Hello, first things first I'm not replacing anyone. Just looking to play out a few specific scenarios. Second, I'm a 22 year old male in the US central time zone. I've been ghosted by more people than I care to count recently, now I'm looking for a new long term roleplay partner. I don't have too many requirements for this. But there are a few.
1: I'm not too strict with response length, my response lengths vary depending on my partners response. I will not accept any one-liners.
2: I'm comfortable playing multiple characters to help move the story forward. I'm more flexible to a point on this subject. We can discuss this.
3: If you're going to be busy for the foreseeable future message to let me know that you are going to be gone for a while so I know that I haven't been ghosted. I will also message you to let you know if I'm not available to post for a while.
4: NSFW and ERP scenes and themes are allowed, however they are not required and I don't want it to be the main focus. The story comes first, not smut.
5: Graphic depictions of violence and gore and other sensitive subjects are also allowed, but DON'T overdo it. If it gets to that point, I'll let you know.
6: OOC is somewhere where we can be ourselves and discuss where the RP is/should be headed/heading. If you have any tweaks to make or a change we can discuss this as well.
7: You have to be willing to roleplay on Discord. Things can be more organized and coherent. Either one of us can create a server.
Now, enough rules. Let's talk about a few ideas I've wanted to do for awhile but never had the chance to.
1: A Destiny roleplay choose any character you would want to be Canon or original. We can have the story at any point in the Destiny timeline. I'm not too particular about what time it is set in.
2: A Tom Clancy setting, Ghost Recon, The Division, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, etc. Any military centered setting is fine with me.
3: A star wars setting. This one I'd like to discuss with a partner to make sure we both enjoy this one. Different people have different tastes for the different eras in Star Wars.
4: A DC universe story it can either be OCxCanon OCxOC or CanonxCanon depends on which one we agree on and like the most. I have an original character for this one and can give you a description upon request but if you're not comfortable with that I can use a Canon character of my choice.
If any of these have piqued your interest or you have ideas of your own that you want to try out, then DM me or send me a chat. I want more than "Wanna rp?" Hi, I’m about to complete my BS in psychology from Ohio State University this summer and I would like to apply to a PhD Clinical Psychology program.
My current GPA is a 3.35, though my major GPA should be about a 3.5 or 3.6. I do believe I can get my GPA up to a 3.4-3.5 before I graduate. I also have a year of research experience, though due to COVID reasons and me taking off a semester of college, I only spent a semester in each lab. I was a TA for a year for one of the professors whose lab I was a RA in though and he is willing to give me a letter of recommendation. I do have a bit of volunteer clinical experience (1.5 years) working with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which is the area of research I’m interested in.
Now I know my GPA is not great and I’ll need more research experience to be competitive, so I don’t want to be the person to just ask “Do you think I’ll have a chance to get into a PhD Clinical Psychology program”. Instead I wanted to ask for advice on what to do for the next 2-5 years to have a chance on getting into a decent program.
I am willing to do anything (other than redo undergrad, I’ll do a masters), including trying to volunteer in a research lab for a couple years (finding a paid job seems almost impossible but advice for that would be awesome too), learn a lot more stats and learn how to use stats programs like R and SPSS on my own time, and try to reach out to professors I would like to do my PhD under to see if I can do any volunteer work for them. I really would just like your advice on my best course of action right now. I am primarily interested in autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities research and I can’t see myself doing anything else other than being a clinical psychologist. Not making excuses but a lot of my grades in college is due to health issues and poor work habits but I’ve managed to overcome most of that.

