely hunting young prey or unarmed prey.”
“And he’s not from the neighborhood.” Ragnis scoffed. “Honestly, she tried this? I’m bored.”
“Get him out of here, will you?” Alan asked, “We have an Indominous Rex to find.”
“Dad.” Anna nodded towards where she felt the large hunger coming from.
“Well, enjoy the hunt!” Ragnis said as he winked and vanished with the hunter.
Alan focused ahead and nodded to Anna. “Now you take the defensive.”
Anna nodded and stood next to her father. She felt another set of eyes looking at her, then another set of eyes and she froze for a moment.
“There’s a second one, dad.” Anna hissed.
“Of course this one’s social with a sibling.” Alan nodded. “Okay, so we need to take one each.”
“Dad?” Anna looked at her father.
“What have you fought?” Alan asked. “You stood up to Daleks. To Dinal. We just need to calm them down.”
Anna nodded and focused, not bringing Hong Long forward, she did not want to be seen as aggressive to whichever of these dinosaurs ended up benign her opponent.
She watched for a few minutes and then the jungle blinked and nodded at her. Then jaws caming rushing at her and her father and they each went a different direction.

2023.05.29 23:40 JackTheBeast1235 Ranking Every Ace Attorney Case #35
I decided that every day I am going to post about a case, ranking them from least favorite to favorite and giving my on the fly reasons so I probably will miss and forget things but thought it would be a fun idea. Also please remember this is just my opinion and I know we all have differing opinions but this is my opinion.
35. Turnabout Samurai
Overview: Turnabout Samurai is the third case of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. The case is the first time Phoenix and Maya work together on a case. This is the first case where we begin to see a shift in the personality of the rival prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. The case takes Phoenix and Maya to a movie set where the popular children's show the Steel Samurai is made. The Steel Samurai is a classic hero vs villain show where the hero always ruins the villains plan while not actually defeating the villain. Except this time the villain has been defeated and the hero is suspected of being the criminal.
Mystery: Phoenix and Maya defend children's actor and the Steel Samurai Will Powers who is believed to have killed his co actor the villain of the show Jack Hammer. Hammer used to be a major movie star but had fallen on hard times and was now the villain of a children's show. Global Studios is where the crime occurred and there we meet a cranky old security guard, a very forgettable worker, the producer of the Steel Samurai, and the director of the Steel Samurai. Jack Hammer had accidentally killed a fellow actor at the height of his fame. Dee Vasquez the producer and the reason Global Studios was still running covered up the accident but forced Hammer to work in the children's show for little money. Hammer was tired of it and drugged Powers and stole his costume to frame him for the crime. Then he travelled to studio two and met Vasquez where a struggle occurred and she killed him. With the help of the director Sal Manella they moved the body to studio one to pin the blame further on Will Powers who was asleep due to being drugged.
Characters:
Phoenix Wright: This is his first time investigating with someone and it allows us to see more of Wright's personality. He and Maya work off each other so well and make for a very fun dynamic that continues throughout the rest of the trilogy.
Maya Fey: She is one of the big stars of this case. Maya is perfect for the role of a young fun and energetic assistant to the player's character. She and Wright work well together and her happiness is infectious. She loves the Steel Samurai not as much as some people but is a big fan.
Miles Edgeworth: Speaking of the biggest Steel Samurai fan, here he is. Edgeworth is amazing in this case we see the small shift in his personality on day three. He ends up helping Wright corner Vasquez in the trial and finally see him begin his shift from wanting to win to finding the truth. Also his talk with Phoenix after the trial is iconic in the series for Edgeworth's "unnecessary feelings" line. He then tells Wright to never show his face again but obviously that doesn't happen.
Dick Gumshoe: Gumshoe continues to be a very likeable presence. We know how much he values his friendship with Miles Edgeworth and we start to see him warm up to Phoenix and Maya. Also he has his breakout moment when he comes in to stop Dee Vasquez from having her Mafia people attack Phoenix and Maya and arrests her. This is one of the best moments in the series and it's great to see Gumshoe shine.
Wendy Oldbag: An iconic reoccurring character who is definitely at her best in this case. Similar to Larry she gets worse as she shows up in future games but is at least funny here. Still not great but funny.
Will Powers: One of the best defendants in the series. Powers is instantly likeable and super innocent. Even though he looks scary he is really just a sweetheart who cares for the wellbeing of others. You can't help but feel bad for the poor guy.
Sal Manella: One of the worst characters in the whole series. All I have to say is really creepy and I don't like the way he was looking at Maya this case.
Dee Vasquez: A good culprit. Not great but solid. She is one of the surprisingly few cases of self defense in the series. She is fun to take down on the stand and has a pretty good plan for having to think it up on the spot.
Cody Hackins: If you have played the fan game COI then you will know Cody is amazing in that game. However in the actual series he is really annoying. Having to pick apart his testimony is frustrating and his whole section drags.
Penny Nichols: I almost forgot her. She is forgettable. Literally nothing else to say.
Problems: The main problem of this case is the system introduced in this case three day trials. Thankfully only this game has it but three day trials cause cases to drag. While a case like Rise From The Ashes justifies three days. Samurai does not. There was no reason to make this case three days. It really ruins the pacing and causes the case to drag especially in the middle section. Going through Hackins and Manella's testimonies feels tedious and dragged out especially Hackin's section. Most of day two feels like an absolute slog to get through. Also the investigation feels like a game full of quests. Take this card to Nichols. She gives you a card. Return to Cody and give him the card or get script for Vasquez. Bring script back to Vasquez. Which is annoying and feels like we have to go through a lot of work just to get a little bit of info. Also Manella is one of the worst characters in the whole series.
Positives: This case introduces the Steel Samurai. The Steel Samurai is one of the most iconic characters in the whole series and even cause Khurain to have a knock off Steel Samurai in SOJ. The Steel Samurai is a very impactful character in the series and the case gets a plus for introducing it. Edgeworth and Phoenix working together in this case is amazing and their talk afterwards is just as amazing. Phoenix and Maya have a great dynamic. Powers is one of the best defendants in the whole series. Also I loved Oldbag on the stand she gave us a lot of funny moments.
Final Thoughts: The case has good ideas dragged down by a long and drawn out case that has no reason being three days. The case drags and feels like a slog to get through at times. The case gets major points for introducing the Steel Samurai and is the first time DA and Prosecutor work together in court. Any thoughts, opinions, or questions about Turnabout Samurai would be greatly appreciated.