Last week, u/ExistentialPuggle posted an amazing list of things to do in Baton Rouge that weekend and a lot of people got excited about all the fun things going on, while others shared adfitional events happening around the city. One Redditor commented that they didn’t realize how many great things Baton Rouge has going on and this is something I’ve noticed happening a lot, so my goal is to let people know all the great things Baton Rouge has to offer and hope they share it with others.
Adam Knapp, BRAC’s new president, said his biggest concern is that compared to other cities like Lafayette and New Orleans, Baton Rouge does not have “insane community pride” and looking at this subreddit proves he’s right. I know its hard to be proud of this city. I know we’ll never be #1 on any positive list and am use to scrolling down to the bottom lists to find us but I’m a Baton Rougian for life and try to find as much pride to have in gvis city as possible.
I’m usually a lurker and not much if a poster, so it might take me a few tries to get the format right. Also, with Reddit deciding to compleywly fuck over 3rd party apps, I’m not aure how easy posting will be once Apollo no longer exists.
The places I’m currently looking for events are news sources, local magzines, the library and local wbesite. If you have any other recommendations on where to look, please share.

I’ve been out of academe for about a year in industry. It’s been good, and also I’ve been scouted for an upper level admin position at UCF. I’m aware of the state’s political situation, and while I disapprove, I’m not personally overly concerned. The location is amazing, pay vs cost of living is very good and duties seem right. I could live less than an hour drive to the beach.
That said, the visit was a little weird. Definitely some red flags, dipped balls, tight lipped people at the diners, weird signs of neglect on campus. There is a bit of desperation on display in the hiring process.

Recently, my (f17, 18 in less than a month) life just feels terrible lately. I graduated less than a month ago and so over senior year, my parents were stressing me out about college and ended up making me, practically forcing me, to enroll in this online college. My dad even told my mom that if I went to college on campus that he wouldn’t even help me out financially during college (parents are both PIMI but divorced).
Ever since I’ve been telling ppl that I’m going to an online college, they give me a weird face and ask why would I do that and not go to an in-person school. My college dreams were crushed and it’s been weighing on me for months. I originally wanted to go to NYC for college (where I’m originally from) but my mom shut me down real quick. So, seeing my best friend and everyone else from my class going away to college in the fall is really hard for me, so much FOMO and just being upset about me wishing I pushed back to my parents to tell them that I wanted to go to the college I picked, trying to please them. But I knew it wouldn’t have worked because in every universe, they wouldn’t be accepted by me moving away to a secular institution full of drugs and alcohol and kids partying.
But it can always get worse. My mom said that along with online college, I could regular pioneer. So yesterday I officially applied to start the same month as I start online college. I thought that maybe I could get a job at least while doing college to save up but even that plan she fucked me up. Now my mom wants me to do LDC, just making the decision for me. It just feels like every time I try to negotiate and please them, they make it 10x worse.
And to top everything off, my mom made me (asked and set it up) to start a Bible study with this new young girl at my hall like two months ago. So every Saturday, I go to her house and study the enjoy life forever lessons with her which means I have to prepare every Friday. And this Saturday, we will be talking about why being gay is bad because her father literally outed her to us… great.
My life is literally hell. I didn’t expect this to be my life after graduation. I wanted to move out and go to college, dorm, meet new friends, finally get a real boyfriend, extracurriculars, all the things I’ve seen in the movies. I was so hyped a year ago but now that will never happen because of the religion I was born into and my strict and PIMI parents.
Lately I’ve just not been myself. I’m sad all the time, I overeat way too much, I stay in my room watching TV shows and movies, and just can’t find any silver lining in my life right now. And like I mentioned before, my bsf is going to college an hour away so every time she talks to me about it, I feel envy even though I wish I could be happy for her.
And ofc I know that college isn’t everything but it was something that I looked forward to for most of my life and now I don’t have that anymore. And going to college online isn’t quite the same even though I get the same degree by the end but it’s a good college with a good community, even though it is virtual.
And I love my parents but this religion has sucked so much life out of me lately that I don’t know what to do anymore and I don’t have nothing to look forward to. And, yes, I am crying as I type this but it feels a bit better to vent all this out. I can’t talk to any of my friends abt this bc they don’t know what being a witness is like, especially being PIMO. This is the only place where I can share my true feelings.

 | I got my admit long back in March and even though I was happy, I couldn’t bring myself to be excited given the n number of uncertainties. Now that I have cleared all hurdles mainly consolidating funding from my parent’s estate and securing a visa (Ask any Indian how tedious the process of getting a slot for the visa interview is and even after that facing the odds of rejection), I’m beginning to feel lil bit of excitement about my travel to the US and studying at an Ivey League. I’m mostly relieved that this process is over and I’m at my final lap where I just pack my things and fly. I miss my parents terribly but in a good way. I know they’re extremely excited for me wherever they are but I wish I got to see them be my biggest cheerleaders. Still cannot believe the application and enrolment process happened without any major hiccups (I’m a lightening rod for those). My mom doesn't come from the most educated background, and I don't judge nor fault her for that. But because of this I had to figure out everything about university and career paths by myself (I have an emotionally distant father so we don't talk either).
Throughout my childhood she has changed her mind so many times about what she expected of me. She's wanted me to be a doctor, lawyer, vetenarian, psychiatrist, engineer and more. I ended up choosing a completely different major in college because I was so lost.
I'm a few years out of uni now and I have a good stable job in my field (that I found myself) and I do extracurriculars in my free time in other fields of interest that may hopefully open up career options for me later. I'm starting to find myself; starting to understand what I'm good at and what may be options for me in the future. I still have a lot of anxiety and fear from her wishy-washy attitude growing up but generally I feel less lost than I did 3 years ago.
She's triggering me now again though. Asking questions about what courses I'm doing in my free time, saying I should do a Masters degree because that's what everybody else is doing, saying I'm wasting my time in my field, etc. She's trying to completely erase the past few years of effort I took to get to a stable spot in my life and completely invalidating all my hard work by telling my to switch career paths. As if it can be done in a click of a finger.
I hate that they just say things without thinking of how it affects you. I wish her words didn't bother me but they frustrate and anger me so much because I have never ever received any emotional support from her in my academics and now my job. She's just on the sidelines booing me basically.
It's crazy because our first bullies end up being our parents.

My local university offers a General engineering degree or Engineering Technology degree in a couple of specialized fields like electronic, industrial, biomedical, plus more. My question is should I do the General engineering or engineering tech. The engineering tech is accredited by ABET but the general engineering is new and hasn't received accrediting, they say they will try to receive accrediting after the fist class graduates. I'm currently at a community college debating on what to do for transfer. I'm also open to Computer science, but not a large market locally.

I’m going to be a sophomore transfer to a new university (haven’t decided yet) and it’s gonna be out of state. Besides not even being able to pick a school, I come from a very boring university at home (no social life, no parties, no drinking, no hanging out) and I’m honestly super scared and nervous about transferring. I don’t want to make the wrong choice and transfer into a huge party school but I also want to transfer somewhere fun to transfer. I know college is what you can make of it, but does anyone have any good public school suggestions? I’m honestly so lost in this process.

I’m a high school senior who recently got into some colleges and committed to where I’ll be the next couple of years. The school I’ll be going to has a single digit acceptance rate and is considered one of the top 10 universities by sites like USNews - which has its own list of issues but that’s a different story. Many people have come up to congratulate me, but for the last couple of months, I couldn’t - and still can’t - help but feel so unbearably frustrated at myself. My peers at school never considered me smart and they always complimented the people in my friend group for how intelligent they are but I was never one of them. Many people have made fun of me by assuming I have extremely poor grades or that I would be homeless when I’m older when, in reality, I have a 4.0 GPA and a 35 ACT, while thinking heavily about careers paths. People did a 180 degree turn when word got out that I got into the school I did, but I had also gotten rejected by 3 schools I really loved and held in higher regard. The reason I’m frustrated is not because I got rejected from these schools, but because I didn’t give my all when applying to them. I have myself 2 weeks to apply to 10 schools when most applicants spend months working on their applications. Not only do am I confident I would have gotten into at least one of these schools, but I would’ve had time to apply to many more that I couldn’t because of the time restraint. Although people are treating me better now, I can’t help but hate myself for wasting the years of work I put in, and whenever I try to share this sentiment of wanting to have done better, even with what I got, I am told I am being unreasonable or not thankful.
